Hillary's Lead Disintegrates: She Is Now Doing Worse Than In 2008, As Trump Surges

Tyler Durden's picture

Just when Hillary Clinton thought her political fiascoes would be the worst of her ongoing troubles as she glides through the Democrat primaries, and then takes on Trump sure to find a Warren Buffett-funded victory, suddenly everything appears to have gone wrong in what is most important to the scandal-ridden former Secretary of State and presidential contender: her second - and final - campaign for president.

According to WaPo, if one compares where Clinton is now in the Real Clear Politics polling average, the 2016 picture and the 2008 picture aren't really all that similar; in fact suddenly the trapdoor beneath Hillary appears to have sprung open. "Nationally, she was doing much better in 2008 than she is right now, perhaps in part because the anti-Clinton vote in 2008 was still split between two people -- Barack Obama and John Edwards -- instead of just one. But that recent trend line, a function of two new national polls that were close after a bit of a lull, is not very good news."

Not surprisingly, Clinton is trailing badly in New Hampshire, which is the home turf of her main socialist opponent. In 2008,

What little silver lining exists, is that in Iowa, Hillary is running a little better than she did in 2008, although as seen on the chart below even here her lead has plunged recently. In 2008 it wasn't until the last week that she fell out of the lead. She eventually came in third.

The problem remains the national race, and what's worse, if the 2008 past is prologue and if Hillary's lead in Iowa evaporates and she loses, it may be the end for the former first lady: back then she lost three-quarters of her lead after the caucuses although she did gain some of it back after her win in New Hampshire.

And while these numbers can easily change, one person who is certain to capitalize on Hillary's sudden collapse is Donald Trump, who as we showed recently has become the bookmakers' favorite after trailing badly as recently as September, even as Trump's republican competitors drop like flies on their own, the most recent casualty being Ben Carson whose campaign is all but over following news from CNN that Carson's campaign finance chairman Dean Parker submitted his resignation.

Finally, moments ago the WSJ reported that Donald Trump has opened a double-digit lead over his next-closest Republican rival, less than three weeks before the first votes of the 2016 presidential race are cast, a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll finds.

A third of Republican primary voters in the nationwide survey said they favored Mr. Trump to be the GOP nominee, followed by Texas Sen. Ted Cruz at 20% support, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio at 13% and retired pediatric neurosurgeon Ben Carson at 12%.

In December, Mr. Trump had led the No. 2 candidate, Mr. Cruz, by 5 percentage points. In the new poll, his lead widened to 13 points.

And so what was considered humor by most pundits as recently as last summer is becoming an all too possible reality: president Trump?

I dont care what anyone thinks. I would never vote for a woman to be anything but a care giver.

Nature didn't give them a womb to become president of a country.

You can call me any name that you want, but the fact is, women are not suppose to be in charge of anything but care giving. < thats a period!

The politicans see them as tax payers. The bankers see them as debt slaves.

But natural nature made them as care givers. <thats a period!

So you write that nature didn't give women a womb to become president of a country?  Well, nature didn't give men a penis to become president of a country, either.  Clintoon's lack of penis control sure got, um, Presidential.  And for such an UGLAY, skanky bitch, to boot.

If the mere fact that women have a womb (among other body parts) is your argument for "women are not suppose [sic] to be in charge of anything but care giving [sic]," then the logical correlation is, of course, the fact that men have a penis (among other body parts) is the argument for "men are not supposed to be in charge of anything but poking their penis into slits or sluts."

LoL! You're comparing a penis to a womb? You mean virgina, right?

I will say this. If a woman had only a virgina and a man only a penis, then ok. I would assume either one could be the family provider and leader.

But since a woman has a womb, I argue that a womans job is naturally a care giver and not a provider or leader.

Naturally speaking of course. In what animal kingdom do you see the female in charge of the pack?

However! The banksters and goobermints have built a world around them that requires all to work in order to serve them.

They broke the natural chain. and so, we hang by a thread.

I dont trust him anymore. At first I thought same but after watching how he "cooperated" with Hilary I know better. She should be in jail and he intentionally cover her on stage. After that I watched his mimic more and realized the pattern. He is lying and is not a honest person mark my words. He will in fact crush middle class further and help rich even more - especially if you focus on his solutions rather than his ranting. But, he is really good at it so I can understand majority dont see it yet.

Sanders has chutzpah. It is all for his idea of the Internationale, the rootless cosmopolitans. He wants to rule. He doesn't care about the USA or the world. It is all for his own, nazionists, beholden to the City of London banks.

Socialists, communists, and 'globalists' are all the same thing: tyranny.

Okay, folks.

On most betting and electronic market sites the Democratic chance of victory has been stalled in the 60 percent range for months.

That 60 percent is basically Hillary's chance. Sanders is not going to be the Democratic nominee unless Hillary is incapacitated or does something really idiotic. Obama was young, dark and handsome, appealing to non-whites and female low-info voters. Sanders is an old JINO with all the sex appeal of roadkill, and doesn't owe his career to Wall Street. Wall Street's real backup plan in that case would be a mainstream Republican nominee, with Sanders as the sacrificial Dem candidate.

Trump threw a spanner in the works, but he's not going to boost the GOP's chances of the White House while his nomination is in doubt. Right now his chances of the nomination are one in three and winning in November one in seven. Those chances are his chances of winning fraud-proof majorities in both the primaries and the election---15 points minimum.

GENIUS CRUZ seems to have neglected to disclose the 1 million dollars that Goldman Sachs--his wife's bosses--gave him for his governor's race, as required by campaign finance laws.

After getting caught, he's getting 'round to it.

That's what the American people need in the oval office-an ethically challenged Goldman Sachs whore.

Cruz not only looks like a weasel, he is a weasel. He's got a reputation among the "conservatives" as the heir to Reagan. Yeah, and he's also got a "flat tax" planned that just so happens to include handing over an entirely new taxing authority to the federal government. Just what they need! Yeah, and it's a VAT tax at that, the tax of tyrants, nanny states and banana republics.

Cruz is counting on "conservatives" to pull the lever based on the buzz word "flat tax" to weasel the VAT tax in. And he's succeeding among a lot of them because today's "conservatives" are brain dead, especially on economics.

I'm looking at Trump for 4 reasons: 1) His tax proposal would be an improvement and is probably the best possible politcally until repealing the 16th Amendment is on the table. 2) He recognized that invading Iraq was a mistake, and spoke out at the time, and he's not afraid to continue to say so. 3) He realizes that the markets are in a bubble that's bursting. 4) I don't think he's bullshitting when he talks about taking care of veterans, and I think he has sound ideas how to do so although at this point he is light on details.

People wonder, how the heck is Hillary still viable as a candidate?

Unfortunately, a fair percentage of the population have no moral scruples.  And it has been that way for decades.

In 1979, Ted Kennedy ran against incumbent Jimmy Carter in the Demorcratic primaries, and received 30 percent of the vote.

Thirty percent of Deomocratc primary voters were willing to overlook Ted Kennedy's involvement in the drowning death of a young woman.

Unfortuantely, I don't think that Hillary will be charged with a crime.

However, frankly I would notbe surprised if her health derails her campaign.  If she has just one fainting spell in public, it would be over for her.

The Donald's platform is hatred and division.

Unfortunately, most Americans have come to hate the fact that their way of life (artificially enjoying a higher standard of living) is coming to an end, and fear of the unknown, so he's extremely popular.

His tax plans favor the top 1%, he won't be building a wall to keep out illegals that his businesses employ, and it's basically impossible (and worse than the internment of the Japanese in WWII) to expel all Muslims in the US (4% of the population).

The Donald talks a mean line, but he's not going to turn his back on the racketeering global banking cabal that helped him build his empire.

And he's cowtowing to Israel already.

Hillary's even worse, who knew that was possible?
