Hillary's Lead Disintegrates: She Is Now Doing Worse Than In 2008, As Trump Surges

Tyler Durden's picture

Just when Hillary Clinton thought her political fiascoes would be the worst of her ongoing troubles as she glides through the Democrat primaries, and then takes on Trump sure to find a Warren Buffett-funded victory, suddenly everything appears to have gone wrong in what is most important to the scandal-ridden former Secretary of State and presidential contender: her second - and final - campaign for president.

According to WaPo, if one compares where Clinton is now in the Real Clear Politics polling average, the 2016 picture and the 2008 picture aren't really all that similar; in fact suddenly the trapdoor beneath Hillary appears to have sprung open. "Nationally, she was doing much better in 2008 than she is right now, perhaps in part because the anti-Clinton vote in 2008 was still split between two people -- Barack Obama and John Edwards -- instead of just one. But that recent trend line, a function of two new national polls that were close after a bit of a lull, is not very good news."

Not surprisingly, Clinton is trailing badly in New Hampshire, which is the home turf of her main socialist opponent. In 2008,

What little silver lining exists, is that in Iowa, Hillary is running a little better than she did in 2008, although as seen on the chart below even here her lead has plunged recently. In 2008 it wasn't until the last week that she fell out of the lead. She eventually came in third.

The problem remains the national race, and what's worse, if the 2008 past is prologue and if Hillary's lead in Iowa evaporates and she loses, it may be the end for the former first lady: back then she lost three-quarters of her lead after the caucuses although she did gain some of it back after her win in New Hampshire.

And while these numbers can easily change, one person who is certain to capitalize on Hillary's sudden collapse is Donald Trump, who as we showed recently has become the bookmakers' favorite after trailing badly as recently as September, even as Trump's republican competitors drop like flies on their own, the most recent casualty being Ben Carson whose campaign is all but over following news from CNN that Carson's campaign finance chairman Dean Parker submitted his resignation.

Finally, moments ago the WSJ reported that Donald Trump has opened a double-digit lead over his next-closest Republican rival, less than three weeks before the first votes of the 2016 presidential race are cast, a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll finds.

A third of Republican primary voters in the nationwide survey said they favored Mr. Trump to be the GOP nominee, followed by Texas Sen. Ted Cruz at 20% support, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio at 13% and retired pediatric neurosurgeon Ben Carson at 12%.

In December, Mr. Trump had led the No. 2 candidate, Mr. Cruz, by 5 percentage points. In the new poll, his lead widened to 13 points.

And so what was considered humor by most pundits as recently as last summer is becoming an all too possible reality: president Trump?

Major indictments are on the way for hitlery over Benghazi and emails etc.  FBI supposedly ready to take her fat ass down, and so it seems it will be up to whatever is most politically beneficial for dept. of injustice skank bitch Lynch to decide to do.  Less than 60 days until D-Day for the hildabeast.  Lets all hope they burn that bitch at the stake.

If the indictment actually happens, I wonder if all the "I'm Ready for Hillary" bumper stickers will magically come flying off. For some reason, I doubt it... the cult of TransfeminaziLibProgPCeverythinghurtsmyfeelings crowd will still manage to spin all of Hitlery's misdoings as some sort of right wing propaganda character assasination campaign. A spectacle of mental gymnastics awaits!

Remember when the D.C. EBTites voted Marion Barry in (again) as mayor after being caught, on tape, smoking crack cocaine, then spending time in jail for it?  The EBT voters could care less about dishonesty and corruption.  As long as they continue to get their free shit.

Maybe Hillary(!) will use Barry's tried and true explanation: "The bitch set me up!!!"

Portland has never met a tax it didn't like ...

Not that it matters this late in America's debt game, however, I would much prefer a Trump vs. Hillary than Trump vs. Bernie. Hillary is status quo and in Wall Streets pocket. If you work for a living either Trump or Hillary is FAR superior to that nut Sanders.

Horseshit.

I don't agree with Bernie Sanders on much of anything, but I'd far rather have a democrat running against Trump who:

  • hasn't turned Libya and Syria into Islamist hellholes,
  • didn't store massive amounts of top-secret info on a private server and then lie about it,
  • didn't get people killed in Benghazi and then carry water for Islamist propagandists by telling the American people it was a response to a Mohammed video,
  • is far enough to the left that he really has no chance.

Say what you want about Bernie; his (empty) track record alone puts him light years ahead of Hillary.

That might be real difficult to pull off, if Hillary holds on long enough for Sanders to amass a lot of delegates then gets herself hauled off to jail.

If Americans had come to their senses, people would be organizing libertarians to infiltrate both political parties to work towards positive change, and to sabotage negative change if necessary.  If we had one united group with members split amongst both the democratic and republican parties forming a subgroup in each, we could possibly get somewhere. A party within the parties, an independent force, under the radar advocating for liberty and opposing business as usual.  Then we could wield power in the primaries even though TPTB don't want us to be that enfranchised.  Think of it as a Tea Party 2.0, only let's don't get coopted by special intrest shitheads this time.  I'm looking at you, Koch brothers.

Its 1860 all over again.  A four-way race.  In that election Lincoln won with a little more than 37% of the vote.

The Democratic party hacks will sideline Sanders and install Hillary no matter what.  The party apparatus is so corrupt she is impossible to derail. Sanders, because of his moral makeup will bolt the party and run as an Independent/Socialst (though if he is smart he will lose the 'socialist' tag pronto).  He will take 10-15% of the national vote.

Trump may, or may not, get the Republican nod.  But if he does not he will also bolt and run as a Libertarian cum Tea Party Republican, perhaps under The Trump Party.  But he will get over 35% o f the national vote any way (45% Republican, 35% Independent/20% Democrat).  The Rebuplican standard-bearer was supposed to be Jeb Bush, which still could happen (again due the incredibly corrupt nominating process).

Of the remaining +/- 50% of the vote Hillary is almost assured more than 30% just on the basis of the black, hispanic, gender correct voters.  The Republican ass-wipe that will only beat Bernie.

This outcome produces maximum uncertainty.  The very worst set-up for the nation's elite.  Anticipate a chaotic 2016 with possible assasination attempts. How this plays into the deflating economy and our military interventionism overseas is anyone's guess . . . but it will be epic.

First of all, of all of the oligarchs, Koch brothers are superior folks. The Left hates them, but criminal indictments are few and suspected corruption low.  Not in the same class as Soros and the coast crowds, MIC, etc.

From what I know, we would all be proud to work for their company.  Not an expert, but what I see of the reality is very different than MSM wants me to believe.

Second, forget infiltration.  We have a Libertarian party, and any L will be better than any D or R.  Vote for them as the very best protest vote, one that won't have its own down side.

That person, of course, will not reform the system. as major parts of the system would need to be changed all at once to remove enough of hte criminals and AIPAC-owned.  Otherwise, Israeli-Neocons would reconstitute the criminal network faster than it can be reformed.

The whole Mid-East mess is owned by Hillary.

20 years-from Albright to Clinton-of sending women-even a black women-to do men's jobs in the Middle east

ya'd think if its so damn imprtant for Muslim men to sell their oil in USD-we'd at least the foresight and judgment to do them the courtesy of sending a Trump-type or our own Putin-type out to negotiate on our behalf.

Instead we send women. And wonder why the rest of the world sees Americans as "arrogant" and "clueless" -and then pretend we really just can't figure out what happened over there-"nobody could see it coming" etc

And all the while Putin is laughing in his sleeve-and Bibi is raging-and all the Muslim Leaders of consequence are dead-humiliated in the eyes of their own countrymen by being forced to kowtow to American women. They are deposed and killed by their countrymen.

Any REAL politician and female American leader -knowing how critical the region is to American interests-should be able to see and appreciate the damage to American interests of forcing Muslim men to openly negotiate American interests with women. And should have declined the position in the best interests of the country.

There are very good reasons Muslim tradition and customs are considered Medieval. Simply desiring them not so does not make it not so-regardless of what Foggy Bottom would like to believe.
