The 10 Biggest Leaks Of The Trump Presidency

Tyler Durden's picture

Following Trump Chief of Staff Priebus' comments earlier, it is clear, as Axios notes, President Trump's biggest problem has quickly become a leaking administration.

Here are The Top 10 Leaks so far...

  1. The "National Guard roundup": The AP published a story this week on a draft Homeland Security memo that would call up National Guard units to round up illegal immigrants. The administration quickly denied it was considering the idea, but someone leaked that memo.
  2. That dossier: CNN reported that Trump and Obama were briefed on documents that included scandalous allegations about Trump and his connections with Russia. BuzzFeed then published the unverified dossier.
  3. Torture executive order draft: Only days after the inauguration, a draft of an executive order started circulating detailing plans to reinstate the CIA's "black site" prisons and using Gitmo for detainees. It's uncertain where this came from, and nothing has come of it since.
  4. Religious freedom executive order draft: Another draft executive order was leaked by an unknown source. The order would let private companies choose not to cover contraceptives for their employees and to speak out "on moral or political issues from a religious perspective," without losing their tax-exemption. Many feared an order like that would lead to discrimination of the LGBT community. Turns out, Ivanka and Jared helped keep Obama's LGBT orders in place.
  5. His conversation with Australia: An official told the NYT that the call between Trump and Australia Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull was heated and had an abrupt end.
  6. His conversation with Mexico: Dolia Estevez from Forbes reported that sources from both sides told her that Trump threatened to send U.S. military to Mexico during his "friendly" phone call with President Nieto.
  7. The raid in Yemen: Military personnel leaked information about the raid in Yemen, which led to the death of a Navy SEAL. They accused Trump of not having the proper intelligence before signing off on the raid.
  8. Gen. Flynn's phone call: Weeks after the FBI warned the Trump administration that then-National Security Advisor Michael Flynn talked about Obama's sanctions during his call with Russia in December, the information was leaked to the press, which ended up with Flynn forced resignation.
  9. The insiders: Republican Senator John McCain told reporters on Tuesday, "It's a dysfunctional White House, and nobody knows who's in charge." Others have told journalists, including our Mike Allen about the "borderline chaos" of Trump's administration, Steve Bannon's growing influence, Trump's dramatic process for selecting his SCOTUS, etc.
  10. Contact with Russia: Then last night, several news agencies reported on more contacts between Trump and Russia. The story was sourced to officials within the administration.

Of course, Trump is not the first president to suffer from leaks, Obama had major leaking problems too. Like in 2012, shortly after his re-election, when officials leaked to the New York Times that the then-President had authorized secret cyber attacks on Iran. Or Edward Snowden in 2013, the guy whose name has become synonymous with government whistleblowers.

It's incredible how hypocritical Democrats are. They call themselves the "party of the people", "party of the disenfranchised" - and yet an examination of reality shows the opposite to be true, every single time.

I cannot wait till the day they wither, die, and are replaced by a more worthy party. It's already happening, but there are still too many dumb people in this country. Our job is to plant the seeds of doubt in their minds. Even if they reject them at first, the truth always triumphs in the end.

Escrava Isaura's picture

Democrats will never die, because they’re 50% of US power. Power knows how to defend themselves. Can’t say the same of the American labor. And the dying middleclass.

Nobodys Home's picture

I'd think that without the corruption, hype, fake statistics and out right media promotions and lies democrats are more like 35-40% of US power. Although many have found positions of immense power by fondling the whims of globalists....and exploiting minorities.

thebigunit's picture

The "business model" of Democrats is to promise free things to its "underclass" base who are the stupidest 51 percent of the population.

Democrats will never die, because they’re 50% of US power.

The underclass will always believe the promises no matter how ridiculous because they have been lied to and disappointed so many times before that they expect it. There is no "downside" other than disappointment.

But, if there is a chance that a promise MIGHT be true, there's a huge UPSIDE. And there is no cost to "hoping" it's true.

When I talk to people face to face, all I try to be is Johnny critical thinking seed. If someone has a thinking mind that goes a long way. If they don't, you're just spewing your own propaganda at them, which I don't believe in doing, and is a waste of breath anyway.

thebigunit's picture

Probably good advice.

and is a waste of breath anyway.

Liberals and progressives are fundamentally "tribalists", as EVERY human was 10,000 years ago.

Every tribe has shaman or witch doctor or medicine man and the tribe members EXPECT the shaman to know everything or talk to the spirit world to get the answers.

In other words, tribalists don't have to know anything and don't have to think about anything, critically of otherwise.  Tht shaman explains everything and that's good enough.

Speaking of power…

I don’t think President Trump is taking any of this lightly.

If the insects that inhabit the deep state hive think they can swarm him, although Schumer says “they have eight ways to Sunday” to get you, I suspect Trump has nine.

Schumer is a linear thinking, myopic, over-confident, small-minded man.

Escrava Isaura's picture

mofreedom: Deep State Know no Bounds nor Ethics only Power.

How about this: No state, or private-power have any ethics or bounds, because these are tyrannical structures. They only care about power and an obedient population.

"But when it comes to real fake news it’s difficult to top the CIA’s record in Latin America as revealed by Philip Agee, the leading whistleblower of all time. Agee spent 12 years (1957-69) as a CIA case officer, most of it in Latin America. His first book, Inside the Company: CIA Diary, published in 1974 revealed how it was a common Agency tactic to write editorials and phony news stories to be knowingly published by Latin American media with no indication of the CIA authorship or CIA payment to the particular media. The propaganda value of such a “news” item might be multiplied by being picked up by other CIA stations in Latin America who would disseminate it through a CIA-owned news agency or a CIA-owned radio station. Some of these stories made their way back to the United States to be read or heard by unknowing North Americans."

http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2017/02/breaking-report-white-house-depu...

I wouldn't be surprised if there are more in the White House - and at least a dozen scattered around the intelligence community middle ranks.

The intelligence committees in congress are a complete sieve, so anything that is reported to them in private - even if it's top secret - will make it to the Washington Post and the NY Times within minutes after any private meeting is adjourned.

Bear's picture

These are not leaks, these are the communications of the Coup d'etat Crew, probably all sourced by Trump's predecessor's appointees or those ilvetted new appointees.

All this will do to Trump is to narrow the extent his 'trusted advisers' and limit his reach ... This is a purposeful and treasonous attempt to thwart the will of the people.

G-R-U-N-T's picture

Obama 17 days left as the barn doors slapped him in the ass, and traitorous Obama decided to add an additonal 16 intelligent agencies under the NSA to share intelligent communication information, thus making it more difficult to root out leakers.

Trump needs to not only purge all Obama appointees but discover who they are and try the leakers for treason. Obama should be at the top of the list!

To qualify as a leak does it have to be real stuff or any made up shit will do?

justyouwait's picture

I think Trump is not sitting on this and that there is a lot going on behind the scenes. That said, the corruption in Washington goes so deep that it will take a while to expose. If he can get a few to turn on their handlers we may start to see some movement. The leakers have been cleverly hidden by Obama with the opening up of channels between agencies.

Obama, the guy who promised the most transparent administration in history, went on to prosecute more whistle blowerd than any other American president and now establishes a secret cabal of spies and traitors up & down the alphabet agencies. Communist tactics to disrupt the government and regain power, no concern what so everabout the fate of the country.

This is the NSA at work. This is the real reason they record all communications in the U.S. and probably worldwide.  Not so they can watch each one of us (although that is an ancillary benefit), but so they can blackmail, control, or destroy any politician who doesn’t do their bidding, who won’t do as they are told.  While Trump is no brain trust or saint, this attempt to destroy him because he won’t advance the NWO agenda, and because they don’t own and control him, is playing out before our very eyes.  There is a war going on between the so-called deep state (those trying to implement the NWO agenda) and those who believe our first obligation is to take care of our own citizens first (nationalism).  This is fucking treason.  Plenty of people have gone to jail for disclosing far less.  The U.S. government is a criminal enterprise.

thebigunit's picture

It will be interesting to see if anything will be done PUBLICLY to the leakers.

There is logic in leaving them in place and then "turning them" to unmask other leakers.

Also, known but un-exposed leakers can be useful for manipulating news or intelligence relied on by adversaries.

I suspect the the identities of some of the leakers are known.

Certainly, the New York Times and the Washington Post KNOW who the leakers are.

Undoubtedly, foreign intelligence services like Russia, China, Mossad, and Iran have agents and contacts embedded in the U.S. intelligence communty. They could know who some of the leakers are.

Trump, half jokingly, asked if Russia could provide Hillary's 33,000 lost emails.  He could just as well ask Russia or Mossad if they know who the leakers are.  It's not implausible that they would know.
