They Have No Proof: MIT Professor Explains Why The Assad Gas Attack Was A Sham

Tyler Durden's picture

Authored by Daniel Lang via SHTFplan.com,

The mainstream narrative surrounding the sarin gas attack in Syria simply doesn’t add up. Even if you assume that Assad is nothing but a vile monster who would have no problem with gassing his own people, the attack still doesn’t make sense. That’s because even monsters have a sense of self-preservation.

Just days before the attack, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson announced a reversal of a longstanding policy in Washington. He said that the US was no longer absolutely determined to oust Assad. America’s six year war against his regime was basically over. So why would Assad reignite a conflict with the world’s preeminent superpower with a chemical weapons attack? A conflict that I might add, would greatly reduce the chances of him remaining in power?

Assad is by no means a good guy. He’s not even an okay guy. He is definitely a despot who relies on violence to suppress the population. But he’s never shown any signs of being suicidal. Six years of fighting to maintain his rule proves that. What’s much more likely is that Assad is being set up.

Don’t believe our government’s claims about satellite photography catching Assad’s aircraft dropping the sarin. In fact, the little evidence that has been provided falls on its face once you take a closer look. That’s the determination of Theodore Postol, a physicist and professor at MIT, who reviewed documents released by the White House regarding the gas attack.

Postol said: “I have reviewed the [White House’s] document carefully, and I believe it can be shown, without doubt, that the document does not provide any evidence whatsoever that the US government has concrete knowledge that the government of Syria was the source of the chemical attack in Khan Sheikhoun, Syria at roughly 6am to 7am on 4 April, 2017.

In fact, a main piece of evidence that is cited in the document point to an attack that was executed by individuals on the ground, not from an aircraft, on the morning of 4 April.

That evidence is a photograph of the shell that delivered the sarin gas, which according Postol, shows signs of having explosives set on top of it before being detonated on the ground.

That sounds a lot more like the work of the rebels, not the Syrian government.

“The explosive acted on the pipe as a blunt crushing mallet,” Postol said. “It drove the pipe into the ground while at the same time creating the crater.

“Since the pipe was filled with sarin, which is an incompressible fluid, as the pipe was flattened, the sarin acted on the walls and ends of the pipe causing a crack along the length of the pipe and also the failure of the cap on the back end.”

Keep in mind that Postol is an expert in this field. He’s been advising our government on weapon technologies since the Gulf War. He’s not some armchair scientist. More importantly, after working with our government for so many years, he’s all too familiar with how unreliable intelligence reports from the White House can be.

All of these highly amateurish mistakes indicate that this White House report, like the earlier Obama White House Report [from Ghouta in 2013], was not properly vetted by the intelligence community as claimed.

“I have worked with the intelligence community in the past, and I have grave concerns about the politicisation of intelligence that seems to be occurring with more frequency in recent times – but I know that the intelligence community has highly capable analysts in it.

“And if those analysts were properly consulted about the claims in the White House document they would have not approved the document going forward.”

Once again, our country has made an attack against a sovereign nation without any justification.

As Liberty Blitzkrieg's Mike Krieger so eloquently concludes:

Pretty much every official statement emanating from the U.S. government these days is a deception, fabrication, or outright lie. I understand that this is a hard thing for a U.S. citizen to admit, but as James Baldwin so accurately stated: “Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”

So let’s go ahead and face the facts. Governments lie. Governments have always lied. Extremely corrupt, imperial governments overseeing societies in deep economic and cultural decline lie even more. This isn’t conspiracy theory, it’s what obviously happens when you combine tremendous power with human nature.

...

The U.S. government is completely rogue and determined to drive the U.S. into an unwinable war based on false pretenses, which doesn’t serve the national interest. These lunatics must be stopped.

There is no way he did this...Why would he want the entire world to look at him as a murderous scumbag...something is not right...and I think Trump fell for it....and then to see the McCain types jumping up and down when we bomb them continues to back my assertion.

Assad is by no means a good guy. He’s not even an okay guy. He is definitely a despot who relies on violence to suppress the population.

Bullshit. He was, and remains, a popular leader. The whole brutal despot story is a crafted falsehood, repeated ad nauseam to the point that even this author has fallen for it.

What’s much more likely is that Assad is being set up.

Well of course he is. It's been in the works for years.

Assad is a secular leader who protected Syrian religious minorities, in a region where religious tolerance is pretty low.  What a terrible guy...

We're by far the evilest empire around...

Mr. Universe's picture

Yes we are.

The reason for the carefully crafted destruction of Assad's charater serves a real purpose. That is because even if the citizens here think that it was a sham, or even that we are using Isis to topple Assad, it's all forgiven, because he was a bad guy anyways. Bullshit.

Where in the f#ck does this guy live?  Disneyland?  OK, now that makes sense.

The thing is, you could say that this was mostly true of the past several presidents here in the land of the free.

The skull and crossbones was a nice touch. That's all the CIA needed to conclude it was a sarin attack by Assad.

Mentaliusanything's picture

Skull and cross Bones you say... same as it always was.. The secret society loves the little children and is a reminder of Iraq,  the death of Sadam, Libya and the death of Muammar Gaddafi and some time soon when Bashar al-Assad is tragically killed and a vacuum causes another loss of life they will go for Iran.

"Assad is by no means a good guy..."

This is a nod to his yid censors that he is still on the blue pill.  He must repeat the narrative, I am just surprised he didn't start blathering on about protecting our freedoms from muslim terrorists with box cutters like on 911.

Perhaps your big nation/empire has a very "small" parasitic but near lethal "tick" poisoning you're whole nation and therefore the world....this particular "tick" is an absolute and insidious odious pernicious volatile idealogical fascist problem that will fight against and subvert its host and it would rather see its host die and be destroyed before its' parasitic self can be confronted and even then it will refuse which it has done over millenia to later resurface and rise again....this long cycle of its existence needs to end, but hopefully this time it may be permanent...

Trump is too smart not to know it was all a lie. Lolita Island must have caught up to him.

And oh, the MSM will never publish any voice of reason.

Mr. Universe's picture

Hard to tell the real truth, it could be he is protecting a family member. What you can count on though is Pedogate is dead and buried as only the deep state can bury it.

beemasters's picture

For humanity's sake, the only way to protect the family, if he was scared, was to resign; not to start wars. Besides, all he needed was a Tweet, and the people would have been behind him to protect his family. Let's face it, Trump is obviously only for Trump and Trump's. He has been owned from the start and liking it.

Ms No's picture

"Besides, all he needed was a Tweet, and the people would have been behind him to protect his family."

+1

He has access to address the people at any time and has declined to do so.  Now we know how he got past the proprietary election system.  He didn't. That is all JFK needed to do too.  Once the people are told what is going on we are halfway out of this.  Of course Trump will not be doing so.

bigkahuna's picture

He should have brought it to the people. Now it is difficult not to conclude that the deep state has something really nasty on him. Even if so - he should have brought it to us anyway. For goodness sake, we have been desensitized to moral debauchery - it is fucking everywhere!

He can still come clean and bear the burden of his transgressions if he gets on track. I believe he would survive, but he will have to take down all of the .gov shams including 911 and the feral singularity in order to make it happen. It would be the reset that is required to bring this country and probably the world back from tyranny - at least for a while.

lol - one must reserve space for hope.

veritas semper vinces's picture

Tell that to the 14 Syrians killed(9 civilians and 4 children). How would you feel if somebody bombed your child based on a false flag?

tmosley's picture

Document them. All I have heard on that subject is specious claims.

And what were all these civilians and children doing in the middle of an air field in the middle of the night? Doesn't pass the smell test. Tomahawks don't miss by more than 5 meters. If they went elsewhere, then they were likely targeted at ISIS.

I live in the LA area and there are quite a few Syrian owned liquor stores and gas stations in my neighborhood. Of the owners I have talked to about Assad, which is a total of 4, they have all said that the Syrian people think he is a great leader. I will trust the word of actual Syrian people over our state sponsored propaganda media outlets any fucking day of the week.

If the leader of any country is a true butchering despot it would show up in murder and incarceration rates. I looked up some stats after the start of the  "festivities" in Egypt, Libya, and Syria. Before those Obama parties started murder rates were comperable to the US which is quite low even with a certain race of people killing themselves with regularity. In Egypt and Syria the incarceration rates were well under a hundred per hundred thousand people. Libya was around 200 but that is skewed a little because Libya has a small population and was an active partner with the US in throwing terror suspects in jail with some supplied by the US. Compare that to the US, the incarceration leader on the planet, at around 800 per 100 thousand population. Assad is also quite popular in Syria and those demonstrations that the US claims Assad over reacted too, which were complete lies, causing the "civil war" were small affairs protesting things like corruption and minor stuff but not against Assad. It was imported jihadists that hijacked some of those affairs and killed unarmed police and unarmed soldiers and unarmed civilians. When the demonstrations started Assad didn't want any violence so his soldiers and police went about their business unarmed which ended with many hundreds of them being massacred by the insurgents.

The murder capitals of the world at the moment are Honduras and Venezuela. In 2009 the elected government in Honduras was overthrown and most of the countries on the planet and the UN demanded that government be put back in. Not a peep out of Hillary or Obama. In her emails Hillary hoped they could arrange new elections which never happened and the butchers are still in charge. Screams the CIA did it. In Venezuela the US had been trying to unseat Chavez since he was elected, especially because he was chummy with Cuba, and backed at least 1 coup attempt. Now they are suffering due to Chavez mismanagment and low oil prices so to totally ruin the country Obama put huge sanctions on them calling them a "danger to US security." The upshot is not only the murders but most of those unaccompanied kids flooding our border are from these countries. The US put even more sanctions on Venezuela recently.

I don't know if socialism works or not but why does the US attack or try to overthrow every country that elects a socialist government, especially south of it's border. Yet we get all the armchair experts that point to Venezuela and use that as an example of failed socialism while ignoring the devastating effects of the US trying to destroy their economy and their country. In Chile Allende ran many times for president in the 60's and was defeated by CIA money. He finally won in the early 70's and the CIA threw him over which ushered in a brutal 25 year military dicatatorship. The US created Al Qaeda to overthrow the elected socialist government of Afghanistan. How's that worked out in the last 28 years.

not dead yet's picture

Syria also had some unrest caused by complying to IMF dictats for the loans Syria received from them. As in Egypt, and a cause for the Arab Spring there, the government stopped subisidies for food and fuel and sold off government owned industries to cronies. With a drought in progress and the farmers in deep doodoo without the subsidies they were protesting. Doughts happen all the time in this part of the world but the climate change crowd claimed the whole Syrian fiasco was due to climate change. They call those flooding Europe climate change refugees. Yet these idiots wonder why few pople believe their propaganda.

At the height of the drought, around 2008 or 9, Assad asked the world for food assistance. The great humanitarian country that does not want to see anyone suffer, the US, ignored the plea and sent nothing. Sanctions are never to be levied on food and medicine yet the way current sanctions on Syria are written it could also include some food and medicines so aid groups are hesitant to send those things and incur the fines and wrath of the US.

fleur de lis's picture

Agreed.

The stupid media repeats anything told to them by DC without any verification.

They know nothing of history let alone science.

They went on a tear about sarin like a dog after a squirrel without noticing that authorized responders would have looked and acted differently than the ISIS actors.

They call Assad a despot without ever having set foot in Damascus and interviewing the local population.

No wonder the CIA is so supportive of media.

They don't have to worry about any reporters or analysts doing any research.

Many supposed journalist are on CIA payroll and have been for a very long time. Nothing new at all and well documented

goober's picture

No where near that simplistic, and yes governments lie, bigly ! Assad is a criminal and there was plenty of dissention in Syria prior to the arab spring that BHO and crew created. In the ME it is always based on religious sects and their differences mostly within the various Muslim enclaves. No different at all in Syria and then USA and Russia both got involved once ISIS got all of our weapons in Iraq because BHO allowed them to. So it is a very complex thing and not any where near as simplistic as some seem to think. Nearly all of what we see has been created and tweeked by some politico for their own purposes. Buit that is true of every major event we see before us. The illusions are many to be sure.

The graphics show the consequences of the alleged chemical attack in Khan Sheikhoun. According to Muazz al-Shami, sarin gas was used in the attack."

"Yesterday, (April 4) from 11:30 am to 12:30 p.m. local time, Syrian aviation made a strike on a large terrorist ammunition depot and a concentration of military hardware in the eastern outskirts of Khan Sheikhoun town," Russian defense ministry spokesman Igor Konoshenkov said in a statement posted on YouTube."

http://www.iraqinews.com/arab-world-news/russia-says-syria-gas-incident-caused-rebels-chemical-arsenal/

* The video footage shows clearly that the sun is high in the sky - it could not have been filmed that day, in time to get the film to Al Jazeera before 8am. So whether or not the Russian defense ministry spokesman Igor Konoshenkov has the time of the SAA attack correct is not particularly important. We know he has the day right.

My guess is the film was faked no later than the previous day - another White Helmets Oscar winning performance like:
