Ron Paul: "Zero Chance" Assad Behind Chemical Weapons Attack In Syria; Likely A False Flag

Tyler Durden's picture

According to former Congressman Ron Paul, the chemical weapons attack in Khan Sheikhoun that killed 30 children and has led to calls for the Trump administration to intervene in Syria could have been a false flag attack.

As Paul Joseph Watson details, pointing out that the prospect of peace in Syria was moving closer before the attack, with ISIS and Al-Qaeda on the run, Paul said the attack made no sense.

“It looks like maybe somebody didn’t like that so there had to be an episode,” said Paul, asking, “who benefits?”

It doesn’t make any sense for Assad under these conditions to all of a sudden use poison gases – I think there’s zero chance he would have done this deliberately,” said Paul.

he former Congressman went on to explain how the incident was clearly being exploited by neo-cons and the deep state to enlist support for war.

“It’s the neo-conservatives who are benefiting tremendously from this because it’s derailed the progress that has already been made moving toward a more peaceful settlement in Syria,” said Paul.

Many have questioned why Assad would be so strategically stupid as to order a chemical weapons attack and incite the wrath of the world given that he is closer than ever to winning the war against ISIS and jihadist rebels.

Just five days before the attack, U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said, “The longer-term status of President Assad will be decided by the Syrian people,” implying a definite shift in U.S. foreign policy away from regime change in Syria.

Why would Assad put such assurances in jeopardy by launching a horrific chemical attack, allowing establishment news outlets like CNN to once against use children as props to push for yet another massive war in the Middle East?

The globalists oppose any raprochment with Russia. They resist American domination which is unforgivable.

However, I don't see them as forcing Trump's hand. He timidly advanced the notion that Assad would not be our target but instantly bought the lie that Assad used CW.

He had complete freedom to say wait till further study clarifies what happened but instantly was blubbering about "little babies." It's pathetic. He doesn't know what his hand is.

Ron, sorry about the Alzheimers. Terrible.

You're just right back in the mental hospital going.

He's just all upset that they are closing in on Obama and the demoturds. You never see him comment on anything positve. Probably a pedo, and scared Trump has been arresting then in droves since inauguration.

Hey, it takes Johnny "Chindit" English to show up and confirm Ron's statement. Bravo.

RP could've been bigger than Trump, but for some reason I want to say that he didn't give himself a chance.  He didn't engage his own movement, never mind people who were sympathetic to his goals if not his preferred policies, and seemed content to be right, counting on that to deliver him the presidency or even stir something bigger.

He had a killer platform: shifting the balance of power in this country towards state and local government (and in blue states as well as red states), severing the corrupt associations between legislators, regulators, and Big Business, showing the neocons the door, cutting the MIC down to size, and becoming a post-imperial country (much closer to what the Founding Fathers wanted), repudiation of identity politics and the culture wars ... and then in every situation, the first thing we try is freedom, and if and when freedom leads to more scumminess rather than less, then we do a quick, easy, and specific fix rather than a crusade.

I think the difficulty for ideological libertarians is the unwillingness to translate principles and slogans into a policy program that doesn't sound like an internet crank's wish list ... or just break out the paper shredder because there's no problem that can't be made worse by trying to fix it.'s picture

Unfortunately, both parties have accepted the thirty pieces of silver so often that

we-the-governed have redefined bribery as “contributions.

Strangely, none of this is restoring my faith in any of our intelligence services. I feel like I'm at that part in an acid trip where you think nothing is

I understand the rebels using chemical weapons and pretending it happened in an air strike - but why would the Syrians then bomb the hospital treating the patients - that cant have been the rebels

cheech_wizard's picture

Seriously? I suppose in war there is some sort of codified rules that we should all abide by until we don't.

Standard Disclaimer: If that hospital were housing munitions, (or, oh my God!, chemical weapons) I suppose you'd just say, well damn, someone put a red crescent on that building so we should just ignore whatever is going on inside that building, because it is clearly marked as a hospital.

Look, I can't do your thinking for you. I charge for that kind of work.

Mzhen's picture

How do we know that the bombing of the hospital happened as reported?  Are the White Helmets the source of that news?

Road Hazard's picture

So ISIS has a weapons grade, chemical manufacturing facility now.... wow. I mean, with government agencies spying on everyone 24x7, how did they not catch the phone calls/emails needed to build this facility in the middle of a war zone?!

Trump has attention span of a fruit fly, put it on one page (including pictures) or even better put it in a 140 character tweet. I am not even kidding, guy is a moron:

re fruit fly.

Ivana - Ivanka's mother - would agree.

cheech_wizard's picture

It's called bullet points.

John Chambers of Cisco used them all the time, but of course, in your line of thinking, that means his attention span is also that of a fruit fly?

Standard Disclaimer: Try to reserve practising stupidity in the privacy of your own home. There is enough of it in the world as it is.

Neochrome's picture

Riiiiight. Why bother with any issue in depth really when you can run the world from one page bullet points. With pictures. And graphs. On that one page. Because reading, thinking is hard. Let's play round of golf, that helps every issue. Ignorance is a bliss. Fucking retards.

Do the whole world a favor: kill yourself and take people around you with you. World doesn't need ignorant morons and intellectual midgets to pose as presidents, nor ZH commentators.

Progressives are still in charge. Does anyone see any real constitutional conservatives in the FEDGOV anywhere?

As long as progressives are in charge, there will be murder by government. Democide. They cannot stop themselves, they are tyranny and murder at their core.

True Constitutional conservatives would not be inteferring in other sovereign nations affairs.

To have a crime, you must first have a progressive.

Bemused Observer's picture

Desperate, aren't they?

I seriously doubt that Assad had anything to do with this. There is absolutely NO reason for him to even think about doing something like this. And the Russians, who are right there with him, are certainly not going to allow their guy to do anything so stupid. The problem is, TPTB aren't doing the 'work' anymore, they just make the accusations. They might have wanted to create a backstory, so that this event made some sense But everything has become so complex, so intertwined with everything else, I think TPTB are having trouble keeping everything straight. They likely didn't dare try for a larger narrative because they simply couldn't be sure they wouldn't forget something critical and be exposed. So, they keep it simple, and include as few 'facts' as possible.

They are hoping that phrases like "chemical weapons" and such will get the emotions stirred up, and everyone will forget all about those 'facts', and the fact that the official story has NO facts to back it up. Their narrative becomes more shrill, more improbable, as time goes by. They will get caught, hard, when they miscalculate and and are proven WRONG after a major 'incident'. Or perhaps even caught outright, on a little video clip that goes viral that removes ALL doubt.

I wonder what McCain would say if an indisputable video of identifiable US military personnel mucking about with identifiable WMD's, or engaged in any of the numerous "covert ops'" over there, should appear, start making the rounds? In case they forgot, those photos of the Iragi prisoners being abused took them by surprise too. There is a LOT they cannnot control, even right under their own noses, and among their own people. Who knows? Some disgruntled Marine with a cell phone camera, a rogue unit 'taking revenge', whatever...some horrid incident will occur, and be captured on video, and the McCains of the world will trip over their own tongues trying to fix that major fuck-up, and be confronted with their own, proveable lies.

What surprise me (maybe not really a surprise) is that Trump has gone over to the dark side by condemming Assad and giving more power to the extremist Chabad Lubavich faction through Jared Kushner.

& Liberal Neocon Spenders on Defense, MIC, foreign Bribes, State Dept influence...

Hillarys Server's picture

C.S. Lewis had a "trilemma" regarding Jesus, namely "liar, Lord or lunatic".

Trump, who I voted for, has ousted Bannon, surrounded himself with warmongers and has begun to quack like a neocon himself too, saying ridiculous things like Assad gassed children.

I therefore hereby put forth a "neocon Trump trilemma", namely that Trump is either a
1. bitch [puppet of the deep state, neocons, Israel lobby, war banks, military industrial complex and subcontractors]
2. bum [no morals], or
3. bozo [low IQ]

When love turns to disappointment the disappointment is very strong.

I still hate libtards with a passion. But you're starting to disappoint me President Trump.

Assad didn't gas his people. What do you take us for? Idiots?

headless blogger's picture

I voted for the pig too. My only conselation is I live in Washington, so at least I can tell myself my vote didn't count.

I never liked Trump, but I thought Hillary was worse, especially since all those Neo-con-zionists supported her openly. Now, we are getting exactly what HC was advocating for. Trump will end up being hated by ALL.

He acts like a fucking little boy with a big ego.

Notice how even people like Rush Limbaugh are staying away from the Syria story. Because any half wit knows what the Neo-cons are doing.

TheLastTrump's picture

People are witholding comment until more facts emerge.

You never supported Trump.

ThreeRs's picture

Trump did not oust Bannon. The MSM would sure like you to believe that though.

The MSM, the mouthpiece of the Globalists (and all their friends in both parties), sure wants you to believe that Trump's changed for the worse.

I reserve judgment at this point, because I think Trump's smarter than all of them put together.

Could be wrong. Time will certainly tell.

I wonder what the Susan Rice/Obama trail will lead to, and who.

TheLastTrump's picture

well that's a lie, so what about the rest of your spew? >>> "Trump, who I voted for, has ousted Bannon,"

Ron is right as usual. My guess is that they cut a deal behind the scenes. Syria will become a Sunni Turkish vassal in exchance for Iraq, which is now a Shia Iranian vassal.

taketheredpill's picture

Neo-Cons behind it and exploit it.  And EVERYBODY politician in US has to toe the line and condem Assad.

The Alternative is to say, "this was a False Flag" which is another way of saying "those Rebels we support are murderous psychopaths who will kill anybody, even children, to advance the establishment of a religious theocracy"

The "moderate Rebels" are absolute scum.  "We're going to drop poison gas on this town.  If the people in the town don't support this, they are opposed to God's will and must die.  If they do support it, they are soldiers who are willing to die in our fight.  Allah will praise them.  The men anyway".

Ron Paul, you are a genius.

And if Trump goes along with this nwo story, what does that make him?

marcusfenix's picture

It makes him a tool and a dangerous one at that.

Zepper's picture

I have been saying it for two days now... It makes absolutely no sense for Assad to use chemical weapons.

He just won a hard fought peace that is going to be established in his country and  Assad uses chemical weapons to get the U.S. back in its face... NO! HELL NO!

Like I said before special ops, Probably under McCain did this.

ThreeRs's picture

What if Trump's only following along with the narrative to see who in his camp is not Team USA?

There's more than one way to smoke out the traitors in your midst.

The Bannon story had the traitors drooling--look at the New York Slime's article today.

This is gonna be good, I tell ya.

Dear lord I hope that you are RIGHT!!!!!

It seems that there's one fact everyone agrees with, it was airplanes bombing that set off the Sarin.

The question seems to be, was the Sarin dropped from the planes or was it in the buildings being bombed that were controlled by ISIS?

Russia says ISIS Sarin, others say Syria. I don't personally buy that Syria would be stupid enough. I think Russia is likely right, but they didn't exactly act forthright when proof was requested.

More at eleven.

Shemp 4 Victory's picture

It seems that there's one fact everyone agrees with, it was airplanes bombing that set off the Sarin.

...except there was no sarin. We don't even know for sure that anyone there died as a result of chemical weapons. All we have are unsubstantiated claims from untrustworthy sources (SOHR and White Helmets).

Reaper's picture

Has Trump decided to reject intelligent supporters?

TheLastTrump's picture

Are you saying you're an example of one? Because I'm not seeing it, help me out.

Well now we know the Russia probe is going nowhere. They had to call in the CIA.

headless blogger's picture

Very sad that we voted in trash like Trump, yet this wonderful man was completely overlooked. I was happy, though, at the time, because my district went Ron Paul the last year he ran.

I am really with the camp, now, that said Trump is actually highly involved with the Elite. They put out the perception he was a "lone wolf" candidate, but that is obviously misleading at this point.

Gort's picture

Come on Prez, don't take the bait.  Stay the fuck out of this.

TheLastTrump's picture

How about we ALL reserve judgement until we get the facts.

Is that too much too ask?

Apparently so. Carry on with your preplanned Trump attacks. :)
