MIT Press To Publish "Communism for Kids" Book

Authored by Scott Whitlock via,

Talk about starting the indoctrination early. The Washington Free Beacon on Monday reported that MIT Press is publishing “Communism for Kids,” a book aimed at brainwashing three to seven-year-olds, on those “lovable little revolutionaries.”

A description on Amazon cheered,Once upon a time, people yearned to be free of the misery of capitalism. How could their dreams come true? This little book proposes a different kind of communism, one that is true to its ideals and free from authoritarianism.”

Free Beacon writer Elizabeth Harrington explained

Communism for Kids, written by a German author who specializes in political theory and "queer politics," was released last month. The thesis of the children's book is that communism is "not that hard," but has not been implemented in the right way.

Apparently, the book doesn’t focus on the 100 million people murdered under Communism.

In November of 2009, the Media Research Center released “Better Off Red,” documenting two decades of liberal journalists looking the other way at the evils of Communism.

Here are a few examples of liberal fawning over commies:

“Despite what many Americans think, most Soviets do not yearn for capitalism or Western-style democracy.”
— Anchor Dan Rather on the CBS Evening News, June 17, 1987.

“The reality is that even if the communist state were to protect individual rights aggressively, many of its people are not prepared to tolerate diversity.”
— Dan Rather on the May 27, 1988 CBS Evening News.

“East Germany is the Communist world’s vaunted economic success story, hailed as proof that hard work, discipline and thrift can translate Karl Marx’s theories into reality.”
New York Times reporter Ferdinand Protzman in the May 15, 1989 “Business Day” section.

“Communism got to be a terrible word here in the United States, but our attitude toward it may have been unfair. Communism got in with a bad crowd when it was young and never had a fair chance....The Communist ideas of creating a society in which everyone does his best for the good of everyone is appealing and fundamentally a more uplifting idea than capitalism. Communism’s only real weakness seems to be that it doesn’t work.”
60 Minutes commentator Andy Rooney in the New York Times, June 26, 1989.

“Like Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev before him, [Vladimir] Kryuchkov has taken the personal route, talking of his fondness for Bellini’s opera ‘Norma.’ He swoons over the piano mastery of Van Cliburn, and hints that he would arrange a Moscow apartment for the pianist if he would only come here more often. Then he sighs over his exhausting workday at Dzerzhinsky Square: ‘The KGB chairman’s life is no bed of roses.’”
— Reporter David Remnick in The Washington Post, September 8, 1989. Two years later, Kryuchkov was part of the hardline “Gang of Eight” that attempted to overthrow Gorbachev.

“Marx and Lenin are still revered heroes. Never mind that communism as they conceived it didn’t work. Most Soviets don’t want to dump it, just improve on it.”
USA Today founder Al Neuharth, February 9, 1990 column.

It seems Amazon's book reviewers disagree...

Will they talk about the 100 million + people that were killed to make Communism "work". It beat the holocaust by many times over. Sorry, forgot I couldn't state any facts that make the Holocaust not the worst event in human history. Some how I suspect that Federal Tax dollars were used to fund this.

We've just managed to secure the endorsement of 'Flip-Flop' Don himself - quoting:

I believe that these are a terrific addition for everyone's, you know, library, and, you know, there's more, so much more to come, and so, you should just go and buy it, because, you know, it's gonna be, like, YUGE, real, real YUGE. I love how every single communist book manfesto says how the other tries through history just weren't conducted correctly, which this one does as well.  "But this time we're going to do it RIGHT!" they always say.  Goddamn fucking communists get the fuck out.  Go to a communist country you fucks and see how much fun it is.  Donot bring that shit here.  We are far too long down that road already.

Frito's picture

Yep.  It's always "but that wasn't real communism. If I was in charge things would have been different. "

Yes it was, and no, if you were in charge it wouldn't have been different.

Fair bet none of these people have lived in a communist country.

Another one to note.  The Victorian (Australia) government is pushing to have pre school kids indoctrinated with radical gender theory. You can read about it here and sign the petition if you want:

"communism is "not that hard," but has not been implemented in the right way"

My specific, perfect, infallible version of communism has never been tried.

Communism as a system of government amazes me because despite failing spectacularly every time it has been tried, it still somehow captures the hearts and minds of those in academia - the only places with enough mind share to waste on thinking about making a dead end in political philosophy feasible.

adanata's picture

Communism, socialism and multicultrualism are all the same thing; collectivism. Collectivism has been the faithful tool of tyrants throughout history. Tell the snowflakes 'multiculturalism' means they get free shit and they are all for it. There was a photo of snowflakes flipping off the memorial to the millions who died under communism. Of course they have been told America is capitalistic. So they don't understand what any of this means... and that's probably gonna get 'em killed...

Neither of those two events you have presented are accurate.

The Bolsheviks (the Lenin revolution) and the holocost narrative both have something in common that few know and fewer dare openly speak of.

kochevnik's picture

Zionists media copied holodomor material for their Jewish holocaust.  "Six million" Ukrainians became six million Jews, with the holodomor unreported

NidStyles's picture

Don't forget them saying that the graves left by the Jewish ran NKVD were Jews that had supposedly been killed by the SS, and then pushed to have the mass graves declared a holy sight (where the term Holocaustianity came from) so no one could exume the bodies or do DNA testing.

Later the NKVD documents were revealed in a Ukrainian court of law, that were released by FSB officials under the advisement of Putin. The Jews have a real reason why they hate Russia. The bodies in those graves were Ethnic Ukrainians that refused to fight the Germans for the Jewish ran Soviets. They didn't want the truth to get out.

This place is called Babi Yar. To this day the Jews still say they were Jews killed by SS troops, and they supress the court documents proving otherwise. Just like the trial of Ernst Zundel...

BrownCoat's picture

Hayek's 'Road To Serfdom' is hard to read. It is very concise making it a slow read.

The cartoon book 'Road To Serfdom' does not provide the details discussed in the text.

Hayek has proved to be correct. In contrast, collectivism has been tried many times and has never worked in the long run. Good commies/socialists will say that communism (or socialism) was never implemented properly. Just like this book which is quoted in the article: "This little book proposes a different kind of communism, one that is true to its ideals and free from authoritarianism.”

Hayek says socialism requires force. It is impossible for socialism/communism to be 'free from authoritarianism' because that is how it works. Socialist will agree that force is required.

Review that made me laugh:

I know why you write to children.. Because all the adults already told you to put a gun in your mouth and kill yourself.. There is no worse animal than those who attempt to indoctrinate your children whose minds are not developed enough to see what a disgusting coward you are... Communists know no humanity.. And thus, no humanity will ever be shown to a communist.

Raging Debate's picture

Park Ave Yep. Communism nearly always follows Fascism. Different names for these cycles in history, always same miserable result.

NidStyles's picture

Nonsense. Fascism didn't come back into vogue until after the attempt by the Jews in 1848 to take over Germany and install communism. Then the rise of Bolshevism in 1918 gave fruit to the Fascist of Italy. It wasn't until the Communists seized power in most of Germany in the late 1920's that the Fascists were allowed by their countrymen to take over. They didn't take over with force, they took over because the people asked them too, and Hindenburg ablidged to prevent a communist from becoming Chancellor.

Fascism is truly European. It's the governmental system that fought off the Persians, Saracens and Moors. Here we are again with Jews and Muslims/Arabs pulling the same shit again, and this time they are back with trolls such as yourselves conflating the issue.

The first step for a communist in any system they want to seize is to spread lies about that system's history, and then to defame that systems natural defenses. Fascism is the European natural defense against invasion and subjugation.

This is why Communies and Jews hate Fascists. Not because they were persecuted, but because we deny them the ability to seize power.

For those who want to know more, below is an excellent source. By the way, take special notice of the date! This demonic ideology has been with us for about 170 years.

Manifesto of the Communist Party

by Karl Marx and Frederick Engels

February 1848

Below is what the students can look forward to learning. AMERICA may already be heading down this path!!

1. Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes.

2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.

3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.

4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.

5. Centralisation of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.

6. Centralisation of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the State.

7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State; the bringing into cultivation of waste-lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.

8. Equal liability of all to work. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.

9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of all the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the populace over the country.

10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children’s factory labour in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc.
