Virginia Senator: "Saudi Arabia And Turkey Are The Greatest Threats To World Peace"

Tyler Durden's picture

Last year, we noted with some incredulity that when it comes to US foreign policy in the Mid-East, someone inside the Beltway actually "gets it".

That someone is Hawaii Democrat Tulsi Gabbard who knows something about the region thanks to the fact that she served in the Middle East - twice. Now, she’s sponsoring a bipartisan bill to stop what she calls an “illegal” war against the government of Bashar al-Assad in Syria.

It’s not necessarily that Gabbard is a fan of Assad.

Rather, she understands that overthrowing “dictators” very often (and by “very often” we mean “every single damn time”) ends in tears for the locals who at best end up with a regime that’s even more brutal than its predecessor and at worst see their country descend into outright chaos.

Asked about human rights abuses allegedly perpetrated by the Assad government, Gabbard said the following in November:

"People said the very same thing about Saddam (Hussein), the very same thing about (Moammar) Gadhafi, the results of those two failed efforts of regime change and the following nation-building have been absolute, not only have they been failures, but they've actually worked to strengthen our enemy."

Now, another US politician is speaking out against Washington's Mid-East policy. This time it's Virginia state Senator Dick Black who spoke to RT about what he believes are the "two greatest dangers to world peace."

Like Tulsi, Dick knows a thing or two about war and about the Mid-East. Here's a bit from his official bio:

He enlisted in the Marines in 1963. By age 21, Black became a second lieutenant and was among the Marines' youngest aircraft carrier-qualified pilots. He flew 269 combat helicopter missions in Vietnam. Ground fire struck his aircraft on four different occasions.

Black also engaged in bitter ground combat with the 1st Marine Regiment. His radiomen were killed and he was wounded during an attack against enemy positions across the Hoi An River. Black served in small-unit actions where two fellow Marines--PFC Gary Martini and SSgt. Jimmie Howard--won the Medal of Honor. While in office, he was the only member of the Virginia General Assembly who held the Purple Heart Medal for wounds received in battle.

Dick left the Marines to attend the University of Florida. There, he was twice elected to the Student Senate. He graduated with honors from the School of Business in 1973 and earned a law degree in 1976. He practiced law in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, before accepting a commission as a Major in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps (JAG).

Black headed the Army's Criminal Law Division at the Pentagon. He developed Executive Orders for the President's signature, and laws that were enacted by Congress. He advised senior government officials on issues of national significance. He testified before the U.S. Congress, representing the U.S. Army, on four occasions.

When it comes to assessing what really represents a threat to peace and security in the world, Dick hits the nail on the head. “I believe that Saudi Arabia and Turkey are the two greatest dangers to world peace,” Black told RT. “It is Saudi Arabia, through the Wahhabist doctrine, that is spreading terrorism across the globe. It’s not Iran, it’s not Syria or any other country.”

He's also right on target with his assessment of Syria's civil war:

“Virtually all arms, ammunition, equipment, supplies, jihadists, medical support – all of it comes from Turkey. Right now, ISIS sends 44,000 barrels of oil per day – stolen barrels, most of it from Syria – across the border into Turkey. The State Department has publicly said that there’s only a trickle of oil that gets into Turkey, but I have personally spoken to Kurdish activists … [who] observed hundreds of ISIS oil tankers carrying stolen Syrian oil into Turkey on a daily basis.”

"Turkey is actively assisting the ISIS rebels and helping the Al-Nusra rebels which are linked with Al-Qaeda.”

“In both places we’ve got terrorists, and in both places their major support comes out of Turkey. And it comes out of Turkey with approval from the highest levels of government.”

And here's Black on Erdogan:

“Erdogan has a dream of becoming a new Ottoman Empire,” Black said. “He’s a very calculating, very vicious individual and, I think, a great danger. Erdogan won an absolute majority of the Turkish parliament, which will enable him to rewrite the constitution. Once he had that total power to impose an absolute dictatorship – which he intends to do – and he publicly said that his model is that of Adolph Hitler.”

And on the latest spat between Saudi Arabia and Iran:

“What’s happening is that they [the Saudi family] are trying to restore some of the hostility between Shiites and the Sunnis. The Saudis massacred 47 people. I’m sure some of them were genuine criminals, but many of them were simply political opponents. And then there was an inevitable reaction which they knew there would be. And the Saudis, in typical fashion, have now shown a sense of outrage that people would be angered by the level of their debauchery – and this is typical of the Saudis.”

So this is a war hero and a lawyer who worked on Executive Orders for the President shouting from the rooftops that Washington's Mid-East policy not only amounts to lunacy, but in fact makes the world a more dangerous place.

Actually, it's worse than that. Black is suggesting that the US knowingly and openly supports the two governments that pose the greatest threat to global peace and security.

And he's exactly right.

Iraq 2003?  Syria 2015?

They probably began bombing a couple more while you were composing the list but it sure isn't "America" that is creating these wars it's the CFR/BB globalists and their CIA/MI6/Mossad/Whitehouse assets...

I sometimes wonder how the rest of the world will deal with us in the future, after our collapse.  I imagine they'll let us think we still have power, purely for internal control purposes, but in reality- no real power.

Sure, we'll still have a President and he'll still have the "nuclear football" carried around with him, but if he ever pushes the button no ICBMs will launch from their underground silos, no Trident subs will rise to launch depth and send their missiles hurtling towards their targets.  It will just send an automated fax to some low level clerk deep inside the UN who notifies his superiors, files it and then everyone promptly forgets about it.

Erdogan is on Zionist payroll.  His arming of ISIS and smuggling the oil to Israel is essential proof of this.

Is he Donmeh like Kemal Ataturk?  That awaits to be seen.  Either way, unless he can convince Putin he is trustworthy (unlikely) he is done for.

If you want Saudi Arabia, Turkey U.K. and "Israel" the last one which of course you helped to create and that became your pimp and you it's faithful whore through bribery and extortion, then simply stop creating lies like this one to go to war  raping and murder millions of people and stealing their shit in the first place bankrupting your Nation and all those that you coerce through the use of force going on 70 years now!!!

Sonny, you could not be more wrong about Dick Black.  He represents a jurisdiction near mine, and I wish he was my senator.

One fact you seem to have missed is that he is a STATE Senator in the Senate of Virginia located in Richmond, and would have no votes or input on either of the matters with which you have slurred him.  He opposed Bush's wars and, while he is imperfect, he has been a good friend of pro-life, freedom loving Constitutional conservatives in VA.

Preaching to someone who campaigned for the Delegate out of the same District that ran for the U.S. Senate a few years back and lost to "Pimp" Kaine... If you listened in on those debates or even remember it the NDAA didn't even come up in the filtered Q&A from any of them!

Where are they now on the issue(s) of the NDAA Section 1021 and 1022 and will NOBODY but NOBODY speak to or pick that thread up again after the POTUS and the U.S. Congress signed it into "law" in 2011?!!!

I can't wait to hear what you have to say PTMY!

Sorry you had to wait, but here's what I would say.

Try to keep in mind that the debate you so painfully remember (and which I, admittedly, do not remember at all) was for a position in Richmond, VA which has virtually no say on NDAA matters.  Contestants for the race would win no votes taking any position on the NDAA about which most Americans and Virginians have absolutely no knowledge.  The purpose of a debate is to distinguish yourself from the other candidate(s) to garner more votes so you can win the election.  People who use debates to educate the people while knowing that they have no chance to win an election, like Ron Paul, provide a great service but do not get a vote in the legislature and they attain no executive authority.

It is embarrassingly obvious that you have a personal grudge because your thoughtfully but idealistically written NDAA question didn't make it into the referenced debate.  Try to step back and become a more objective arbiter of reality rather than letting an old hurt cause you to publicly slur a good, albeit imperfect, man.

You write a lot of good stuff here SOCN.  This was not among it.

So let me ask you... When does 10th Amendment take over when the Federal government does the unthinkable and violates virtually every tenet of the U.S. Constitution?...

This is why Bob Marshall threw his hat in the ring when the NDAA was passed into law and under the provision(s) in section 1022 and I might add alarmingly so stated that essentially the POTUS without Congressional oversight or consent has the authority and "extra-judicial" right( courtesy of the blessings of Congress who rubber stamped it) after passage to commit the worst form of treason possible without a Constitutional Convention to decide those "provision(s)" can abscond with anyone in the State of Virginia or anywhere else in this Country for that matter if he so chooses a person, any person to be a "terrorist" as judge, jury and executioner!

In all fairness to Bob Marshall he tried to bring it's significance into focus going into his campaign but when he took it to the State House in Richmond it got scuttled by his colleague(s) which also included a visit from Congressman Frank Wolf to have the temerity to threaten delegates in the House if anyone followed Marshall's suit to bring it into the light and ensure the State made it a "wedge issue" in the upcoming Senate campaign (at that time) in 2012.

Tim Kaine like Cantor are Zionist elites within the State and made sure that none of the issue(s) regarding the NDAA would ever see the light of day and they were paid handsomely to do so...

Just in case you wanted to know how absolutely corrupt and pusillanimous they all are!

"When does 10th Amendment take over when the Federal government does the unthinkable and violates virtually every tenet of the U.S. Constitution?...

I'm not sure every tenet of the Constitution has not already been violated.  And, I think that answers the question about "when".

People don't understand what liberty is - most would not be able to distinguish between liberty and libertine, and very few understand it to be the acknowledged right to do the right thing.  As long as there are enough FRNs, food supplies, heating/cooling, communications access for bread and circuses etc., this will continue.

States will not come to the rescue, though I hope there are some that will be refuges for the sane when the inevitable happens.  Otherwise, maybe we'll meet up in the FEMA camp where we can plot insurrections with our sharpened sporks.  They do know who we are, you know.

Some have argued that "Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem would be more appropriate targets"

To which I responded (Thu, 11/05/2015 - 14:14 | 6754516   Kirk2NCC1701):

Yup, make those places glow for the next million years, and you'd have a real chance of Peace On Earth.

Especially after no Guy In The Sky intervenes or shows up, to maintain the ancient EOTW 'prophecies'. Even then, I'd expect organized religion to do what it has always done, when confronted with extinction:  To re-invent itself, with a new spin. Cause sheeple are gullible and 'stoopid'.

Why is why the old saying applies: There will be no peace until the very last monarch is hung by the entrails of the last cleric (priest, rabbi, imam).

- - -

2016/01/12: All three Abrahamic religions have extremely dangerous fanatics & zealots, who won't allow the world to have peace, and people of each 'faith' are busy pointing fingers at the other faiths.  Extremists of all three faiths need to be taken out of the gene pool entirely.  But good luck with that, as it's equivalent to saying "Let's kill all cockroaches".  The next best thing, is to remove them from positions of wealth, power and influence.  Sounds good and achievable with great effort.

Try reading the Scripture before commenting; you always make a fool of yourself when speaking from the place of total ignorance, for the fool (stupid person) says in his heart there is no God.  Why?  The complexity and nature of creation speaks explicitly of an intelligence far beyond human understanding, which is the precise reason you bury your head in the sand despite yourself and the creation you have enjoyed your entire life.  Just saying.  On a side note; how do you know what is right and what is wrong?  By what measure?  Is that measure right or wrong?  Think long and hard about how you can know such a thing apart from a moral lawgiver, the Author of life you have and hopefully enjoy.

I can't expalin the Universe, but I KNOW that a "Magic Man in the Sky" didn't provide books for us to understand our origin. How do I know this? Those books, ALL OF THEM are full of ERRORS, HUGE FUCKING ERRORS about our Universe.

The earth is 6000 years old...BS..."God" created science and math, and using those tools that were PROVIDED BY "GOD", MAN can clearly see the Earth is not 6000 years old. PROOF that the idea of a "6000 year old Earth" was written by MEN who were ignorant of "Gods' Gift" of Science.

There may be a "creator"; probably is...BUT...it is NOT YOUR "GOD" nor is it the 1000's of other "God's" CREATED BY MAN throughout recorded history.

Put down your fairly tale books and stop giving your money and "faith" to MEN selling you a false "God".

Listen up Bibi and Ziocons... I've said it before, and I'll say it again:

Bibi, Likudniks and Ziocons, you are pathologically deluded, if you think that it is not Iran, but KSA that is your real threat.  The Saudis and its cancerous ideological disease that is Wahhabism, is your TRUE existential in the long run.  When all moderate and secular ME countries around Israel are gone, then so too will Israel.

At best, you can hope that in an Iranian-Saudi war, the Iranians do the dirty work for you and take out the Saudis.  Iran would then retreat and worry about itself (as they have before, ever since Alexander The Great kicked their ass).  To restore peace, the US and an Islamic 'Coalition' could take over Saudi oil fields, pipelines and refineries -- or what's left of them -- and manage it "FBO the Saudi People".  Like they have done the same in Iraq.  Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

And finally, short of nuking Mecca and Medina off the face of the earth, everyone would be better off, if we get the Jordanians to administer those two cities, and keep the residual Wahhabi nutjobs at bay.

Then, when all the dust has settled, the Palestinians can be relocated from Gaza and West Bank, and given a chunk of SA.  Let the Saudis worry about them then.
