A Civil War For Control Of The US Government Has Erupted Between "The Deep State" And Donald Trump

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Michael Snyder via The End of The American Dream,

The ruthless political assassination of Michael Flynn was just one battle of a major civil war that has erupted for control of the U.S. government. Donald Trump and his new administration are now under relentless assault by “the deep state”, and at this point it is not clear who will emerge as the victor. There are many that use the term “deep state” as a synonym for the intelligence community, but the truth is that it is much broader than that. In reality, the deep state encompasses thousands upon thousands of unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats that never seem to change no matter which party wins an election. Certainly the intelligence community is at the heart of this system, but there are countless others that are embedded within key government agencies and the Pentagon that deeply resent Donald Trump and the kind of change that he is attempting to bring to Washington.

There is a vast and exceedingly complex tapestry of laws, rules and regulations that govern the behavior of government officials. In past administrations, those laws, rules and regulations have been very selectively enforced, but now the “deep state” intends to use them as weapons against the Trump administration.

In essence, Donald Trump and his team are walking through a minefield, and his enemies are watching like a hawk for even the smallest slip up.

Theoretically, everyone working for the federal government is now working for Donald Trump. But in reality that is not the case. I wrote about the sabotage that is being done by Obama loyalists a few days ago, and it isn’t going to stop until Donald Trump does a complete housecleaning.

Michael Flynn was taken out because he was an easy target. But now that he is gone, the saboteurs are immediately going to proceed to their next targets.

For example, just today we learned that Trump’s choice for labor secretary, Andrew Puzder, was forced to withdraw.

Trump’s political enemies are going go after whoever they can. Trump’s family, friends and business associates are all fair game. Politics in America has become an exceedingly dirty game, and many believe that this is an indication that our republic is in the process of failing. I really like how Damon Linker described this in an article for The Week

The whole episode is evidence of the precipitous and ongoing collapse of America’s democratic institutions — not a sign of their resiliency. Flynn’s ouster was a soft coup (or political assassination) engineered by anonymous intelligence community bureaucrats. The results might be salutary, but this isn’t the way a liberal democracy is supposed to function.

Unelected intelligence analysts work for the president, not the other way around. Far too many Trump critics appear not to care that these intelligence agents leaked highly sensitive information to the press — mostly because Trump critics are pleased with the result. “Finally,” they say, “someone took a stand to expose collusion between the Russians and a senior aide to the president!” It is indeed important that someone took such a stand. But it matters greatly who that someone is and how they take their stand. Members of the unelected, unaccountable intelligence community are not the right someone, especially when they target a senior aide to the president by leaking anonymously to newspapers the content of classified phone intercepts, where the unverified, unsubstantiated information can inflict politically fatal damage almost instantaneously.

For many years, I have written about how the U.S. government has been transformed into a police state. And ultimately it is not the politicians that have been spying on all of us – it is the deep state that has been doing it.

According to USA Today, the deep state has been intercepting communications from Trump and his team for “months”, and so this “investigation” was actually going on all the way back during the election. And now the deep state is disclosing the “dirt” that they have collected in order to destroy political reputations. As Bloomberg has pointed out, this “is what police states do”…

Normally intercepts of U.S. officials and citizens are some of the most tightly held government secrets. This is for good reason. Selectively disclosing details of private conversations monitored by the FBI or NSA gives the permanent state the power to destroy reputations from the cloak of anonymity. This is what police states do.

This entire episode makes me deeply ashamed of my country.

In the end, it doesn’t even matter that much if Michael Flynn would have done a good job in his position or not.

What matters is that we have an intelligence community that has gone rogue and that is completely out of control.

And now that this “civil war” has begun, it is being reported that there are some within the intelligence community that are absolutely determined to destroy Donald Trump. In fact, one former NSA analyst says that he got a message from a friend still inside the intelligence community that stated that Trump “will die in jail” once this civil war is over…

According to former NSA analyst John Schindler, elements of the intelligence community have gone “nuclear” against President Donald Trump and are now vowing “he will die in jail”.

Schindler, a former professor at the Naval War College, is known to be provocative with his tweets, but what he revealed earlier today is still raising eyebrows.

Schindler was asked by another Twitter user, “What do you think is going on inside NatSec right now after Trump’s “intelligence” tweet this morning?”

That was a reference to Trump tweeting that information was being illegally leaked by members of the CIA and NSA to the Washington Post and the New York Times.

Schindler responded, “Now we go nuclear. IC war going to new levels. Just got an EM fm senior IC friend, it began: “He will die in jail.”

Can you see why I am describing this conflict as a “civil war”? To me, this is definitely treason…

For now, this civil war is a “cold war”, but we aren’t too far away from it potentially becoming a “hot war”.

I have previously written about how the U.S. is on the verge of major civil unrest, and it is also a major theme in my novel. The anger and frustration that have been building up in this country for a very long time could explode at any moment. All it is going to take is some sort of trigger event.

And there are many that very much agree with me. For example, just today I saw an article by Charlie Daniels in which he warned that we could soon see “blood on the streets”…

I see young people interviewed on television who can’t even articulate the reason they are protesting. Others bent on destruction who probably espouse no cause but chaos.

I’ve seen hysterical protestors screaming about First Amendment rights which they seem to think only protect them and those who think like them and that the opposition has no First Amendment protection and should be shouted down at all costs.

The rhetoric is becoming hotter and more nonsensical, the radical element more apparent, the violence and destruction of property more common place.

The pot is boiling and it’s only a matter of time before there will be blood on the streets.

If I was Donald Trump, I would make a major housecleaning of every government agency and the Pentagon my top priority.

Because if he allows thousands of saboteurs to remain embedded in key positions within the government, his administration will fail.

So let us hope that we see the biggest wave of firings and resignations in modern American history in the weeks and months ahead, because that is what is going to be necessary for Donald Trump to win this struggle for control of the government.

If I were Trump I would give a bunch of alphabet soup intelligence sleeze bags a summer job working on a border wall in Arizona. Don't have to fire them- they will quit.

Thank you for this very honest article. It pretty much covers everything i have said lately on this site too.

The Trump administration needs to put aside everything they are doing right now and start  to realize that the situation is critical and that they have to face it and pay attention to it immediately.

This is the real deal. It is war and there are a huge force in America that now demands a coup. They have already crossed what is acceptable and legal and there is no going back for them, because they all know that there is never going to be a next democratic election. That's why everybody is coming out of their closets, because they know there is no turning back now. They either do this thing or they lose everything.

What we see is a full scaled civil war. Let's hope the army is with Trump.

As a veteran I am guessing many active duty are with Trump. The US military was totally fucked up by Obama when transsexuals were allowed to serve as of July of last year. Give me a fucking break! One day a dude wears pants and the next day he shows up in a fucking skirt? This isn't a comedy skit about some dumbass trying to get out of the military in Korea!

You couldn't pay me enough to enlist in the US military. There is going to be a point where the only people willing to enlist are criminals. I guess that was Obama's destination. Employ thugs and let them wear skirts, pants, dreadlocks, fucking turbines, rags on their head or anything fucking else they think is cool.

That isn't a military. That is a criminal thug force.

The Trump administration needs to understand that there is a much deeper group of Americans who still understand their role as citizen militia, who are the ultimate defenders of the Constitution and America.  Trump can call on this group of patriots to help with his house cleaning by providing them with the intelligence necessary to plan and execute the actions needed to do the house cleaning "with extreme prejudice" as necessary to re-establish the core fundamentals of America.  If that includes the "elimination" of all "deep state" members, the end result will justify the means.

I think the army is with him, and that's ultimately what matters. (Tiananmen Square)

I also think the top pentagon brass are embracing every left wing piece of social justice stupidity in order to drive out the traditional soldier. By that I don't mean allowing gays to be open in the military, but embracing Islam, gender-fluid bathrooms, pregnant 'soldiers', female 'combat' Marines, and so on. In other words, make the military look like a typical university.

Any guesses on which side the 'new military' will support.

Trump will need to get the majority of the colonels in the Washington, DC area on his side.  Then they can move to surround the intelligence agencies.

These asshats need to remember, Trump grew up in NYC. He knows how to deal with the Mafia. He understands fucking bureaucrats. And he knows how they use snitches.

Trump is a grown man, an adult, that became successful in one of the toughest cities in the world. That doesn't happen if you are a pussy.

Some of the morons at the NSA and CIA should be shaking in their boots.

Like I said a few days ago, it wouldn't take that much to shut down the power and the millions-of-gallons of water to your little project in the Utah desert. That data center? I could make that go poof with a dozen men, or less.

Fuck you arrogant asshats. YOU are the domestic enemy. We elected Trump, as president. You unelected dickwads can go to fucking hell.

Trump needs to stay close to the people, and his trip to Melbourne is good news. Today's press conference was a strong showing as well.

The deep state and the Soros army have weapons, and they're using them, but they're effective only as long as the average American - the Silent Majority - remain silent, or off making a living. Once they're awakened, it's the game changer. Trump needs to keep reminding the deep state - fuck with me, and you'll be fucking with them, and there's a lot more of them.

Trump needs to turn over that putrid Congress, most importantly the sickening Republicans. Cantorize some more of them, and it's possible to get some real reform going. The deep state needs to have its collective balls cut off, but we need some Trumps in Congress to get it done. In other words, Congress needs to play its proper role and assert itself instead of being the most corrupt club in the world. More Trumps please.

When it gets bloody in the streets, that's when the silent majority will take back control. There was a time when tens of thousands of protesters, yesterday's version of the SJW, were surrounding the White House. Nixon could hear them, and it was only hot lead that prevented an assault. Nixon won 49 states on the next election.

It's gonna get bloody indeed. We're at a crossroad. Innocents will get hurt, but let's hope the guilty pay dearly. Trump has a long memory. You know what they say about payback.

Thing is....If Clinton won you could write a very similiar story sans deep state...100,000 votes separated us from 30-50 million newly minted Americans legalized to displace the Deplorables.

The violence from the left doesn't worry me as it's concentrated in their urban war zones..When the cops split and the gangbangers waste the Bernie's,Goldmans and SJW I won't give two shits...The real blood on the streets would have been the Deplorables moving in for the kill...The left has no clue the bloodbath they avoided...Too Bad in a way...

In US, history has been created
by electing a non-political businessman as president
who is not run of the mill type
all earlier were career politicians who were playing the system
in order to rake fake issues with the real purpose
of making money for them & for their close ones

The entire eSTABlishment of US govt is corrupt
it went down to such extent that after looting
foreign govts they have had started looting own govt
using QE, sub prime, tbtf, fake bonds etc etc

Time for change but the corrupt eSTABlishment does not want to

Trump must do a big shake up

Drain the swamp

So I'm going to bet on the Jews for a Win.

If anything happens to Trump, the names, pics and addresses of every govt. spook should be released to the public, enabling them to be hunted down and annihilated. There are no innocents among them - they are either culpable by direct action or their inaction. The ones with integrity should resign and leave now to avoid the bloodbath. Meanwhile, Trump should abandon the WH, fortify his tower, and plan on not leaving it for the first year until he completes his purge. He should also abandon all existing govt. communications channels - consider a private crypto for all his communications, with the private keys hand delivered to his closest deputies. His people know how to do this. They should do it now.

War is hell, but war it is............

I think the compound is actually Mar-a-Lago.  Or Bedminster.  A defensible perimeter, nice weather and access to navigable water in the former.

If Trump gets rid of 80% of the regulations that destroy our lives, he can also get rid of 80% of the lazy, corrupt bureaucrats that enforce these regulations.  If you quit going around the world creating enemies, you have less need to defend yourself.  If you don't spy on the activities of your own citizens, you don't need so many spies.

Is it any wonder that when you threaten the employment of the overseer class, hired by our masters to keep us in line, that the overseer class hates you.  Shrink this government down to a shadow of its former self, Donald, and instead of being one of the worst Presidents ever, like Obama and Carter, history might remember you as one of the best.

alfbell's picture

I hope President Trump or someone on his staff has read this. He is correct President Trump... you MUST clean house or you will be sabotaged every step of the way. For immediate and fast results, shut down every redundant agency, thin out every other agency, get rid of all these non-essential government workers (many of them from the Obama administration). Just thinnning out the government will rid you of many traitors and trouble makers in one fell swoop. Then focus in on the State Department, Pentagon, remaining intelligence and security agencies and start draining them of all your opponents. Take them out or they will take you out.

Trumps first budget needs to ZERO out funding for many cabinet offices and the Intellignece complex. Much of the funding will be added back in by Congressional lackeys, then Trump vetoes the whole thing. If veto is overriden, he sequesters billions returning it to taxpayers as refunds. If not overridden, well then.... and we will know who and what extent the Congr-zombie are compromised. Layoff most to all employees, they can collect unemployment.

America is on its fifth republic. First, then it was Lincoln, Wilson, Roosevelt and Johnson. In crude terms 1965 was the last one and it ushered in the cultural revolution. A sixth has not been needed as all of us have been totally sexualised since the sixties so easier to control.

Remembering the day JFK died, I'll say it's true about LBJ.  Suddenly the crap started.  Nothing made sense.  Nixon tried to make a bit of sense and you see what happened to him. Reagan didn't really make sense in a lot of ways, what do you expect from a former Communist actor, and he's supposedly the conservative hero of the past 50 years.

In a better country Barry Goldwater would have been elected.

We need a real change.

Deep State or not, Michael Flynn was the wrong man for that job. It is better he is gone. It should not be a military man at all.

Tillerson was not exactly a star in Bonn the other day either. If Lavrov can take questions from journalists but Tillerson cannot, it is clear he is going to get very bad coverage. Lavrov is the best diplomat on earth and very adept, if Tillerson is going to look like a tongue-tied CEO from Big Oil  it means you need a real star as Nat Sec Adviser - and Flynn wasn't it.

SurfinUSA's picture

Tillerson isn't tongue tied when sadistic jackasses asks him loaded questions. There is no reason to debate fools simply because they whine.  I expected serious "jawboning" between Tillerson and Lavrov, especially when craphead socialists throw false propaganda at the Russians implying more than they can prove (no proof exists because it is entirely made-up).

It's going to take time to undo the Black Muslim's attempted take down of the United States.  He fucked up relations with all countries around the world and tempers have to be calmed before serious negotiation can take place.

Tillerson has swung a much bigger stick in the last 20 years at Exxon than the Donald swung at building and operating bankrupt hotels and casinos.  Don't think for a minute that Tillerson doesn't have sharp elbows for the serious infighting ahead.

The vendetta against Flynn could not have succeeded without the support of thousands, even millions, who chose to believe that unsubstantiated gossip, innuendo, and the violation of a 300-year-old law that has NEVER been enforced in its history constituted adequate grounds for removing a qualified office-holder.  There was never a shred of viable evidence against him presented publicly, so barring the HIGHLY improbable possibility that he was actually making treasonous offers to the Russians, either Trump folded like a wet paper bag, or someone presented convincing evidence in private that he was guilty of something monstrous and unpublishable.  Personally, from what we've seen I consider the entire episode sordid and shameful.  But perhaps they knew and reminded him that he's on record as having committed war crimes or child sexual abuse . . . perhaps.  Perhaps they suggested to Trump that he could meet Bobby Kennedy's fate.  Perhaps.  It's always dangerous to assume that what we see on the surface is what is really going on, especially with the "intelligence" community.  Even the smokescreens are smokescreens.
