Three Big Lies That Pervade America's 'News' Media

Tyler Durden's picture

Authored by Eric Zuesse via,

(This news-report is being submitted to virtually all U.S. national ‘news’ media, almost all of which are the very same ‘news’ media that hide these historical truths, which facts thus remain as «news» in America, since they still haven’t yet been reported as «news», even though they’ve now become history — history that’s suppressed in America.)

The Big Lies that pervade the U.S. ‘news’ media are the ones that are essential to sustain in order for the deceived American public to accept the fraudulent basis upon which the U.S. regime of Barack Obama has ‘justified’ his economic sanctions against Russia, and his pouring of U.S. troops and weapons onto and near Russia’s borders:

1: Calling the bloody U.S. coup that overthrew the democratically elected President of Ukraine in February 2014 instead a ‘democratic revolution’ against him, which established ‘democracy in Ukraine,’ instead of established adictatorship and a civil war there.

As even that scholarly source calling it a ‘democratic revolution’ acknowledged, this ‘democratic revolution’ «featured civic self-organization aided by the use of Internet-based social media, neighborhood initiatives, and online news sites,» and this online operation (directed mainly at neo-Nazis in Ukraine) fits precisely the «tech camps» that started inside the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine on 1 March 2013, after Google’s CEO Eric Schmidt and Google’s and the U.S. State Department’s Jared Cohen had deceived wikileaks’ founder Julian Assange into informing them, on 23 June 2011, how to foment massive public demonstrations online.

Schmidt asked Assange there: «One of the questions I have is how do you decide which ISPs [to use]…

JA: OK. That's a very good question.

ES: Yeah, it is a pretty complicated question.

JA: Yeah, so I will give you an example of how not to choose them. So we dealt with a case in the Cacos islands where there was a great little group called the TCI journal. The Turks and Cacos Islands Journal, which is sort of a best use case of the internet. So who are they? Well they are a bunch of legal reformers… People are going from... young people are going from apolitical to political. It is a very very interesting transition to see».

Assange even bragged to Schmidt and Cohen (who was very close to Cohen’s other boss Hillary Clinton) «Something I am certain about is that we changed the outcome of the Kenyan election in 2007». Assange, at that time, seems to have had no idea at all, that he was actually telling this to coup-plotters, instead of to democracy-champions.

Only in retrospect did Assange come to recognize that, as he headlined in October 2014, «Google Is Not What It Seems». That’s when he noted, «Jared Cohen could be wryly named Google’s 'director of regime change'».

This coup (called ’the Maidan revolution’ or «Euromaidan») started being organized inside the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine by no later than 1 March 2013, but wikipedia says instead: «Euromaidan started in the night of 21 November 2013 when up to 2,000 protesters gathered at Kiev's Maidan Nezalezhnosti and began to organize themselves with the help of social networks». (Nothing was mentioned there about the U.S. Embassy’s having organized them.)

The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and other sales-promotion operations for Lockheed Martin etc., blame the increased misery in Ukraine after the coup, on Ukrainians, such as: «Under attack from within and without, Ukraine cannot build a democratic future without Western support [from Western taxpayers, to fund those weapons-sales]. Both financial and security assistance are critical to the [new fascist Ukrainian] state’s survival. Yet there is one caveat: Ukraine’s friends should recall their experiences providing aid to other post-communist countries, and enforce strict conditionality, especially regarding control over powerful elites [such as those who actually worked with Obama’s coup], to ensure that their support achieves its desired aims. Constructing a new democracy in Ukraine will take extraordinary care and vigilance». In other words: ‘we’ tried our best; ’they’ failed. ‘We’ didn’t impose this bloody outcome on them; ‘they’ — America’s victims — did it to themselves.

This coup and its aftermath (ethnic cleansing to get rid of the people in the area of Ukraine that had voted 90 % for the man Obama overthrew) were the most-censored news story of 2014, and the U.S. ‘news’ media still don’t report any of it, because for them to report it truthfully would be for them to acknowledge what they’d been covering-up and lying about ever since the February 2014 coup — and they never report about their own cover-up operations.

2: Ignoring that the breakaway of Crimea from Ukraine, and that the 90+% vote of Crimeans, for Crimea to rejoin Russia (of which Crimea had been a part until the Soviet dictator transferred it to Ukraine in 1954), resulted directly from America’s violent overthrow of the Ukrainian President, for whom 75% of Crimeans had voted.

On 20 February 2014, at the very height of the bloody U.S. coup that ended democracy in Ukraine, the Obama Administration’s rabidly Russia-hating nazi-inspired thugs beat and brutally killed many Crimeans who were escaping from Kiev after having been peacefully demonstrating there against the U.S.-nazi overthrow-Yanukovych operation. This «Korsun massacre» is ignored in the ‘news’ accounts in America, but it played a key role in terrifying the Crimean population against the coup-installed regime and in motivating them to seek the protection of Russia by voting, on 16 March 2014, for Crimea to rejoin Russia.

3: Lying to say that a majority of Syrians want to replace Bashar al-Assad as Syria’s President, and to say that the Obama regime wants a democratic Syria and that the Russian government does not.

Of course, because the U.S. used to be predominantly a democracy, the myth of America’s still being a ‘democracy’ is considered acceptable to promulgate even today. However, not only was today’s U.S. government one of only three governments at the U.N. voting to oppose a resolution condemning nazism and denial of the Holocaust, but on at least two occasions the U.N. Secretary General Ban ki-Moon criticized the Obama Administration’s insistence that in the next Syrian Presidential election the Syrian people must be prohibited from being allowed to vote for Bashar al-Assad.

*  *  *

Most Americans still don’t know any of these facts, because the U.S. ‘news’ media refused to report these — and many other important — facts to them. Can such a country even possibly be an authentic democracy?

It’s no different than the lies that were stenographically reported as ‘truth’ about ‘Saddam’s WMD’, except that, this time, the lies can produce nuclear war with Russia.

That's why we need a stronger independent media

Odd, I don't see the holocaust listed... Probably the biggest lie in recent recorded history.

MANvsMACHINE's picture

Completely fabricated or just partially fabricated? Maybe embellished a bit?

News media?

Joos media...

jeff montanye's picture

speaking of media lies, how about: "israel is the ally of the u.s.a.?" and "9-11 was done by about a score of arabs under the direction of osama bin ladin and khalid sheikh mohammed?"

they sure seem to have gotten a lot of help, coordination and protection from neocon sayanim and likud mossad before, during and after the fact, up until today (and tomorrow . . .).

why would that be?  i thought they hated each other.  could those arabs (those that actually took part) have been fools and tools for the new pearl harbor so fondly wished for by the project for the new american century? and the wars in "seven countries in five years" that followed? well, fifteen years but what's a decade of war between "allies"?

archon's picture

I'm wondering what made Assange think he could trust someone like Eric Schmidt in the first place.  I mean, damn, Schmidt spent more time in the White House than some people who are supposed to "work" there.

Took Red Pill's picture

There are many, many lies on this subject from the MSM. What about the downing of flight MH-17? Or the chemical weapons used in Syria? The MSM continues to perpetuate these stories even though there's overwhelming evidence against it.

white horse's picture

Yes, and many more lies before that.

One thing's for sure. We are constantly reminded of "The Holocaust", but the media rarely mentions the much larger mass murders by communists Mao or Stalin and the (((Bolsheviks))).

But how long do you think it would last? A media that is 100% unbiased would be great. But it would be shamed into hell by the MSM.

No doubt it would be very popular, as long as they fed only the truth. But how long would it be allowed to be honest.

Truthfully that's all most of us want us the truth. Liberal media paints way to positive of a picture. Most of the time conservative media is extremely bearish on everything. It's hard to pick and choose through all the bullshit at times.

Seek_Truth's picture

EVEN "Alternative Media" is easily corrupted by the money powers.

Pay attention.

PS- Really- pay attention.

PPS- Honeypots are well compensated.

Old saying: If you want to anger a conservative, lie to him. If you want to anger a liberal, tell him the truth.

jeff montanye's picture

imo that is self serving.  fox news and the opinion pages of the wall street journal have made mints of money lying to "conservatives" over the years.

and "liberal" and "conservative" are mostly political professional wrestling at this stage (they weren't always, perhaps).  the oppositions that matter in u.s. politics, particularly in the last couple generations, are what the richest individuals and corporations want vs. the rest of the u.s. (and the world) and ditto on the likud mossad.

it may seem to be overstatement to put the latter in the same league as the former but the more you study it the more convinced you will become.  read jeff gates' book:

good luck.

Denan757's picture

"No doubt it would be very popular..." I think it would be popular only with those who seek the truth and are willing to listen and learn.

But we need to face the reality in America today: Many Amercans are content living in the thrall of the Liberal-RINO establishment as Leftist-splained by the effluent the MSM-entertainment industries feed them.

Many Americans simply do not want the truth. They are afraid of the truth because it destroys the rickety little manufactured world-view the establishment and it's media arms have created for them; and the actual truth or anything approaching it is very frightening.

Kirk2NCC1701's picture

Interestingly enough, the Big Merger of the US MSM occurred under Bush Sr. and even more under Bill Clinton.

Alternative Media is the solution for those who are interested in the truth. The problem is, this they are a minority and it takes real effort and involvement to spread the word to the masses.

Sandmann's picture

The Masses don't care. Never did. You simply have to liberate the Inquisitive and Energetic from the Sludge

NidStyles's picture

Even if they did care, what could they do?

MisterMousePotato's picture

There is a truly compelling bit of cinema in the movie, Runaway Jury. Gene Hackman schools Dustin Hoffman in The Truth Regarding The Masses in a bathroom. Shot in one take, Gene Hackman might be a real louse and a cynic, but there's little to criticize in his take on the truth regarding the masses:

[Sorry. Can't find a link.]

We are doomed.

But the problem with Alt media is that you have to look for other sites to legitimize what is being reported wihtout having it circle back to the same Alt media site.  It's a hard thing to do, but if you want real news and truth, youhave to step back from everything you're presented with, even on Zero Hedge and the comments, to quadruple check.

When USA media lines up with Iran media, Chinese media, Russian media, Turkmenistand media, Ukraine media and Suriname media...then, perhaps, what you're reading is real.  Anything else is suspect.

It amkes 'news' a tremendous pain in the ass these days.  It's not a passive activity to be informed.  You have to fight for information.

Ballin D's picture

Of course. Tell you what I do sometimes. I see a topic and then use a search engine to verify and/or find alternative information.

You can also think about a topic that you stumbled across months ago which the media now omit and search what happened to it. You'll be surprised what you can find. But not all of course. Why the Clintons have so much hold over so many people that they can practically do whatever they like is not available (yet).

East Indian's picture

how about the search engine censoring the topic? sometime ago I wanted to find the meaning of the symbolism of triple parentheses used by some of the members here. Believe me, Google was not helpful at all. Then I found out through one of the smaller engines.

harmonymonkey's picture

Can any of the "fact checks" be trusted?

CJgipper's picture

No.  They're all run by hard left political activists.  Politifact has been busted for flat out lying multiple times in addition to the standard spin it so hard it's pretty much false or rate a statement false and then explain it's true.

dunce's picture

Someone posted that 75% of Trumps statement were fact checked false but never listed one statement fact checked. It would be hilarious if so many did not accept phony fact checks. I did not challenge the poster because it is a trollers bait to get somebody in a stupid arguement.

"Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on my own; God sent me. Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me? Whoever belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.” - John 8:42-47

actually that assumes consciousness after death, quite the "leap of faith" given current science.

When I was 4 years of age I did the math and realized that Santa Claus could not deliver all the packages and concluded there was no Santa Claus.

At that same time I realized that "some guy living in the sky" did not rule the events on Earth.

There is no god of any type ruling Earth.  The principles of physics rule the world with random chance intervening by the instant.

I've always thought you have to emotionally needy to depend on such a weak concept as religion.  I see it in christians and I see it in Glo-bull Warmists.

I don't pick on you because you leave it alone.  But if you are going to insist on a bunch of blather from the bible expect to be greeted with a brick wall.

It isn't "belief" if you just claim to believe. That would be somewhat like a member of the FSA saying "I'm With Her" when they really mean "I'm with whoever gives me the most free stuff." Big difference.

Posted yet again (with some minor edits/additions), for your READING pleasure:

There is no way to explain all of the points laid out below- (other than a Divine source)

There's good reason for faith in the Bible and its teachings

The 66 books of the Bible were written:

On three continents.
In three languages.
By about 40 different people (kings, shepherds, prophets, an army general, fishermen, priests, physician, etc).
Over a period of about 1,500 years.
On the most controversial subjects.
By people who, in most cases, had never met.
By authors whose education and background varied greatly.

Yet it tells a completely cohesive story, all based on the same theme, of mankind’s fall, and the Love God showed by sending His son as a sacrifice to buy the souls of all men wishing to be redeemed.

And what is required to be redeemed?

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16

Only a book breathed by God could meet the above criteria, and there is no other book like it.

It is The Word of God.

Fulfilled Prophecy:

It is not only completely coherent, it prophesied ~600 years in advance every thing that Christ would accomplish, in Isaiah 53:

There are hundreds of other prophecies that He fulfilled, as well:

Not to mention all the other prophecies that foretold in advance what would occur in what was then the future, take Daniels prophecy of Alexander the Great:

It also accurately foretold many events hundreds or even thousands of years beforehand, the times we are living in, for example- yes- the end times, all going as foretold.

Proof that the integrity of the scriptures has been preserved:

It is a well researched and attested to fact that the Bible has been copied accurately and faithfully. On the integrity of the New Testament:

“As with all the previously published New Testament papyri (127 of them, published in the last 116 years), not a single new reading has commended itself as authentic. Instead, the papyri function to confirm what New Testament scholars have already thought was the original wording or, in some cases, to confirm an alternate reading—but one that is already found in the manuscripts” -

And all are in agreement with one another. The standard practice is to ensure that modern translations adhere to these earliest copies of the papyri. We therefore know that they are faithful replications of what occurred in the first century.

There are over 5,600 different copies of the ancient  (from the 1st and 2nd centuries) New Testament text, and by comparing one to the other, it can be shown that they are at least 99.5% accurately transcribed.

The Old Testament is just as well preserved as the New Testament. For sake of brevity here, I will simply point out that Jesus Christ Himself quoted from 24 books of the Old Testament, and other writers of the New Testament quoted from 34 books of the Old Testament, showing that these were widely accepted as canonical. A comparison of ancient texts of the Old Testament yields very similar results to the accuracy of its transcription.

So there is no "problem" with the integrity of the Bible.

Another reason why the Bible can be believed- its absolute CANDOR:

It does not attempt to paint a rosy picture of most men- in fact, only a mere handful of the Kings of Israel and Judah were spoken of as "good," and even they had their foibles commited to writing. Jesus' own Apostles had huge faults- and they are all attested to in writing.

On the subject of Archaeology:

Prior to modern day archaeological “discoveries”,  for thousands of years, Bedouins and other tribesmen routinely gathered treasures and artifacts (and still do) from sites mentioned in the Bible- Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Petra, etc. It should not be surprising, then, that there is a dearth of information that has yet to be discovered in private collections, and much that has been lost forever. However, there is sufficient evidence that the Biblical account of Egyptian bondage found in Genesis and Exodus can easily be confirmed by archaeology:

There is likewise strong archaeological evidence for many other events in the Bible, that, for sake of brevity, I have not included here. A web search will reveal all the competing interpretations of archaeological evidence. Archaeology, in any case, is more detective work requiring interpretation than hard science.

Now- On the subject of why only 66 books were included in the Bible, excluding the apocrypha- very good reasons:

The proof stated throughout this reply to you is more than enough for a person who is truly intelligent and capable of learning to see that it is absolutely impossible for the Bible to have come into being, to have its integrity preserved, to predict future events, to be written by diverse peoples who did not and could not collaborate, to achieve the stunning coherence, theme, development, conclusion and moral authority of the Bible without Divine guidance and inspiration.

To come to any other conclusion is intellectually dishonest.

On the subject of the Roman church and Constantine- I'm certainly no stranger to what occurred at the Council of Nicaea. I will go on record after ~50 years of research and tell you unequivocally that the ONE thing they got right was the 66 books of the Bible canon. Otherwise, that is where the Great Apostasy (foretold in 2_Thessalonians_2:2-4), away from true Christianity began. The Protestant Reformation cleaned up and addressed only a handful of the errors of the Roman church, and that is true to this day. To summarize- the Protestant denominations are less corrupted than the Catholic church- which is still a far cry from true Christianity as taught in the Bible.

In addition- The modern day interest in "aliens" is nothing more than a skewed attempt, due to dismissal of the Divine text, to understand what the Bible explained long ago- there is alien life- they're called spirit creatures. They are God, His son Jesus Christ, Cherubs, Seraphs, Archangels, Angels, Satan the Devil, and Demons. No need for science fiction.

Yep its not the place for Bible thumping. Less is more?

Seeking truth means ruling out it's source?

Those who beleve so are fools:

"The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good." - Psalm 14:1
