Syria 4 Years On: Shocking Images Of A Post-US-Intervention Nation
While US intervention in its various forms has likely been ongoing for decades, March 2011 is often cited as the start of foreign involvement in the Syrian Civil War (refering to political, military and operational support to parties involved in the ongoing conflict in Syria, as well as active foreign involvement).
Since then the nation has collapsed into chaos with an endless array of superlatives possible to describe the economic and civilian carnage that has ensued.
However, while a picture can paint a thousand words, these four shocking images describe a canvas of US foreign policy "success" that few in the mainstream media would be willing to expose...

I don't understand any of it.
Destroy everything around Israel not firmly in banker control.
Looks like lots of "shovel ready" jobs in the making.
Holy Shit! Do you see all those broken windows? This is going to be a bonanza for the bankers.
Nice work, Obama. You've ruined another country.
And cowardly American presstitutes are co-responsible for this mass murder and crimes against humanity. They had a constitutional duty to inform and to do investigative reporting if necessary. They will be in the 2nd tier of those who earned the hangmans noose. Cowardice under fire is treason.
How cute. You still think Obama calls the shots.
He might not call them, but he certainly gets a say.
Highly doubtful. The guy is fucking community organizer. He's an order taker, pure and simple.
A happy order taker.
CFR
Exactly. If people keep believing the illusion and focusing on the decoy, the real criminals will continue to do their thing and round and round we go.
What can I say..fcuk Hillary and Obama for their Arab Spring hallucinations!!

Had a trip lined up for Damascus and Aleppo back in the mid 2000's, but divorce got in the way.
Syria - was - a treasure house of history - one of the richest in the world. Aleppo old town was a gem and almost untouched.
Now a giant smoking hole in the map that we still haven't seen the worst off yet.
One salient fact that gets completely overlooked in the MSM is the ongoing Assyrian Christian genocide. This genocide got started during World War 1 and has reached a crescendo with the destabilization of Iraq and the destruction of Syria.
"Today, the indigenous Assyrian homeland areas are "part of today's northern Iraq, southeastern Turkey, northwestern Iran and northeastern Syria".[43][44] Many have migrated outside of the indigenous Assyrian homeland areas to other regions in the Caucasus, Levant, United States, Canada, Australia and Europe during the past century or so.[45] Emigration was triggered by such events as the Assyrian Genocide by the Ottoman Empire during World War I, the Simele massacre in Iraq (1933), the Islamic revolution in Iran (1979), Arab Nationalist Baathist policies in Iraq and Syria, the Al-Anfal Campaign of Saddam Hussein[46] Most recently, the 2003 Iraq War and the Syrian Civil War that began in 2011 has displaced the regional Assyrian community, as its people have faced ethnic and religious persecution at the hands of Islamic extremists. Of the one million or more Iraqis reported by the United Nations to have fled Iraq since the occupation, nearly 40% are Assyrian, although Assyrians comprised around 3% of the pre-war Iraqi population.[47][48][49] According to a 2013 report by a Chaldean Syriac Assyrian Popular Council official, it is estimated that only 300,000 Assyrians remain in Iraq."

To my American friends: each day you look at your federal tax withholding on your paycheck,
think about the pictures of Syria in 2015, Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq, the mass migration of refugees into Europe, and the dead children.
Along with others who are losing their lives, you are paying for this destruction.
Feels good, right?
No?
If it doesn't, load your gun and shoot your television tonight during the democratic debates.
That would feel reeeeal good.
Actually, I'll hope Bernie puts Filthily in her place
Bernie won't be sending a nickel overseas, enriching Main Street instead of Wall Street, K St, and the MIC
She will carry on wiith status quo
Horse. Shit. Don't be an idiot.
A wise man once told me that, if the irs was sitting in a chair right next to your boss on payday and your boss handed you your paycheck. Then you had to step over and cut the irs a check for 18% of it, that there would be a serious shortage of irs employees.
Ya know? I believe he's right.
Smartest play they ever did was automatic required holding from employers.
Shooting the tv will accomplish nothing. The targets that matter are in Washington DC and Wall St.
That would feel reeeeal good.
True story. I broke off all contact with my brothers for that reason.
Because they shot their TVs inside the house?
No. It started with an argument over the destruction in the ME. They were all for it for the usual neocon bigoted reasons. Then it ended when they gave our father a military funeral. That was too personal for me to forgive.
Believe me, take your tv outside before you shoot it. I speak from experience, you will spend days cleaning up the ultra-fine glass particles all over the room otherwise. At least with the old fashion tube tvs.
"To my American friends: each day you look at your federal tax withholding on your paycheck,...
Along with others who are losing their lives, you are paying for this destruction."
Actually, I think my tax burden is still paying for the interest on money wasted and damage done by .gov long ago. A couple/few/a dozen generations down the line will be repaying the debt for shit .gov is destroying today. Even so, tax dollars are stolen from me before I see them, with threat of imprisonment. I don't like how .gov spends revenue and debt and my conscience is clear, other than the empathy I have for the victims, foreign and domestic.
Great job Think Tanks.
If such things happened in your home town, the majority of your neighbours would simply accept it as the new reality and not ask a lot of questions. Its worth keeping this in mind when people tell you the coming stock market collapse will "for sure" lead to revolution.
Got that sinking feeling yet...? You know, the sort of sobering feeling you get when you see what U.S. foreign policy has wrought over the past 30-odd years across the globe, from Georgia to Syria and you find yourself wondering if these horrors could ever be visited upon the 'exceptional' and 'indispensable' people...?
^^^this is the main stumbling block I have come up against in trying to wake others up. Most would rather live in blissful ignorance than accept the realities of things done in their name and with their money. It's like a cognitive dissonance defense mechanism.
But what is going on with Russia's involvement ? When it first started there were all these positive news reports - now not so much.
Russia's 'involvement' is primarily a function of letting the U.S. know that it will not have its way in the pursuit of cutting off Russia from a Syrian presence, nor its pursuit of thwarting Russian energy logistics in the ongoing effort to ring-fence and subsequently have Russia bowing as vassal to the Wolfowitz Doctrine.
I was really enjoying the rout too.
If you really want to see Syria before this shitshow heated up, check out the Top Gear Middle East Special: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_Gear_%28series_16%29#ep127
some eschatologists predict Israel (Pax Judea) taking the helm in the next go around. That implies ALL of its enemies must be neutered. That leaves Iran, at least in the ME
Fuck. Where those muzzy refugees came from looks almost civilised.
<<-- America and Americans.
<<-- Islam and muslims.
The world's biggest problem today is?
How about mammon and joos?
Team Amerika
Those pictures remind me of my marriage.
Those pictures are the result of arabs f*cking up their own country. And what they will do to the rest of the world, in the name of a non-existent god, if given a chance.
Those Arabs built the fucking place. It was outside intervention that destroyed it.
As for non-existent gods, isn't that all of them?
Yeah, outside intervention from other Sunni groups.
Not surprisingly we have done that with Napalm, spent uranium and everything else.. I guess it is worse than nuking them in Hiraopshima and Nagasaki.. surviors live to see the untolerable consequences.. Amazing creativity in warfare for more than half a trillion $ a year spent on creating mess all over the globe.. and then selling self-praise to people under the stupor of six-pack watching mindless boob tube.
The blowback from the world is going to be a bitch someday.
They (U.S. PTB) even told us in advance that Syria was on the list! Thank you General Wesley Clark. https://youtu.be/qOD2A3cUUS0
Keynesian wetdream.
Paul Krugman must have approved!
Any ZH-ers old enough to remember the 1970s & 80s will recognize the pattern. Latin America was the beta testing ground and template for U.S. policy in the Middle East. Multiple regime changes, "moderate" rebels we supported, "radical" rebels we opposed, secret funding, fears of Russia, even the return of hostages from Iran---all wrapped up in the same policies of belligerent paranoia and American exceptionalism. No one can accuse us of inconsistency.
Read any foreign policy speech from that era, and where it says "communism" substitute the word "terrorism." No other changes to the text will be necessary.
