Trump Defends "Killer" Putin On National TV: "We've Got A Lot Of Killers - You Think Our Country's So Innocent?"

Tyler Durden's picture

In a Fox News interview set to air at 4pm on Sunday, just ahead of the Superbowl, and which is sure to unleash a fresh firestorm of accusations that president Trump is a Kremlin puppet, the US president will defend Vladimir Putin on national TV, saying he respects the Russian leader and accusing the US of not being as innocent as it may seem.

In the interview, Bill O’Reilly asked if Trump respects Russian President Vladimir Putin, to which the he replied, “I do respect him. Well, I respect a lot of people, but that doesn’t mean I’ll get along with them.”

After O’Reilly asks why, Trump answers: "He is the leader of his country. I say it’s better to get along with Russia than not, and if Russia helps us in the fight against ISIS – which is a major fight – and the Islamic terrorism all over the world, that’s a good thing. Will I get along with him? I have no idea.”

O'Reilly pressed Trump on his statement, saying, "But he's a killer though. Putin's a killer."

Trump shrugged the comment off, saying: “There are a lot of killers. We’ve got a lot of killers. What, do you think our country is so innocent?”

Shortly after midnight, WikiLeaks was quick to point out Trump's statement:

As RT reminds us, it is not the first time that Trump has made such comments when journalists question his stance regarding the Russian leader. At the end of 2015, the host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe told Trump that Putin “kills journalists,” to which the unfazed then-presidential candidate replied, “I think that our country does plenty of killing, too, Joe.”

“I’ve always felt fine about Putin. He’s a strong leader. He’s a powerful leader,” Trump added.

At the end of January, Putin and Trump held their first official phone call, which, according to the Kremlin, was “good and constructive.” “Over the past years, the lack of mutual respect became the main reason for the deterioration of relations,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov added. Another important thing is that Washington is prepared for dialogue, the spokesman concluded.

“This is what President Putin called for rather consistently but where unfortunately he did not see reciprocity over the past years,” Peskov said.

Earlier in January, however, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov emphasized that the first meeting between Putin and Trump may “happen in months to come,” not “in a matter of weeks.” Peskov also said, “it is maybe the biggest mistake on the part of Western analysts to think that Trump is ‘our man.’ He is an American man.”

In any case, as expected, the liberal media has already canvassed the nation's mood and has found that as of this moment, America is "outraged" by Trump's comments, which unlike his predecessor, refused to slam Putin:

Trump is caught between two factions.

He needs to patch up relations with Russia ASAP

Avoid getting dragged into war with Iran while China/Russia block is still united, hopefully no war at all

The future of America depends on getting this right

WestVillageIdiot's picture

I am terribly offended by Trump's words.  I believe we need to be tougher with Russia, even if that includes going to war with Russia.  To take a position contrary to this would indicate that Hillary actually lost the election.  That is not acceptable to me.

Didn't Mish have a chart that showed the Obama administration dropped 27,000 bombs around the world in 2016?  In 2016?  That was a relatively peaceful year.  But the maniacs at the Dem propaganda moutpieces continue to push the idea that war with Russia is what the US admin should be focused on.  Incredible madness.  Just incredible madness!

If Trump ended the Fed, then I'm sure quite a few ZH stackers would be able to move wealth into the USA and vote for his next term.  ;)

Handful of Dust's picture

One sort of problem for Trump is he is too clean and honest and really does not want to hurt anyone, esp Americans. As opposed to Bush, Obama and Hillary who murdered hundreds of htousands of innocent people overseas and many of them America soldiers who did not need to die for Obama's Bankers on Wall Street.

Trump might have to get much tougher on these fascists as they get more violent every day. White hard working Americans are at thier jobs or looking for work, Soros-funded terrorists are out protesting and beatn gpeople up.

i won't even get into those left wing activists judges out west who want to undermine American democracy.

Hey, O’Reilly, have you even read your own books - Killing Lincoln, Killing Kennedy, Killing Patton, and Killing Reagan?

Oh, I see… It was a long time ago… We are the good guys… We have “values”…

What about killing countless people all around the world and turning their countries into Hell on Earth?

How about droning our own citizens or killing journalists and whistleblowers?

Shut the fuck up, O’Reilly. Go suck McCain’s cunt, you fucking Neocon!

Trump and Putin have MUCH in common...such as? Dealing with that asshole George Soros!

The next time EITHER Putin and/or Trump say the word "terrorist," supplant that word with "Soros."

Makes total fuck sense what will be coming down the pike.

OffTopic....I have a new way of dealing with pendejos in USA. The unaware that still believe that MSM and Wtresrling is "real."

I just state "...all politics is Kabuki Theater. Get some popcorn and get comfy. But also be ready to fly out the door, bug out bag handy!"

2007. Trump says “Russia is one of the hottest places in the world for investment…We will be in Moscow at some point”

2008. Donald Trump Jr. says “Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets…we see a lot of money pouring in from Russia”

2013. Trump makes the unusual move to bring the Miss Universe pageant to Moscow, a deal financed in part by Putin ally Russian billionaire Aras Agalarov. While there, Trump mingled with the Russian business elite at multiple parties. “Almost all of the oligarchs were in the room,”

4/16 & 7/15. Russian intelligence agencies hacked the DNC’s database according to 17 US intelligence agencies.

3/16. Trump names Carter Page as a Foreign Policy Advisor. Page is a longtime dealmaker with Russia and has stated that the current sanctions have personally hurt him financially. He’s also alleged to have had a secret meeting with Senior Kremlin Internal Affairs Official in July.

8/16. Trumps campaign manager, Paul Manafort, resigns. He managed an investment fund for a Russian aluminum magnate with close ties to Putin. His name is also on 22 ledger entries showing he received $12.7M in cash from a corrupt Kremlin backed Ukrainian political party.

8/16. Ivanka Trump vacations with Putin’s girlfriend in Croatia.

11/16. Trump names Wilbur Ross to be Secretary Of Commerce. Ross worked with a major Russian oligarch and shared a board position with a former KGB official close to Putin, as he took over a foundering bank that recently had been sloshing with Russian money.

11/16. Trump makes retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn his National Security Advisor. Flynn has been paid for speaking on Russia’s state sponsored news agency RT and dined with Putin at one of their galas.

12/16. Trump nominates Rex Tillerson, CEO of ExxonMobil and recipient of the Order of Friendship award (one of the highest honors Russian gives to foreign citizens) from Putin in 2013, to be Secretary of State.

12/16. Ex MI6 Agent Christopher Steele’s 35 page Dossier surfaces (aka The Golden Showers Report). This report has yet to be substantiated but the pieces are coming together. It states on page 30 that, in June 2016, the President of Russian owned Oil Company Rosneft offered to broker Trump and Page a private 19% stake in Rosneft in return for winning the election and lifting sanctions on Russia. SIX MONTHS LATER, in December 2016, A 19.5% STAKE OF ROSNEFT WAS ACTUALLY SOLD to parties unknown. The money “paying” for this was originally loaned by Russia’s official state bank. Furthermore, public records show a Cayman Islands company whose owners cannot be traced owns an undetermined stake of the sale. One might speculate that 19.5% could be the 19% in the report with a 0.50% brokerage commission.

12/16. Oleg Erovinkin, a former Russian KGB and FSB General believed to have been the source of the information contained in the Steele Dossier on President Donald Trump, was found dead in mysterious circumstance in his car. Steele has been in hiding since the report was leaked.

12/16. Sergei Mikhailov, who worked for the FSB, the successor to the KGB, was arrested during an FSB meeting when officers came into the room, put a bag over his head and took him away (he hasn’t been seen since). Ruslan Stoyanov, a top manager for Russia's largest cybersecurity firm has also been arrested. Lastly, Mikhailov’s deputy and known hacker, Dmitry Dokuchayev, was arrested.

2/17. Multiple reports today that combat is intensifying and there is a “serious spike” in the Ukraine War.

RUSAL IPO attracts heavyweight investors: sources

The investors include Nathaniel Rothschild's private investment company; Robert Kuok Hock Nien, the Malaysian-Chinese businessman said to be worth around $10 billion, and Paulson & Co, the New York hedge fund run by billionaire John Paulson.

The sources also named Russian state bank VEB -- which has already pledged to buy nearly one-third of the 10 percent of UC RUSAL shares on offer -- as the fourth cornerstone investor.

or, looked at another way, were cheney and bush leaders?  did they kill any of their own people?  did the msm tell the full story on 9-11, especially after the first day?

do soldiers sent to fight half a dozen wars started under false pretenses count as killing your own people?  what about droning that american citizen preacher in yemen, his son and the son's friend?  do they count?

So, exactly which journalists has Putin killed??

Please give me their names and you can forget Litvenenko. nyone with half a brain knows that there is absolutely zero evidence that links Putin to his murder.

Torgo's picture

Good post. As for Putin being a "killer", I have seen as much evidence of that as I have seen evidence of "Russian hacking" of the US election, which is to say zero. As for Putin's political opponents and/or unfriendly journalists, these individuals have many other individuals besides Putin that oppose them, so to rush to judgement and condemn Putin in the absence of evidence or a fair legal process is foolish. Has no one else here heard of the concept of a frame-up or false flag event? Has no one else here heard of Operation Northwoods, in which the Joint Chiefs of the US planned false flag terror attacks on US soil in order to manufacture consent for war against Cuba? Every educated person knows about (or should know about) Operation Northwoods.

'Conspiracy is often a word used when you want to see something that isn't there because you're so arrogant you think you can't possible be wrong.'  - Me

Your post is filled with holes.

I'll give you an example - Flynn was giving a speech for RT as a private citizen under contract and Putin showed up at the table unannounced to meet Flynn.  They were introduced and that's it.  This is all very well-known, as was the nature of the conference where he was speaking.

In his own words:

You might also note when all of this happened, and his history in Russia.

You should also listen to Robert Young Pelton's recent interview on Coast to Coast AM and what he has to say on this, considering his known level of objectivity and connections to the world at large - much more than you, I'm sure.

I could keep going and digging through all of your date claims but I have better things to do.  I just wanted to make sure that if someone out there saw this, there was a counter balance of context, not taglines.  Tagline bullshit like you just wrote is what causes problems, not solves them.

'I leave out context when it suits my needs.' - Smufty

I didn't hear you complaining about having low gas prices when Tillerson was given that award.  Where were you, seeing the conspiracy, it was publicly known this happened.  Let me guess - it was all being done to set p the chessboard for TPTB so one day Tillerson would become secretary of state.  Tillerson, being a private citizen and head of an oil company doing business there - this situation in many countries is not uncommon, to curry favor with businesses by giving state awards.

I've been in other countries and been given state based awards, and I've been to Russia, and visited with their military as a private citizen a decade ago - if I talk to Trump at a rally, can I be listed?

Your post is what passes for modern journalism...because it's based on modern journalism and not actual journalistic research.

So, I would recommend, anyone who reads Smufty's posts read them as complete half-truths to serve an agenda.

I am ok with what TRUMP is doing. Why not work to patch up relations with RUSSIA?

The REALITY in AMERICA today is that PUTIN is already here!!! You might ask really?

Today a majority of our universities are nothing more than Marxist indoctrination centers teaching socialism and keynesian principles of economics. The Marxist ideology was introduced by the NEA many decades ago.

We need to change that state of our schools.

In the short run, lets not rush to get into WWIII.

Your list is good information. My immediate concern is how badly has the OBAMA administration put the screws to America. This appears to be an ongoing discovery process.

Cleaning up the OBAMA MESS is probably where we should focus. PUTIN would probably agree.

God Bless the TRUMP/PENCE team.
