FBI Admits It Was Not The Russians - Launches Manhunt For "Insider" Who Leaked CIA Docs To WikiLeaks

Tyler Durden's picture

Having exclaimed that WikiLeaks is "a non-state hostile intelligence service often abetted by state actors like Russia," laying the blame for every embarrassing leak at Moscow's footsteps, the FBI and CIA have admitted that they are searching for an "insider" (not a Russian) who exposed thousands of top-secret documents that described CIA tools used to penetrate smartphones, smart televisions and computer systems.

As CBS News reports,  a manhunt is underway for a traitor inside the Central Intelligence Agency.

Sources familiar with the investigation say it is looking for an insider -- either a CIA employee or contractor -- who had physical access to the material. The agency has not said publicly when the material was taken or how it was stolen.

Much of the material was classified and stored in a highly secure section of the intelligence agency, but sources say hundreds of people would have had access to the material. Investigators are going through those names.

The trove was published in March by the anti-secrecy organization WikiLeaks.

In his first public comments as director of the CIA just last week, Mike Pompeo railed against WikiLeaks and its founder Julian Assange.

“It is time to call out WikiLeaks for what it really is: A non-state hostile intelligence service often abetted by state actors like Russia,” he said.

WikiLeaks has said it obtained the CIA information from former contractors who worked for U.S. intelligence. The CIA has not commented on the authenticity of the WikiLeaks disclosures or on the status of the investigation.

It seems once again that WikiLeaks' facts were 'facts' and CIA/FBI 'facts' were 'fake'.

The CIA doesn't have to find the leaker, then can create him.  The tools they have (if Wiki is in fact true) allow them to choose a target, then plant whatever evidence they need on their computer.

What the CIA has in fact done is brought reasonable doubt to anything in the computer world. No longer can you blindy accept that evidence on a suspect's computer is in fact the work of the suspect.  It could have been the CIA planting that evidence.

I for one will NEVER vote to convict anyone of a computer crime if I am on a jury.

So do they also plan on reigning in the CIA for doing the NSA's job? And maybe implementing a tracking ability so we can see what agents are looking at what material to hold them accountable. That ability isn't currently part of their systems now. NO LOGS KEPT!!!

Whatever happened to the whole Nunes/Cuck Schiff investigation thingy into the pesky Russkies and their nefarious spying?

Not a peep about that lately after Cuck Schiff got his eyes on the paperwork, hmm.

... >>> "FBI Admits It Was Not The Russians - Launches Manhunt For "Insider" Who Leaked CIA Docs To WikiLeaks" ...

... the FBI might not have to look very far for this "Insider" ... unless they would "look" with all eyes closed ...

... because they could start in their own backyard here >>> DSAC and its member corporations >>>

Domestic Security Alliance Council or DSAC >>> https://www.dsac.gov/  ... (nota bene: the website logo)

or their "sales brochure" here >>> https://web.archive.org/web/20130214124959/http:/www.dsac.gov/Pages/DSAC_Brochure.pdf

... This “sales brochure” bragged of offering member corporations:

“Centralized access to security information not only from the FBI, but from all federal government entities, including the Department of Homeland Security, FEMA, the IRS, U.S. Coast Guard, and the U.S. Secret Service . . . .”

To repeat: DSAC corporations were being given “centralized access” to “security information not only from the FBI, but from all federal government entities.

... the DSAC member corporations are: 3M, American Express, Bank of America, Barclays (Note: this is a British multinational banking company headquartered in London.), Boeing, Bristol-Myers Squibb, CIGNA, Citigroup, Coca-Cola, ConocoPhillips, Ernst & Young, FedEx, DuPont, General Electric, KPMG International, Mastercard, Merck & Co, NextEra Energy, Time Warner, Walmart.  There could be others too.

...  and if you notice the "FBI logo" on the DSAC website ... you might understand why Comey Chameleon (former: General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Lockheed Martin; General Counsel at Bridgewater Associates; Senior Research Scholar and a Hertog Fellow on National Security Law at Columbia Law School; Board of Directors of HSBC Holdings) would dance around Trey Gowdy's pointed questions repeatedly.

Comey is merely carrying on the proud traditions of the Hoovered FBI. The benefactors are the same. How does a weasel attorney become the the FBI Director and who might we imagine benefits? Eliot Ness must be throwing back a double shot of Canadian whiskey somewhere!

I hate to break it to anyone that thinks there is any form of hope that "good people" or "white hats" within the government or anyone else for that matter is going to bring down the criminal evil that has taken over the United States government with international networks.

There are ENORMOUS, UNBELIEVABLE, crimes being committed in the open for all to see and they get away with it every fucking time, buried, brushed aside, covered up, and false flagged away. Distractions.

The crimes that whistle-blowers have exposed alone should have shut the government down with sweeping investigations to eradicate the cancer but nope, everyone just accepts the corruption, business as usual.

Too many people asleep, weighed down, and just don't care enough to see past the little hill they live on, this will just get worse with no end in sight to the madness on planet Earth.

Doom on.

These are just a few highlights from the last couple years, the list goes on and on:

Obama, Brennan, Susan Rice, miss appropriating intelligence resources, criminal activities?

Obama, Holder, McCain, Grahm, ISIS, Benghazi, arms dealing, pallets of cash to Iran?

Clapper and Clinton perjury?

NSA, CIA, FBI, Wikileaks, abuse of power, rouge CIA within CIA hacking, Deep State?

Comey built a fake case and testified before committee about fake Russian evidence?

Comey covering for Hillary, sabotaging investigations and evidence?

Clinton guilty of several crimes with evidence but no charges, espionage, treason, selling state secrets, uranium deals?

Clinton Foundation, Haiti, kidnapping children?

Criminal pedophiles running wild in Washington, pedogate, pizzagate?

Trey Gowdy all bark, no bite.

Chaffetz quitting and ducking out after talk with family?

Trump flip flopping everyday now and the Kushners/Soros kids the real players behind the scenes?

Were fucked.

Not the Russians!!!???

No, no, no, uh um, no. You better fact check that statement Sir. After weeks of the good people at MSM telling it was the Russians, they couldn't be lying to me. No Sir, no.

That's right.  Just like the half of the US population that believes we attacked Iraq because they were behind 9-11 and were planning to use the "WMD's" we found there.

Exactly.  It is their "Traitor inside the CIA" who is truly the Patriot, while the CIA leadership is made up of criminals and Traitors.

In as much as the US has created Al Qaeda until ISIS to pit two ends to the middle, it is difficult to imagin that the CIA/NSA/FBI/ alfebate soup of so called security/intelegence with a budget that cannot be defined.... has not done likewise to enhanse their power and perpetuate their anti-democratic existance.

Kennedy quote on secrecy of the state : The very word 'secrecy' is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths, and to secret proceedings.

Right... well, he should've told that to Masonry, considering the US is masonic through and through. So if you think that phrase had anything to do with his assassination, you need to look no further.

lucitanian's picture

Cummon, all the Masons do is find silly people who wear funny aprons, torn shirts, and have funny handshakes and then work together for the power of their lodge. Why in hell cannot a whole nation find shared values and solidarity without being divided by them or any other bunch of Fascist ritualistic evil freaks?

Could it be because secretly, that "for-the-lulz fraternity" is in fact a mysanthropic, power-hungry, cronistic cult, that works from within establishement against the public interest?

Re "What the CIA has in fact done is brought reasonable doubt to anything in the computer world." :

And so we are back where we started.  In the beginning we could not trust anything on the computers but the smart people had a chance.  They could monitor their modems, read all their software and memory, disable unhelpful interrupts and a smart guy really could have 100% control of his computer.  But 99% of the population did not know how to do that and did not care, so those guys were never in a position to control their computers.  Then the computer industry became more secretive.  The information is still out there for those who know how or where to look, but few will find it.  There will always be some who know because they need to do stuff.
Then encryption became big.  Apparently everything was secure becoz encryption.  Again, if you can't read the code then you can not prove it is secure.  Sure, the average yob doesn't know how to hack this stuff but that doesn't mean it can't be done.

And now we are back to the stage where computer evidence really can not stand up in a court of law.  Makes me wonder if these revelations came out to protect the PizzaGaters?  ("Not mine!  Someone who hates me put it there.")  Oh well, back to looking for physical evidence.

You are most likely right on this. Most people, myself included jumped for joy when the CIA docs were released. Now we may find out this helped the World Whore and the rest of the pedophiles escape justice. Maybe we should all go out, get armed up, and just go to exterminating them.

Everyone in the department from where they think the leak originated will get snuffed.  A bus accident in the late eveningwhere all the victims were found with their hands tied behind their back, a .22 hole in the back of the head and the bus careening off the road for no reason and down the embankment into water where blocks of concrete in the storage wells took it down quickly.  All press kept away.  Declared an accident the next day before sunrise.  The CIA way.

The only question is, is the FBI attempting to collect the reward?

I wonder how long it will take them to discover that - ... oh, never mind.

To the CIA:

If you're not doing anything wrong then you have nothing to worry about

11b40's picture

But they have been doing so much that is wrong for so long, and now they have a mole.  Huge problem with this for them.  They can't cover over it unless they locate and neutralize the leaker.  Unless caught, he/she has the ability to come at them again, and disprove any cover stories they invent.

They have a lot to worry about.  Kind of like walking through a minefield not knowing when or where there may be an explosion.

If they want to go after a traitor--they should not be looking for the person that came to the conclusion that enough was too much.
