I haven't watched live quotes for 5 years until a few days ago. Last night all the major indexes in Asia and equity futures and Australia were all following similar patterns on a regular-ish interval. Every 30 mins to hour or so there would be a sudden lift off everywhere at once. Looked more rigged than illiquid stocks on the TSX Venture (if it still exists :) )

People moving to the sidelines will exacerbate the selling. People talk over the weekend and move their money to safer ground on Monday but Funds don't make the shift until the next trading day. Forced to sell, the funds bring down the overall markets. The Funds know they will do this and profit on the other side of the trade (and no doubt tell others).
Obie is going to tell us it's all good and the Repubs are just negative db's tomorrow.
Oil will get a two handle by the end of January. My only question is how many barrels can I stack in my backyard once it does...

nothing I don't think, letting it down slowly. I thought they were defending 30ish and then tested 36, gave up, tried to defend 22, gave up trying to defend 15ish...ultimately perhaps 1900 level? Ultimately they'll be trying to defend the 666 level but that may be later in the summer.
aug and sept lows? we will see.
