Leaked Memo Confirms Hillary Was Given Questions Ahead Of Interview

Tyler Durden's picture

Yesterday, in the latest indication that few things involving Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign are left to chance, we reported that Brennan Leach, a child actor and daughter of a PA Democratic Senator, was used to ask staged questions at a recent Hillary town hall. And while there has been some unconfirmed speculation that the Democratic presidential candidate may have colluded with Lester Holt during her first presidential debate, we now have further proof that "preparation" for Hillary means being fully informed of what is about to take place well ahead of time.

According to a leaked memo obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, the Clinton campaign was sent all questions one week by the program before the interview between Clinton and Harvey on Feb. 17. The memo was sent by campaign spokeswoman Karen Finney, formerly an MSNBC host, and communications staffer Betsaida Alcantara. In it the Clinton aides wrote one week before the taping that "Steve is known to be a host who goes out of his way to make his guests feel comfortable. We coordinated closely with the show’s producers on the script and format of the show.”

The memo was attached to an email posted on the website DCLeaks.com. According to the Free Beacon, one of the individuals behind the website - which has been alleged of working with the Russian government - provided the website with a password to access that email and others sent to and from Clinton volunteer Beanca Nicholson, who was doing advance work for a campaign swing through Chicago that included the Harvey interview.

According to the memo, Clinton’s staff saw Harvey’s show as an effective and low-risk way to reach out to female and African American voters. They also noted recent episodes of the show that focused on issues that Clinton had stressed during her campaign. "Clinton’s staff pitched the show on some of those issues, including gun control, and noted that Harvey would not likely force Clinton to go into detail defending her positions" the WFB notes.

Questions included were about Clinton’s granddaughter, the former secretary of State's pizza preferences (thin crust versus deep dish) and her support of gun control policies.

"Please note that the tone of the show is generally light so even on policy questions, Steve won’t go too deep into details,” the memo read.

The campaign and the Harvey's producers also coordinated on which parts of Clinton’s biography would be introduced and how.

“During this segment Steve will take a trip down memory lane with YOU to talk about the different moments of YOUR life displayed in the photographs below,” the memo stated.

In the most amusing moment during the interview, Clinton acted "surprised" when the photos were placed on screen.  “Oh boy. Oh my goodness,” she said when a photo of her at 12-years-old was placed on the screen.

Harvey also filmed segments for a special on the Flint water crisis that would air about four weeks later during the same taping session. Once again, Clinton was briefed ahead of time on the questions that Harvey would ask, including one on her February visit to the Michigan city and on efforts to address crime and joblessness.

One week later, Harvey endorsed Clinton for president.

After the report hit, a Harvey spokesperson sent the Washington Free Breacon the following statement:  “As happens with many shows like ours, producers conduct pre-interviews highlighting areas of interest and possible questions. This allows the guests to prepare for their appearance and provides the most informative experience for the viewers.”

Kill your TV

The Oligarchy must die

Yesterday someone tried to call my business and they got a recording from AT&T saying "for a small fee we can provide you with other similar businesses in this area" Which he said is against federal law.

Anyone shocked by this? The whole thing is a farce..

NoDebt's picture

They don't even care if you see through their lies any more.  This wasn't meant to fool us because there aren't enough of us to win an election.  It was meant to fool people who watch the Steve Harvey show.  There are a lot more of that type and they're not very difficult to fool.

And another thing.... Steve Harvey is an Uncle Tom.

Oh no I diint.  I diint just go there.  Did I just go there?  Oh, hell yeah, I did.

Is there anything she has ever done in her life she hasn't lied and cheated on? If so, now that would be news.

At least Hillary is willing to reach out to African American voters, unlike Trump who only cares about white people. White people don't need a voice in this country - they have privilege. Politicians should be looking to meet the needs of African Americans, Hispanic Americans and Muslim Americans, and so far only the democrats are stepping up to the plate.

Why do Billionaires support Hillary?

They still haven’t given up on this dream of Obama and the Clintons — and they won’t. It’s practically the whole ballgame.

US President Barack Obama had wanted his three proposed mega-‘trade’ deals — TTIP, TPP, and TISA — to become his legacy achievement for the aristocracy that has backed his entire political career, and Hillary Clinton is his big hope to get that done for him and for their backers; and, on the economic front (not to mention the national-sovereignty or democracy front) this is the biggest stake, the biggest real issue, of the current Presidential campaign.

Donald Trump doesn’t talk about it in this light, but only about «shipping American jobs overseas» (which is actually just a part of this, another very profitable part of it for the owners of international corporations) and no one even asks him about it, but the billionaires seem to be persuaded, anyway, that he’s against their taking over the sovereignty of this and many other countries — against taking sovereignty for themselves, and so against ending democracy for all citizens in any signatory nations.

The only other issue that the international aristocracy are equally united about is their desire to conquer and take control of Russia (via conquering Russian’s few remaining allies, which were Saddam Hussein in 2003, Muammar Gaddafi in 2011,Viktor Yanukovych in 2014, and Bashar al-Assad not yet overthrown and replaced — but aiming ultimately to replace Vladimir Putin in Russia itself). Apparently, the billionaires are also persuaded that a President Hillary Clinton will press forward for them on that «neoconservative» front too, and that a President Donald Trump won’t.

All the rest of the US Presidential campaign is just rhetoric, to fool the masses on these and the other issues. (After all, it’s the way ‘democratic’ politics is done in any «oligarchy» — otherwise called aristocracy.)

The bottom line for the billionaires (both Democratic and Republican) is (and has been) (even before the primaries started) to ‘elect’ Hillary Clinton as the successor to Barack Obama. It’s a one-party government, with two competing segments, one of which is ‘liberal’ and the other of which is ‘conservative’, but both segments of which represent merely different segments of the billionaire-class (not at all the public) — and Donald Trump is winning the financial support of a minority even within his own Party’s segment of the US aristocracy.

That too is similar to 1896. But the stakes this time are much bigger: world dictatorship, and even world war. (Trump seems to be strongly against both; Hillary is clearly pushing toward both, and is furthermore backed by the aristocracy that demands both.)

"the Democratic presidential candidate may have colluded"

It's NOT the first time that powerful groups have colluded with other powerful groups to hide the truth.

Is it possible that Hitlery's campaign is phonier, more full of lies and more cynical than the last two presidents?

Remember last week's meme that the media was tough on Hitlery?

That got laughed off stage pretty quickly.

Blatant Crookery has saturated our nation. With a corrupt FBI and DOJ, where's the hope of restoring America to it's traditional idelas of "truth, Justice and the American Way?"

Donald trump seems to be one of the few willing to tackle all this corruption.

Via con Dios, Donald! The Deplorables are behind you!!

Parrotile's picture

I'd not be surprised if the "next" revelation was that Trump was "provided questions in advance too", for "fairness" reasons. The fact that these were the "wrong" (i.e. un-asked) questions, so ensuring he was a) unprepared, and b) expecting to be "equally prepared", might just be conveniently overlooked.

Why can't African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Muslim Americans help themselves? Isn't that the real crux of the problem? Isn't that the whole point of being an American? By the way, they are all JUST Americans. White people have to work just as hard (harder now) to achieve the American dream. Privilege, meh. I have been passed over many times because of diveristy laws. The best people should get the job regardless of color, religion, or creed. That is what made America; that is what has afford you the PRIVILEGE to write on Zerohedge. Privilege is having the ability to learn, work hard, and be yourself. Everyone in America has that privilege and there are many that chose NOT to take advantage of the opportunities that are here. SJW like yourself are working very, very hard to take that away from everyone.

It's a cultural thing and that's why multiculturalism on large scale is always a failure throughout history whether you look at ancient Chinese civilizations or Rome or modern times, like today.

Only Elites, who profit from the cheap labor and chaos benefit from millions of unskilled poor migrants. Trump is on the right track; allow immigration but only those who qualify, namely who are screened and will add to our society not cause trouble. That Chinese Yale law professor wrote the same thing in her Tiger Mom book---namely, keep out the driftwood.

Elites live in guarded palaces surrounded by a small platoon of heavily armed bodyguards who never rub shoulders with these hoi poloi. Yet, they fight to disarm the little people. Look at Soweto and hillary who travel with no less then 20-30 armed guards. Soweto probaly has a few hundred where ever he goes. How can a leader of a nation claim he is "like by the people" when he needs that kind of protection?

Kidbuck's picture

Many in each catagory do help themselves, many whites don't. Those who go for the free government cheese are often spoiled for life. Free cheese ain't ever going to build character. No group who petitioned government for a living ever advanced themselves (except banksters and politicians). Chinamen are at the top of the productive heap and they don't beg for government cheese.

Interesting thing to note about what you just said.  You don't include Asian Americans in that mix.  And you know why?  Because Asian Americans help themselves all the time.  I have never seen a group of people that so fiercely insist on their children being well educated than Asians.  Sure, there are some bad apples, just as there are in any culture.  But Asians, on the whole, seem to assimilate into whatever culture they move to quite well because of their insistence on education.  Other suppossedly oppressed minority groups need to take a lession from the Asians and value education a hell of lot more than they do.

MDB is suppose to be entertaining sarc. to generate votes.  It works best when people don't reply to MDB and don't allow him to hijack the thread.  So for next time, know you've been played and just ignore it.  For sure don't reply.

I have wondered how MDB could be so unrelentingly stupid. What could be wrong with this guy's brain?

Then I recalled this:

You might as well just retire this username and start another one.  It's game over.  Just lie down in the gutter.

Pretty sure Cronkite was a lefty but it wasn't easy to tell by his newscasts.....which is how its supposed to be.

Evidently you weren't listening as every night he was telling us how badly our ass was getting beat in Nam, when in reality we were winning every battle including the Tet offensive which was a massive attack from the North, but was a major disaster for them as well...until the antiwar crowd massaged the message. We should have never been there but the media had everything to do with our exit, which had shades of the same exit we did in Iraq, leaving disaster behind us. They don't want to talk about how many died when we cut and ran. Ignorance compounded by stupidity.

War is hell, but war with no intention of ever winning is the devils work.

BINGO.

My Uncle Chulo fought in Vietnam.

"One hand tied behind our backs" is how he explained it.

"Stupid orders - told to withdraw when we were kicking their asses. It was a shit show".

He told me they could have taken out Hanoi in two weeks.

BUT "It was a "war" of profit by the M.I.C. - and there's no profit in some short war - only long war."

Yeah, today the "news" is "info-tainment".  Each program closes with a cute little "funsy" to leave everybody smiling just like Disney used to do.  What crap.  At least Cronkite didn't stoop to that.

NOTE THE LINE AT THE TOP OF PAGE 7:

Chris, check your number. Couple days ago I called a business and ATT offered the same service{at no extra charge} because number was disconnected. Turns out the guys business was destroyed by fire and once I learned that I re-called the number and stayed on line to be connected to another similar business in the area. His was a pallet and gaylord box business...they offered to connect me to mini-storage,moving company and 2 gutter businesses. So I was forced to look up a new vendor with Google and found one about 5 miles away with better service and prices. Typical service from ATT, they screw up everything they touch. I'd rather rip out my fingernails than have to call those bastards to fix something that they screwed up. They know that too, I believe they make it that way knowing lots of people will pay their bill instead of fight over a $7.75 questionable charge{usually something tacked on fraudulantly by some 3rd party company}. Multiply that by millions of customers and you see how lucrative their tactics are.
