Even as Obama takes his anti-gun crusade to new highs with every passing week, having recently started dispensing executive orders, the president conveniently continues to ignore the state of affairs in his native Chicago - a city in which guns are banned - yet where the shooting epidemic has never been worse, and is truly emblematic of the "gun problem" America has.
Judging by the most recent developments, Obama will have nothing to say about Chicago gun violence either during tonight's state of the union address, or ever for that matter, because recent developments are downright disastrous.
According to the Chicago Tribune, following the seven people shot to death and 30 more wounded during the latest weekend, the total number of shootings in the windy city has risen to 120 in just over a week into the new year, according to police.
The fatal shootings included two teens killed by a store clerk during a robbery in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side, and one of three people shot at a party four blocks from Mayor Rahm Emanuel's home.
As the Tribune tabulates as of Monday morning, at least 19 people have been killed in gun violence and at least 101 more have been wounded. This is three times higher than compared to the same period one year ago: in the first 10 days of 2015, "only" nine people were killed and another 31 wounded.
Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi released a statement blaming most of the violence on "chronic gang conflicts."
"Every year Chicago Police recover more illegal guns than officers in any other city, and as more and more illegal guns continue to find their way into our neighborhoods."
So the problem is smuggling of illegal guns, got it. What is the proposed solution?
"So it is clear we need stronger state and federal gun laws," Guglielmi said in the statement.
Because those who illegally procure guns will follow gun purchasing laws, and the only thing preventing them from doing so is not enough laws? One can almost see why Chicago's gun problem is getting worse by the day.
The statement continues:
"So far this year, the majority of the gun violence we've seen are a result of chronic gang conflicts driven in part by social media commentary and petty disputes among rival factions. Despite an overall lack of cooperation from gang members, detectives are working aggressively and making optimistic progress in several cases."
At least 2,986 people were shot in Chicago in 2015. Many more will be shot - by illegally obtained weapons in a city with unprecedented gun control - in 2016.

If black lives actually mattered, Obama would have addressed this instead of trying to take guns away from white people.
Ages 15 & 17. You should read what their friends and relatives had to say about this, almost as if it was expected. Personal comments from the street all point to the lack of respect for life, theirs or yours. It's surreal.

Yet the strongest advocates for diversity live in rich white neighborhoods.

And I'll believe black lives matter when blacks stop aborting half their pregnancies. Although I am conflicted about that. I;m generally anti-abortion. I am not a statist though and don't think it should be outlawed. The woman's choice is hers to live with, if she is capable of feeling guilt or remorse. First of all, crime statistics are misleading when looked at as a measure of any correlated statistic. During low crime rates criminals tend to be more intelligent, because they have to be to get away with it in the midst of a freer and more connected community. During times with higher crime rates, criminals tend to be less intelligent than average, because any stupid criminal can live to steal another day.
I answered the horseman's question with a question to point out that his question, full of false accusations and innuendo, was not very constructive. To my badly made point, about why crime rates of blacks over the last 50 years has turned for the worse, I'd say the following. Blacks may be less intelligent on average, but that doesn't make them more criminal by nature. In fact, simpletons usually are more peaceful than the full-capacitied person. It could be argued that blacks are naturally a more peaceful race, but that's not my point.
The calamity today, is not black on black crime, it's the nanny state that we have all acquiesced to over the last 50 years. The places evil govt tends to sack more than others are these is exactly in those more peacefully natured communities and people. Now of course, the once peaceful communities have been transformed by the state intrusion into untrusting and places prone to hyper-self-defensive behavior. Average IQ of blacks in America is 85 and that is only cause they got an extra 15 points from mixing in some white genes. Blacks evolved in an environment that did not put any premium on impulse control. r type reproduction and low emotional intelligence is the result of that.

R type reproduction is actually understood to be a result of the environment. Not a result of intelligence. White poor people tend to have more offspring than their rich counterparts, too. R type comes from lack of resources, always on the edge of survival, or a high mortality rate due to the abundance of predators. Prey usually exhibit r type reproduction, quantity over quality, in other words.
An interesting correlated idea is that highly religious people often exhibit r reproduction. They feel as prey to the devil. They are usually less productive laborers because they spend more time with family and the Bible, and therefore have less material and nutrition resources.

If you're for gun control, you're actually for guns, you just think that only "government approved" people, who by-and-large do not posess above-average-intelligence, should be the only people allowed to have guns so they can take away other people's guns by force.
Once again, if you're for gun control, you are not anti-gun, you're actually very pro-gun, you just think that only jackbooted people with badges should have them instead of every female in your family to protect themselves from being raped/robbed/attacked.
