Paul Craig Roberts: Killary Will Be The Last US President

Tyler Durden's picture

Authored by Paul Craig Roberts,

As Our Past Wars Are Glorified This Memorial Day Weekend, Give Some Thought To Our Prospects Against The Russians And Chinese In World War III

The Saker reports that Russia is preparing for World War III, not because Russia intends to initiate aggression but because Russia is alarmed by the hubris and arrogance of the West, by the demonization of Russia, by provocative military actions by the West, by American interference in the Russian province of Chechnya and in former Russian provinces of Ukraine and Georgia, and by the absence of any restraint from Western Europe on Washington’s ability to foment war.

Like Steven Starr, Stephen Cohen, myself, and a small number of others, the Saker understands the reckless irresponsibility of convincing Russia that the United States intends to attack her.

It is extraordinary to see the confidence that many Americans place in their military’s ability. After 15 years the US has been unable to defeat a few lightly armed Taliban, and after 13 years the situation in Iraq remains out of control. This is not very reassuring for the prospect of taking on Russia, much less the strategic alliance between Russia and China. The US could not even defeat China, a Third World country at the time, in Korea 60 years ago.

Americans need to pay attention to the fact that “their” government is a collection of crazed stupid fools likely to bring vaporization to the United States and all of Europe.

Russian weapons systems are far superior to American ones. American weapons are produced by private companies for the purpose of making vast profits. The capability of the weapons is not the main concern. There are endless cost overruns that raise the price of US weapons into outer space.

The F-35 fighter, which is less capable than the F-15 it is supposed to replace, costs between $148 million and $337 million per fighter, depending on whether it is an Air Force, Marine Corps, or Navy model

A helmet for a F-35 pilot costs $400,000, more than a high end Ferrari

(Washington forces or bribes hapless Denmark into purchasing useless and costly F-35)

It is entirely possible that the world is being led to destruction by nothing more than the greed of the US military-security complex. Delighted that the reckless and stupid Obama regime has resurrected the Cold War, thus providing a more convincing “enemy” than the hoax terrorist one, the “Russian threat” has been restored to its 20th century role of providing a justification for bleeding the American taxpayer, social services, and the US economy dry in behalf of profits for armament manufacturers.

However, this time Washington’s rhetoric accompanying the revived Cold War is far more reckless and dangerous, as are Washington’s actions, than during the real Cold War. Previous US presidents worked to defuse tensions. The Obama regime has inflated tensions with lies and reckless provocations, which makes it far more likely that the new Cold War will turn hot. If Killary gains the White House, the world is unlikely to survive her first term.

All of America’s wars except the first—the war for independence—were wars for Empire. Keep that fact in mind as you hear the Memorial Day bloviations about the brave men and women who served our country in its times of peril. The United States has never been in peril, but Washington has delivered peril to numerous other countries in its pursuit of hegemony over others.

Today for the first time in its history the US faces peril as a result of Washington’s attempts to assert hegemony over Russia and China.

Russia and China are not impressed by Washington’s arrogance, hubris, and stupidity. Moreover, these two countries are not the native American Plains Indians, who were starved into submission by the Union Army’s slaughter of the buffalo.

They are not the tired Spain of 1898 from whom Washington stole Cuba and the Philippines and called the theft a “liberation.”

They are not small Japan whose limited resources were spread over the vastness of the Pacific and Asia.

They are not Germany already defeated by the Red Army before Washington came to the war.

They are not Granada, Panama, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, or the various Latin American countries that General Smedley Butler said the US Marines made safe for “the United Fruit Company” and “some lousy bank investment.”

An insouciant American population preoccupied with selfies and delusions of military prowess, while its crazed government picks a fight with Russia and China, has no future.

WTF? That post said nothing of substance. And what credibility does the blog "End of Innocence" have? Who writes for them?

There is no FUCKING way that the presidential election is going to be completed!  It’s time to prepare for that!  Whatever the myriad of reasons, false flags, ISIS, home grown discontent, the country is going to wake up the day after to banking, economic, and social chaos.  Travel and economic sanctions will be put into place within 48 hours.  Think about voting early and then riding election week out of the country.  If you can’t afford an expensive trip then tell  your significant other you are treating them to a $300 cheap cruise for the hell of it. Stay safe in Nov my ZH friends.

Come on Paul, with Hillary's closest confidente Huma Abedin's mother being a member of the muslim brotherhood what could go wrong?

hillary clinton is unlikely to be president.

she may not be nominated.  really.  this email thing has legs with boots that look government issue.

if nominated, she is the candidate trump was meant to oppose. all her weaknesses play to his strengths.  she is so insultable.

plus she is the same party as the prior two-term president who has an approval rating of only 45%.

and, it seems, there is the smell of insurrection in the air.

God himself. This is the 6th Trumpet War, if anyone would like to crack open the Bible...

Revelation 9:13-19New King James Version (NKJV)

Sixth Trumpet: The Angels from the Euphrates

13 Then the sixth angel sounded: And I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 14 saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” 15 So the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind. 16 Now the number of the army of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them. 17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision: those who sat on them had breastplates of fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulfur yellow; and the heads of the horses were like the heads of lions; and out of their mouths came fire, smoke, and brimstone. 18 By these three plagues a third of mankind was killed—by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which came out of their mouths. 19 For their power[a] is in their mouth and in their tails; for their tails are like serpents, having heads; and with them they do harm.

Also, of note: The Arab Spring began in 2012, more or less. Did anyone else put that one together?

I don't give credence to some fiction created by a bunch of sand dwelling goat fuckers

Gavrikon's picture

And I don't give credence to some low IQ "believers" who choose to interpret writings (to the early church undergoing persecution) 2000 years later with a newspaper.

mary mary's picture

And I don't give credence to people who blame what the Gulf States do today on Mohammed, who was not a goat-fucker, and who merely tried to stop Arabs from wasting all their energy fighting each other.

scintillator9's picture

A bit of a correction:

The Arab Spring begain in late 2010, and really took off in 2011.

Starting around 2008, there were many instances of "Sky Trumpets" or unusual sounds heard in the sky across the world, and they still seem to have been reports of them early this year (2016).

There was a post 3 years ago that said Barack Obama would be the last US President. He was also supposed to take our guns and declare himself emperor or some shit like that.

willwork4food's picture

Yes, where does PCR prove Hillary will become the next POTUS? Very unlikely.

Transformer's picture

Yes, taking the guns from America, that is the key.  That is why this has gone on so long, why the collapse didn't happen several years ago.  You see...

There's alway riots, usually they're called the IMF riots.  Here's the thing.  There have never been riots where the people were armed, which makes sense cause the only two countries in the world where the people are armed are the USA and Switzerland.

Obama was supposed to get all the guns, but the American people have woke up.  The longer this goes on, the more that wake up.  It's to the point now that the MSM and the Elites are losing their power.  They say to the people that Trump/Bernie is bad, we must not vote for them, and... more people support Trump/Bernie.

Just like with the guns... Several false flags, and people buy more guns.  Obama gives speeches about why we need more gun control, and the people buy more guns.

Just like the framers of the constitution intended, the guns are our last respite.

Reginald Blome's picture

Hear hear. Until/unless they manage to get the guns, there is hope.

JamesBond's picture

That was probably mine.  His tenure doesn't end for a few moe months to come...  stay tunned.

BO declaring himself Emperor?  That's bullshit.  He couldn't write a trade bill or a peice of legislation if Michael's ass depended upon it.  He is a figure head only.

No Guns?  That Hillary's fantasy.

So I get junked for pointing out a POS link that Future Jim slaps up here as evidence that PCR is a "psyop"?

What the fuck?

clearly a POS link. obviously people on ZH are so disillusioned that they need to see conspiracies everywhere. i gave you a greenie.

Not a big PCR fan myself but I rather liked this. He made some good points.

Not even the Americans are stupid enough to vote in Hillary. The only reason shes still there is that she is shielded by the press, but there are ways of punching holes through that now, as Trump has shown.

Lorca's Novena's picture

*Implying voting even frikkin matters / the will of the people.

nyuszika45's picture

Given a Killery presidency, it is better than 50% odds as she is far more Machiavellian than the ideologue current in the WH, but she is also going lame brain and so is, believe it or not, less competent than the wild alien. Hers is a truly scary prospect and not just for reasons that support the Constitution, but as a real and certifiably sick chief exec...

nmewn's picture

Butt butt butt...she's going to have Bubba run the economy!

NihilistZero's picture

It's done.  Trump has this election.  While he may prove a PsyOp (or even if he isn't) and we're off the cliff anyway.  But I feel secure in saying that Crooked Hillary Clinton is NOT going to be the President of the United States.  Ever.

Misanthropus's picture

Trump is NOT a psyop. Megalomaniac? Yes. Pathological narcissist? Yes. Psyop no. You people watch too many movies.

Yes nmewn , in between snorting blow off  hookers.

"the reckless irresponsibility of convincing Russia that the United States intends to attack her."

I stopped there.

Russia's not stupid, and the US has no such intentions.
Not even the MIC.

Sounds like PCR has been drinking or something.
Or perhaps it's senility.
Or maybe he's made a deal with the devil.

Oh, and, Hillary won't be President.
And there will be more Presidents to come, regardless.

"Americans need to pay attention to the fact that “their” government is a collection of crazed stupid fools likely to bring vaporization to the United States and all of Europe."

More accurate, with very different results, is that "their" government is a collection of self-serving cowards, very much afraid of being exposed, now ending their ride on the wave of collective ignorance and apathy of the American People.

valjoux7750's picture

I totaly agree  with the article,  though it does exaggerte quit a bit.

Transformer's picture

Cabreado... hmmm...  maybe you should actually read it, even if it doesn't fit your sense of normalcy bias.

Cabreado's picture

I read it several times.

"Normalcy bias," really?

That's rather simplistic and lazy.

jeff montanye's picture

i agree with most of what you say but there is certainly a very real attack by the u.s. on russia.  the putsch in the ukraine and the sanctions that followed are unmistakable acts of war.  the syrian campaign and, indeed, most of u.s. policy in the middle east and nearby regions since 2002 has been a series of acts of war much of which opposes russian interests.

it's a fine line but i think this goes over it.

i also think hillary won't be president.

i don't even think she will be nominated.

these are some of the "insults" that various hillary clinton supporters have directed at sanders and his supporters:

“dead enders” (paul krugman) following “the champion of all things small and the enemy of all things big.”  (bill clinton)   “the zombie candidate” and a “doomed” challenger at risk of “becom[ing] Trump’s best ghost-writer for the general election” and a de facto “Nader”  (david wade, kerry’s and obama’s communications strategist).

“when you’re [a] young [woman], you’re thinking ‘where are the boys?’ The boys are with Bernie.” (gloria steinem)

particularly in the time of trump, these are ludicrously weak.  this will not stop bernie's momentum or ignite hillary's imo.

rwe2late's picture

Agreed, Russia and her allies are being and have been attacked

militarily, politically, and economically.

Russia is already convinced the USA is attacking.

Blind are those who blithely claim the USA won't "attack" Russia.

Some defend the MIC/CIA drive for full-spectrum global dominance and aiming to prevent the "rise" of any potential adversary as a "sane" US policy.

Ignored is the fact that the constant provocations, threats, and assaults do impact Russia's security and compel Russia to place its defenses on a higher level of readiness. The threats exist not just in attack by main US forces, but in attacks by US proxies who may also be loose cannons, whether in Georgia, Ukraine, Poland, Turkey, ISIS or elsewhere.

That is what PCR was referring to as a need to defuse tensions. Thet threat is of accidental or unintended major conflict, not only intended.

Ghordius's picture

politically? yes, indeed. economically? even more. financially? absolutely

but militarily? beg to differ. there is a big difference between rattling the saber and drawing it out. and Russians know the difference, and know the "Game" very well

rwe2late's picture

Ghordius,

 yes, militarily,

against Russia and allies (including China)

direct and with with proxies (Georgia, Ukraine, Syria, Libya, Serbia, Turkey ...)

(obviously, you discount arms and weapons build-up of US and proxies, NATO expansion, upgrading of nuclear arsenal and tactical nukes, Black Sea naval imposition, etc. as harmless military blustering)

Inzidious's picture

The way developed nations run their societies has war as an inevitable necessity at certain points. WW3 would have happened long ago without nukes in play. It might not happen as soon as some think, but too much population and not enough resources and/or quality of life for the majority means the same thing it always has. A fight.

agNau's picture

Left leaning PCR is having a little difficulty exiting the matrix as he discovers reality. He calls the right neocons, but will not apply the label across the line. Acceptance of drastic change to long held beliefs can be quite difficult. Denial is almost reflexive.

jeff montanye's picture

imo pcr will accept the neocon label for both political parties in the u.s.

but the deal is both political parties in the u.s. are "right", are conservative in it's meaning of keeping things as they are: the u.s. at war, giving israel free money and weapons, preseving israel's conquests of arab lands and its subjugation of the people living there.
