Oil Spikes Near $33 After Turkey-To-Invade-Syria Rumor
Yesterday it was chatter of 6 (non-Saudi) OPEC members agreeing to an emergency meeting (to do what exactly?) that ramped crude (despite dismal production, inventories, and demand data). Today it is talk of Turkey potentially invading Syria from the Russian defense minister...
“We have serious grounds to suspect intensive preparations by Turkey for a military invasion on the territory of the sovereign state of Syria,” Major General Igor Konashenkov, Defense Ministry spokesman, told journalists.
And crude is spiking back toward $33..
As RT reports, developments on the Turkish-Syrian border give serious grounds to suspect that Ankara is planning a military invasion in Syria, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
“We are recording more and more signs of concealed preparations by the Turkish military,” he added.

I suppose Damascus will fall sooner or later.
Every fucking day some stupid farce rumor! What a joke. Someone (probably Goldman) starts a rumor and cashes in on the up tick. Then switches the trade at the peak and retracks the rumor.
manipulation is legal provided its performed by insiders
Sure, Russia will allow Erdogan's personal fortune games to take Syria...Sheesh
WW3 here we come, fucking assholes.
Personally I'm not a fan of my family or anybody else's gettin vaporized. I'd much rather see the asshole's in washington burn so we don't get to that point.

Yup, it is all BS until the Saudies say that they will cut production. Who cares if Turkey invades, they were already buying the oil from ISIS, they will just cut out the middle man.
All going to plan....

It's amazing how people misinterpret Scripture. There is not geographical territory in the Bible called Israel. Israel is a people, not a geographical country that was created via deception in 1948.
On top of it the people called Israel don't have a clue who they are in this age. That is why Jesus called them "lost".
It is not of man to know about the end days. Only of God.

Empire of Chaos @ work.
The Nobel Prize Winner has given permission to his puppet, Erdogan, to invade Syria? Putin will blast any Turkish invasion to bits. Stupid and criminal as Erdogan may be, he is not suicidal.
Yes, the spice must flow....
Same as it ever was...
draw russia into a much bigger conflict. i get it, they took the bait yet? hmmm, sumthing tell me russia not so stupid...
Ukraine and the fighter jet shot down by Turkey was bait.
They will choose when to bite.
We need to see how well that Russian electronic warfare technology really works.
They took over US drones over Iran. And some recent probable GPS manipulation on US naval vessels.
so dead people == profit... got it. ./
Only when governments can take money from you to give to cronyists for it. Then, yeah, dead people == profit.
So Chamberlain/Obama has given us Peace in Our Time....
Turkey invade Syria while the Russians are drooling for their blood? I think the Russians are having wet dreams.
Vlad, get those cruise missiles on red alert and toast any Turks that come across the border.
Then hit their biggest military bases.
you tell me............

Moar skulduggery by Hitlary?
"Welcome to my parlor," said the spider to the fly.
Game on?
Another tease?
I'll never understand the BFD about oil at $30. or down at $25. It's all the same... no news. Let me know when it gets back to $45 and the frackers pile back in and take it back to $27.
I have it on good authority that the bus I am on is about to invade Pittsburgh.
Now please - buy some oil!
That's one way to solve the refugee crisis.
Kill em all before they can leave.
Easier to manipulate just oil than an entire market to juice results. Seems that is the game these days?
Yep. But just look at how Pavlov's dogs jump on this red meat here on ZH.
It works. Well.
hurry and buy oil now! WORRY ABOUT WHERE TO ACTUALLY STORE OIL AS CUSHING HITS CAPACITY WHEN THE TANKERS FULL OF OIL ARRIVE AT THE DOOR OF OUR HEDGE FUND????
Funny how all the rumors these days support the market vs. the other way around. Years ago, war, employee cuts, etc. would have hammered the markets...no more.
Yellen is so afraid of the speech she has to buy oil futures and destroy another free market. If anything, she needs mental counselling not to be a fed chairman.
quick... short turkey
Russia would bring in the tactical nuclear weapons for experimental use against large troop movements if it happens.
Turkey has to find a way to keep the rebel factions in Syria from being overwhelmed in piecemeal fashion. It cannot allow the Kurdish YPG from sealing the border with Syria. At some point, if unopposed by Turkey, either the SAA or YPG will accomplish these aims.
A rapid assault, lasting 48 hours max and at the cost of significant casualties, could enable the Turks to take tactically important positions within Syria that would block these two groups from achieving their goals. Then Turkey would "accept" a US-proposed ceasefire; and an interminable period of negotiations will ensue.
The Russians would either have to counterattack immediately -SAA and YPG on the ground, Russian Air Forces and missile forces in the air- or else accept that the Turks have stopped the resurgence of the Syrian Arabs and the Syrian Kurds. At the same moment that the Turks attack and the Russian/SAA/YPG/Iran/Hezbollah forces respond, Russia will demand that NATO/US restrain Turkey.
If the Russians fold, they will lose more than prestige and the initiative in the MidEast. It will restart the assault on the Donbass with a renewed conviction that Russia will let the Donbass go rather than fight for it. So, Russia has to respond aggressively. Unless the Turks are cowed quickly by events on the ground, the Turks will close the Boshorous Straits to Russia. The Russians will have to go to all-out war with Turkey if that occurs. Turkey would then invoke the "attack on one is an attack on all" provision of the NATO treaty. The US/NATO will either have to determine that Turkey is the aggressor, and therefore the self-defense assertion would be denied; or the third world war will have begun.
Erdogan is playing a dangerous game. And it is not a game of "chicken" either. He is not bluffing.
Turkey will have a hard time invading Syria, there are reports of Russian S400 systems in theater. Couple that with Russian fighter jets, Turkish F-16's won't have much of a prayer which means no close air-support for Turkish "boots on the ground". I don't think it will be a bloodbath (well minus the poor slobs doing the invading) but it will certainly kick tensions into high gear and set the stage for dumb mistakes later that draw the U.S. in. Then it becomes "game on" for a massive war in that area. We are still a ways off from anything global at this point.
double post..my bad

Or Game of Thrones, Three Stooges edition
If Erdogan invades Syria, we can expect to see columns of Turkish military hardware crossing the border. That'll be the cue for Russia to go on a Turkey shoot.
Once Turkish forces cross the border, Erdogan cannot claim Turkey was invaded by Russia and rely on NATO forces to protect him, although the gameplan might be to do exactly that and kickstart WWIII.
Ergonad must go!
