Oregon Standoff: Isolated Event Or Sign Of Things To Come?

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Ron Paul via The Ron Paul Institute for Peace & Prosperity,

The nation's attention turned to Oregon this week when a group calling itself Citizens for Constitutional Freedom seized control of part of a federal wildlife refuge. The citizens were protesting the harsh sentences given to members of the Hammond ranching family. The Hammonds were accused of allowing fires set on their property to spread onto federal land.

The Hammonds were prosecuted under a federal terrorism statute. This may seem odd, but many prosecutors are stretching the definition of terrorism in order to, as was the case here, apply the mandatory minimum sentences or otherwise violate defendants’ constitutional rights. The first judge to hear the case refused to grant the government’s sentencing request, saying his conscience was shocked by the thought of applying the mandatory minimums to the Hammonds. Fortunately for the government, it was able to appeal the decision to judges whose consciences were not shocked by draconian sentences.

Sadly, but not surprisingly, some progressives who normally support civil liberties have called for the government to use deadly force to end the occupation at the refuge. These progressives are the mirror image of conservatives who (properly) attack gun control and the PATRIOT Act as tyrannical, yet support the use of police-state tactics against unpopular groups such as Muslims.

Even some libertarians have joined the attacks on the ranchers. These libertarians say ranchers like the Hammonds are “corporate welfare queens” because they graze their cattle on federal lands. However, since the federal government is the largest landholder in many western states, the ranchers may not have other viable alternatives. As the Oregon standoff shows, ranchers hardly have the same type of cozy relationship with the government that is enjoyed by true corporate welfare queens like military contractors and big banks. Many ranchers actually want control of federally-held land returned to the states or sold to private owners.

Situations like the one in Oregon could become commonplace as the continued failure of Keynesian economics and militaristic foreign policy is used to justify expanding government power. These new power grabs will increase the threats to our personal and economic security. The resulting chaos will cause many more Americans to resist government policies, with some even turning to violence, while the burden of government regulations and taxes will lead to a growing black market. The government will respond by becoming even more authoritarian, which will lead to further unrest.

Fortunately, we still have time to reverse course. The Internet makes it easier than ever to spark the ideas of liberty and grow the liberty movement. Spreading the truth and making sure we can care for ourselves and our families in the event of an economic collapse must be our priorities.

We must help more progressives understand that allowing the government to run the economy not only leads to authoritarianism, it impoverishes the lower classes and enriches the elites. We must also show conservatives that militarism abroad inevitably leads to tyranny at home. We also need to continue exposing how the Federal Reserve feeds the welfare-warfare state while increasing economic instability and income inequality. This week’s Senate vote on Audit the Fed is important to our efforts to help the American people learn the full truth about our monetary system.

One thing my years in Washington taught me is that most politicians are followers, not leaders. Therefore we should not waste time and resources trying to educate politicians. Politicians will not support individual liberty and limited government unless and until they are forced to do so by the people.

I thought the Bundy ranch was a game-changer.  The ongoing Oregon theater represents an escalation of the armed resistance against tyranny.  @ Bundy ranch the patriots had the place and time of the showdown dictated to them.  In Oregon, the patriots took and held Federal ground.  Both times, you saw armed citizens get into their vehicles and drive 100s of miles to get involved.  .Gov's perversion of the rule of law has past the point of any return without bloody conflict.  It could be a slow burning fuse, but it has been lit.  I expect more shadow boxing like in Oregon until either: (1) a State declares its soverengty; (2) the Fedcoats go full Waco/Ruby Ridge; or (3) the Fedcoats start grabbing guns on a widespread/coordinated basis. I think that at the point any of these 3 events occurs we'll discover ourselves in a war zone.

I'm curios about some of the xionist rhetoric.  I don't understand how tiny Israel is supposed to be calling all the shots and controlling all these people?  This gets really wacky on some of these posts. I don't have any dog in this hunt, but the rhetoric gets bizarre.  Maybe someone could post a primer link for me because I am not understanding how the zionist problem compares to the gorilla (Islam) in the ME room at all?

I can see how 'merica is a scourge on the world, but I do not see the possibility of how zionists are at the helm of the Enterprise?  I'm not pissing on people here, just looking to understand a little bit better.

Kick my ass if you must but give me some links to ponder.

OK. Here it is:

The Balfour Declaration.

Irgun and Stern Gangs.

The Yinon Plan.

The Project for a New American Century.

The Wolfowitz Doctrine.

All for Israel which is genocidal, racist; declaring itself to be a jewish state, and defying the U.N.

Try to understand that wealthy jews who are not jews hate you, and their cultural Marxism undermines the USA, and the world in general; foisting multiculturalism on settled communities while waging hateful killing against palestinians and declaring a  pure 'jewish state'. Nazionism, red in tooth and claw.

'Tiny Israel' as you think of it has the big beast Rothschild moneychangers of the City of London  to use it as a get out of jail free card. Monopoly. Neo-feudalist. Dual citizens who use the USA as shield, sword and Treasury.

Research and learn.

But I suspect your question might be disingenuous, merely to lure, not comprehend.

I am angry that some use and abuse the Constituion and try to divide Americans for their foreign interests serving foreign countries most, and the Rothschild led City of London in particular, and its fiefdom Israhell.

So I'd say start here:

Read this and then think about history since it was written.  It seems these methods are not new from tribal radical sects of "bANKSTERS".  Cultural Marxism has its roots in this sect of "banksters" and uses tribalism to destroy cultures as they shame the successfull cultures, pick apart weak ones and "divide and concquer". Then they kill MILLIONS, see here. If you have a homogeneous society they pit the sexes against eachother.

Also the entertainment industry is a favorite used to program populations. Start the rabbit hole here for the modern version started by the "banksters". Dave Mcgowan did a great job on this one.  RIP Dave

THe book is watered down, but here is the link.

THen there is my usual soap box on race relations, which I think is important for the meme on this to get out there.

I'm not "WHITE" I'm (CELT, GERMANIC, PARTHIAN,  GAUL, PICT)

AND .... by the way I want my reparations (sarc) because ... (drum roll please)

EVERY @*&@$N CIVILIZATION IN THE WORLD HAD SLAVERY

So the endless shaming on slavery which is odd because these "BANKSTERS" ran the slave trade. Anyway the slave shame thing only works on people with no historical background plus nobody alive today is responsible for the salvery back then - so its a red herring used to divert attention from . . .

BANKSTER CLANS RAN SLAVERY

See here

BANKSTER MONSANTO FAMILY

TA DA  . . . USURY AND FRACTINOAL RESERVE BANKING which is how these BANKSTERS CONTROL society aka the Rothschilds, Kuhn Loebs, Morgan, Seif etc . . families

Now RON PAUL TALKS ALOT ABOUT THIS, ITS WHAT HE MEANS WHEN HE SPEAKS OF THE FED

That reminds me, these "BANKSTERS" do not consider themselves "white", they are different and special

NOFX Don't Call Me White

MY SOAP BOX

I'd like to start with some light humor with some intelligent debate over the terms we use. Before we talk about "white" lets define "white".

White - a human being with light skin

White - Balt - a specific genetic makeup of a people group currently with a majority comprising populations in Lithuania and some of Poland and Latvia?

Wait so you just want to throw the term out there because we all know what you mean right?

Really, I beg to differ.

Seriously where is the nation of Whiteland?

Anybody know of a nation state of peoples called "Whiteland" where they can trace their descendants?

Now for all of you less traveled I would argue that you will find very few people of Greek ancestry who will say that they are the same type of people as the Irish. Even more I'd say that many Irish would have a serious problem if you said they were the same as the British.

And I dare you to tell a Russian scientist that he is of the same makeup, no better or worse than a shiftless Apalachian meth head. Tell a light skinned New Yorker from any borough that he is the same as the guys from Duck Dynasty and see if he doesn't wipe the floor with you.

And I dare you to tell a new migrant from Ghana or Nigeria that they are the same "blacks" as someone from the #3rd or 5th Ward in Houston, Texas. Just the same that person from Houston, Texas would have their own concept of their identity as seperate from the migrant.

What these terms on your tax form, black, white, hispanic, pacific islander, native american are about in America is a divide and conquer strategy that is as old as history. I'm sorry people of light skin makeup less than 7% of the world population. It is not a homogenous group, in fact, it comprises a mixture of ethnic, religious and in fact tribal genetic markers that are quite unique. Each of us, no matter what our intellect, background, race or religion must come to face the fact we have been conned. Fighting about meaningless (relative to larger issues) notions of skin color rather than the larger issues of civilization.

Samuel Clemmons (Mark Twain) once remarked (paraphrasing) "its easier to to be fooled than admit you were fooled"

Duke,

A good place to start might be the books Ron Paul has written.  They are easy reading.

The problem is the Central Bank: the Federal Reserve.  Whoever controls the Federal Reserve can print as much money out of thin air as they like, and then that money can be used to get whatever candidates they want elected.

The ownership of the Federal Reserve is more complicated than I can understand.  There are interlocking bank corporations, but they seem to include the same banks who receive the Federal Reserve monies-printed-out-of-thin-air at the Fed's "discount window".  And these banks seem to interlock with European banks.  So, the thought is that the same European financiers, whoever they are, who control the Bank of England and the various European central banks also control the Federal Reserve.

You don't have to call these financiers Zionists; you could just call them Central Bankers, and then you won't be labeled a "racist".   However, they do seem to include Zionism in their program.  I think that Israel and its neighbor Egypt get the lion's share of USA "aid".

Direct ownership is simple to ascertain~ each national bank buys stock in their district federal reserve bank equal to "6 per centum of the paid-up capital stock and surplus of said applicant bank".  Finding out the ownership of the (largest) national banks is the laborious part.  However ownership does not equate with control; these days all members of the federal reserve board of governors are appointed by the president and confirmed by the senate.  Currently there are two vacant seats which further concentrates control into the hands of the chair and vice chair.  The federal open market committee is made up of the federal reserve board of governors, the governor of the new york fed, and governors from 4 of the other 11 reserve banks.

Look, the Oregon Bundy case is just an attempt at stealing public lands. PUBLIC LANDS BELONG TO ALL OF US. It is as simple as that. Lands should not be given away to the biggest loudmouth cattle farmers just because they are loud, and locally powerful.

The Federal Gevernment owns 50% of the land in Oregon and controls another 20% because American "leaders" want uraniun and natural gas under that land. Once again, it's about money, greed and treason, not cattle, burning rights or grazing rights. Money.

I agree.  I think there are 2 wrongs here, and 2 wrongs do not make a right.

1. Bundy should not be grazing his cattle on my (our) land, and if he does, he should at least pay me (us) the rent he agreed to pay.

2. The USA is abusing its own antiterror laws, and therefore abusing Bundy AND me (use) by applying them to Bundy.

I don't agree with the ranchers raising their cattle on my land and not paying me rent, BUT I think the government's use of "antiterror" laws against them is CHICKENSHIT.  I guess the ranchers are actually doing this standoff not to attract public attention to their cattle, but to attract public attention to the CHICKENSHIT use of "antiterror" laws against them - which, incidentally, I have not heard one peep about in the MSM, and may not ever have if not for this Zerohedge Ron Paul article.

By the way, I see "our" Congressmen, Senators, and President snuck a "reauthorization" of the "911 Homeland Security Act" (or whatever they call it) into that Omnibus Bill they passed a couple weeks ago, while the MSM had our attention distracted toward San Bernardino.  Way to go, MSM!  Way to go, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, and Barack Obama!

Ron Paul has been a hero, and most heros are flawed, as those who are strong can have strong negatives.

Paul heroically calls out US proxy wars for Israael and the cronyism of the US Fed.

Paul's is his anti-black racism. The Progrsssives (like me) pining for those Mormon Klanfolk in Oregon to be taken out in body bags do so because the police state is aligned against blacks. Paul can't bring himself to say this, so he uses "muslims" instead, a smaller and more recent target and, oft, a fitting target, as muslims have self-identified with an ideology and not merely a skin color assigned at birth.

I don't hate Paul, at all, because he has been honest about his flaw for anyone who has paid attention as long as I  have (he was my Congressman 30 years ago).

There are uranium and natural gas under Oregon so America's "leaders" want Oregon for themselves. The Federal Government owns 50% of Oregon and controls another 20% to get the uranium and natural gas to make politicians and their relatives wildly rich. It's not about grazing rights or burning rights. it's about stealing all the land in Oregon for the control of the mineral and gas rights to make politicians fabulously wealthy. It's about money. It's about treason.

Most, here, at ZH, know it's never what politicians say it is. It's always about stealing, control and treason. Whenever there's an issue with government, step back, take a look and try to see what's, really, going on. It will, usually, be about their stealing, control and treason.

I'm disappointed that people like Ron Paul don't spell it out, loud and clear. Of course, if he did, he may be JFKd.

If ever a country needed a leader, it is America, now. Intolerant regressives leading both parties in Congress have declared war on the Constitution and on "We, the people", and the people seem increasingly ready to fight, for their rights if not exactly for the Constitution. Trump rolling over the opposition in the 2016 election could stop that. I don't see any other bright opportunists on white horses. Prosecutions, treason trials and the disgrace and bankruptcy of a few prominent traitors might help regressives to see the light.
