China Issues Unprecedented Warning To Citizens In North Korea: Return Home

Tyler Durden's picture

In an unprecedented move, the Chinese Embassy in North Korea has advised Korean-Chinese residents to return home amid concern that the North's military provocations may trigger a U.S. attack on the North.

The Korea Times reports that the embassy began sending the message on Apr. 20, five days before the North celebrated the 85th anniversary of the Korean People's Army with a show of military power, according to Radio Free Asia (a U.S.-based station specializes in North Korea).

The station cited a Korean-Chinese living in the North's capital, who said he left for China late last month after the embassy contacted him. He said he has been visiting China every two to three months but, after being told he should "stay in China for a while," left North Korea a month early.

"The embassy has never given such a warning. I was worried and left the country in a hurry," said the man, whose name was withheld.

But he said that most Korean-Chinese residents in Pyongyang were ignoring the message.

The city's "peaceful" atmosphere, despite the global crisis due to the state's threats involving missiles and nuclear tests, might have kept them unaware of the situation, he added.

The embassy's warning indicates that China is worried that the saber-rattling North and U.S. moves to destabilize the Kim Jong-un regime might affect Chinese citizens abroad.

Wait... they like it there? Or is it that they will die if they try to go home. Who the fuck moves there!?!?!?

I lived in Shanghai for three years. I didn't want to come back to the US.

China looks to be really "ticked off" concerning behavior of NK.

I believe it is a very clear message.

Truly sad situation.

Gee, is that anything like N Americanos should get their asses out of Mexico because it is savage and poorly ruled?

Go to Mexico City..  it is a beautiful place replete with great architecture, a bunch of great people and a cop on every corner slinging an M-16.

*face palm*

Maybe it has something to do with state-run television, state-controlled newspapers, and no internet.

You forgot no Mobile phones (I had to leave mine at the airport when I visited) and no private cars other than those owned by the animals who are more equal than the ordinary animals. That does make for a "peaceful" feeling.....

AVmaster's picture

It's always peaceful there because there's nothing there...

No cars, planes, phones, tv's, people, etc etc etc....

Archibald Buttle's picture

sounds a lot like where i live, and we have a metric shit-ton of mobile phones and private cars. well, the cars pale in comparison to the SUVs and pickup trucks, but that is really irrelevant to my point. and lots of really big teevees. and facefuck. and animals that are more equal than the ordinary animals as well. exceptional, indeed.

Perhaps you should not take what he said so negatively about the USa.  Will all the snowflake / millienial / SJW etc the USA is not what it used to be unfortunately.  Truely so. He may have had those thoughts for all the wrong reasons or not but I can tell you for instance the US chubby women all think they are princesses.  All that strange unnatural stuff has been taken too trannies in the women's bathroom.

Well you do have a point there!

Chinese are pillaging and plundering in every corner of the globe.

"The USA since it's inception has been pillaging and plundering in every corner of the globe."

There FIFY now it is more in tune with reality than your delusional stupidity.

Xena's comment was not wrong, nor was yours... well, the first part, I mean.

And yet they are bankrupt.

With China's one child policy there are few women to go around. Would guess that most Chinese are there for female companions and even have children there. If you go back to the basics and success/money isn't really available in your tiny village-- a nice wife and kids is actually a win.

Maybe things are cheaper there? Prostitutes?

Some (state-owned) companies in China have business there. Otherwise it's not such a great place - not much in the way of electricity, internet, etc.

Meanwhile, the North's bitch, Moon, is about to be elected in South Korea... this will create some epic fights between US-SKorea governments.

I'd be amused to hear of Korean MSM blaming Russia for hacking their elections.

When you know you've got a billion countrymen with an AK that might be heading your way, you want to get out of the way.

Just dump the USD and all this nonsense will come to a screeching halt.

Only way to take down the US is economically.

Several have tried. Remember the BRICS?
They are in the shithouse now.
Good luck to 'y matey!

. . . _ _ _ . . .'s picture

Gadaffi and Hussein weren't China and Russia, though.

aurum4040's picture

They are in the shithouse on paper and in the West's interpretation. Russia and China certainly aren't. Brazil and India are fucked right now but it won't last. The bottom line is the US is the weakest country among the BRICS. Citizen to Citizen, hard asset to hard asset, debt to debt - no contest. Also  the vast majority of Americans are the biggest pussies on the planet who have no clue what it means to survive a hard time or to fight for their lives. All it would take is a simulataneous mid size EMP and a UST dump and we would never recover superpower status.  Alot less would also result in same.

Archibald Buttle's picture

much less indeed. and "the vast majority of americans (who) are the biggest pussies on the planet..." will never see it coming.

So the people of the People's Republic of China told the people of the People's Republic of North Korea to go back for the sake of the people?

Fukushima Dai Ichi's 'currently undergoing planned shut-down and maintainence', but Fukushima Dai-INI is still 'up and running' (just in case you are worried about the supply of Depleted Uranium/239 that will be coating the 'bunker-buster' shells and tank rounds that the 'ALLIES' use).

The headline would lead you to believe this is a new, scary development, but it's from TWO WEEKS AGO.

MontgomeryScott's picture

Tells us ALL, you sage of the 'news': WHEN did YOU first hear of this?

    RIGHT NOW, I think.

STFU, and GTFOOH with your smartass smarmy commentary (get out of the way for those who are smart enough to be able to put past events and revelations in a current or future tense).

Xena fobe's picture

I did a quick search and the headline is on several MSM outlets dated 5/1 - 5/3.  Nothing from 2 weeks ago.  Perhaps it was a suggestion two weeks ago but is now a recommendation or order?

Most likely China is worried that if they put the screws to the NorKs (cut off oil and aid, for example) then Chinese ex-pats there will be punished. You know, that whole anti-aircraft-gun-firing-squad-at-dawn business the NorKs seem to love.
