Wikileaks Cancels Highly Anticipated Tuesday Announcement Due To "Security Concerns"

Wikileaks has abruptly canceled a much-anticipated announcement on Tuesday, according to NBC News. The announcement had been expected to be founder Julian Assange’s long-promised document dump on Hillary Clinton.

NBC’s Jesse Rodriguez reported that the Tuesday announcement — which was to come from the balcony of London’s Ecuadorian Embassy, where Assange has sought sanctuary for years – was canceled due to “security concerns”.

Wikileaks has not said when it will now make its “announcement”.

Assange appeared on Fox News last month, repeating his assertion that Wikileaks has damaging documents on Clinton and suggested WikiLeaks may soon release “teasers”. More than three weeks later, that release has yet to take place.

Clinton’s more fervent opponents have hoped for weeks that the promised document dump would be an “October surprise” – damaging and revelatory emails or the like — and inflict a mortal wound on her campaign. There’s no evidence however that such damaging information even exists.

It was only this summer that Assange’s group leaked thousands of embarrassing emails from the Democratic National Committee which showed their disdain for Bernie Sanders’ insurgent campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination. The uproar over the disclosures forced DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz to resign in disgrace on the eve of the Democratic National Convention.

The political provocateur and bomb-thrower Roger Stone, a fervent Donald Trump supporter, predicted Sunday morning that Wikileaks’ revelations would doom Clinton’s campaign.

It’s unclear if Stone was aware that Wikileaks, according to NBC News, has canceled their Tuesday announcement.

Assange and his supporters have long claimed that his personal safety is at risk due to the danger he (supposedly) represents to Clinton’s presidential ambitions. In August, a video reemerged of liberal commentator Bob Beckel who suggested in a TV appearance that Assange be murdered, proclaiming that someone should “shoot the son of a bitch!”

Assange himself has also recently hinted publicly that low-level DNC staffer Seth Rich, who was murdered this summer in Washington DC, had been the source for Wikileaks’ document dump on the DNC. And that Rich’s alleged role in the leaks was linked to his death.

There has been no evidence linking Rich to the leak and no evidence that his murder was anything more than a botched robbery.

Nonetheless, the cancellation of Tuesday’s Wikileaks announcement already has anti-Clinton conspiracy theorists working up a frantic stew of speculation.

Ortel ought to monitor Clinton Global Pay Pal transfers to Ecuadorian whomevers.

Money talks. In this case, money shuts up.

It's not stated that the document dump won't happen it's just that Julian won't be making a target of himself. Not a big deal.

BigJim's picture

True.

But when's the long-awaited BoA document dump?

jefferson32's picture

"There has been no evidence linking Rich to the leak and no evidence that his murder was anything more than a botched robbery"

Yeah, botched to the point that no actual robbery has taken place.

The man is confined to the embassy. If he doesn't want announce it from the balcony, then a chair inside would do just fine. Why is there any need to cancel the event? Something doesn't add up.

JRobby's picture

He needs to get the rest of it out and let the internet community sift through it soon. Because they are going to kill him. And he knows it.

nothing will surprise me regarding shill - not even if they extricate the parasitic sociopathic alien that has infested its brain

Hype Alert's picture

Sounds to me like the deal to get out of hiding hasn't been finalized.  They don't need a balcony to make announcments, that's bs.  If Julian is cutting a deal by not releasing these documents, well, I thought he was smarter.

beemasters's picture

Yes this excuse about security concerns doesn't make sense. There have been photos of him seen peeping out of the embassy window. If a photographer could shoot that,... Anyway, there are many ways of releasing the documents like passing them to ZH as an article for one.
Assange doesn't have the power to cut any deal. He isn't the only one possessing the documents. He is just an effective messenger.

Perhaps he wasn't testing his food for "radioactive" substances properly

IF he was truly worried about security concerns then he would have dumped the whole lot as soon as possible.  How long has he had this information?  By now he should have millions of copies distributed world-wide.  It should be impossible NOT to leak.

As I have mentioned before, the whole thing sounds exactly like a script from a ~30 year old Australian Soap - Prisoner.  Anyone else remember Ferguson and her diary?  In the case of the soap, an evil prison guard kept a diary of her evil-doings, that the prisoners happened to get hold of, which they tried to blackmail her with, which was then destroyed in a fire ... except for one page ...

In this case, Assange has these leaks, that he keeps leaking but saving the juicy stuff for last (why waste time?), and now he withdraws an apparently "juicy leak" due to security concerns ...

Yeah, yeah.  I've seen this show before.  Put up or shut up.  There's no excuse for bullshit.

Roger Stone knows what the leaks are. He said one of their guys met with Assange a few weeks ago.

.....I think Julian might be realizing a tad late he should've jumped a flight to Moscow, tagging along with Snowden.

I wonder if Julian is having second thoughts of the steps he took long ago. No kidding the Deep State along with hrc would kill Assange in a nano second as a warning shot to others. A bit of Julian's presentation and teasing is a bit too much PT Parnum.

No, No, NO!  Hillary's brain injury was due to...

A. Her combat-visit to Bosnia during the war

B. Her husband's infidelity in the 90s, re Lewinsky.

How could it possibly due to anything else, you horrible Alt-Right person?   And she's made a full recovery, since becoming a US Senator.

This faggot Assange never delivers. He always has an excuse. Fucker is a damn con-artist.

NoDebt's picture

Dump the documents, forget about the pleasantries and grandstanding.

All this fucking hand-wringing and second-guessing and delaying is getting old.

I agree delivering an address from an open balcony window is probably a REALLY bad idea for you (this is the first time that thought occurred to you??), but would you make with the goods already?

RiverRoad's picture

The closer to 11/8 that the goods are dumped the better.  The general public has the attention span of a titmouse.

Mr.Sono's picture

Let's hope that's the case. I personally feel, it should be dumped in mid October.

Creative_Destruct's picture

"...the attention span of a titmouse."

Unfortunately it's worse: the attention span of a house fly.

I dunno Nid. This gem kinda validates his existence, don't you think?

Made my brother physically ill when I put it on to "enlighten" him. He sure was enlightened, though.

Being an eternal optimist (fuck knows why), I'm thinking maybe Assange has the mother lode and is ready to drop it, with Trump hardly knocking Hillary out of the park in the first debate. Gotta hype it up first though, and get all those MSM hacks quaking, not to mention the tribe who enable her.

PT's picture

It would have been better for the leaks to have occurred ~ one year ago.  Why?  Because who believes any revelations that come out six months or less before an election?  We know politicians lie.  We know that they tell big whoppers in order to get elected.  How do you separate the wheat from the chaff?  You release the wheat well before the chaff starts flying so everyone has plenty of time to have a proper look at it.

The lies come out thick and hard before an election, and then suddenly they are forgotten after the election ... until the next election.  The worst thing about this election is that I have ignored my own life-long rule of always ignoring the shit that comes out six months or less before an election. ( Lucky for me I am not US therefore I won't be voting. )

So, on the one hand I understand the importance of timing releases of information just before the election - enough time to verify / dispute claims but not enough time for the public to forget - but on the other hand, the information could have buried Hillary a year or two ago and it would have looked like a genuine conviction and not a political assassination.

"... could have buried Hillary a year or two ago ...", errrr, of course that relies on "a reasonable prosecutor" prosecuting.  Perhaps that is the hole in my argument.

In defense of Assange he was amazed that the Trump campaign didn't use the emails on Libya.

They got little traction, nobody seems to care and the Hillary traitors are still supporting her treason.

They were that Hillary was pushing for the no fly zone against the advise of the pentagon who said Libya would end up a failed state and terrorist haven.

Maybe he thinks we ain't worth it now.

No.

Maybe he knows we just ain't worth it now.

The rational for not releasing documents immediatly is the team needs to be absuletely certain they are legit - wikileaks has an impecible record and Julian himself discusses it.

An RT interview with Julian during the time DEFCON was going on, and after he'd releasing the DNC stuff is well worth the watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2CvpJdVVxo

I promise I'm gonna do this.  I mean it -- it's gonna happen.  No really, I'm not kidding.  Just watch me do it.  Ok, are you ready?  Here it comes now.  No joke, it's gonna happen.

Tomorrow.  I mean next week.  Without a doubt, next month.  July for sure.  No joke, really.

EXACTLY!  "There is no evidence to suggest it was anything more than a botched robbery."

There is also no evidence to suggest that is was a botched robbery.

"Yo, did he put up resistance? "

"Yeah but I shot him."

Great,  so where's the money/watch/cell phone?"

"Well I felt so bad for killing him for his money that I let him keep it."

It could have just been a forgetful robber?

You know that happens all the time, you shoot someone dead and you just forget to get his wallet, smartphone, watch or any other valuables.

At least it sounds a more convincing explanation then seasonal allergies, maybe the democrats should hire me to make up Hillaries excuses...

RiverRoad's picture

Wallet found on his body with cash and credit cards in it.  That's a murder. Hardly a "botched robbery".

Maybe he dropped dead with pneumonia first and then he was shot?

bigkahuna's picture

its the "hangin' with shill premium" all of the cops, fbi, and cia know it well. Thats why they do not investigate the murder - it is because it is understood that if you get anywhere near her - you are expendable....

The shooter may have been concerned that the victim had dropped dead, momentarily, from a zombie virus, and the shooter needed to shoot the victim in the head before the resurrection and world war Z.

"security concern"  AKA the guy that broke into the embassy and got away last month was a Special Forces operator taking a look around..  Billary's hitmen probably sent Assange a map of his room down to his toothbrush and underwear drawer...

It doesn't seem that standing outside on a balcony while making such announcements would be a very good idea. It also seems that delaying such announcements would also be a very bad idea.
