Russia Snaps, Accuses UK, Germany And France Of "Grossly Interfering" In The US Election

Tyler Durden's picture

Having listened stoically for the past two months to accusations without evidence that Moscow "hacked the US election", and that Hillary's loss was indirectly due to Putin's alleged meddling, which resulted in Obama's expulsion of 35 Russian diplomats, on Wednesday Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov finally snapped, and lashed out at the ongoing US election scapegoating fiasco, saying that leaders and top officials from the UK, Germany, and France have “grossly interfered” in US internal affairs, “campaigned” for Hillary Clinton, and openly “demonized” Donald Trump.

Unlike US accusations of Russian interference, at least Lavrov's claim can be substantiated with a simple google search of news event in mid to late 2016.

Speaking during a press conference following a meeting with his Austrian counterpart Sebastian Kurz, Lavrov said his angry outburst was because Moscow “is tired" of accusations it meddled in the US election. In fact, Lavrov said, it is time to “acknowledge the fact” that it was the other way around.

“US allies have grossly interfered in America’s internal affairs, in the election campaign,” Lavrov said, quoted by RT.

“We noticed that Angela Merkel, Francois Hollande, Theresa May, and other European leaders” did so. He added that official representatives of some of the European countries did not mince words, and essentially “demonized” Donald Trump during the election campaign.

Among the more vivid examples, last August German Foreign Minister Frank Walther Steinmeier called Trump a “hate preacher.” Reacting to Trump’s statement that parts of London are ‘no-go areas,’ UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said in December that Trump is “unfit” to be US president. Later on, however, Johnson said that Trump’s presidency might be a “moment of opportunity.”

On the other hand, the Russian government has expressed its willingness to work with the US under Donald Trump, Lavrov said. "Trump says that if the promotion of US national interests would lead to a chance of working with Russia, it would be foolish not to do that."

“Our approach is the same: where our interests coincide, we should be and are ready to work together with the US as well as the EU and NATO,” the minister stressed.

Over the past year, Russia has been repeatedly accused by Washington of meddling in the US election. In January, the US Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) issued a report allegedly proving Moscow had its fingers in the US election campaign. The public was only provided, however, with a declassified part of the paper, which contained no solid evidence. Trump’s advisor on foreign policy during the campaign, Carter Page said that the paper was “speculative” and served “certain political theories.” The US media, citing CIA sources and unverified reports, even alleged that Moscow tried to aid Trump directly to secure his victory.  Trump has rebuffed the allegations, saying it was simply another “excuse” by the Democrats to explain the defeat of Hillary Clinton.

The demonization campaign culminated with last week's release of a dossier, according to which Russia had "compromising" materials on Trump, suggesting the president-elect is a puppet for the Kremlin.

In response, yesterday Putin warned that he sees attempts in the United States to "delegitimize" Trump using "Maidan-style" methods previously used in Ukraine, and slammed the creators of the Trump report, saying "people who order fakes of the type now circulating against the U.S. president-elect, who concoct them and use them in a political battle, are worse than prostitutes because they don’t have any moral boundaries at all."

There was never a big difference between fake news and 'real' news. We just notice it more now-a-days.

Lavrov didn't mention the millions poured into Bill & Hill's fake foundations by our "allies" like Saudi Arabia.

Exactly, where is that $10 million from the Wahabi in SA and the $2 million from isis?

how dare a US leader try to work out political and economic solutions without drones, bombs, and blood. He must be a puppet, a spy, and unlike Bill Clinton, a nasty womanizer

Once again... far more truth comes from our once bitter adversary in Russia.  What Lavrov said was all true.  Of course, when the "fixing" is done for the benefit of a good communist liberal such as the witch, all is quiet on the western front.  If Trump's penchant for revenge is factual, the leftist puppet leaders of Europe had best beware.

Don't get your hopes up too high... Trump has trusted KUSHNER as an advisor...

Buyer beware ~ all we do is swing from one type  of jewfest to another type of jewfest... From that perspective, Trump isn't much different from Richard Nixon with Kissinger in his ear...

J S Bach's picture

I understand what you're saying.  But, we must hold off judgement until we see what Trump actually does.  The Kushner position is a puzzler... along with the Goldman Sachs Mnuchin appointment.  Perhaps Trump has the Vito Corleone philosophy... "Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer".

To catch a thief you must think like a thief.

To catch the swamp monsters in our govt, you need people who know how to play the game.

This is not Trumps strong point, politics and all their machinations.

Trumps needs help, and who BEST to help but the very people who know where the bodies are berried, who's involved with who and how to follow the money. This is the fight that's seen Presidents assassinated.

Who knows if it can even be done. Americas best and only hope is Trump.

LEVERAGE, is what Trump will use to clean out the grifters. We must be patient and supportive. If Trump turns coat,I believe there will be pitchfork and civil war. Not a good choice

Guys for the time being Trump can't touch the Zionists but he can avoid them destroying him by having some of them around him.

Maybe if all go well and Trump proves to be a men of his word if he gets re-elected then he can start to take on the real establishment since at that point he will have established his own circle of influence of wealthy people!

Remember one needs powerful people to take on powerful people! One can't do it with the likes of Kerry but T-Rex and Mattis on the other hand are a different story. Give him time!

Re Kushner is a "puzzler":

Never make the mistake of lumping all Jews together.  The conservative Jews and liberal Jews hate each other with a passion.  Keep this in mind as this stuff plays out, especially in regard to who Trump puts on his team.

Lavrov plays 3D chess while his counterparts in the west play Göbbels Big Lie game in their echo chamber.

Anyone who has listened to Putins' speeches as well as those of Lavrov sees a clear unobfuscated and rational basis for everything they say as well as a consistency which should shame the west.

Their reserve in the face of sanctions and echo chamber lies of the western "diplomats" is awe inspiring. They are the only adults in the room full of entitled crybabies who believe that their entitlement alone is enough to win in the court of public opinion.

I am very grateful to both of these heroes as they will prevail and now finally have an adequate and serious counterpart in the west: Donald Trump.

Dear Mr. Lavrov, thank you for staying patient as long as you have.

Thx, Wildbad.  Very well put.  I concur 100%.

I have vivid recall, during the election, of being grateful to the Russians, for doing what our MSM refused to do.

I don't think those merican "authorities" have even a microscopic speck of intelligence or shame. They are still squirming and twisting like a stepped on worm, inventing moar fictitious claims, and adding to the earlier ones that have been proven lies. Looks like a little child in front of his Mother telling the big lie and Mommy ain't buyin it. People are starting to wake up to what has been going on. Russia is gaining credibility with TPTB's help. I like both Putin and Lavrov. They skip the drama and paint the picture the way it is without being demeaning to anyone. The mericans do it to themselves the way they conduct themselves and that is the strongest insult. The Russians don't capitalise on it either. Merica is in self destruct mode which is like a cornered rat. That's what scares me. When a thug starts losing an argument due to lack of intelligence he'll bring out the gun.

yep. like mark twain said, lying is harder than telling the truth cuz you got to remember everything.

the idiotic west has even dispensed with that requirement.

i look at merkel, schweinmeyer, kerry, all of those pigs.

there is only one conclusion to reach and that is that they are ALL operating on the Hillary Clinton method of having both a public and a private policy agenda.

they are globalists. this is what they keep hidden because none of their constituency is ready to play in the water with those sharks.

they are murderous, psychopathic liars who have a religios agenda of globalism. they have no honour nor adherence to basic human values or truth.

their days are numbered and we need to be strong until they are fired and tried for the very real treasons they are engaged in.

Wildbad, you and the others are right. What we should all hope for is a War Tribunal that would try and find all of these depraved people guilty and they should be executed. Any National Leader that participated in the Iraq war should be arrested and tried. Starting with Papa Bush, Clinton he and she, Baby Bush, Obama (esp Obama with his sham Nobel Peace Prize). Include England, France and Germany. V. Nuland and Soros.   They ALL knew that Iraq was not engaged with weapons of mass destruction. Hell, the Iraqis are still clan leaders who can't agree on the time of day. The Tribunal should then include Libya. The Hag should swing for that alone.

Should any Court examine the evidence they would find that all of these shits profited handsomely from their crimes. They are to a man (and woman) worse than Hitler. He was focused on eliminating what he thought was aproblem. These assholes go from Nation to Nation to rape and pilage. After they steal the oil, steal the sovereign gold and run heroin out of Afghanistan they just walk away and leave a country so broken that it will take 100 years to heal.  In Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Ukrain, Syria...they all approved drones to kill indiscriminately....bombing weddings, funerals, schools and hopitals.

They should all be held accountable for what they've done

"Goebbels big lie" as you call it was in fact gobbles description of the lugenpresse of the time, not a technique he advocated.  I'm fact the national socialist propaganda relied, almost to a fault, on telling the absolute truth.

I would HATE to be on the wrong side of President Donald J. Trump.

Just sayin!

i'm calling the 21st century the "great awakening"...

basically good vs bad

the pedulum has reached its cotangent.

MzMolly's picture

Yes, I like that a lot. The Great Awakening! Has a wonderful ring to it.

Maybe also the "age of Awakening "

The internet, people willing to take great risks, the universal sense that something is very rotten in govt and the absolute lies spewed by the MSM has ushered in a "great awakening "

Thanks to new game we have a name for this movement, an organic grass roots movement.

Who will be the first to try and absorb or take it over and call it their own.

We must be vigilant and never become a group. Be millions of people awake, aware and spreading the truth. You can shot a million bees, but a million bees can take an elephant down. That's just dorky. Sorry but it's all I could think of.

Once it was a little more subtle. Now the MSM is competing for the Jerry Springer prize. Too tightly bound in their little circle to know they are only talking to themselves.

Cognitive Dissonance's picture

I tend to think their only measure of what is 'news' is the number of clicks it receives on their websites. The more clicks, the more 'real' it is.

Facebook meet FakeNewsBook.
