Paul Craig Roberts: Murder Is Washington's Foreign Policy

Tyler Durden's picture

Authored by Paul Craig Roberts,

Washington has a long history of massacring people, for example, the destruction of the Plains Indians by the Union war criminals Sherman and Sheridan and the atomic bombs dropped on Japanese civilian populations, but Washington has progressed from periodic massacres to fulltime massacring. From the Clinton regime forward, massacre of civilians has become a defining characteristic of the United States of America.

Washington is responsible for the destruction of Yugoslavia and Serbia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, and part of Syria. Washington has enabled Saudi Arabia’s attack on Yemen, Ukraine’s attack on its former Russian provinces, and Israel’s destruction of Palestine and the Palestinian people.

The American state’s murderous rampage through the Middle East and North Africa was enabled by the Europeans who provided diplomatic and military cover for Washington’s crimes. Today the Europeans are suffering the consequences as they are over-run by millions of refugees from Washington’s wars. The German women who are raped by the refugees can blame their chancellor, a Washington puppet, for enabling the carnage from which refugees flee to Europe.

In the article below Mattea Kramer points out that Washington has added to its crimes the mass murder of civilians with drones and missile strikes on weddings, funerals, children’s soccer games, medical centers and people’s homes. Nothing can better illustrate the absence of moral integrity and moral conscience of the American state and the population that tolerates it than the cavalier disregard of the thousands of murdered innocents as “collateral damage.”

If there is any outcry from Washington’s European, Canadian, Australian, and Japanese vassals, it is too muted to be heard in the US.

As Kramer points out, American presidential hopefuls are competing on the basis of who will commit the worst war crimes. A leading candidate has endorsed torture, despite its prohibition under US and international law. The candidate proclaims that “torture works” — as if that is a justification — despite the fact that experts know that it does not work. Almost everyone being tortured will say anything in order to stop the torture. Most of those tortured in the “war on terror” have proven to have been innocents. They don’t know the answers to the questions even if they were prepared to give truthful answers. Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn relates that Soviet dissidents likely to be picked up and tortured by the Soviet secret police would memorize names on gravestones in order to comply with demands for the names of their accomplices. In this way, torture victims could comply with demands without endangering innocents.

Washington’s use of invasion, bombings, and murder by drone as its principle weapon against terrorists is mindless. It shows a government devoid of all intelligence, focused on killing alone. Even a fool understands that violence creates terrorists. Washington hasn’t even the intelligence of fools.

The American state now subjects US citizens to execution without due process of law despite the strict prohibition by the US Constitution. Washington’s lawlessness toward others now extends to the American people themselves.

The only possible conclusion is that under Clinton, George W. Bush, and Obama the US government has become an unaccountable, lawless, criminal organization and is a danger to the entire world and its own citizens.

War, plain and simple. If they'd had the ability and numbers, the plains indians would have happily done the same thing; as it was, indians regularly killed entire tribes of other indians and made slaves of the survivors -not to mention what they did to white settlers...

So why is it that whites are the only people ever held accountable for any atrocities? Because we should have 'known' better? Why is that; are whites automatically held by some higher moral or ethical standard than anyone else on the planet?

It's very possible Kennedy was killed by the military. Kennedy wanted out of Vietnam plus the generals wanted him to bomb the snot out of Cuba and then invade it during the missile crisis and of course he said no. The plan to nuke the USSR back to the stone age was more than just a plan to keep stratagists busy but was the real thing. The generals wanted it bad.

No, PCR is safe, he is repeating THE BIG LIE.

"Torture doesn't work, therefore we shouldn't do it"

I can understand why the MASSIVE logical failure in that statement might elude in the ZH crowd, but PCR should know better.

... and on a related (but snarky level)... of course torture works... the victim says exactly what the the torturers want to hear, so that the State has justification for next round of collateral damage.

You want the truth? You can't handle the truth!

Truth has nothing to do with torture, or the pubic debate surrounding torture.

peddling-fiction's picture

Torture can be about splitting somebody´s personality for someone´s gain.

This is a known side effect since at least Egyptian times.

Help Is Not Coming's picture

And remember, torture isn't illegal in the United States. It is "unlawful" because Eric Holder U.S. Attorney General said so.

Second, Mr. Snowden will not be tortured. Torture is unlawful in the United States. - Eric Holder, U.S. Attorney General in a letter to Russian Justice Minister Konovalov

Note that he didn't say it was "illegal" but that it was "unlawful". If it was illegal he would have said so. You know when the Attorney General sends out a public letter there is literally an army of lawyers pouring over every word and nuance making sure that it is legally correct.

So now we know according to the U.S. Gov't that there is no law that prevents the torture of anyone. The Gov't will still have committed a wrong as it is unlawful to torture someone but evidently there is no law preventing it.

Demdere's picture

The only rational explanation for all of this is that it is the goal, all part of the balkanization of the world to benefit Israeli-Neocon mafia, deep state mafia, MIC sales, bankster mafias, ...

This is a mafia rules world they have produced, how did everyone think it was going to work?  It works by mafia rules, "whatever you can get away with".

False flag operations are not run by countries operating under constitutions and careful adherence to laws, so facing up to 9/11 False Flag Operation and Sandy Hoaxen in their multiplying stupidity is facing up to the quite amazing corruption that has lost $2.3T (admitted) and we have no clue how much that really is.  Our system is so amazingly corrupt nobody can afford to notice 9/11 FF and there mere 1000s dead there and 100s of 1000s around the world and mere couple of $Ts.  It wsould stop the gravy train.

Way way past time to fix this problem.  Do not understtimate our opponents, this was planned for a long time.  Not at all the conspiracy everyone thinks, mafias with military arms not NWO, tho it is hard to be sure how different they are.

what about domestic policy? south central los angeles, waco texas, sterilising black women in the name of government progress and welfare reform, what about giving diseases to blacks in the military, is that murder? do i have to keep going...small pox, mkultra...come on...

You can't really blame PCR for the failure of the American People to comprehend or even read the unpleasant news, presented by PCR. Plausilbe deniability, or cowardice, or sheer stupidity... doesn't matter, in the end, all of it leads to complicity in the crimes / offenses.

Don't know whether PCR woke up or was always a good guy.

not dead yet's picture

PCR isn't in the mainstream of America. With the whole US media afraid to print or broadcast anything that displeases the government the general population gets fed the usual pablum. What you complainers of American complacency fail to realize is that we have been propagandized from birth that the US is the exceptional nation that does nothing wrong and the world would fall apart without us. For instance watch an old war movie and all American soldiers are brave and moral while the enemy is the devil that tortures and mutilates all in it's path. Even in other movies we grew up with the Americans were the good guys and the foreigners despicable fiends. CIA, MI6 good and on the side of the angels everyone else bad. As kids our cartoons were packed with this propaganda. So when confronted with the real deal of US exceptionalism in murder and mayhem it's understandable why they refuse to believe.

Guys like PCR, who have operated first-hand in the bowels of the beast,  deny them their safe zones, and that is a good thing.

Trying to equate WWII and the atomic bombs dropped on Japan is stupid. Japan too had plans for an individual behind every blade of grass, even if they were not like America. I remeber vividly the CIA coup in Chile, they entered president's Allende's office and killed him point blank.

Pinochet was the man chosen by the CIA  who was bribed by the American "united fruit company" .

Chile is at the end of the continent and the US had no strategic interest there, they killed thousands of people simply to show they are the bosses of the continent.

I know Sanders since he was the mayor of Burlington vermont, I even shook hands with  him while I was shpping and he was campaigning in downtown Burlington.

Unfortunately his record in congress is too left to my tase, but he is a good man to be a senator but not president as I do not wish to share my money with everybody, I worked very hard to make what I have and I already pay too much taxes as my family income is quite high.

The country is not ready to go beyong Obama's socialism .

He has shown to be a good campaigner but he has to go after hillary' crimes and he is not doing it because eventually he will support her at the end.

he is staying in the race in case she is indicted , but little does he know  that the plan to replace her at the convention is already prepared which explain why Biden did not run, yet he will be the chosen one, as Hillary will be indicted and will be offered by Obama a pardon if she quit the race.

Trump is banking on a huge chunk of Sander's voters and this explain why he is moving to the center after securing the red states.

Tremendous strategic skills by Trump.

g speed's picture
about that Hillary thing ------found in a local newspaper----- My name is Ed Coet. I am a retired US Army Intelligence Officer. In my last job in the army I was the Chief of the Human Intelligence Branch for the US European Command in Stuttgart, Germany. In that capacity I was also the Designated Program Manager for a Special Access Program (SAP) like the SAP that Hillary Clinton is alleged to have compromised in the most recent State Department Inspector General report to congress and which has been widely reported in the news. Here is what I personally know about SAP’s and what I can attest to in an unclassified forum:   1. The names of each SAP are themselves classified Top Secret because the information within the SAP are far and above Top Secret. 2. SAP’s are so sensitive that even people who have security clearances giving them access to Top Secret Sensitive Compartment Information (TS SCI), an enormously high security clearance level, cannot have accesses to a SAP’s unless they receive a special indoctrination into the SAP based on an operational “must know” that exceeds all other “need to know” standards. 3. Being “read on” for a SAP is far more then acknowledging in writing that you have been briefed on the SAP. It is an in-depth “indoctrination” into the given SAP, and each SAP is itself compartmented separately from other SAPS. Having access to one SAP does not give you access to another SAP, and in fact rarely does. Only a tiny handful of people have knowledge of all SAP’s. SAP’s are the most stringently compartmented and protected information in the entire US government. 4. Unlike Top Secret SCI which is maintained in highly secure Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilitates (SCIF’s) managed by specially trained Special Security Officers (SSO’s) at various levels of command, every single SAP is managed by an individually designated Program Manager for each individual SAP covering an entire theater of operations. In other words, SAP Program Managers are far fewer in number than there is SSO’s. SSO’s are not cleared to even know about SAP’s or to maintain information about them in their already enormously secure SCIF’s. How SAP’s are secured cannot be discussed because of the sensitive beyond Top Secret nature in which it is done. 5. Unlike individuals with the highest Top Secret SCI access security clearances, who must undergo a special background information with periodic “bring-up” background investigation, those tiny few who have access to SAP’s must also endure periodic polygraph tests in addition to the most comprehensive of special background investigations. I used to have to schedule four-star generals and admirals to be polygraphed in order for them to maintain their access to my SAP. Many generals and admirals who obviously have the highest security clearances still did not rate being indoctrinated into my SAP. In fact, they didn’t even know the SAP existed. 6. Compromise of a SAP is the single most dangerous security violation that can ever happen to the USA. Even the enormously damaging revelations of the Edward Snowden’s TOP Secret SCI security compromise does not reach the level of a SAP compromise. 7. To put SAP information in to an unsecure sever like Hillary Clinton’s unsecure server is a class one felony that could, in some cases, result in life in prison. That is because such a compromise is so dangerous that it could and likely will result in the death of people protected by and within the scope of the SAP. As a former SAP Program Manager I believe it is inconceivable that if it is verified that Hillary Clinton’s server actually had SAP information on it that she could possibly escape indictment and criminal prosecution. As hard as it is to imagine, that would even be worse then electing to not prosecute a mass murdering serial killer because even they could not inflict as much damage on our country as the compromise of a SAP. Compromise of a SAP not only could — but without doubt would — cause serious damage to our national security. If it is true that Hillary Clinton had SAP information on her unsecure server, whether it was marked or not, you can be sure that the FBI will strongly recommend that charges be brought against Hillary Clinton and continue in an exhaustive investigation to trace back to every single person that had even the tiniest role in this unbelievable security compromise. If the Attorney General, through “prosecutorial discretion,” elected not to prosecute this crime, I believe congress would have no alternative but to impeach her, and the FBI would then have no choice but to conduct a criminal investigation of her for a deliberate cover up –- so grave is this security violation. If President Obama were to pardon Hillary Clinton for a compromise of this magnitude he would render himself in the historical record as an “enemy of the state,” and could himself face criminal prosecution –- so grave is such a security compromise. Nobody, not even the POTUS could gets away with something like this in our system of government. If anyone could escape persecution for compromising a SAP, we are deep trouble as a nation. No president who loves this country and is true to his oath would ever allow anyone, not even his or her closest and most loved relative, to get away with a SAP compromise. It is simply unimaginable that this could ever happen.

If the ongoing investigation finds that Hillary Clinton compromised a SAP, then we all should know with certainty, regardless of political persuasion, that she is entirely unfit to hold public office of any kind let alone President of the USA — and ALL Americans should never tolerate it. Compromising a SAP is an absolute “disqualifier” for public office and access to our nations most sensitive information – period.
