Justice Scalia Found Dead "With Pillow Over His Head", But No Autopsy Ordered

Tyler Durden's picture

The death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia on Saturday morning has taken a turn for the conspiracy-theorist following comments from the Houston businessman who discovered the judge's body.

This is the news as it was delivered to the general public yesterday morning:

A federal official who asked not to be named said there was no evidence of foul play and it appeared that Scalia died of natural causes.

According to CNN, Scalia died in his sleep. A government official said Scalia went to bed Friday night and told friends he wasn't feeling well. Saturday morning, he didn't get up for breakfast. And the group he was with for a hunting trip left without him.

Someone at the ranch went in to check on him and found him unresponsive.

So - a sad death with the elderly judge passing quietly in his sleep - completely reasonable.

Except as San Antonio Express - which first broke the news of Scalia's death on Saturday afternoon - reports, that "someone" was John Poindexter, owner of the 30,000-acre luxury ranch who is reported to have said the following...

"We discovered the judge in bed, a pillow over his head. His bed clothes were unwrinkled," said Poindexter.

"He was lying very restfully. It looked like he had not quite awakened from a nap," he said.

Scalia,79, did not have a pulse and his body was cold, and after consulting with a doctor at a hospital in Alpine, Poindexter concluded resuscitation would have been futile, He then contacted federal authorities, at first encountering a series of answering services because he was calling on a weekend.

While it is of course a "natural" thing to die if someone is suffocating you with a pillow, we sense that is not the norm for "natural causes."

Adding further to the questions surrounding the death, there will be no autopsy performed on Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, a source familiar with the case confirmed to CNN.

The decision for no autopsy was made both by the family and the Texas Justice of the Peace, the source said.

Scalia’s death marks only the second time in sixty years a justice has died before retiring from the Court, and leaves the Court split 4-4 between fairly conservative and fairly liberal, during a heated presidential election year.

the way we'll eventually know if Scalia's death was legit or not, is if the Senate confirms whomever Oblahma nominates, prior to the end of O's term.  Senate has already vehemently asserted that they will delay the confirmation process until after O is gone.

Of course all deaths are not murders and most happen naturally.   However those in power will use murder as a tool to achieve their goals.

The guy was 79 and it was his family that requested there be no autopsy.  I sleep with a pillow over my face...    There are LOTS of reasons to consider consipracy theories out there...   Back and to the left,  WT7, etc..  not sure this one of em.

Whilst I have zero idea who perpetrated this particular episodic incident, arguably, apparent, murder... I'd <3 to hear your 'enlightened' dance on this one...

& whilst I'm 100% positive that your reply will revolve around some nebulous, never to be identified, evil conclave, I'm also 100% certain that your CREATIVE reply will (despite the 'shekel paid' red arrows, which confuse SOME idiots), elicit a bunch of giggles from those of us whe REALLY know what's going on & aren't afraid to speak about it...

Matt Drudge said a Supreme Court Justice told him recently "you're finished, they are coming after you for linking on copyright law. They are going to shut down the entire alternative media. And what you are doing now is dangerous."

It is thought to be Scalia who spoke with Drudge warning him.

Rand Paul

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) on Monday weighed in on the Senate’s upcoming battle with President Obama over the next Supreme Court nominee, saying he believes Obama “has a conflict of interest” in appointing somebody to fill the late Justice Antonin Scalia’s seat.

Appearing on conservative Kentucky radio host Leland Conway’s show, the former Republican presidential candidate said he would likely oppose any Obama pick for the Supreme Court, because he believes Obama has too many of his own policies at stake before the high court — his executive actions on immigration and climate change regulations, for example.

“The president has said he has the power basically to create immigration law out of nothing,” Paul said. “He says he has the power to basically cripple entire industries like coal without ever having been given that power by Congress. So see, we have a Constitutional debate on whose powers is it, the president or Congress? And I think the president sort of has a conflict of interest here in appointing somebody while we’re trying to decide whether or not he’s usurped power.”

Under the Appointments Clause of the U.S. Constitution, presidents have the power to appoint Supreme Court justices with the “advice and consent” of the U.S. Senate. Paul clarified that he agrees the president has the power to appoint someone to replace Scalia, but that he likely would not give his consent to do so.

“It’s going to be very, very, very difficult to get me to vote for a presidential nomination from this president,” he said. “I will look at it if it comes down, but my threshold for voting for somebody is going to be very, very high.”

The Alarmist's picture

At first when I saw the name John Poindexter, I thought, "Hmmm, that dude from Iran Contra who had more than a few ex Reagan administration types die mysterious deaths around him found a Reagan SCOTUS appointee dead in his ranch. Then I hear it is another John Poindexter who was an Obama donor (have not fact checked this). But one thing we cannot escape is that, like JFK, another influential senior government official buys the farm deep in the dark heart of Texas.

Chris Dakota's picture

John Poindexter is also former DARPA.

He was quietly negotiating to buy adjoining to his ranch, 46,000 acres of Big Bend Ranch State Park for only 2 million dollars.

“As a former homicide commander, I am stunned that no autopsy was
ordered for Justice Scalia,” William O. Ritchie, former head of criminal
investigations for D.C. police, wrote in a post on Facebook onSunday.

Scalia
was found dead in his room at a luxury hunting resort in the state’s
Big Bend region by the resort’s owner. It took hours for authorities to
find a justice of the peace. When they did, Presidio County Judge
Cinderela Guevara pronounced Scalia dead of natural causes without
seeing the body — which is permissible under Texas law — and without
ordering an autopsy.

On Sunday, the U.S. Marshals Service, which
provides security for Supreme Court justices, said that Scalia had
declined a security detail while at the ranch, so marshals were not
present when he died. When the marshals were notified, deputy marshals
from the Western District of Texas went to the scene, the service said
in a statement.

Guevara said she declared Scalia dead based on
information from law enforcement officials on the scene, who assured her
that “there were no signs of foul play.” She also spoke to Scalia’s
doctor, who told her that the justice had been to see him Wednesday and
Thursday last week for a shoulder injury and that he had ordered an MRI
for Scalia, according to WFAA-TV in Dallas. The
79-year-old justice also suffered from several chronic conditions,
Guevara said. She said she was awaiting a statement from the
physician to complete Scalia’s death certificate.

The manager of
the El Paso funeral home that handled Scalia’s body said Scalia’s family
insisted against an autopsy. But the decision has spawned a host of conspiracy theories online, as well as skeptical questions from law enforcement experts such as Ritchie.

“You
have a Supreme Court Justice who died, not in attendance of a
physician,” he wrote. “You have a non-homicide trained US Marshal tell
the justice of peace that no foul play was observed. You have a justice
of the peace pronounce death while not being on the scene and without
any medical training opining that the justice died of a heart attack.
What medical proof exists of a myocardial Infarction? Why not a cerebral
hemorrhage?”

In an interview with The Washington Post, Guevara
has said she rebutted a report by a Dallas TV station that Scalia had
died of “myocardial infarction.” She said she meant only that his heart
had stopped.

Ritchie also raised questions about the marshals’ actions:

“How
can the Marshal say, without a thorough post mortem, that he was not
injected with an illegal substance that would simulate a heart attack…”

“Did
the US Marshal check for petechial hemorrhage in his eyes or under his
lips that would have suggested suffocation? Did the US Marshal smell his
breath for any unusual odor that might suggest poisoning? My gut tells
me there is something fishy going on in Texas.”

A
spokesman for the marshals service said Monday that the marshals did not
make a formal determination of death. He directed questions to the
county judge who made the call.

Scalia’s physician, Brian
Monahan, is a U.S. Navy rear admiral and the attending physician for the
U.S. Congress and Supreme Court. He declined to comment on Scalia’s
health when reached by telephone Monday at his home in Maryland.

“Patient confidentiality forbids me to make any comment on the subject,” he said.

When
asked whether he planned to make public the statement he’s preparing
for Guevara, Monahan repeated the same statement and hung up on a
reporter.

why would he be killed? he already was so out there as to vote corporations have the same rights as natural born citizens. he was no threat to the destroyers of the republic.

ShortCommonSense's picture

They didn't actually give corps the same rights as citizens, they just lifted a ban on people spending their money.  You do realize that without citizens united decision, rich business owners would take their money out personally and run all the political ads they wanted, I don't see what difference it makes if they do it 'personally' or officially as a business;  tbh, it makes the corruption at least slightly more trackable.  Now, I don't like all the money in politics either, but to me, you either need to take ALL money out, and make it a small public funded affair, or you allow freedom to spend one's money as you see fit, and let the cards fall where they may.  There's nothing stopping you and some buddies from pooling money together and running attack ads on candidates you don't like, while seeking donations from other likeminded individuals to run more ads.  If I had more money, and wanted to spend it in support of a candidate I liked, I feel I should be free to do so.  However, there are very short limits on donations to campaigns and parties, but there are no limits on running your own campaign, or your own ads about politics or anything else you like.  I don't really see the big logical discrepancy to this, and why people get so upset about citizens united.  "Oh noes, rich people who were buying elections are now buying elections in a slightly different way."

As if they, or anyone else with money, aren't already free to buy influence from those who give it away so cheaply.

KesselRunin12Parsecs's picture

So, to clarify your simple POV, you'd say 'evil is increasing', correct? If it is increasing, it means that there was less evil before, correct?

Would you agree to the notion that some of the 'Founding Fathers' of what became the United States (George Washington, Ben Franklin, etc. and others framers of The Constitution), were 'less evil' than the 'groups' who run the show today?

Why do we need an autopsy?

The "official" says she "was asked" to pronounce him dead, over the phone, and definitively stated he

"probably, most likely died of natural causes."

because those present said he was "cold" and "no foul play was evident".

His son was supposed to accompany him, but he unexpectedly backed out, same for his security detail, a no show.

what's to suspect?

THIS. Conspiracy theory or not, it is fucking insane that there was no autopsy performed on a sitting justice. What fucking world to we live in? Honestly at this point, even if it wasn't murder, someone needs to be punished for feeding the conspiracy theory generator.

On Friday night, I watched Eyes Wide Shut.  On Friday night (or Saturday morning) Scalia 'dies'.

Just a guess, but I am assuming Scalia was at "one of those" kinds of parties?  And because the  entire premises is all insiders, they decided it was as good a time as any to "let" Scalia die?

Dollarmedes's picture

So assassins managed to infiltrate Scalia's bedroom, kill him by suffocation, then just forgot to rearrange the pillows? Yeah, sounds totally plausible! LOL

Took Red Pill's picture

I was thinking the same thing! If he was suffocated with the pillow, how hard is it to put it back? Plus, wouldn't someone being suffocated struggle and mess up the bed?
