Turkey Says "Migrant Deal Has Ended", May Unleash Millions Of Refugees

Tyler Durden's picture

As we noted moments ago, the tit-for-tat aggression resumed its escalation between Turkey and the Netherlands, with Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus exclaiming from Ankara that "Europe's politicians are under fascist, neo-nazi influence" and in response, Turkey will suspend all high-level diplomatic meetings and cancel all flight permissions for Dutch politicians.

As part of its furious response, Turkey said it would impose various travel sanctions on Dutch diplomats such as halting all high-level political discussions with the Netherlands in the wake of the Dutch government's decision to bar two cabinet ministers from campaigning in the country. Kurtulmus said during a news conference following a weekly cabinet meeting that Ankara also is closing its air space to Dutch diplomats until the Netherlands meets Turkish requests, according to the AP.

Kurtulmus also says the Dutch ambassador to Turkey, who was traveling when the diplomatic row started, won't be allowed to return, and said that Turkey's government plans to advise parliament to withdraw from a Dutch-Turkish friendship group.

It was unclear what the sudden Turkish escalation means for economic ties between the two nations: as a reminder,  Dutch direct investment in Turkey amounts to $22 billion, making the Netherlands the biggest source of foreign investment with a share of 16%.  Furthermore, Turkish exports to the Netherlands totalled $3.6 billion in 2016, making it the tenth largest market for Turkish goods, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute. Turkey imported $3 billion worth of Dutch goods in 2016. Should the diplomatic spat lead to a collapse in trade relations, a Turkey recession is all but assured.

Kurtulmus said the political sanctions will apply until the Netherlands takes steps to "redress" its actions. He said: "There is a crisis and a very deep one. We didn't create this crisis or bring to this stage."

However the most troubling development, and one which has the potential to sway the outcome of the Dutch election which will be held in less than two days, is that in the final power play aimed towards Merkel, Kurtulmus exclaimed that since "Europe has not kept its promises on the migrant deal, for us that agreement has ended."

Which means that one year after it collected $3 billion for the migrant deal, Turkey has just voided the agreement, and the next step would be that Turkey is about to flood Europe with refugees currently held inside Turkish borders. And since by some estimates Turkey currently harbors over 2 million potential migrants, Europe's refugee situation is about to get far worse, and as a corollary, support for anti-immigrant political organizations across the continent is about to take another step function higher.

According to Die Welt, Rutte and Merkel made a secret "gentlemen's agreement" with Turkey to yearly take in 250,000 refugees/migrants. They kept this somehow secret from the rest of the EU and from their respective parliaments. This is a bombshell. With one day to go to the Dutch elecions, Rutte has been summoned to parliament to answer questions about this. Rutte is a liar but his teflon days might be over. The EU will be pissed off as well. If this is true then how did Rutte and Merkel thought they would get away with this.

That sounds very reasonable AND is by the way CORROBORATED by a "slip of the tongue" as follows. 2015. Interview/discussion on a Dutch TV program ( I think called "De wereld draait door" ), subject : the exploding and "unpredicted" immigration crisis that "nobody saw coming".

Most ( if not all ) Dutch villages counting say 300-500 inhabitants do absolutely NOT want to be flooded by 1000+ immigrants who just hang around, are completely uneducated and/or just plain stupid, do burglaries, rape women, harrass young children and do all kind of damage to your property one can imagine. Would you blame them ??

Turns out there is a rich holiday resort owner on the panel ( owns a "vacation village", capacity 1500 people on a permanent basis or during the high season ). When asked to give his comments, this guy said : " O, but my holiday village was COMPLETELY rented last year ( 2014 ) already for 2 years by the Dutch government, with an option for an additional 2 years", so LONG BEFORE the asylum seekers' "crisis" came along. And at the moment of the interview/discussion, the holiday village was filled out with refugees causing havoc all over the place.

So, this whole "asylum seeker" crisis was set up from YEARS before and Rutte/Merkel knew and/or organised all this well enough. Even at the present day, "Medicins without borders", an NGO ( sponsored by whom ? ), is renting boats and is ferrying "refugees" straight from north Africa ( Lybia ) to Sicily.

ALL this is planned, by our so-called EU governments. Reason why? Guess twice : the EU politicians are being paid fortunes to allow for it. And when the whole of the EU turns into a big civil war, THEY will be long gone.

Wake up, you stupid EU citizen. In the village of Geldermalsen, counting a few hundreds of Dutch citizens, a "refugee camp" was going to be set up. Well, they "revamped" the city hall and made clear what they did NOT want to happen. The refugee camp ........ did NOT materialise, because according to the local municipality, there was no "democratic support" for it. Bloody NO, the people made it very clear what they did NOT want and ONLY THEN politicians shit their pants.

Lesson learned : beat up the EU/local politicians, burns their houses, smash their cars - problem solved. WE are still the PEOPLE, no?

Conclusion : stop believing in politicians ( strawmen on behalf of the bankers/royalty, aka. the prostiticians ) and/or democracy is there in order to serve "US,the people". Their only aim is to subdue said people, cheat on them, confisquate their tiny savings, disarm them ( through tough gun-laws in order to "protect" the people against the "bad guys" while only the "bad guys" still have illegal guns in the end, one may laugh ), and enslave them through mortgages and credit card debt. Take your savings ( as tiny as they might be, every $/Euro/pound/yen counts ) OUT of the banking system, success guaranteed. Total banking collapse will result, ending the perverse games of the so-called "elite".

FYI, I am not a communist. But I think and then analyse. And what I conclude is NOT GOOD at all for "US, the people".

Thanks for this. I don't live in NL at the moment so I didn't know about that holiday resort owner that had his place rented by the Dutch government way before the migrant wave came. That is pretty shocking.

Your quoted phrase in the first sentence recalled a teenage song, which I just listened to.  The chorus is particularly apt!

"With a slip of the tongue
I'm in deep shit
I'm so bad off I can taste it
Bury myself with a slip of the tongue"

https://youtu.be/T28PTWGmdYw

"And when the whole of the EU turns into a big civil war, THEY will be long gone."

Where to, though?  If they end up in New Zealand (off the southeast coast of Australia, although I remember it being off the northeast coast), will they be able to effectively hide?

I remember this scene from True Grit, where the bad guys were holed up in a cabin, and the one-eyed protagonist put a jacket over the chimney, smoking them out.

Opening the gates and allowing a deluge of millions of the Muslim to lurch and stumble toward Europe is akin to a zombie apocalypse.  Although that being said, the method to try and at protect the humans of Europe would be to forget the tanks and armored divisions and instead use birds armed with miniguns, deep rows of soldiers aiming for the legs to slow the horde down and sharpshooters to pick off the stragglers.  Remember: head shots down the beats permanently but leg shots can cause a traffic jam and slow down the herd.  Also be sure to fall back if any in the herd get too close because all it takes is a bite or a scratch and you are toast.  Renamination is quick and in seconds you will be back on your feet chittering Ally Chalkbar and joining the horde.

The Turks have been invading Europe for about the past 800 years. Do you really think they're going to stop now?

LoveTruth's picture

I have been saying for a long time. The EU must built ASAP walls on it external borders Greece and Bulgaria and finance vigilante groups who are allowed to push back immigrants. As soon as the are cought send them back to Turkey.

Turkey financed and supported the civil war in Syria together with the gulf states. Why the Balkan countries have to deal with immigrants?

Reptil's picture

The EU is really a fascist, neo-liberal construct, that allows a group of unelected establisment rulers to dictate what happens in the whole continent.
We can't even revoce the Association Treaty (1963) as a souverign nation, because Brussels decides.
Yesterday, a lot of european leaders pledged support for the Netherlands in keeping the turks out. But that's just damage control.
No german officials prevented the turkish ministers from travelling to the Netherlands, they could do whatever they wanted in Germany and France both.
So fuck the EU. Let's bring back the E.E.C. which was a trade federation with other coöperation, not this central planning nonsense. No one here asked for that shit.

The refugee crisis is fallout of the many imperialist wars, fought on our behalf but destructive to their and our countries both.
If you want this to stop, stop bombing their countries to shit. It's really quite simple.

Building a wall is IMO miopic and damaging. The dutch are traders, and need to be welcome to do so, all over the world. To turn our backs will only get us all deeper into this neo-liberal/neo-conservative nightmare, of chaos and plunder.
To maintain a wall, huge resources must be called on, it's fairly impossible to secure the south borders.

Reptil's picture

Erdogan is one of those type dictators that screams a lot and does anything he wants until he is stopped.

About the recent diplomatic row in the Netherlands: Turkish officials tried to enter and reach the Consulate after being warned not to come. Basically they were "persona non grata". No souverign country is obliged to let some official enter their territory, the rules for diplomatic immunity only apply for those diplomats already inside. Also the two turkish ministers were not part of any official diplomatic mission, they were just there to promote Erdogan in the coming referendum in Turkey, which is supposed to give the usurper even more power.

Like a bull in a porcelain shop, Erdogan's goons trampled the carefully built up relations between the dutch and the turkish-dutch. There's an Asssociation Treaty from 1963, that allows turkish citizens to have two passports, and be turkish and dutch citizens both. That is, I think the main cause of this whole confused turkish action; they thought they could muscle themselves into the Netherlands and then make such a row, that the dutch would have to retreat. So a member of parliament called for disbanding this treaty, effectively making the dutch-turkish citizens choose. Another called for more appeasement but with Turkey backtracking on this (paid for) refugee deal, I guess it's obvious the guy's an idiot (Groen Links). IMO this whole thing is fallout from another stupid globalist play. Which country allows another to campaign so blatantly inside it's borders, 5 days before a main election? This part of the dutch turks really act like they're shitting on the dutch. A lot of goodwill has been destroyed. The dutch turks were warned last summer, when they displayed affiliation to Erdogan, waving turkish flags in dutch cities.

The deal about the refugees always has been a bad one. The syrians fleeing their country aren't really friends with the turks.
And as anyone could read here, on Zerohedge, Erdogan supported ISIS for a long time.

As a dutch guy I'd say Erdogan is right calling our leaders are fascist. And he's a piece of shit that attacked us and destroyed the relations between our countries.
So fuck him and the horse he rode in on. And fuck these idiot turks, that have profited just as much as the dutch elite have.
Fuck their blatant racism, their mistaken idea of being superior. Fuck their unprovoced agression. And fuck their intolerance against turks that don't support Erdogan.
I remember Gezi Park.

This was thought to be a much more precise campaign where the "Refuges" would return home after ashort mealstorm and be happy with the new ruler in place.   Why did it fail?

Reptil's picture

Because with western help, or even by western doing, their countries were bombed to shit. And ours weren't. It's only natural that refugees expect empathy and lenience from the supposed "bastion of humanity"; Europe. But no, the european leaders made a deal with their friend Erdogan.
Possibly at the Bilderberg conference where they sat at one table, discussing their neo-liberal cunning plans.
But Erdogan really shat on all of that. He knows how corrupt the european leaders are. But he has miscounted on the will of the people. (Turks supporting their strong man Erdogan generally think dutch are weak and that they are in conflict with the dutch.)

The whole refugee crisis has been used as a tool to rile up support against non-europeans. Both by totally mishandling it, letting economic refugees come along with the real displaced, and then dropping them in a very different culture, without much guidance. At the expense of the indigenous population that don't have access to large funds to protect themselves. Then the media was very negative throughout, about these refugees, furthering racism and rejection.
But the main issue remains that the neo-liberals and neo-conservatives (USA) helped destroy the countries the came from, or the countries that were serving the role as gateway to Europe (Libya).

Well done! Slow clap

Everybody is Missing It

To stop the Turkish Refugees all one has to do is let the state make a profit off them and make sure they know it..

'In our 500 square mile greenhouse complex you will be paid 5 cents for every pound of Tomatoes you pick size and box. You are welcome to buy them at the end of your shift for $5 / pound.  You may also pick beans, and buy them for your rice meals which you should be able to afford if you pick  and process roughly 400 lbs of food a day.  All your food can be purchased after hours with the money you make working in the greenhouses. Everything you will do here is paid by how much you can accomplish. Because you have needed support you must also be sterilized from reproducing while staying here. You may buy a free market ticket to leave Europe only... After 5 years of service in the greenhouse you may apply for a EU membership.  This is a economic exclusion zone therefore there is no minimum wage, no minimum age. If all your children feel they can assist you in your work you may put them to do so, that is up to you.  Do not mind the soldiers who surround the greenhouses they are there for your safety.

Kids may attend the Eurpean Advantage indoctrination courses. They will not be taught anything useful that would enable them to competitively integrate but left with low level basic math to assist them in being able to understand how many pounds of food they need to do in the greenhouses while they work here..

Thank You for making food in Europe very cheap for the rest of the citizens.

Do note we have other exclusion zones for manufacturing our European televisions, products, cement works, and infrastructure like street lamps. They too pay by the pound.

Because of your sacrifices you have made for Europe we can now compete with Chinese slaves GDP production and we would welcome your other family members to come work in the camps.

"Chancellor Konrad Adenauer today rejected proposals that the German Government establish a special commission for denazification of anti-Semitic and anti-democratic elements in the federal administration, Judiciary, educational services and the press.

Dr. Gerhard Schroeder, Minister of the Interior, told newspapermen here that the Chancellor “will not consider such a move,” declaring that such action might result in “unnecessary difficulties.” “With the help of the people,” Dr. Schroeder said, “the authorities can deal with the problem, without resorting to such drastic step.”

Dutch Froggy's picture

The Dutch government had requested the Turkish government not to hold any pro Erdogan campaign mass rallies in the Netherlands. The Turkish government has willingly chosen to neglect these requests. It directed its foreign minister Cavusoglu to go the Netherlands to hold a pro Erdogan campaign rally. After been threatened by the Turkish government the Dutch government denied foreign minister Cavusoglu access to the Netherlands. Alternatively the Turkish government directed minister Kaya of the Department of Family Affiars, who was in Germany, to go to the Netherlands in order to hold a pro Erdogan campaign rally. This despite the Dutch request not to go to the Netherlands. The Turkish used various cars when entering the Netherlands in order to deceive the Dutch authorities. The use of several cars made it difficult to detect in which car minister Kaya was seated. As she deliberately ignored the request of the Dutch government and did not enjoy diplomatic immunity minister Kaya was escorted back to Germany. During this process there was frequent contact between the Dutch and Turkish governments. The Dutch requests was at all times completely ignored. Instead of cooperating the Turkish government chose to publicly threaten the Dutch government while diplomatic efforts where still going on.

To use the words of the Dutch journalist Sylvain Ephimenco: The Turkish government demands that Turkish censors who have deprived Turkish journalists of their freedom of expression in Turkey should have the opportunity to hold mass rallies in the Netherlands to poison minds in the name of freedom of expression.

Under Turkish law campaigning abroad is an administrative violation within the authority of the Turkish Supreme Board of Elections (SBE). Erdogan’s government willingly and deliberately violates the rules of Turkish Supreme Board of Elections (SBE).

So let me see:
Obama campaigning in Ukraine's elections, Israel's elections, the UK's BrExit vote, and more - OK (by the left)
Turkey campaigning against nationalist movements in Europe - OK (by the left)
Putin's gregarious ambassador mixing it up with various US politicians - not OK.
Double standard, much.

May the muslim Spring Offensive towards Europe FINALLY open the eyes of even the most obtuse globalists.

The idiot past politicians of The Netherlands now have a burgeoning nightmare to witness; hoards of shaved headed bearded men screaming about a concept of god created by 7th Century warlord. While it was the best thing the warlord could conjure the Dutch should be whipped collectively for allowing these creatures within 1000 kilometers of their borders.

How fucking stupid are these ex-politicians?

We may never know but for certain make it a priority that the idiots suffer the most for thinking muslims are decent, normal folk. In fact offer the children of the dumb Dutch for some type of Koranic "consumption". The muslims will be  more than eager to defile the innocents. Just make sure there's plenty of video for forced viewing by the parents of the deceased.
