U.N. Official Admits Global Warming Agenda Is Really About Destroying Capitalism

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Martin Armstrong via ArmstrongEconomics.com,

A shocking statement was made by a United Nations official Christiana Figueres at a news conference in Brussels.

Figueres admitted that the Global Warming conspiracy set by the U.N.’s Framework Convention on Climate Change, of which she is the executive secretary, has a goal not of environmental activists is not to save the world from ecological calamity, but to destroy capitalism. She said very casually:

“This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution.”

She even restated that goal ensuring it was not a mistake:

“This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model for the first time in human history.”

I was invited to a major political dinner in Washington with the former Chairman of Temple University since I advised the University with respect to its portfolio. We were seated at one of those round tables with ten people. Because we were invited from a university, they placed us with the heads of the various environmental groups. They assumed they were in friendly company and began speaking freely. Dick Fox, my friend, began to lead them on to get the truth behind their movement. Lo and behold, they too admitted it was not about the environment, but to reduce population growth. Dick then asked them, “Whose grandchild are we trying to prevent from being born? Your’s or mine?

All of these movements seem to have a hidden agenda that the press helps to misrepresent all the time. One must wonder, at what point will the press realize they are destroying their own future?

Investors.com reminds Figueres that the only economic model in the last 150 years that has ever worked at all is capitalism. The evidence is prima facie: From a feudal order that lasted a thousand years, produced zero growth and kept workdays long and lifespans short, the countries that have embraced free-market capitalism have enjoyed a system in which output has increased 70-fold, work days have been halved and lifespans doubled.

And what was to easy to guess is now confirmed by the enemy themselves.  Europe has lost their rank in the world and they are pulling out all the stops to obstruct all those that will replace Europe in their "rank".

Slow news day Tyler?   This is old news - Christiana and her UN FCCC.  At various times she's said that its about trading carbon credits to transfer wealth in a north-south direction, or that it's a motive for governments to introduce a carbon tax....  Nothing to see here....

It is the globalists who are anti-American, anti-Capitalism, anti-free trade, and anti-democratic.

I was reading this morning about Comcast and thinking:

No freedom to the market, electric can be sold by different vendors over the same lines.

In the case of Comcast, bundled legislation forcing the consumer to purchase the poison of CNN and NBC

The agenda of anti-America part of their core values

And in the case of PA were are legislators made it ILLEGAL to record the conversations with this company who lied to their customers as they GOUGED them and the FCC though imposing a record fine provided an economic inventive for that company to do it!

So the guy who hails from India and hates America

So the guy who makes sure the person who answers the phone for comcast is from India

So the guy from India responsible for the over-charges to US customers

This guy and the corporate media MSM and their globalist agenda of steal from Americans and hand it to the 1% who want to destroy capitalism well they tell you that Trump is Chavez? Is it not these same people who talk of basic income?  Same people who talk of gun control?  Same people after 50 years of running chicago want to import and resettle people from an Island off of Australia?

My point in all of this is that these cocksuckers have their media as their foothold of power, and that we should never have allowed all the media to conglomerate under these satanic anti-American agenda companies.   Only by tweets directly to the people can this unholy cabal be circumvented, that and your awareness of what Comcast is, how it operates and why they need to be destroyed.

That cocksucker Sree Kotay needs to be fired fr his part in theft from American households and not preaching sediction and violence in our streets.

The eagles are a cursed football team and God will not favor them until that abomination of Comcast is smashed to 1000 American companies!

Why is this not the lead story on every channel? Seriously...the media is a joke.  If it were real there would be a thousand reporters in front of her office right now. If this isn not proof that its all bullshit then I don't know what is.

That means that the ecological and climate alarmist communities are being used. It does not mean that climate change is not happening but that it is being used for somebody else's agenda.

What do they propose? Go back to pre-industrialization times. Oh yes, those were happy days. NOT. Life was rather short, brutal and unhappy for many. Industrialization times were not much better but now we have relatively long, healthy and happy lives. No need to change that. Just change the way of production and consumption (use new forms of energy, technologies, clean up the waste, etc.).

What this woman also seems to be forgetting is that fossil fuels (that cause a lot of pollution) actually fund for a big part the social benefits these socialists like.

SelfGov's picture

Western Liberalism owes any and all of its successes to the existence and consumption of fossil fuels.

When they deplete ( and they will deplete ) we will have to learn to live in a much less complex and less comfortable world.

It is called the Post-Carbon era.

Edit: Shit. The North wouldn't have won the civil war without fossil fuels. Fact no matter how sad it makes somebody.

Joe A's picture

The world will then -when fossil fuels are depleted- move towards hydrogen and nuclear fusion. With the heat generated with the latter technology -if they know how to contain it- they'll be able to destroy any waste generated by the world into atoms.

The thing is, how will the world then finance the social benefits that are now being financed by taxes on fossil fuels?

The success of Capitalism coincided with the discovery of cheap energy, ie oil.

I've heard convincing arguments that the Black Death in leaving a huge labor shortage was instrumental in revaluing people's labor, essentially creating a market where people were able get paid their increased worth.

NordikAvenger's picture

With increased efficiency in automation the devaluation of human labor accelerates,  how does the model of crony capitalism and unbalanced redistribution of money - a systemt that we all live under today - gonna save the average joe that can't make enough money digging a ditch to buy food for himself/family?

The value of all human labor gets diminished now with the advent of automation - in every sector.  So someone explain to me how this new model plays out and deals with the large numbers of people without enough work to make enough money to survive?

Population reduction?  And if that's the case, do you think that you will be the lucky ones when that happens?

At least acknowledge that there is a crisis in the model instead of blaming people for not working enough and being lazy.

PitBullsRule's picture

Labor is just as valuable today than its been for a zillion years.  Try getting someone to take care of an old decrepid person, its 8 grand a month.  Wealth disparity is worse than its been for a zillion years, thats the problem.

Raging Debate's picture

Nordic- Let's say the year Is 2034. The first successful tests of transferring consciousness into a quantum computer has been completed. Millions, then billions will join them. How do you maintain consumption while this transition occurs? Basic universal income while you wait to become energy. AI can service the mainframes and energy source. It could take 3,000 more years in that new human state to calculate how to create wormholes and fill the void. But that time would no longer matter, time for you will have stopped while it goes on  around you. There will be people that freak out and don't want to go.

The Free Market

A lot of praise has been heaped upon the magic of the free market. This praise is much deserved as this, "magic," is responsible for most of the economic growth, complex technologies, and comfortable lifestyles we have available to us today.

But what is the source of this magic? What makes the free market so powerful? Are there ever times when the free market doesn't work?

Physics has the answers to all of these questions. The economy is a complex adaptive system that exists in a far-from-equilibrium state. Systems such as these automatically increase their own complexity in response to increases in the energy gradients that support them.

Humans have been increasing the size of the global economy's energy gradient almost every year for 150 years due to ever increasing fossil fuel extraction. Other energy sources have contributed since then but the existence and production of fossil fuels is what makes all the rest of them possible.

Even with strict regulation and far-from-free markets the system will stll find ways to add complexity and grow in the presence of a growing energy gradient. Now throw in a bit of freedom and the process accelerates greatly.

So what is the source of the magic? Increasing energy consumption. Simply that.

What makes the free market so powerful? Having free markets allows for ever greater consumption of the energy and resources.

Are there ever times when the free market doesn't work?

This is the most important question we can ask today. The answer is one great big, "Yes!"

Far-from-equilibrium complex adaptive dissipative systems all behave in the exact same way when the size of the energy gradient stops increasing. They stop growing and begin to become less complex.

When energy consumption can no longer go up for whatever reason the free market loses its power to stimulate growth and add complexity. In fact, it is the free market (and its lack of energy) that then becomes responsible for the decreases in complexity and growth and eventually leads to stagflation.

The most recent recession was, at its roots, caused by the plateau of conventional oil production. Unconventional oil production has taken up some of the slack but unless oil prices hit the $150s soon the shale resources in the Bakken and Eagleford are already past peak (2015).

If stagflation is the result of stagnant growth in the energy gradient what happens when the size of the gradient actually begins decreasing for whatever reason?

You get economic upheaval similar to what Argentina saw in 1999, what Russia experienced in the 90s and what the US saw in the 30s. Yemen is another horrifying example.

So what does this mean for the free market? Well given that the main energy gradient for the economy cannot continue going up due to resource depletion the power of the global free market has waned and likely won't wax again ever. We're going to see the global economy shrink, begin cracking apart and eventually collapse under its own weight.

It is very possible that the collapse of the global economy will make room for some national and regional economies to thrive. Especially if they persue an all-of-the-above approach to energy production, hoard the energy instead of exporting it and decrease their own complexity a great deal.

Some of you are already drafting replies in your head about how we have hundreds of years of fossil fuels available to us if only the government would get out of the way. If you believe that then I've got some math to show you.

The US consumes 7,000,000,000 barrels of oil every year. There is an estimated (not reserves, not resources but estimates) 42,000,000,000 barrels of oil that are politically off-limits. Lets double that in order to strong-man the argument being knocked over.

If we assume that the US economy stays stagnant (consumes a steady amount of energy) how many years will that off-limits oil last? Answer: 12 years.

If the Macondo prospect had given up all of its oil to the US economy (50 million barrels) how long would that oil keep the US running? That much oil can keep the global economy running for about 13 hours.

The average Bakken well produces about 650,000 barrels of oil over its lifetime (much less if it is capped due to non-profitability). If we assume we can magically increase that to 1,000,000 barrels per well, how many wells would have to be drilled per year to support stagnant US consumption?

Nice try at posting a comment that is longer than the article, but it only looks longer because of triple spacing between "paragraphs of one or two short sentences.

How clever. How cute. You're so cute I could just pinch your head off.

PitBullsRule's picture

You are overlooking the power of conservation.  Everybody hates conservation, but if you take all the assholes on the road getting 14 mpg, and put them on motorcycles that get 100 mpg, you suddenly increased your fuel supply by a factor of 7, which means you go from 12 years to 84 years.  Nobody will conserve like that, so we won't go from 12 years to 84 years, we'll go from 12 years to about 40 years.  In 40 years I'll be dead, so problem solved.

Actually the problem is even simpler than that.  We have nuclear power that can give us practically unlimited energy, if we continue developing electric cars, we barely need to touch the oil supply.  By the time the electric car becomes practical, nuclear will make a recovery, people will figure out its not so dangerous after all (hardly anybody died, look it up).

Americans, like most people in the world, are their own worst enemy.  They have everything they need, except the ability to use it wisely.

SelfGov's picture

That is part of the process of becoming less complex. I've not overlooked anything.

You can't build a nuclear plant without fossil fuels. You can't build electric cars without them either.

Archduke's picture

conservation is not as important as energy density and energy order.

nuclear with molten salt ie thorium would be a good start.

Well, nice to make that statement, and we appreciate it. What we don't appreciate is that the UN, in concert, lied to the whole world about an agenda they had, that they created and felt compelled to follow, without ever telling anyone the truth why. It's just another "Affordable Health Care Act moment", when something important is taken behind closed doors because "they know better" than the serfs. Fear one world government, for this and thousands of other reasons.
