US Deploys Two More Aircraft Carriers Toward Korean Peninsula: Yonhap

Tyler Durden's picture

According to a report by South Korea's primary news outlet, Yonhap, the Pentagon has directed a total of three US aircraft carriers toward the Korean Peninsula, citing a South Korean government source.

Yonhap reports that in addition to the CVN-70 Carl Vinson, which is expected to arrive off the South Korean coast on April 25, the CVN-76 Ronald Reagan - currently in home port in Yokosuka, Japan - and the CVN-68 Nimitz carrier group - currently undergoing final pre-deployment assessment, Composite Training Unit Exercise off Oregon - will enter the Sea of Japan next week.  According to the senior government official. the US and South Korea are discussing joint drills, which will include the three aircraft carriers and other ships.

CVN-68 Nimitz carrier group

USS Carl Vinson, surrounded by a fleet of US warships, was sent by Washington toward the Korean Peninsula in the beginning of April.

While details are scarce, and we would urge confirmation from US-based sources, Yonhap also reports that according to the government source the operation of three aircraft carriers in the same location is unusual, and demonstrates the US commitment to North Korea.  Other sources said the Trump administration is demonstrating deterrence by acting on its behalf. "We expect it to be completely different from the previous administration."

On Sunday, Pyongyang launched an unidentified projectile, but the test reportedly failed. South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) stated that the attempted launch was conducted from the area near North Korea's eastern port city of Sinpo, but likely ended in a failure.

The most recent map showing key US naval deployments around the globe is shown below.

The modern US empire is the successor empire of the 19th-century British empire. It has taken an American & overt Zionist flavor, but it is essentially the same empire. Frankly this is elementary knowledge everywhere but in the US and its direct colonies.

> Where's our colonies?

Not sure if this is sarcasm. Look at the dollar diplomacy, look at countries that don't align with the "Washington consensus", look at US troops present in countries that lost WW2, etc.

However bad things are in NK that doesn't justify imperialistic ambitions, however invented or accurate are the pretexts to do so.

More along the lines of a changing of the guar, that a succession, but who knows ?

You are a shit debater- stick to the issues at hand and don't revert to petty ad hominem attacks- it's a surefire way to automatically lose a debate.

Also, your affinity for the USA is clouding your judgment.
It might be helpful for you to picture North Korea as somewhat like a North Vietnam that was never resolved. Start from there and try and keep an open mind about the background of imperial interventions in East Asia since the 19th century. You have the potential to learn much here.

America was a great idea that died a long time ago with the dead-letter Constitution.

Rah! Rah Warning! Exceptional American at work! Last time you lot had a go, the result was this:

Total civilians killed/wounded: 2.5 million (est.)[17]South Korea: 990,968373,599 killed[17]229,625 wounded[17]387,744 abducted/missing[17]North Korea: 1,550,000 (est.)[17]

Hopeful you can do better than two and a half motion this time? Obviously, they will have died for democracy, so they should be super grateful.

I'm searching for a word that describes you, and I think "twat" is what I'm looking for.

lucitanian's picture

Let's take your comment piece by piece.

Dude, are you fucking retarded?

No he's not, however you are a myopic idiot!

Why have those countries had US bases for the past 50 years harboring US aggressive forces used for spreading US hegemonic power. And the US has been threatening N. K. Ever since they flattened the country in the 50's which is exactly why the authoritarian dynasty could keep power and using the US threat as the overriding necessity of the country to depend on military force. Just like the US pretends that 9-11 was an attack by Al Qaeda and now you live in a country with a suspended constitution with zero rights. A country in which ignorant assholes like you can be made to see that any self determination of foreign states disagreeing with the power behind the hidden government of the US running its petrodollar empire is a threat.

What about the people in North Korea that ARE STARVING TO DEATH??? Entire families that are sent to the GULAG TO DIE???

Ya, Raining bombs down on them, killing and maiming them would be better. Like the US is doing in Syria and did in Yugoslavia, Iraq and Libya etc... All illegally based on bullshit you are told by the PTB. Not that different from N.K..

Guess those people don't count because "its never trump" right???

No, they do count as humans, but I'm sure your "Great Leader" doesn't give a shit about those babies, while he's playing golf in Florida.

Selfish piece of shit bastard... I bet you steal from your mom too right???

Sometimes it is worth looking into a mirror, and a little deeper to realizing that people can have a different view, understand where they are coming from, study a little history, and work with the difference without the need to dominate, destroy or even disrespect.

Maybe its time to grow up.

Dude, are you fucking retarded?

See below...

No, actually he is testing military weapons, somethng all countries do.

And so...he's a bad man.  Just like Milosovic, Saddam, Gadaffi, and now Assad all became so bad that the "non empire" needed to humanitarilly bomb their country into oblivion. Odd, were they that much more bad than Pol Pot and Idi Amin?

What constitutes "colonial control" - poltical alignment or control of the money supply and the power to militarilly dispose the government at will?

Selfish piece of shit bastard... I bet you steal from your mom too right???

Woah, great "argument".  You got me there.

El Pibe's picture

What a load of bullshit!

The only country that actually nuked Japan is the USA!

NK did not devastate dozens of countries and murdered millions of innocent in the last decades. You seem to enjoy this murdering, you "USA USA USA" fool.

"Wheres our colonies then dipshit" How about Mexico,Canada,UK,Mainland Europe,Scandinavia,Eastern block countries,Afghanistan,Iraq,Turkey,S/A,Libya,S/K,Japan,Australia, and more. How about that, dipshit?

Akzed's picture

Selfish? All NK's combined do not equal the value of one of my sons. If that makes me selfish then cry me a river.

What a mess_man's picture

While I don't necessarily disagree with your premise, this guys is a loose cannon with nuclear weapons (which keep getting better with more range) who constantly threatens to nuke us.  No need for all out war here, let's just 'dissemble' his launch pads. Tomohawks away!

TheReplacement's picture

Be fair. Too phat Kim has used fewer nukes in anger than Big Bad Uncle Sam - the very same that is suggesting the US will go to war to stop Kim from using nukes.

Irony, it's not just for breakfast anymore.

NiggaPleeze's picture

One of the few things Bill Clinton did right while in office was to enter into an agreement with N. Korea to dismantle its nuclear program in exchange for assurances of non-interference.

The Shrub promptly reneged on that agreement.  He named North Korea as part of the "Axis of Evil" that needed to be destroyed.  Iraq was also on that list.  N. Korea saw what happened to that country.  So they re-started their nuclear program.

N. Korea has every right in the world to defend itself against US aggression.  That is the basis of international law as well as the UN Charter.  There is no law that prevents N. Korea from owning nuclear weapons.  It is the "Western" powers that own the vast bulk of them, who have used them, and who have repeatedly threatened to use them, including against N. Korea during the Korean War.

"Tomahawks away" - there are about 20 million people living within range of N. Korea's artillery, which could destroy Seoul in a matter of hours, not to mention the damage they could inflict on the US.  N. Korea can defend itself against the Empire's attack.

Give peace a chance.  Why doesn't  Trump offer to sign a peace treaty with N. Korea and to pledge non-intereference in exchange for N. Korea giving up it's nuclear weapons?  Why, that would be a real statesman's move.  But it doesn't fit in with the Global Empire doctrine, since a non-interference pledge would mean N. Korea would not be a US vassal state.  That can't be.  So war it is!  The Empire of Death and Destruction marches on!

Lorca's Novena's picture

The psycho fat boy constantly threatens our allies....  what do you think the US should do?

And for the record, its not the people of the US anyways, its the (((agenda))) / mic

fockewulf190's picture

Hopefully Xi invites Kim over to Beijing for "consultations between allies" and the guy just dies in an unfortunate plane crash.

Watch Diego Garcia. If you start seeing the pre-positioned transport ships packed with war fighting equipment take to the high seas, war is not far away.

NiggaPleeze's picture

what do you think the US should do?

I already mentioned in another post what I think the US should do:  sign a peace treaty with N. Korea with a pledge of non-interference (by the US or its vassals, including Japan and S. Korea) in exchange for the dismantling of N. Korea's nuclear program.

On the other hand, N. Korea at this point may not accept any pledge from the hyper-treacherous USA, which repeatedly threatens non-threatening countries to disarm, and when they do, promptly goes in for the kill.   See Israel Shamir's very poignant article at

Peaseful co-existence is not the Empire's way.  It's the Empire's way or death and destruction.  We are the Empire. You will be assimilated. Your biological and technological distinctiveness will be added to our own. Resistance is futile.

El Pibe's picture

You mean you want to murder millions, including your allies which you are lying about you want to "protect", with the excuse that anyone could somewhen cause any harm to them?

Then have your  fun, sicko. How does it feel to justify war crimes and genocide?

Sadly the war continues...

You would think that global threat from the "communists" would be passe.  The alignment we could natrually have with the few remaining communist countries would be anti islamic terrorism.

Agree, it has gone to far and negotiations are fruitless.

"Who cares if north korea gets flattened as long as china and russia let us play without pissing in our sandbox..."

It Asia dumbass.  It's kinda their sandbox.  And US involvement there doesn't have a great track record...

AVmaster's picture

OH and they also want to nuke japan and south korea too... BUT THATS STILL BETTER THAN THE US... RIGHT???

ne-tiger's picture

I haven't heard NK invaded any countries in last 30 years, you dumbass

effendi's picture

NK regularly sends snatch squads to other countries to kidnap people (especially Japanese civilians). I think that counts as a form of invasion. Or they just commit murder (like in Malaysia recently).

Anyone who publicly supports unconstitutional wars should be forced into military service to fight those wars, regardless of age sex religion or gender identity.

On that I fully agree, let congress vote and declare war. This way they have the responsibility for it. Every 4 years we elect a new scapegoat into office. CONGRESS HOLDS THE POWER.

JRobby's picture

 At Hiroshima all was lost.

Bay Area Guy's picture

Congress is useless. They've abdicated so much of their constitutional responsibilities, it isn't funny. They let Obama bomb whoever he wanted and now they're allowing Trump to do the same. They never passed TPP.....they simply didn't not pass it. They haven't passed a budget since I don't know when. And you think Congress is going to do fuck-all now? They will do what they always the issue. Congress is full of cowards.

froze25's picture

I expect the RINOs and their Dem buddys to do nothing but I want people to understand that it is them (congress) that need to be held to account and know what you know about their abdication of powers and dereliction of duty.

Socratic Dog's picture

I seem to recall a US SoS stating clearly that 500,000 Iraqi children starving to death was "worth it".

You are one hypocritical motherfucker, AV.

Don't be so hard on these guys man. Most are worn out from fighting with Trump supporters over the weekend at Berkley. And based on their continuous bash Trunp/America commentary , they are also aligned with and obvious followers of Maxine Waters . So now that you what you are dealing with , chill

El Pibe's picture

Yes, exactly, you got it! They are total assholes but they are still have far less blood on their hands as you do.

Remember when you killed millions of Koreans just a couple of years ago? Did you like it? And now you argue, you are their "savior" by starting a war over there ... one can't get more insane and perverted.

JRobby's picture

You can see the madness (calling it McCainia!) in the comments sections world wide.

Mankind is doomed to incinerate itself as we have been warned since 1945. The sad thing is, most innocent people are sane. World "leaders" are insane.

cougar_w's picture

I was okay up to the point you mentioned that most innocent people are sane.

1) There are no "innocent people". Not in a representative democracy, there aren't. You voted for it, you paid the taxes for it, you swallowed the media propaganda justifying it, and now you own it. If by "innocent" you mean people living outside the West being bombed back into the Stone Age, then yeah maybe they have a claim to innocence because they had no say. Still not sure. Lot's of culpability to go around.

2) And, most people with Western-style values are not sane. They are driven by abstract notions of wealth, truth and destiny that do not comport with reality, not even a little. They might comport with what someone wants us all to think in order to profit from it, so yeah there is a reason for it, but it's not any more real just because someone has a reason for it. And when you act as if you see things that are not there, and pattern your life and behavior based on illusions whatever the source, then sorry but you are insane.

lucitanian's picture

Are the N.K. people any less insane for believing what their system tells them?

JRobby's picture

Our guilt,our blame ,
I've been far too sympathetic.
Our blood, our fault.
I've been far too sympathetic.

I am not innocent.
You are not innocent.
No one is innocent.

Just because I get tired of people rooting for mob rule.

We don't have to bomb NK. Sheesh, just keep goading them into testing more missiles. They will do the job themselves.

Instead we will risk SK being levelled with artillery that works.

The USA wants war.  The USA needs war to expand the debt, and fast.

It's for the dollar. Always for the dollar. (FRN actually)

The Cheesepopes are gonna get their war to keep their racket going.

Why the fuck is the US afraid of NK?

Not part of global banking fraud?

Population is starving in the land of Kim Jong Fatso so they must be nuked?
