Caught On Tape: U.S. Plane Allegedly Drops Weapons for ISIS Militants in Iraq

Tyler Durden's picture

One day after reprorting that British military information services Janes, had found confirmation of several shipments amounting to 3,000 tons of weapons and ammo to Al-Qaeda linked Syrian rebels in a transport solicitation on the U.S. government website, today Veterans Today goes deeper into the rabbit hole and reports that several Iraqi policemen claim to have seen US aircraft dropping weapons and munitions for ISIS terrorists in a region west of the Anbar province on Friday.

According to VT, in a video posted on Iraq’s al-Maaloomah news website on Sunday, the policemen are purportedly heard saying that the American plane had also jammed their communication devices in the Hadisah Island district.

"There is an American aircraft seen at four o’clock in the morning on Friday over the Hadisah Island district of the Anbar province, delivering weapons and munitions to ISIS criminals," one of the policemen says.

"The plane proceeded to jam radar devices of the police regiment stationed in Hadisah Island to prevent contact between the affiliates and the headquarters of the regiment," he added.

The man said they had seen a military vehicle of ISIS arriving in the region a few minutes later and transferring the weapons to the place the group controlled.

In the video, the man and his associates are heard appealing to Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi to follow up the issue.

VT adds that the Iraqi army and the volunteer Hashd al-Shaabi forces liberated the district from ISIS terrorists just last month. The US may have different plans, however.

Ironically, this took place just hours after US SecState John Kerry visited Baghdad on Frday, where he said ISIS was losing ground, including more than 40 percent of the territory that they once controlled in the country.

President Barack Obama is reportedly weighing an increase in the number of American troops in Iraq but Kerry said there had been no formal request from the Iraqis and the issue had not been raised on Friday.

Even more curiously, the Daily Beast reported last week that there are at least 12 U.S. generals in Iraq, "a stunningly high number for a war that, if you believe the White House talking points, doesn’t involve American troops in combat. And that number is, if anything, a conservative estimate, not taking into account the flag officers running the U.S. air war, the admirals helping wage the war from the sea, or their superiors back at the Pentagon."

For now any additional deployments are being kept under the curtain of fighting ISIS: the US, officials said, looked to "accelerate recent gains" against ISIS.

Further to that, recall that as reported this morning, the US Air Force deployed B-52 bombers to Qatar, the first time they have been based in the Middle East since the end of the Persian Gulf War in 1991.

“The B-52 demonstrates our continued resolve to apply persistent pressure on Daesh and defend the region in any future contingency,” said Charles Brown, commander of US Air Forces Central Command.

Contingecy such as carpet bombing and paradropping supplies to unknown recipients?

But back to the alleged US delivery of weapons for ISIS - it would not be the first time this has happened. In October 2014, ISIS released a new video in which it bragged it recovered weapons and supplies that the US military intended to deliver to Kurdish fighters in the Syrian city of Kobani.

Some Iraqi MPs have also accused the US of deliberately arming ISIS, citing an arms air-drop case in Tikrit, but government officials have rejected it.

In Syria, the US military has airdropped tons of ammunition to Al Qaeda-linked rebels and militants.

If all this US weaponry is indeed ending up in Al Nusra and/or ISIS' hands, it remains to be seen where just it will be used.

This isn't 'Nam; there are rules.

The third photo matches up exactly with a photo from 2012 showing airdrop of supplies to US forces in Afghanistan.   Compare to the photo here:

Photos of supplies on the ground looks staged to me.   Would the CIA drop grenades loose packed like that?

Don't believe everything (anything?) that you see.    The whole thing stinks to high heaven of agitprop bullshit.   Cui bono?   That's the question.

Blythes Master's picture

Yes, exactly, GMTA.

This is bullshit to the core

ISIS is a red herring, one of Hydra's heads. THIS is Hydra =>

Paveway IV's picture

You God damn tin-foil hat nutters. You take every last opportunity to bash the good ol' USA and suggest conspiracy when there is none.

Why can't you just drink the Kool-Aid and shut UP?? How can this possibly be fake?  They used the exact same pictures on the front of Daily Mail a year-and-a-half ago and it was real THAT time. So, uh... it must be real this time, too.

US to investigate video showing ISIS with weapons drop meant for Kurdish fighters

Which reminds me of how pissed off I was when I first saw the fucked-up Kurd airdrop.

Dear U.S. DoD traitors:

If you're sending boxes of German hand grenades to ISIS by sneaking in a few Sherpa steerable cargo parachutes into the load, then make sure the headchoppers don't video the parachute with the God damn AGU box still strapped to it, you stupid fucking treasonous Israeli-firster pricks. Can't you even manage to conceal the fact that you STEERED the Sherpa-equipped cargo TO ISIS? The CIA wouldn't have been so fucking sloppy. Maybe we should have let them fight this war. Oh, wait... FUCK!

Edit: I dont' question that the U.S. sent more supplies to fake al Qaeda/ISIS on Friday or whenever. They do that all the time. It was just unfortunate for VT to re-use the Kurd airdrop pictures AS IF they represented whatever happened Friday. Of course VT never claimed as much, but embedding the pictures in the middle of their article was just fucking weak and unnecessary.

Billy the Poet's picture

What about the Pentagon report which stated that Al Qaeda members in Syria were supported by "the West, Turkey and the Gulf States" expressly for the purpose of setting up an "Islamic State?"

0b1knob's picture

So the suspect photos are all now edited out?

How totally chichenshit Zero Hedge.

HowdyDoody's picture

"Of course VT never claimed as much, but embedding the pictures in the middle of their article was just fucking weak and unnecessary."

Agreed. It is a consequence of the dreaded "pics or it didn't happen" syndrome. It could be solved by a caption saying something like 'stock image from previous drops'.

I don't believe anything veterans today posts. Not that I would put it past .gov to do this, but this isn't standard .gov procedure.

The playbook for handling ISIS is as follows: In iraq, they are evil terrorists who must be killed and bombed into oblivion. No weapons for them. However, ISIS on the other side of the imaginary line in Syria, they are freedom fighters, and get weapons dropped on them from above. This deviates from the play book.

Billy the Poet's picture

I stopped believing VT when they were pushing a story that the Aurora theater shooting happened because someone wanted to pressure James Holmes father not to reveal some information on the banks. They published the story as being authoritative as did some other fringe sites but when I traced down the common source it was nothing but a guy on you tube who said "This is true but I won't give you details. Do your own research." I reported my finding here and received many down votes. Within a few days everybody and his brother was calling the report false.

jstalin's picture

Notice how the plane has four engines in the first picture but two engines in the second. lol

greenskeeper carl's picture

ya i saw that too. The first one is a C130, I think the second one is a C 123, but Im not sure. HC 144 maybe?

knukles's picture

Either way, is it an Air America and photo-op propaganda all over again, part 2 redux?
And the article says that one of the planes flew over at 0400 hrs.  Pretty light at 0400 hrs.  Might be on the same planet of the two suns upon which Jerry Kohn's Vietnam River boat crew pic was taken with all the different out of place shadows that the NYT ran on the front page and then deep sixed later.
But what the fuck do I know about stuff like odd photos?
OK so from whom and where's Veterans Today get this stuff?
Veterans Today's also had some pretty good UFO articles as well in the past.
Now, all this is not to say that the good guys and the bad guys cannot be figured out from the other bad and good guys and whoever's dropping stuff better make sure that they know who the enemy of their enemy is so it's their friend unless they went to the wrong place in the middle of the night and didn't know to whom they were friending or enemying, otherwise it's more like enemaing everybody for shits and grins.
And just to keep it real, you say to some guy from W VA that you friended his sister, he might just kill ya'
Hope I helped.

Caught on tape!? Who uses tape anymore? This article is utter bullshit because of the title. No, wait... its the old photos... old grenades? hang on, its the wrong time of day, and the plane isn't the same. No way is USA supporting evil bad guys ISIS, bad cliches and using pictures so the handicapped can follow the story proves it!

Sorry_about_Dresden's picture

No! Thx for pointing that detail out!

Kaeako's picture

Obviously the photos have nothing to do with the supposed airdrop, as the supposed policemen supposedly say this happened at 4am - the sun isn't even up at 4am! Taking Veterans today seriously is like taking David Icke seriously - the stuff they write is so batshit and/or twisted that the contributors can't be for real.

greenskeeper carl's picture

Actually, during some times of the year, the sun really is up that early, no shit. At least in Bahrain, 330 in the morning sometimes. But I agree about veterans today. Them and "abovetopsecret" have always had a kind of limited hangout kind of feel to them. They both stink of misinformation, IMO.

knukles's picture

Is it light at 0330 in Bahrain on regular Muslim Suicide Bomber Time or day light  early Allah Hijab Disguise Terrorist Sneak and Peak Time?

oldguyonBMXbike's picture

Where was it 0330?  In Bahrain or wherever the hell these pampered reporters were put up in five star accomodations?

greenskeeper carl's picture

No idea, knucks, I just remember sitting there on watch and the sun being all the way up by 4 in the morning for long stretches of the spring/summer. My only point in posting is that yes, it is possible to take a picture at 4 in the morning and have it look like complete daylight.

Never did see or hear of any suicide bombers in bahrain or kuwait while i was there.

knukles's picture

Oh, I'm with ya' carl.  I just couldn't help myself with terrorist savings bombing time.

HRH of Aquitaine (not verified) greenskeeper carl Apr 10, 2016 8:56 PM

Greenskeeper Karl, that is complete fucking bullshit. The sun rises in Manama, Bahrain, today @ 5:18 am and sets at 5:59 pm.

You are a moron. The only places where the sun rises at that time of day are above the Canadian border which is the 49th Parallel.

Bahrain is located near the 26th parallel.

If you want to see sunlight at 3:30 in the fucking morning, dude, you had better be way fucking north and Bahrain isn't even close.

Kaeako's picture

No it isn't, not in those latitudes. Have a look at the map. What you're talking about happens way, way further north.

HRH of Aquitaine's picture
HRH of Aquitaine (not verified) Kaeako Apr 10, 2016 9:04 PM

Kaeako, I agree. The only time I have woken up to light at that time of the day was when I was above the 49th Parallel.

Bahrain is close to the 26th parallel. Big difference between the amount of daylight you get up north and the amount of daylight you get at the equator.

oldguyonBMXbike's picture

Yeah, I'm pretty sure when the government arms ISIS they transport them, and also supply them with, Toyota Hiluxeseses!

Nice catch!

tptb are, obviously, playing boths sides. Always winning no matter who loses.

I took a closer look at the photos, before I read your comment, and noticed that the plane was not a B-52. This article is trying to stir it up, but it is a little late don't you think? The Syrians/Kurds have already fled to Western Europe, millions of them, they are just on a stop over until they flood North America. Mission accomplished! They will be unstoppable.

The whole situation is so overplayed now anyway. We have all the oil we will ever need in proven reserves in North and South American, they could close the Suez and the Straits of Hormuz tomorrow and there is so much crude excess in storage and excess capacity wtf does it matter? ISIS, Assad, Wahhabis.....who cares? Why should I care?

Elon Musk just landed a rocket on a floating moving platform in the sea! Anyone stupid enough to enlist/reenlist is not doing it for love of country or patriotism. If they become cannon fodder they have only themselves to blame.

I am not trying to insult anyone, but why should anyone care about what is happening in that place?

Clashfan's picture

Good find. No doubt this is happening, but VT is not a trustworthy source, folks.

Haven't we caused enough misery in Iraq?   Bushes, Clintons, Obama, Nuland-Nudelman, Kagin, Cheney, NeoCons, McCain.  All these criminal traitors should be put on trial.
