Wikileaks Releases "NightSkies 1.2": Proof CIA Bugs "Factory Fresh" iPhones

Tyler Durden's picture

The latest leaks from WikiLeaks' Vault 7 is titled “Dark Matter” and claims that the CIA has been bugging “factory fresh” iPhones since at least 2008 through suppliers.  The full documents are expected to be released after a 10 a.m. EDT “press briefing” that WikiLeaks promoted on its Twitter.

Here is a live stream of the pending press briefing with Julian Assange:

And here is the full press release from WikiLeaks:

Today, March 23rd 2017, WikiLeaks releases Vault 7 "Dark Matter", which contains documentation for several CIA projects that infect Apple Mac Computer firmware (meaning the infection persists even if the operating system is re-installed) developed by the CIA's Embedded Development Branch (EDB). These documents explain the techniques used by CIA to gain 'persistence' on Apple Mac devices, including Macs and iPhones and demonstrate their use of EFI/UEFI and firmware malware.

Among others, these documents reveal the "Sonic Screwdriver" project which, as explained by the CIA, is a "mechanism for executing code on peripheral devices while a Mac laptop or desktop is booting" allowing an attacker to boot its attack software for example from a USB stick "even when a firmware password is enabled". The CIA's "Sonic Screwdriver" infector is stored on the modified firmware of an Apple Thunderbolt-to-Ethernet adapter.

"DarkSeaSkies" is "an implant that persists in the EFI firmware of an Apple MacBook Air computer" and consists of "DarkMatter", "SeaPea" and "NightSkies", respectively EFI, kernel-space and user-space implants.

Documents on the "Triton" MacOSX malware, its infector "Dark Mallet" and its EFI-persistent version "DerStake" are also included in this release. While the DerStake1.4 manual released today dates to 2013, other Vault 7 documents show that as of 2016 the CIA continues to rely on and update these systems and is working on the production of DerStarke2.0.

Also included in this release is the manual for the CIA's "NightSkies 1.2" a "beacon/loader/implant tool" for the Apple iPhone. Noteworthy is that NightSkies had reached 1.2 by 2008, and is expressly designed to be physically installed onto factory fresh iPhones. i.e the CIA has been infecting the iPhone supply chain of its targets since at least 2008.

While CIA assets are sometimes used to physically infect systems in the custody of a target it is likely that many CIA physical access attacks have infected the targeted organization's supply chain including by interdicting mail orders and other shipments (opening, infecting, and resending) leaving the United States or otherwise.

Pedo blackmail, split personality mind control, blood rituals, and corrupt banking have helped the puppetmasters rule the world for hundreds of years... or maybe thousands.  John Podesta is following in the bloody footsteps of the Illuminati, who manipulated the French Revolution on behalf of the Rothschilds:

Speaking of the past, here is Donald Trump mentioning Pizzagate and Anthony Weinergate in the same sentence.  In 2011.

Here, "Pizzagate" was Donald Trump's word for the media dogpiling him for eating pizza with a fork.  Even back then they were doing the Two Minutes Hate against Trump.

Some conspiranoids are now saying Trump got plans for a time machine from his uncle, who got the plans from the FBI, who plundered Nikola Tesla's papers after Otto Skorzeny killed him.  I think this is a red herring.

More likely that Trump knew about the Clinton cell of the pizza cult.  Or maybe God put the satan-worshipping pedophiles on notice.  Or maybe meme magic can change the past.  Or maybe this is Kek's first joke of the modern era.  At the time of Trump's call, Kek had just been accidentally summoned by 4chan.  They did this by giving him an avatar (Pepe the Frog) and chanting 'Kek' a million times (it's orcish for Lol).

I hope you are right, and its just that the indoctrinated snowflakes a minority, but the fact is, millenials show significant support for speech restrictions and supported Hitlary.

In large part they grew up in unstable homes, manty without Dad, and went through the whole "showing up is worth a trophy" mentality. It's a miracle they aren't all insane.

In a honest country where the rule of law applies to all, USA prisons would be filled with CIA and NSA operatives.  Instead, we live in a banana republic, without the bananas.

The good news about the 2nd Amendment is that no fruitcake company can steal it from you with an app.

Hmm; there already exist electronic trigger locks...

OK, well, just try to put any of those on the stuff in my safe room.

..or the other 300 million similar things out there now.

TwelveOhOne's picture

Exactly, I was a little too terse and understand the downvotes.  I wasn't advocating them, merely extrapolating -- I know of electronic trigger locks, and I know of trigger locks that are linked to a phone app, so I was too-concisely saying that those apps could be abused.

I'm right there with you though, on the non-acceptance of any "legislation" passed that requires modifications of any sort to firearms.

And people I know wonder why I don't own an iPhone or iMAC.

Remember, APPLE is the same company that introduced an application on iPhone to corrupt the election process.

The application was used to TRADE VOTES in states that had extra HRC votes to states that had TRUMP lead.

CEO TIM COOK (a pervert) should be in JAIL for election fraud!!!!

My VOTE ... bust APPLE up and make them repatriate BILLIONS BACK TO US and TAX the money!!!!

The vast majority of the Millennials don't fit the media advertising script.  So we don't hear about them.

I was born just between the Baby Boom and "Gen X."  Madison Avenue could never figure out how to market to us, so they just ignored us.

As always, they play up the photogenic urban rich kids.  They can't be bothered to pay any attention to the other 99% of us, who have to work for a living and have to live life like a high-wire act with no net.  That's not good TV advertising.  That's way too real.  And we can't connect the media or political types with free tickets to Hamilton, so they have no use for us whatsoever.

Besides, every generation likes to say we're all going to hell and it's all because of those damn kids who won't get off our lawn.  They were saying that in Ancient Greece, even.

gunzeon's picture

aren't we Generation Jones ? Late 1950s to early 1960s ?

Ive never heard the gen Jones term but that year range is just the second half of the boomer gen.

Gee, instead of it not being true (your logic is illogical - because everyone says it in no way implies that it is false, this is cliche'd "thinking" if you can even call it that) could it be that perhaps there has been an accelerating pattern of moral/ethical corruption with each passing generation?

I mean, look at the pattern of key social indicators with each passing generation. Nothing but a downward slope. Violent crime, materialism, family loyalty, unwed pregnancies, I could go on and on.

Think Black Friday shit would have happened in 1950?

I know that my generation was more fucked up than my parents, and I also know that the next generation is spades more fucked up than mind.

Helix6's picture

My friend Bob agrees.  He says maybe the folks who hold that the next generation sucks are right.  Each generation is just a little worse than the one that came before.  Kinda fits with my experience during my time here.

NumNutt's picture

Just wait until your "millennials" get fist fucked in the ass five or six times by the government, banks, and their corporation (which demands un-questioned loyalty), they will also start having the same attitude as the Gen X'ers. You can only kick a dog so many times before he either dies, runs away, or fights back.

froze25's picture

Time will tell, they are far more libertarian in their views than the older guys. But than again some of them that started at the same level as the Gen-Xers have already been promoted and are making more money then them and 1 is making much more money now, simply by being willing to learn and expand their skill sets. The Gen-Xer's (with the exception of 1 [ex-military]) make zero effort to learn new skills and take on more responsibilities and then expect better pay just because they hang around. This kinda compounds the problem because now the Gen-Xer's resent the millennials but hey, they did that to them selves. Now the Boomers I have are all good and have a very similar attitude the Millennials have.

Upvoted you and not because I`m a millenial. Late fourthies here, me and my teenage friends

all became rich with ease (even the fools) because having money on your mind was all it

took to win it all in that generation that tried to be even more wasted than the boomers.

Lazy fucks the world had not seen before, especially too lazy to think for themselfes.

Playwrights , movies , TV and popular music would do, no need to ever switch on ones brain.

My parents generation (boomers) where complete idiologically challenged fools, their parents too except all the good guys that died in the war and some of the empowered woman that ran things instead.

My generation (late boomer/X) already fully submerged into pop-subculture was blessed with celebrating the newly-decadent eighties but only to die off soon after, most are still walking earth but as zombies after what popular unculture they got fed into their every hole . Brainwashed to the third degree, they know no kings no aristocracy no roots whatsoever, they could not even name their own great grandfather . If they die, which they tend to do rather early , all they leave behind is a CD collection and unknown children born out of

Spent the last 15 years with millenial friends/empoyees only and it was like ruling

one-eyed over the blind. A lot less rebellious than me and my equally misfit friends who

later hit it big in life by being both clever and bold . I know all the rich self-made people

in my hometown and none is a millenial. What the millenials have going for them even though they seem to be generally much lower

educated in terms of basic schooling/common knowledge which turned out to be just a drag on their forefathers nurtured in fake history and useless knowledge,

is their sceptic approach to almost everything, whether it be the past or present or the furture.

As in every other generation one could still chose to act differently but no kids ever had it so easy

as millenials but so little role models except the ones they rightly chose not to copy.

As they come of age , they will start to shape the narrative and being a paused reflective generation,

they are the ones taking guidance among the best that came before and are still forthcoming .

Mocking generations is all fine and good but better done in humor starting at your own.

P.S. Mock current teens all you want , but all I see is many a good boy and girl beyond clued to a gadget, they are aware and alive and buy even less of the BS that is incestantly fed unto them.

How can you be in your late 40s and be considered a millenial? That's Gen-X territory.

Just like the Boomers never took responsibility for their actions, their children (Gen X) are also a cohort failing their country.

The millennials look to be the beginning of American renewal, because they understand themselves better than anyone in several generations (as a cohort).

Millennials are getting a bad rap for a few bad apple Marxist and being blamed for what are essentially organized jewish and foreign movements in academia, media, and politics.

Socratic Dog's picture

Which movements have existed for many generations, with one goal: make the world safe for jews by destroying any competition.  And the competition happens to be white culture.

Experience tells me millenials may work hard but the vast majority are ignorant and misinformed in terms of economics, politics, geopolitics, and what its truly like to live during a difficult time.

Battlefield USA's picture

That's funny, my wife manages a shit-load of millennials and has the opposite experience with them. She has to frikkin baby-sit them. Heaven forbid if she raises her voice one octave as they will just shut down, and get the "Why are you yelling at me?" She takes a vacation, and then comes back, and it's as if the whole department took a vacation with her, and the place is a disaster. Try firing one of these babies? Almost impossible. I laughed my ass off when she came home one day and told me she had to take a class on how to handle millennials. In other words, how to pamper them and massage their ego's. The snowflake boys come to work dressed like frikkin sluts... just like the girls, all taking endless selfies day in and day out together, despite the "strict" no cell-phone policy while "working". These little pissy babies know how to work the system. Just cry woe is me. During the election, it was Hillary Clinton all day in and out. Give them directions, which they constantly need, and they look at YOU like you are the stoo-pid one.

Barney Fife's picture

I won't hire their age group unless they are foreign born and raised. Fucking horribly uneducated lot that spent a lot of time in a classroom but learned very little. What the hell did they do all those years? Text??

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

It's time to start jailing people.  For the public officials involved in the decision making:  capital punishment.  Better still if we can sell pay per view rights to their executions.  Even better still if the execution method involves a wood chipper with dull blades.  Even better that than if we sponsor a lottery with numbers on seagulls, and your winning-numbered seagull is able to steal a large fleshy bit in the debris pile from one of the many raccoons we'll leave roaming the grounds to clean-up the mess.
