  • MAN SHOT DEAD IN PARIS ON THURSDAY CARRIED MOBILE PHONE AND SHEET OF PAPER WITH ISLAMIC STATE FLAG AND CLAIM OF RESPONSIBILITY

*  *  *

It goes without saying that France is on edge following the attacks by Islamic State that left some 130 people dead in Paris on a Friday night that will forever live in infamy.

The alleged ringleader Abdelhamid Abaaoud - who was emir of war in Deir Ezzour - was also planning to attack the French capital's La Defense business district. We say “was” because Abaaoud was blown to pieces in a siege on an apartment in Saint-Denis.

But the “cause” didn’t die with the Paris “mastermind” and now, the French live in a perpetual state of angst that’s even more acute now than it was in the wake of Charlie Hebdo.

Speaking of Charlie Hebdo, today is the one year anniversary of the horrific attacks that left 12 people dead at the offices of the satire mag. Apparently, one man decided to “celebrate” by attacking a police station in Northern Paris - with a knife.

According to multiple reports, the would-be assailant shouted “Allahu Akbar” before attempting to enter the building.

He was promptly shot.

“He fell immediately,” Luc Poignant, a police union representative, told BFM.

Apparently, there were “wires on the man,” and so, a bomb squad robot was sent in to “inspect” his corpse.

Although the explosive vest appears to have been fake, schools in the area were closed as a precaution. "Two schools on Goutte d’Or street, were closed and the children locked inside," Bloomberg reports. “We must be constantly vigilant", Pierre-Henry Brandet, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry, said.

Indeed we must, because as Charlie Hebdo notes on the cover of its anniversary edition, "the assassin is still out there"...

only because the German or the French police usually don't need to shoot the way it's "normal" in other countries does not mean they can't, or aren't capable of

yes, it is very seldom that they have to. though I remember when this continent was lousy with terrorism of the red (and black) persuasion, and this happened way more often

I am still waiting for that Cologne city police report to be published. will be interesting, I'm sure. prejudice is exactly that: pre- (before) followed by judging. i.e. judging before enough facts are known

yes, the same moronic city police that did report on Jan 2dn "all well, all fine". albeit followed by a moronic MSM that jumped the gun on a lot of pesky details

all in all a great defeat of political correctness in Germany, at least that. the report is due in a few days, until they have collected all the vidoes from smartphones

as a reminder, the city police of Cologne started bad by not banning fireworks in the city. several other cities did it, but Cologne refused to do so

then it had a long night running after all the calls because young people were firing fireworks into crowds, buildings and even the famous cathedral

then it cleared the place before the "Hauptbahnhof", because things were getting too rowdy, there. but then... it reopened it, and left

Cologne is famous for being a place where "rowdy" is somewhat tolerated, particularly around their famous carnival, which will start soon

my suspicion is that they were utterly understaffed, with most taking vacations before said carnival, in order to guarantee enough staff then

A leak in the police in Cologne already said that 14 out of 15 people detained that night were Syrian refugees that came to Germany last year. The other one was an Afghani. One Syrian said to the police: "you need to be friendly to me. I am Syrian. Merkel invited me".

More information is surfacing about what went on the night and how these events are being covered up. But people refuse to stay silent.

+1 the question is indeed if does it make sense to even try to put a lid on that? in the age of blogs, smartphones and lots of propaganda?

not long ago the Brits had the record for the biggest coverup of this kind, when it was all about rapes of foreign underage girls by foreigners. and the local "authorities" "not wanting to be politically incorrect", blast them

at least the German Second Channel (ZDF) apologized for not breaking those news snippets earlier. on the other side, the end result is a lot of mythology about said Sylvester Night in Cologne

facts, please, no political correctness, no blanket accusations, no propaganda. please... facts

Covering up, not reporting and smoothing things over will only achieve the opposite. As you said, in these days of internet and smart phones nothing remains uncovered. The authorities apparently are not understanding this. This will create mistrust of the government. It is amazing to see how much they are shooting themselves in the foot. The parties will lose their voters and then anything can happen. And that is a big worry.

Facts and no political correctness indeed.

Minimum force is always the same for these trigger happy turd hammers...

The knife does not qualify for shooting.  The bomb vest does.

In this case it was justified.

You mean the "apparent" bomb vest....

How to commit suicide? = look like a terrorist threat.

How to look like a terrorist threat = It's up to them that hold the power of life and death.  Today it was obvious, tomorrow it might be less so and closer to their convenience. And the day after tomorrow we are all terrorists unless we are body. mind and soul, debt slaves to whatever and whoever hold power.

Daesh, and their bosses at the CIA and Massad have been using hypnotic mind altering/control drugs on false flag assisins since the 60's.

It's too simple to find a the right subject, pump him/her up, provide the means, define the result.... And fabricate yet an other reinforcement to the fear of terror, and another  cause célèbre to reinforce authority and power over the self deluding masses.

Create the protocols, and scenario = create the result and effect.

Look at the details of the ’Charlie Hebdo’-cover. They now who the ‘assassin’ really are. Hint: funny hat don’t you think?

Another hint: all religions can be used in this way when it serves TPTB. Islam is circumstantial the scaremonger of today (replacing the red scare – to some degree. It’s still alive on this forum).

Why bother to hate anyone for chosing to believe in stories (polite word for lies)?

Way too much wasted energy. Just smile respectfully and be on your way.

Unless you're physically threatened, then take them out in self-defense.

No hate, just self-preservation.

years? how about months? Daesh is losing territory and cities. making more attacks in europe very, very likely

though I think our American Cousins misjudge how used our older generations are to such things. terror is an old enemy, here

Daesh is not the only problem. Yes all religious texts can be interpreted in destructive ways but it is so very easy with the Koran. I believe a significant percentage of fundamentalist Muslims are going to be the problem. Even if we're talking about 1% it's huge .Time will tell .

I do. A radical muslem will chop your head off while a 'moderate' one will hold your legs. An exaggeration perhaps but where is the outcry of moderate muslems about what happened in Cologne? What about Paris? When they called muslems to come to demonstrate how they were appalled by the Paris attacks a whopping 30 showed up.....

Not facing up to their radical fellows is a version of 'holding your legs'. Not questioning their own religious and cultural beliefs dito.

This ain't over by a long shot.

Isn't it interesting that these jihadis are carrying images of the islamic state flag on their persons or in backpacks? You have to wonder how many perps have these things but aren't reported in the media. Faisal Mohammad, the knife guy in Merced, had a print out of the islamic state flag in his backpack.
