Dow Dumps 150Pts Off Morning Highs As Oil Bounce Dies

Tyler Durden's picture

Remember when oil was in the green (because Iran was "priced in") and stocks were in the green (because China was "fixed") this morning? Well, that's over. The dip-buying algo's reflex has run the stops, filled the gaps to unchanged and now stocks and crude are turning lower once again.

Crude back in the red...

And stock-buying algos have run stops there too...

Algos run stops, its what they're designed to do, kick you out and make you re-enter...moar oil + static demand = less price.

“The first difference is I don’t take money from big banks. I don’t get personal speaking fees from Goldman Sachs,” Sanders said, eliciting a few jeers and boos from the audience…

“I find it very strange that a major financial institution that pays $5 billion in fines for breaking the law — not one of their executives is prosecuted, while kids who smoke marijuana, they get a jail sentence,” Sanders said.

Later, Sanders returned to the topic, vowing, “Goldman Sachs is not going to bring forth a secretary of the Treasury for a Sanders administration.”

Much, much worse.  When selling Obamacare, Obama only talked about how people who get cancer won't lose their homes.  Sounds great, right?  Obviously that small aspect was a gnat on the ass of a monstrosity.

On ObamaCare...

“We’ve accomplished so much already. I do not want to see the Republicans repeal it, and I don’t want to start over again with a contentious debate,” Clinton said. “To tear it up and start over again, pushing our country back into that kind of a contentious debate, I think is the wrong direction.”

No! We can't have a contentious debate on a proven non-solution where if you do not engage in a transaction with a private corporation you will be taxed by the state!...NOT NOW...NOT EVER!...lmao!

"Sanders called it a “disingenuous” attack. He made clear, as he did throughout the night, that he’s not satisfied with the status quo.

“No one is tearing this up. We’re going to go forward,” Sanders said.

So there...fucking FORWARD!

Obama didn't sell Obamacare.  He just did it.

What Americans were talking about in 2008 was Single Payer.  I believe that what Obama did, by creating Obamacare, was preempt Single Payer.  He did that to benefit insurance companies.  Single Payer would have nationalized healthcare but would not have paid insurance companies broker fees for it.

With Obamacare, Americans get the worst of all possible deals.  They have to pay healthcare for people who don't take care of their own health, and they also have to pay gazillions of dollars to insurance companies to do nothing.

I would prefer no nationalized healthcare.  But if America is going to have it, I think Americans would get a better deal with Single Payer than with Obamacare.

They made this bill so bad that the only "step forward" is single payer. They knew all of this shit, and it was discussed at the time, when they passed the law. That's why the bitch didn't really care when she said "we have to pass the bill to see what's in it". It was balls to the wall to pass this stinking pile of crap such that the "step forward" would be easier since it is the little guy that isn't getting a tax refund because he/she has to have "healthcare".

We.Are.Fucked.

Enough with the charlatan snake oil selling pitch of "Single Payer", why don't you just tell your "Useful Idiot" p voters what "Single Payer" is?

IT'S A BRAND NEW TAX ON THEM.

Isn't it?

Because .gov does such a wonderful job of balancing it's budget now...what-could-possibly-go-wrong-with-giving-it-moar-of-our-money!

Right?

Mon, 01/18/2016 - 10:57 | 7061561 12357111317
12357111317's picture

Since Americans are ALREADY paying for Obamacare, they are ALREADY paying that tax, so IT'S NOT A BRAND-NEW TAX.

Single-Payer is a better deal than Obamacare, because with Single-Payer, Americans only pay for health care, whereas with Obamacare, Americans pay for healthcare AND the enormous amount which insurance companies add on.  We have all noticed that the best "performing" stocks since Obamacare was created have been the insurance companies, aka "health care companies".

Mon, 01/18/2016 - 11:18 | 7061657 FreedomGuy
FreedomGuy's picture

Single payer is only better when you know nothing about healthcare. If the government is so great at running healthcare explain the VA where they have 100% control. Medicaid and Medicare are simply government payment systems much like an insurance company. Their payments are so pitiful that most doctors refuse or limit those patients. What do you think will happen to payments when government is 100% of the market? I can tell you. Go to a 100% Medicaid clinic that does NOT also have separate funding from the other sources. It is the ghetto of medical care.

Your private insurance has always subsidized the stupid govenment plans. That is part of why American insurance is so expensive. Also, American medicine has subsidized European medicine in roughly the same way we subsidize their miniscule defense spending. In essence, medical companies develop products for the U.S. market where they can make money and then deal with the autocratic negotiations with European systems. Canada can seize patents if you do not give them the price they want.

So, you and lots of others have fallen for the ploy. It is to make Obamacare so painful that single-payer looks good. "Let the government do it." is the eternal cry from the simpleton.

Mon, 01/18/2016 - 11:28 | 7061701 nmewn
nmewn's picture

It IS a brand new tax BECAUSE you don't pay taxes to corporations (only to governments), in fact, you don't have to do business with a corporation AT ALL if you don't want to.

THAT IS AT LEAST BEFORE OBAMACARE RUINED ANY CONCEPT OF TAX LAW IN YOUR MIND AND "CHANGED" THE RULES OF THE GAME.

And yes, the socialist-fascist "health care sector" is in fact one of my shorts.

I didn't make the rules of this game but I do intend to get every fucking nickel that was STOLEN FROM ME BACK, plus commissions, plus taxes, plus interest, plus them fucking around with my time for having to do so.

And I'll add (because I'm carryng on multiple conversations on different threads) his boi Burnie himself calls it a new tax and an increase in taxation, from just last night...

SANDERS: What is correct, and I'm disappointed that Secretary Clinton's campaign has made this criticism. It's a Republican criticism. Secretary Clinton does know a lot about healthcare, and she understands, I believe, that a medicare for all, single payer program will substantially lower the cost of healthcare for middle class families. So, what we have got to acknowledge, and I hope the Secretary does, is we are doing away with private health insurance premiums.

SANDERS: So, if I save you $10,000 in private health insurance, and you pay a little bit more in taxes in total, there are huge savings in what your family is spending.

Sanders can crash it without any help.  He will run the government more honestly, and try to deliver on his promises, but the US will not dig itself out of 18 trillion in debt with a Sanders socialist agenda.
