The Deep State Dystopia To Come

Tyler Durden's picture

Excerpted from The Deep State and The Dark Arts

authored by Jason Hirthler via,

Long-time Congressional staffer Mike Lofgren refers to the murky agencies at work to ensure this planetary plan stays on track as the “deep state,” in his book of the same name.

He writes that it includes key elements of the national security state, which ensure continuity of policy despite the superficial about-faces from one administration to the next. The deep state is effectively a warlike oligarchy, hell-bent on full spectrum dominance, driven by a lust for wealth and power, and anxious to inscribe its name in history. Specifically, Lofgren says, the deep state includes the Department of Defense, the State Department, the National Intelligence Agencies, Wall Street, the defense industry, and the energy consortium, among other major private players. They share common agendas, operate a revolving door of employees, and have a collective distaste for democracy, transparency, and regulation.

The deep state is the link between military interventions and trans-pacific trade deals, between sanctions and IMF loans. All of these tools, be they arms or loans or legal structures, serve a single purpose: the overarching control of world resources by a global community of corporate elites. One can also see how these three instruments of policy and power all do tremendous damage to a particular entity, the nation-state.

It is the nation-state that is considered by elites to be the sole remaining barricade between populations in nominal democracies and their unfettered exploitation by multinationals, although one might reasonably argue that the state more often abets exploitation rather than deters it.

The Dystopia to Come

So where is this all headed? Aside from the theatrics of the Trump presidency and its sequestration or removal. What would full-spectrum dominance look like?

Probably something like a one-world market, populated by enfeebled states, ruled by a worldwide raft of interlocking investor rights agreements that allowed private capital to plunder natural resources free of state restraints, such as labor safeguards, environmental protections, reasonable tax regimes, capital controls or border tariffs. Faceless multinationals would pillage the planet, their anonymous appointees manning the joysticks of power behind the reflective glass of their cloud-draped spindles, unreachable and unelected by the armies of the destitute that prowled the wastelands below. The amalgamated forces of corporate elitism would coolly play labor arbitrage across continents, threaten and destroy defiant economies through currency flight and commodity manipulation, and continue to consume an outsized percentage of the world’s resources. This would fulfill the hegemonic dreams of former State Department Director of Policy Planning Kennan, who once argued that we must dispense with humanitarian concerns and “deal in straight power concepts,” the better to control and consume an outsized portion of the world’s resources, presumably a privilege reserved for elite whites, and a selection of mandarins from other ethnicities with special clearances.

A criminal corporate commonwealth, supported by a fiat dollar as global reserve currency enforced by threat of war and economic collapse, will be deaf to protest from below, its weaponized satellites aimed at populations like sunlit magnifiers at a column of ants. Currency itself would be wholly digitized. This move would be sold as a positive advance as it would provide better tax accountability and therefore fund future programs of social uplift. Rather it will be employed as a means of totalitarian financial control over populations. Their wealth will be institutionalized. The concept of withdrawal will fade along with the fiction of ownership.

Terrorism will become the chosen tool of this elite power (insofar as it isn’t already). Surgical strikes, be they military, economic, or news-driven, will “keep the rabble in line” as all societies become subservient to the portents of war, the fear of inaccessible funds, and the black smears of an amoral media. The ‘deep state’ will become an obsolete term, as the nation-state will recede in memory as a relic of a strife-ridden dark age.

After all, the laissez faire cult of the beltway actually believes the planet would prosper sans nation-states. As another scene from Syriana reminds us, elite capital has a very different worldview from the majority of labor, who continue to believe the state has a role to play defending their interests. At one point in the film, Texas oil man Danny Dalton lectures lawyer Bennett Holiday on the true definition of corruption, “Corruption!? Corruption is government interference in market efficiencies in the form of government regulation. That’s Milton Friedman! He got a goddamn Nobel Prize!” The U.S. already practices free-market militarism, refusing to recognize borders, legal constraints, or geostrategic jurisdiction. Why not free-market finance and trade?

The good news is that, if you can clamber into the top one percent of the U.S. population, for instance, serving as a parasite on the grizzled hide of the corporate beast, you might yet partake of unimaginable luxuries, high in the clouds, sipping Mimosas as you transit between the ring-fenced metropoles of the world, where stateless elites intermingle.

Dystopia to come?  The future is now.

Big corporate food and ag interests have made it a crime for Americans to freely sell our raw milk, yogurt, and cheese to our friends and neighbors.  Their products must have a long shelf life, and so they simply cannot compete with fresh.  Therefore these big businesses pay our "elected representatives" to pass state and federal regulations, for your protection, but really to protect their corporate donors' businesses.

Come to Marfa this June to listen and talk about how one might respond to all of this.

Or, instead of serving as a parasite on the grizzled hide of the corporate beast, a debt slave being farmed for interest payments, or a government tick buried deep on the ass of Uncle Sam, you might choose to practice a little self reliance, free trade, and disintermediation, and partake of honest luxuries like eating yard eggs, and sipping home-made whisky, in the homes, pubs, and churches of the world where free people live, laugh, learn, and love.

Choose wisely.

Want to really "check out", than check out of the dollar system:

Time Dollars

  • This experience gave him the idea to create a new system of money as a tool to connect people and neighbors called Time Dollars

Basically, how much is your time worth ?

time is money!

I'm making over $7k a month working part time. I kept hearing other people tell me how much money they can make online so I decided to look into it. Well, it was all true and has totally changed my life. This is what I do...

Time Dollars:

According to attorney Cahn and journalist Rowe, the concept of "Time Dollars," a system for managing the sharing of people's various capabilities and other than financially based resources, has successfully "caught on" in over 80 U.S. communities. As an "economic" system, Time Dollars stresses doing over buying, commitments of time and energy in lieu of dollars. The authors use many real-life examples to demonstrate Time Dollars's eminent practicality in delivering "goods" and services as well as its capability to foment trust and connections between individuals and to support and strengthen community institutions.

Another gutless article telling us what we already know, but, once again, without the testicularity to name any names. Deep State is run by central bankers, and they all have names, TBTF wealth-extracting banksters, and they all have names, revolving door politicians and their appointees, and they have names too, and neocon war profiteering mass murderers, who are also not nameless. From Counterpunch, no less; how disappointing.

indygo55's picture

They all have names? Great, what are they?

Really, put the list right there under your icon. Go on, I dare ya!

Kidding really. Most people already know who "THEY" are. But really an updated list would be nice. And the home addresses and cell phone numbers would be nice too.

hedgeless_horseman's picture

I will start with five of the more obvious vermin...

Marillyn A. Hewson
Arthur Ochs Sulzberger Jr.
David M. Rubenstein
Kevin Patrick Brady
Carla A. Hills

Paul Kersey's picture

Here are a few names, but they haven't given me their home addresses or cell phone numbers. I'm just a commoner, and they don't associate with commoners.

Gary Cohn, Steve Mnuchin, Jared Kushner, Hank Paulson, John Paulson, Carl Ichan, Larry Fink, Steve Shart Jamie Dimon, Lloyd Blankfein, Phebe Novakovic, Marillyn Hewson,Stephen Schwarzman, Wilbur Ross, Warren Buffett, Brian Moynihan, Robert Rubin, Barbara Desoer, James P. Gorman, Sheldon Adelson, Dick Cheney, Robert Kagan, Jim Baker, Henry Kissinger, Bush family, Clinton Family, Paul Wolfowitz, Jim Yong Kim, Christine Lagarde, Walton Family, Koch Brother, George Soros, and, as we will soon find out, Mike Pence.

Croesus's picture

Lawrence Summers, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Rockefeller-anybody, Rothschild-anybody, Queen Elizabeth II, Queen Beatrix, Eric Schmidt, Bill Gates, Larry Ellison, Pope Francis, Bibi Netanyahu, Nicky Oppenheimer, Bush-anybody, Clinton-anybody...

It is actually a crime--I think a federal crime--to give away raw milk to someone across a state line. In other words, if you have dairy goats in Missouri and would like to share it for free with your brother 30 miles away in Kansas, you would be breaking federal law.

East Indian's picture

But you can take the goats to your brother's place and milk them there, that is legal, right?

Sam.Spade's picture

Nice discription of one possible outcome.  But there is another.

Consider:  The Internet is the most complex machine, by orders of magnitude, that mankind has ever created.  And NO ONE KNOWS HOW IT WORKS!

As the recent Vault 7 downloads show, it's full of security flaws.

And there is only one way to eliminate them. Specifically:

1.  Stop all development on any software or hardware improvements

2.  Perform a full system-wide security audit on every element

3.  Issue counterfeit-proof IDs to anyone wishing to use the system

     and then finally

4.  Not allow any changes in the ENTIRE system until each piece of new hardware/software has had its own full security audit.

The Deep State could do this.  It would, of course, set the US back at least 10 years in technical development and keep them there.  If you're not sure what I mean, think of the old Soviet Union.  They tried this technology-limiting solution to national security and you see where it got them.

Of course, TPTB could prevent being overrun by technology from more open countries by simply convinceing them all to impose these draconian security restrictions.  But everyone would have to agree to the deal.  And not cheat.

You know, like OPEC countries don't cheat on oil production quotas.

My point is that the Internet is and always will be inherently insecure.  And that is a double-edged sword.

Yes, we have the NSA and CIA.  But we can also have an unbreakable digital underground.

Think of a network of super-Silk-roads, interlinked by anonymous communications pathways through networks of botnets.

Not possible?  Then why do we still have SPAM?  Or viruses?  Or ransomware?  Or massive data breaches of everything from the DNC to the CIA?  Not to mention the over-2,600 Botnets that have been discovered in the wild at the moment.

The Russians?  Sorry, but attacks like these take lots of manpower.  They don't even come close to being able to field it.

But private enterprise could.  Imagine gifted super-hackers forging tools for sale to any kid with the scratch.  Then visualize thousands of desperately poor, in every multi-mega populated hell-hole city in the world, running those scripts, using them to swarm over cyberspace like sheets of army ants, probing for any security leak, selling whatever they steal to the highest bidder.

Think Everyman Hacker vs The Deep State.

Thieves Emporium is a primer on this world.  Some reviewers have called it the first true Internet novel.  Others consider it on par with 1984 and Atlas Shrugged.

The Daily Anarchist loved it and called it 'Barely fiction'.  The Daily Bell thought it was so good they ran it as a serial, part of which you can read for free at

Or you can just buy a copy at Amazon (where it is rated 4.6 in over 100 reviews), or Nook (same rating, fewer reviews), Smashwords(ditto), or iBooks.

But however you get your hands on the book, do it.  Because you will never know what might be happening in the dark areas of the Internet until you do.

Effective immediately defund, Eliminate & Supeona it's Agents, Officials & Dept. Heads in regard to the Mass Surveillance, Global Espionage Spying network & monitoring of a President Elect by aforementioned Agencies & former President Obama, AG Lynch & DIA James Clapper.

The CIA can not only hack into anything -- they can download any "evidence" they want onto your phone or computer.  Child pornography, national secrets, you name it.  Then they can blackmail you, threatening prosecution for whatever crap they have planted, then "found" on your computer.    They can also "spoof" the source of such downloads -- for instance, if they want to "prove" that something on your computer (or Donald Trump's computer) came from a "Russian source"  -- they can spoof the IP address of a Russian source.

The take-away:  no digital evidence the CIA or NSA produces on any subject whatsoever can be trusted.  No digital evidence should be acceptable in any case where the government has an interest, because they have the complete ability to fabricate and implant any evidence on any iphone or computer.  And worse:  they have intentionally created these digital vulnerabilities and pushed them onto the whole world via Microsoft and Google.     Government has long been at war with liberty, claiming that we need to give up liberty to be secure.  Now we learn that they have been deliberately sabotaging our security, in order to augment their own power.  Time to shut down the CIA and all the other spy agencies.  They're not keeping us free OR secure, and they're doing it deliberately.  Their main function nowadays seems to be lying us into wars against countries that never attacked us, and had no plans to do so.

This is one of those instances, where "being a little person" is a good thing, because you're unlikely to make it into their crosshairs.

Croesus, you would be mistaken.

"Little" people are routinely gangstalked and sabotaged if deemed too awake and talking the truth, against the Deep State narrative.

Croesus's picture

Well, I've been doing that exact thing for over 20+ years, and have yet to be targeted by the alphabet soup.

The extent of my activities in the past included fairly wide media distribution (for the pre-internet days, anyway).

It never prevented me from getting jobs, or got me arrested on trumped-up charges...

"Conspiracy theorists" were lone voices in the wilderness back then, and what is accepted as common knowledge today, would get you strange looks...

I was being sabotaged for over a decade (I was not aware, but did increasingly sense something was wrong) but was openly gangstalked for the first time in Finland just before my 47th birthday. Nearly three years ago. I have been marked as a targeted individual in the whole World.

Keep it simple.

Raise an un-corruptible generation.

It takes effort but it's do-able, right?

Teach the little ones:
-depend on no one, make things happen for yourself.
-hard work/effort is required to get any/everything.
-lead by example.
-volunteer to help your neighbors/community.
-set goals and achieve them.
-the key to happiness is not being rich.
-etc etc etc

The biggest problem in America today is lazy, government dependent, un-ambitious, greedy, etc, people who reproduce and teach their children to live that same way.

Greed is King's picture

The average citizen of any and every country in the world wants only to be left in peace and to have a comfortable lifestyle for himself and his family, and there are sufficient resources on this Planet to give everybody alive that comfortable lifestyle, IF those resources were more evenly distributed; so why are we constantly subjected to war ?, why is the vast majority of people globally living in poverty ?, GREED, the greed of the few, the greed of the Elite who I prefer to call the Piggery, because that`s exactly what they are, greedy pigs guzzling at the trough. I`ve said it for years, and everything I see and hear whether on the MSM, the underground media or the independent media only serves to convince me further that the only way we will ever have peace and prosperity for all on Planet Earth is to rerun the French revolution on a global scale.
