Finally a freshly squeezed bottom.
Just went to some MSM news sites. They aren't concerned. They told me Bear Sterns is fine.
So does this means that DISCO is finally on the verge of coming back?
Right after bell bottoms,again.
can I put those on 'layaway'?
OMG the flammable leisure suits!! Save us!!
yeah, leisure suits that don't breathe, now that was a great idea.

"Spiders & Snakes" didn't make it? - lol
Punk rock about to start up as a result of the over the top wealthy, lazy stadium rock groups. We need a social change same as punk tried to upset the status quo in music.

I wonder if Richard Nixon had anything to do with that stagering inflation, I mean growth witnessed in this chart starting in about 71' thru 07'. Either way the chickens are coming home to roost!
Yes. Nixon got off gold standard. Next climb was Carter - Reagan spending years.
Look it's 1986 all over again.
No. It's 1929. At the best.
Finally! An index returns to a level not seen in my lifetime! Yaay!
Soon you'll have index numbers going back to 1933
Nice! Now to wait for the high yield credit cycle to reverse, and dump tons of money into companies dealing with commodities. Who knows how long that will take. Maybe June at the earliest? December? I'm thinking Teck Resources might be a good one at some point.
Hmmm what happened in 1973 that might be relevant to this phenomenon...
The Saudi's got strongarmed into getting paper for their oil instead of gold.
lol,
Nothing like a cold shower to dampen the urges of a credit inspired boom.
That prices can indeed correct proves - much to the consternation of Zeroes - that we have a market after all!
We don't have a market until the reality is also reflected in the stock markets and until guilty bankers are jailed.
No deflation here.
Is it time to buy LEE MON
Still outperformed fiat.
Should have bought farmland. The ride would have been a whole lot more pleasant.
Sure, as long as the BLM didn't happen to focus on you.
Houses should be moving back to 1974 prices as well!!!!!

1973 I was fresh out of high school. I saw a nice looking lady with a tennis racquet. That weekend she was at the complex pool and I asked her if she knew how to play tennis. She said , "a little." She was in college with a full ride tennis scholarship. She beat me like a red headed Vietnamese house boy. That was June. We played into September. By then I could hold my own.
I tell this story for two reasons. I remember her and most of 1973 fondly. More importantly, if you don't have competition that is better than you and this applies in business and in many areas of life, you become complacent and atrophy.
America has become so accustomed to its abundant prosperity it has neglected the foundational principles that built and up girded this country .
It will tumble . It will not be pretty nor painless. What we come out with on the other side will be a direct reflection of the culture we have allowed to permeate our country for the last 20 years.
That my friends could keep me up nights if I let it . Do something every day to make your future more secure. Small things are better than nothing.
Night all.
IMO this is creating the buying opportunity of a lifetime. Convert QEnflated paper assets & coastal real estate into fiat cash and then convert the cash ASAP into real resources - productive land, oil deposits, PMs, etc. Buy the entire toilet paper section at costco and keep it dry because even if there's a global depression, there will never be a sustained global deflation in fiat currency terms. When times are good fiat loses value, and when times are bad it loses value even faster as the central banks try ever more desperately to create another "wealth effect" extend-and-pretend recovery. That only ends one way: a crack-up boom in nominal commodity prices.
Why anybody would put new cash into the 25x CAPE10 S&P500 now instead of $14/oz silver is just beyond me..
Huh! Just like the US employment rate (not unemployment), go figure.
