Russian Stocks Are Crashing

Tyler Durden's picture

Down over 5%, Russia's RTS Index has plunged to its weakest level since Dec 2014 and the peak of its existential crisis mid-Ukraine/currency-crisis/oil-collapse. This is Russia's biggest one-day drop since April 2015. The Ruble continues to tumble (despite CNH strength) as oil pushes to new cycle lows...

Russian stocks are tumbling...

And The Ruble is heading back towards record lows against the USD...

Ruble's record intraday low of 79.1688 is just 2 handles away.

Waiting for the end to come.

Waiting for the end to come
Wishing I had strength to stand
This is not what I had planned
It's out of my control

The U.S. market is ripping higher 30 points (on the Dow).  Speaks to the stability and insulation from the rest of (reality) the world.

This is what I grew up on.

Brother will kill brother
Spilling blood across the land
Killing for religion
Something I don't understand

Fools like me, who cross the sea
And come to foreign lands
Ask the sheep, for their beliefs
Do you kill on God's command?

A country that's divided
Surely will not stand
My past erased, no more disgrace
No foolish naive stand

The end is near, it's crystal clear
Part of the master plan
Don't look now to Israel
It might be in your homelands

Who would have ever thought that cutting the price of an insignificant commodity like oil by 2/3 would have such a negative effect on the world economy?

Let freedom reign and let the socialist billionaires die. No more handouts.

How about rebuilding America instead of shoveling money so the skimmers and churners can waste it.

True price discovery- now that would be a sight to see.

Russia's and China's economies are being attacked by the U.S. and U.K and E.U.

The three Us are murdering the entire Middle East. Europe is being over run by refugees.

It is just a matter of time before there is no more corner to be pushed back into.

The larger war is closer everyday.

Prepare yourself, Droogs.

Meanwhile, Goldman is raving about USD20 a barrel and Reuters is crowing that Russia is expected to run out of the money saved during the oil boom in time for Hillary's coronation, at which time they presumably expect Vladimir Putin to turn himself in to the US embassy and whoever replaces him to sell Russia to Goldman for a dollar.

Whatever gets them through the night and helps them fiddle the rubes out of their money.

Long oil, Russia and Israel.

Short debt, socialism and Islam.

Anymore since 2 February 2015. Moreover, the Russian central bank played against the ruble in May - July 2015 to not allow the ruble to be stronger than 50:1.

The ruble will go down with oil, they need to get the same amount of rubles in exchange for fewer oil dollars.

Thanks. So, many of those companies could be owned, or mostly owned, by financiers outside Russia.  If so, perhaps the Russian people will not be hurt so badly if those companies' stock prices decline.
