What Trump's Wall Says To The World

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Patrick Buchanan via Buchanan.org,

“Something there is that doesn’t love a wall,” wrote poet Robert Frost in the opening line of “Mending Walls.”

And on the American left there is something like revulsion at the idea of the “beautiful wall” President Trump intends to build along the 1,900-mile border between the U.S. and Mexico.

The opposition’s arguments are usually rooted in economics or practicality. The wall is unnecessary. It will not stop people from coming illegally. It costs too much.

Yet something deeper is afoot here. The idea of a permanent barrier between our countries goes to the heart of the divide between our two Americas on the most fundamental of questions.

Who are we? What is a nation? What does America stand for?

Those desperate to see the wall built, illegal immigration halted, and those here illegally deported, see the country they grew up in as dying, disappearing, with something strange and foreign taking its place.

It is not only that illegal migrants take jobs from Americans, that they commit crimes, or that so many require subsidized food, welfare, housing, education and health care. It is that they are changing our country. They are changing who we are.

Two decades ago, the Old Right and the neocons engaged in a ferocious debate over what America was and is.

Were we from the beginning a new, unique, separate and identifiable people like the British, French and Germans?

Or was America a new kind of nation, an ideological nation, an invented nation, united by an acceptance of the ideas and ideals of Jefferson, Madison, Lincoln and Dr. King?

The Old Right contended that America existed even before the Revolution, and that this new nation, this new people, wrote its own birth certificate, the Constitution. Before Washington, Madison and Hamilton ever went to Philadelphia, America existed.

What forced the premature birth of the nation — was the Revolution.

We did not become a new nation because we embraced Jefferson’s notion about all men being “created equal.” We became a new people from our familial break with the Mother Country, described in the declaration as a severing of ties with our “brethren” across the sea who no longer deserved our loyalty or love.

The United States came into being in 1789. The Constitution created the government, the state. But the country already existed.

When the Irish came in the mid-19th century to escape the famine and the Germans to escape Bismarck’s Prussia, and the Italians, Jews, Poles, Greeks, Slovaks came to Ellis Island, they were foreigners who became citizens, and then, after a time, Americans.

Not until decades after the Great Migration of 1890-1920, with the common trials of the Depression, World War II and Cold War, were we truly forged again into one united nation and people.

By 1960, almost all of us shared the same heroes and holidays, spoke the same language and cherished the same culture.

What those with memories of that America see happening today is the disintegration of our nation of yesterday. The savagery of our politics, exemplified in the last election, testifies to how Americans are coming to detest one another as much as the Valley Forge generation came to detest the British from whom they broke free.

In 1960, we were a Western Christian country. Ninety percent of our people traced their roots to Europe. Ninety percent bore some connection to the Christian faith. To the tens of millions for whom Trump appeals, what the wall represents is our last chance to preserve that nation and people.

To many on the cosmopolitan left, ethnic or national identity is not only not worth fighting for, it is not even worth preserving. It is a form of atavistic tribalism or racism.

The Trump wall then touches on the great struggle of our age.

Given that 80 percent of all people of color vote Democratic, neither the Trump movement nor the Republican Party can survive the Third Worldization of the United States now written in the cards.

Moreover, with the disintegration of the nation we are seeing, and with talk of the breakup of states like Texas and secession of states like California, how do we survive as one nation and people?

Old Europe never knew mass immigration until the 20th century.

Now, across Europe, center-left and center-right parties are facing massive defections because they are perceived as incapable of coping with the existential threat of the age — the overrunning of the continent from Africa and the Middle East.

President Trump’s wall is a statement to the world: This is our country. We decide who comes here. And we will defend our borders.

The crisis of our time is not that some Americans are saying this, but that so many are too paralyzed to say it, or do not care, or embrace what is happening to their country.

So what happened?

1) The part(s) of Josephus mentioning Jesus were excised by someone, possibly Jewish, who didn't want there to be any evidence for Jesus.

2) Josephus had never mentioned Jesus, but Christians had added a passage to make it look like Josephus knew about Jesus.

3) There never was an edition of Josephus that mentioned Jesus, but Christians claim there was and that the bit about Jesus had been excised or not included in later editions.

Has there been any serious research on this?

Man is a spiritual being. What separates out man from animals is the sense of aesthetics and his inherent sense of ethics and reason.  Mankind knew this far long than the 19th century beliefes man is an animal whose only goals are sex and eating and bare survival -- a creature to be controled, enslaved, their worth in terms of labor extraction and something to be punished, degraded by the pseudo sciences of psychiatry through the bloated government funded institutes of health who are anti-spirit, anti-spiritual and factually anti human subjecting one to poisons as cures and mutiliation as such for "mental illnesses." The only mental illness that exists is because man, an inherently ethical being, is cowed into doing little nor nothing against those who seek to degrade and punish done on a pretense of any greater good.

God Created the Universe.

God Created Man.

Man discovered science; a gift of God...science says 2+2=4...pseudo science?

Science invalidates much of what any religion claims.

So, do we believe a gift from God (science) or books written by men (religion).

Science violates its own method of discovery the moment it speaks of immeasurables.

as I said, different deities.   Religion is one of modern days biggest dividers, everyone is knocking the dust off their feet.  Tolerance, at a distance, keeps stuff somewhat under control.

FireBrander's picture

Don't blame religion for the "dividing" and killing. If you erased religion from our brains, we'd find another reason to control/kill each other...man is, in his heart, a violent ape.

There are studies of Mountain Gorillas that are not too far off our evolutionary branch...guess what, they form groups, and those groups go to war with each other over, sometimes, ridiculous disputes..are these Gorilla's followers of different religions?...nope, they're just violent apes in their hearts.

Which 'creator' would you be referring to?

There's a lot of supposed 'creators' out there and not one ounce of evidence for the existence of any of them.

I notice you don't claim to think, just that you are not an animal.

ps Messianic Judaism is not Christianity, its not even proper religion: It is Jewish Supremacist Narcissism projected outward.

Don't get me wrong, pal, whatever gets you through the day.

But if something like a Supreme Being exists, It would surely do better than the racialist, absurd gibberish of the Hebrew Bible.

"I am not an Animal" - yes we are.

"created in the image of the creator" - you are also a brainwashed member of a Cult.

To believe, the "creator" made you look like "him" (no way it could be a woman?) because that is what is written in some book...is just silly.

If there is a God, we will EACH know it in our hearts, in our minds, and on our own..the "Creator" does not need books, or Popes to reach us, or for us to reach it...take away your books, your churches and your Preachers and where is your God?

I know it's hard to accept...but you, and I, are animals created from randomness...for reasons, and by what, are unknown.

TheMeatTrapper's picture

The fact that some people consider themselves nothing but random animals explains much about why they behave like they do. I'm glad you feel that way, as it gives me the green light to treat you like some random animal. lol.

Mr Bush went on: "And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, 'Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East'. And, by God, I'm gonna do it.""

dogismycopilot's picture

i used to be like you. i was a product of British Church of England. I didn't believe in God or Jesus Christ.

But spend a decade in the Middle East, among the barbarians, and one finds a new sense of appreciation for Jesus Christ.

Almost getting killed by an Arab did it for me. I am a Christian with a direct line to Jesus Christ and God.

I pray. I pray alot. I pray everyday. I say Our Fathers and Hail Marys every night for Donald Trump to save the world from Spiritual Wickedness in High Places. I pray for God to President Trump out and to Strike Soros dead.

Even if you don't believe in JC, I am here to tell you that if you are going to read only one religious book, the Bible is a far superior document than the Koran. I just wish I could preach that to the Muslims here without getting arrested, whipped and then deported or my head chopped off.

Few people in the west understand that in the Middle East, religion is everything. The Middle East has taught me it is better to seek your own path.

24Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

Akzed's picture

If there is a God, we will EACH know it in our hearts, in our minds, and on our own..the "Creator"

In a nutshell: "God does not exist, but if He did, He would be just as I imagine He should be."

The creator of any thing is greater than that thing. Everything was created by nothing. Therefore, nothing is greater than everything.

Kiddushin 66c The uncensored version of this text appears in Tractate Soferim (New York, M. Higer, 1937), 15:7, p. 282. "The best of the gentiles should all be killed" (http://talmudical.blogspot.com). From the original Hebrew of the Babylonian Talmud as quoted by the 1907 Jewish Encyclopedia published by Funk and Wagnalls and compiled by Isidore Singer, under the entry, 'Gentile,' (p. 617).

The Complete Guide to Killing Non-Jews (Ma'ariv 09.11.09 (p. 2) by Roi Sharon) http://www.nrg.co.il. Here is a full translation of the article in the Maariv newspaper of Israel didiremez.wordpress.com

Rabbi Eliyahu exhorts the killing of women and children: jpost.com

Rabbis Yitzhak Ginzburg and Yaakov Yosef endorse Rabbi Yitzhak Shapiro's 2009 book endorsing the killing of babies and children, adding "It is permissable to kill the Righteous among Nations even if they are not responsible for [threatening Israel]. If we kill a Gentile who has sinned or has violated one of the seven commandments—because we care about the commandments—there is nothing wrong with the murder" (haaretz.com).

"Who is funding the rabbis who endorse killing Gentile babies?" By Akiva Eldar, Ha'aretz, 11/17/09
". . . For example, [Israel's] government ministries regularly transfer support and funding to a yeshiva whose rabbi determined that it is permissible to kill gentile babies "because their presence assists murder, and there is reason to harm children if it is clear that they will grow up to harm us . . . it is permissible to harm the children of a leader in order to stop him from acting evilly . . . we have seen in the Halakha that even babies of gentiles who do not violate the seven Noahide laws, there is cause to kill them because of the future threat that will be caused if they are raised to be wicked people like their parents. . ." (haaretz.com).

". . . 'living soul' designates Israel because they are children of the Almighty, and their souls, which are holy, come from Him. From whence come the souls of other peoples? R[abbi] Eleazar said: 'They obtain souls from those sides of the left which convey impurity, and therefore they are all impure and defile those who have contact with them.'. . .'living soul' refers to Israel, who have holy living souls from above, and 'cattle and creeping things and beasts of the earth,' to the other peoples who are not 'living soul," but who are as we have said." Bereshith 47a

"Gentile souls are of a completely different and inferior order. They are totally evil, with no redeeming qualities whatsoever . . . their material abundance derives from supernal refuse. Indeed, they themselves derive from refuse, which is why they are more numerous than the Jews. . ." Abraham Foxbrunner. Habad: The Hasidism of Schneur Zalman of Lyady. Northvale NJ: Jason Aronson Inc., 1983. p. 108-109.

"The prohibition 'Thou Shalt Not Murder'" applies only "to a Jew who kills a Jew," write Rabbis Yitzhak Shapira and Yosef Elitzur of the West Bank settlement of Yitzhar. Non-Jews are "uncompassionate by nature" and attacks on them "curb their evil inclination," while babies and children of Israel's enemies may be killed since "it is clear that they will grow to harm us" (forward.com).

"One million Arabs are not worth a Jewish fingernail." Rabbi Yaacov Perrin, Feb. 27, 1994 [N.Y. Times, February 28, 1994, p. 1] at the eulogy for Dr. Baruch Goldstein, Kach Party terrorist who used a machine gun to murder at least 39 Palestinians worshipping at Cave of the Patriarchs mosque in Hebron. Rabbis praised his mass murder and then Prime Minister Yitshak Rabin gave permission for a memorial to honor Goldstein. Here's a picture of the shrine to the mass murderer.

The Babylonian Talmud is not even based on the Bible. This is like quoting The Watchtower and passing it off as the beliefs of all Christians.

James T. Kirk's picture

It is a very easy mistake to make: confusing the Holy Scriptures with other Jewish works, such as the Talmud. The writers of the Old Testament might as well been 10 million miles apart from what was 'mainstream' Judaism at the time. Virtually all of the Old Testament prophets were persecuted or killed by the same ilk of Jew that considered Gentiles to be 'animals.' The Talmud is a literary piece of Jewish OPINION about Scripture. The Scriptures themselves are inspired directly by God, and God CLEARLY indicates that ALL men are to be treated fairly and compassionately.

Nah! you are an animal created. like all the other animals, all life reflects that which created it! the intelligence we don't have will, unfortunately, be the cause of our demise, we simply cannot adapt to new realities, those who program the mass mind are no more intelligent than you or I yet they feel their access to money will insulate them from the consequences of their actions, people seem incapable of comprehending; Money only exists in the Human mind, religion once ruled men now money has taken it's place, the Oligarchs are the new Priest class and all prostrate themselves before them hoping to win their favor, when money loses it's ability to motivate people, and of course it will 'Someday' those who rule by fiat lose their power to rule, I think 'most' people will die then, we no longer live in reality or perhaps better said; reality is now elastic, pretty much what ever you want it to be, for the time being! No one is at fault for this really we all live in the World as we find it when we are born!

Feminists v Nationalists in Sweden:

upshot: In Barbara Specter's Absurdistan (and Germany) feminists hand out flowers to immigrants after rape attacks and attack the nationalists who finally have begunto fight back to protect their women from rape.

The police do fuck all to stop the rapes or the immigrant mobs, but aggressively pursue the 'right wing racists' who are calling for law and order and the right of Swedes to Sweden.

Sweden is the perfect case study of wildly disproportionate Jewish media and govt power married to breath takingly stupid Leftist imbeciles.

Sparkey's picture

As a species we are 'Breath takenly stupid' not in our instinctive responses but in our conditioned responses, it seems people can be conditioned to do anything, their own best interests are over shadowed by their conditioning, as the World is unfolding the future will be a dark place for both the manipulated and the manipulators, when humans imagine themselves powerful they become huberistic, then things go on until eventually their hubris leads them to a place where they have to face the consequences of their delusions! Think of Hitler in his bunker, did he have any delusions of grandeur left as he put the pistol in his mouth? Perhaps Sweden is the place where techniques are being tested and perfected before being rolled out before a larger audience?

Change seems to be part of life. We all know this down deep, yet still resist it. It's natural...it's even human, but it has been accepted, as long as it happens gradually, almost invisibly. Like theft, it can be tolerated in small amounts, but when it becomes too obvious, it is not only a threat, but is an insult, a disparagement that we are too weak or stupid to defend ourselves.

Progressives have seen change as our only salvation, but of course they really never liked us all that much to begin with. Change is a necessity for them, life an death it would seem given their desperation. They see this is as THEIR tipping point, the make or break, and even knowing the anger it creates, sees their only chance to push full on...damning the torpedoes in their final desperate push. The game is far from over but the battle lines are being drawn. They will do all they can to stop Trump and no amount of embarrassment or depravity will stop them.

The dilution, the division, the mutually shared contempt is what gives them power, but that power can easily be lost by the usurpation of their agenda to create actual nationalistic responses as we see with Trump, rather than chaos driven crisis that drives us towards more globalism.

It is the internet, which initially gave them so much power to spread their ideologies that is destroying their primary tool, the main stream media. Their credibility being lost in the mishmash of fake news that infects ALL ideologies has laid bare rationality....finally. At last, after being suffocated by endless propaganda "news" we are exposed not to the truth, but "alternative facts"....those things that can arguably be true in contest with established truths. We are now more and more being forced to THINK rather than simply regurgitate the evening news.

If anything is to save us, it is THINKING, using the rational mind to analyse and parse "truths" to define our reality, rather than simply going with what best fits our indoctrinated and abused biases.

A is A

Our only salvation.

two hoots's picture

Most all we can gather to think about comes from "a" media.  Without it, media, we would be setting around like a box of rocks not knowing what even to consider to begin thinking about.   One must pick the media it chooses to think about.  Maybe there is another source of info but unless you have a chair in the oval office, think tank, congress etc. your info, for thinking, comes from where?

Oldwood's picture

Since the beginning of time our human rational mind has been tasked with largely one thing...assessing risk....making choices, and we have NEVER had a single input of facts or information. It was up to US to use our mind to parse, analyze and DECIDE where our best choice and path laid. It is full on folly to believe we can ever trust a single source or even ideology. This is a moving target and we will never be given the comfort of simply "knowing" as that is when we know we are in the trap. That is our division now, two sides diametrically apposed and ready to strike down...for ANY reason, their opposition.

We must THINK, ALWAYS. Weak minds follow. Strong minds lead by example. The rest of us are still deciding.

two hoots's picture

I "think" we have the basic human needs thinking part down fairy pat.  Our problem quickly evolved first to  herd socialization, which created some inter-dependence, to this now globalization , which created a wider range of requirements/dependence.   Mostly stuff that cannot be easily evaluated at the self level.   It also  highlighted our shortcomings (US e.g. education, outsourcing our technology/machines/labor) which put us in a fix.  The self thinking part is now difficult vs feed the cows, when to cut the hay back in earlier times.  One must have the correct pieces of the puzzle to make good decisions (those still deciding) or make the best decisions possible with the pieces we think fit.  That is the hard part, thinking or not, hence todays obvious anxiety.   Other:  without a good education or a pursuit of knowledge one can think all he wants but what's not there won't appear out of osmosis.

MEFOBILLS's picture

Homogeneity is a pre-hsitoric norm.  Yes - this is how the races formed...by long periods of isolation:

At the time the U.S. was established up until 1965 it was designed to keep the population European.

In 1789, the very first congress met in New York City hall. The courts and major federal departments were established.

The first congress also passed a naturalization law: Said law was passed for “free white persons of good character.”  Diversity was not considered strength.   The founders wanted the country for “their” posterity.

(For the most part diversity causes high friction, especially if people groups are highly divergent.)

Homogeneity of a population is desirable, hence Mexico and their desire for mestizo formation e.g. la-raza.  Stalin used diversity to create friction among his population.

Only after the Civil war in 1868 and passage of 14’th amendment were blacks granted federal citizenship.

American Indians granted citizens in 1924.

At Ellis Island if you were not of healthy mind and character, or had unacceptable political views, you were sent back – including white people.

Between 1880 and 1920, our Bolshevik friends emigrated from Russia’s pale of settlement and Poland, pretending to be Christians.  They lied as usual, using Kol-Niedre methods.  So, not every Ellis Island person of “unacceptable views” was sent back, due to charade of pretending and lying that went on with this particular cohort.

This cohort of Bolsheviks then agitated for communism, and hence the 1926 immigration cut-off was put into place.  Congress at that time still had concern for the native European derived population of the U.S.

By 1960 there were 180 million Americans, over 90% of whom were white Europeans.  All the rest were either blacks or Indians.  No Mexinvasion yet at this point, and Mestizo’s were a rare occurrence, even in the Southwest.  It is a myth that Mestizo’s colonized the Southwest: Aztecs would never venture north as they were afraid that Comanche or Apache would scalp them or eat them.

The 1965 immigration act changed American demographics.  Looking at the players who funded the 65 immigration act, and who legislated it into existence, we find the ((usual)) suspects.

Demographics is destiny.

The most stable countries have ever widening circles of kinship.  They are similar peoples who have fealty to each other.  They are sovereign.

Why is it a surprise that our illuminist banking friends prefer to have highly unstable “diverse” populations to host?

Internet-is-Beast's picture

"Mestizo’s were a rare occurrence, even in the Southwest."[before 1960]

This is absolutely false for New Mexico. Mestizos were everywhere in the Rio Grande Valley and in northern New Mexico and had been for decades, if not centuries.

The difference is whether he does it in conjunction with Russia or in contest with them. A cooperative "no fly" over mutually defined safe zones would only represent a threat to Islamists...who really don't fly anyway. The threat of Hillary's "no fly zones" was that she was using them to confront Russia and Assad, NOT islamic murders.
