A Clinton Foundation Moment: "Unless The Saudi Sheikh Gave Us $6 Million, This Sounds Crazy To Do"

Tyler Durden's picture

In what appears an amusing instance of the Clinton Foundation caught (with its pants down) in a glorious pay-to-play moment, in one of today's leaked Podesta emails from November 2011, Ira Magaziner, who is Vice Chairman and CEO of the Clinton Health Access Initiative, sent an email to John Podesta and Amitabh Desai, Director of Foreign Policy at the Clinton Foundation, in which he said that "CHAI [Clinton Health Access Initiative] would like to request that President Clinton call Sheik Mohammed to thank him for offering his plane to the conference in Ethiopia and expressing regrets that President Clinton's schedule does not permit him to attend the conference."

He appears to be referring to Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Ali Al-'Amoudi, a Saudi Arabian and Ethiopian billionaire businessman, whose net worth was estimated at Forbes at $8.3 billion as of 2016.

He is also a prominent donor of the Clinton Health Access Initiative.

To this the response by Desai is a very simple one: "Unless Sheikh Mo has sent us a $6 million check, this sounds crazy to do."

At this point, Bill Clinton's former chief advisor and current president of the infamous Teneo Holding Doug Band, chimes in that it probably is a good idea: "If he doesn't do it Chai will say he didn't give the money bc of wjc."

Finally, John Podesta chimes in: "I agree with Doug and this seems rather easy and harmless and not a big time sink."

* * *

And that is how pay-2- play, or rather pay-2-fly worked inside the Clinton foundation. Incideintally here are Bill and "Sheikh Mo" caught at just the right moment.

One can only wonder in addition to the quid-pro-quo of flying to Ethiopia but only in exchange for $6 million, just what other favors were exchanged between the Clinton Foundation and either the Saudi billionaire or other prominent foundation donors.

Reuters/IPSOS poll just out.
Hillary +7%.
Polled Democrats 47%, Republicans 31%.
This is getting silly!!!

The lower she sinks, the more Democrats they poll.

Sunlight is so refreshing!

The polls are a complete joke. Almost as bad as the suposed Repub;lican opposition that reports that Trump is getting his ass kicked by harping on the BS polls, then we find out that Paul Ryan's bitch found and released the Trump tape to the CliNtons. So who does the Republican party support again?

ParkAveFlasher's picture

Yeah, but, you know, Trump once said, "grab that pussy".

ZH says: One can only wonder in addition to the quid-pro-quo of flying to Ethiopia but only in exchange for $6 million, just what other favors were exchanged between the Clinton Foundation and either the Saudi billionaire or other prominent foundation donors.

The Saudis pay goood money for access, information and influence.

Found this yesterday and posted it. Thought it was important enough to post again.

Whatever happened to attorney-client confidentiality?

9/11 Plaintiff's attorney is offering briefings to the Clinton team concerning 9/11 Plaintiffs litigation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The attorney feels due to the KSA donations to the Clinton Foundation, perhaps non-public information obtained during discovery could be useful to Clinton.

"you may find it helpful to receive a briefing on the status of our discovery efforts, our responses to KSA's motion to dismiss and our best assessment of prospects for the litigation and its final resolution..."

This is highly unethical and borderline illegal. If Clinton's team receives pretrial briefings from plaintiffs attorney, you can be assured that Clinton will give a heads up to her friends in Saudi Arabia as to their vulnerabilities in the litigation.

Subject: Litigation Against KSA

Dear John and Cheryl:

I hope this finds you well. And, I hope I have a correct email for John, namely a CAP email; if this is wrong, I will be grateful, Cheryl, if you will forward this to John.

For the past several years I have been serving as co-counsel to a large number of plaintiffs in the "9/11 cases" ("In re Terrorist Attack on September 11, 2001") pending in the Southern District of New York. Included among our clients are more than a third of the families of the victims of the World Trade Center attack.

My involvement in this grew out of a similar assignment I had regarding the resolution of the litigation against Libya arising from the bombing of Pan Am 103 (the so-called "Lockerbie" attack). Over the years since the 9/11 attack and the filing of our litigation, the families and other plaintiffs have had a long history of dealings with the Department of State and the Congress, principally through counsel.

Much of that interaction has involved the legal question whether the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia should be dismissed from the suit on grounds of sovereign immunity and whether there are ways in which we might expedite resolution of this matter in the interests of justice, a goal we are convinced can be achieved consistent with our national security interests. KSA's efforts to escape the suit were for a time successful, but, after the Second Circuit acknowledged error in an earlier decision, KSA is back in the case (though actively continuing its efforts to be dismissed).

In the meantime, robust discovery has taken place, some of which has been the subject of press attention of which you may be aware. Recently, and quite separately, we have been alert to press notice of Saudi donations to the Foundation. This, in turn, has raised the question on our legal team whether you may find it helpful to receive a briefing on the status of our discovery efforts, our responses to KSA's motion to dismiss and our best assessment of prospects for the litigation and its final resolution. Please let me know if this would be of any interest to you. Either way, please also let me know if you received this note and, if I may impose, share the best emails through which to reach you. Very best personal regards to you both.... Jack

The "opinion polls" are now being (mis)used for 2 purposes:

1. To shape, not reflect, opinion and to discourage Trump voters from voting.

2. To create the excuse after they rig the polls for Hillary to win that "Well, the opinion polls all showed a clear win for Hillary.

Trump strategy this week is to do twitter storm and stir up Republican civil war narrative which MSM is all to happy to pick up ... while not playing the tape anymore. He is very smart man.

They were once called the Democratic-Republican Party. They are just getting back to their roots.

I personally dont even think they plug in the voting machines. Trump is chosen bc he will create the most global chaos, allow for the flushing of the debt that has been piled up, push us toward war, etc. He might be the last president..

HRC is the jew-owned warmonger, not Trump.

Blankenstein's picture

Hence Paul Ryan trying to sabatoge Trump.  Ryan's top advisor is neocon Dan Senor, who's wife Campbell Brown was reported to have leaked the Trump tape.  She worked for NBC and now works at CNN.  (Also of note, Campbell's father was a Louisiana State Senator and Secretary of State (Democrat) who lied to the FBI, was convicted in federal court and was barred from practicing law until at least the end of 2006.)

Dan Senor worked at AIPAC, worked at Carlyle, and was a fellow at the CFR.

"Senor is the co-author, with his brother-in-law, Jerusalem Post columnist Saul Singer, of Start-up Nation: The Story of Israel's Economic Miracle."

"The book has provoked a wide range of responses, from reviews that hail its research and its portrayal of often-neglected facets of Israeli society, to reviews that claim the book implicitly justifies never-ending conflict in the region."

He was a co-founder of the Foreign Policy Initiative.

"In an interview with Foreign Policy In Focus, Robert Kagan iterated FPI's position toward Iran, saying, "It is time to take military action against the Iranian government elements that support terrorism and its nuclear program. More diplomacy is not an adequate response."

How many effing emails do people need to see before they dump this hag.

The person I'm most disappointed is Bernie Sanders. Why he doesn't withdraw his endorsement is mind boggling. Actually nm, he was just a paid shill to make the demoncrats feel like they had a choice.

gregga777's picture

Bernie Sanders still thinks Debbie Wasserman Schultz will return his balls if he plays nice with LIARy Rodent Skankton. The truth she fries them up as Vermont Oysters.

agreeing with you is sort of a technicality for me since i could not be more disappointed in Hellary than I already am. but i agree; Bernie blew it. he had a chance to make a diff... write a new history. actually have candidates duking it out in the general election talking about serious issues instead of social diversions like grade schoolers.

on a slightly different topic. i can't believe the pro-hemp lobby isn't setting our nation ablaze to overturn the national ban against agricultural hemp in this election. that's not even mentioning the marijuana issue. are they intentionally laying low until after Nov 8th to see which battlefront they face? gotta be something going on. thoughts?

32% Democrat

27% Republican

40% Independent

Looks like this poll is just a tiny bit off.

JLee2027's picture

Woot? People are abandoning political parties!?!?!

Scuba Steve's picture

You really believe that 40% Independent ... what better subterfuge than to re-classify a pollster on dispersed poll numbers.

How in the fuck would the pollsters know and the sheep would be like "Ol by gosh, see its more independent than I thought Martha. Those are the tally's I guess I'll believe the pollsters say who they are and are truthful. Der, da, der, da, der ... off I go to early ballot."

AGuy's picture

Polling:"This is getting silly!!!"

I am not so sure about that. at least 47% of americans are DNC voters. What you really need to see if a poll of 100% just DNC voters are going to stick with Hitlery. If it high, that she will win. Plus throw in a few million illegals and dead voters that will vote DNC. Plus that Homeland security is going to be counting the votes in battleground states.

It will be a miracle if Trump wins. Never under estimate the stupidity and gullibility of the america public. This a nation that voted for Obozo TWICE!

You left out a few Clinton's and she is producing another generation - divine judgment on America.

Unfortunately - Hillary will be the next President and Trump will be completely destroyed in the process because there is way too much truth to be unveiled if Trump were to win (IOW too much at stake) and obviously it is very widespread given the Republicans will give up "victory" in order to cover their butts.

This is what "God gave them over to a reprobate mind" looks like and it is just the beginning.  Very sadand i hope I'm wrong.

Dancing Disraeli's picture

Since there is no personal upside and tremendous potential downside to broadcasting one's support of Trump, many Trump supporters are keeping their mouths shut.  On Nov 8, they will be voting Trump in record numbers.
