No, the “New” CNN Video of the Chemical Incident Does NOT Prove that the Syrian Government Did It

George Washington's picture

The Sun claims that CNN has released new footage of last month’s Syrian chemical incident … and strongly implies that the Syrian government was responsible.

Washington’s Blog asked MIT rocket scientist and chemical weapons expert Theodore Postol* what he thought of the footage.

Postol replied:

I agree that the footage is harrowing. However none of it is new and none of it proves that the Syrian government was the perpetrator of a nerve agent attack.

As such, this article merely falls into the category of propaganda.

The kindest alternative description of the article is that it might instead be yet another example of bad reporting that mixes ill-considered assumptions with facts that may or may not be relevant to its conclusions.

This kind of reporting could actually be encouraging such attacks.

If there was a false flag nerve agent attack, this tells the perpetrators that when they engage in the murder of children they can build a stronger false case against the Syrian government and thereby increase their chances of creating political pressure on the US Government to intervene militarily on their behalf.

If people are sickened by the inhumanity of these events, they might want to consider alternative explanations of who might be responsible for the immoralities we are seeing.

* Postol is  professor emeritus of science, technology, and national security policy at MIT.  Postol’s main expertise is in ballistic missiles. He has a substantial background in air dispersal, including how toxic plumes move in the air. Postol has taught courses on weapons of mass destruction – including chemical and biological threats – at MIT.  Before joining MIT, Postol worked as an analyst at the Office of Technology Assessment, as a science and policy adviser to the chief of naval operations, and as a researcher at Argonne National Laboratory.  He also helped build a program at Stanford University to train mid-career scientists to study weapons technology in relation to defense and arms control policy. Postol is a highly-decorated scientist, receiving the Leo Szilard Prize from the American Physical Society, the Hilliard Roderick Prize from the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Richard L. Garwin Award from the Federation of American Scientists.

Billions of peope in the world, most of them with their faces stuck in a television broadcasting MSM bs or in their IPhone.  The truth on YouTube gets few views, bs, wow, millions of hits.  We get what we deserve, or, we are the victims of the idiocy of the masses?

The purpose of this propaganda is to create War between the Zionists and Islam in which both are destroyed.

shovelhead's picture

Well combine that with the strangely rapid release of video of obviously sedated kids receiving "life saving injections" where the needle goes in but the plunger is never depressed. Fake injections combined with a muted voice in Arabic on the tape giving stage direction to the "Doctors". A Swedish Dr. that reviewed that tape said the needle in the heart being jammed around like injecting a brisket for bbq more than likely killed that kid.

It doesn't get much more heinous than killing a kid on camera for propaganda.

Head's up!

Is Al-Jazeera making chemical attack videos ahead of time? (Original source from Sputnik here, in French) It would seem that they are, and financed from Europe, no less.

This is rumour for the moment, but keep your eyes peeled so you can spot the fake when it happens.

Possible locations: Saraqib, Erich, and Jisr al-Shugur (all three in the Syrian province of Idlib.)

Almost all the world’s economic and political problems revolve around the hegemony of a global corporate cartel, which is headquartered in the US because this is where their military force resides. The only way to regain our sovereignty as a constitutional republic is to severely curtail the privileges of any corporation doing business here. As a free nation, we really have to stop granting corporate charters to just any “suit” that comes along without fulfilling a defined social value in return. The "Divine Right Of Kings” should not apply to fictitious entities just because they are “Too Big To Fail”. We can't take the incorporation of private transnational banks for granted anymore. The government must be held responsible only to the electorate, not fictitious entities, if we are ever to restore sanity, much less prosperity, to the world.

It was a loophole in our Constitution that allowed corporate charters to be so easily obtained it created a swamp of corruption around our capital. It is a swamp that can't be drained at this point because the Constitution  doesn’t provide a drain. This 28th amendment is intended to install that drain so Congress can pull the plug ASAP. As a matter of political practicality we must rely on the Article 5 Convention for which the electorate will need consensus beforehand. Seriously; an Article 5 Constitutional Convention could solve that problem in days. This is what I think it will take to save the world; and nobody gets hurt:

28th Amendment

Corporations are not persons in any sense of the word and shall be granted only those rights and privileges that Congress deems necessary for the well-being of the People. Congress shall provide legislation defining the terms and conditions of corporate charters according to their purpose; which shall include, but are not limited to:

1, prohibitions against any corporation;

a, owning another corporation,

b, becoming economically indispensable or monopolistic, or

c, otherwise distorting the general economy;

2, prohibitions against any form of interference in the affairs of;

a, government,

b, education, or

c, news media, and

3, provisions for;

a, the auditing of standardized, current, and transparent account books, and

b, the establishment of a state and municipal-owned banking system

c, civil and criminal penalties to be suffered by corporate executives for violation of the terms of a corporate charter.

The Founders had to fight a bloody Revolutionary War to win our right to incorporate as a nation – the USA. But then, for whatever reason, our Founders granted the greediest businessmen among them unrestricted corporate charters with enough potential capital & power to compete with the individual States, smaller sovereign nations, and eventually to buy out the Federal government itself. Now that these fictitious entities own the USA and command its military infrastructure, by virtue of the Federal Reserve Corporation, and run it by virtue of regulatory capture, MSM propaganda, and Congressional lobbying they’ve set their sights on the creation of an all-inclusive global financial empire. The US Constitution is the “Kingpin” of the whole global Machine.

Do you see in ANY of these videos about a supposed sarin attack where the victims are administered atropine?

No, you don't. The victims get transported hither and yon, always with c!othing removed or half off. You see oxygen masks and phony CPR and IV lines. Lines introducing what? What good is oxygen? The girl in the back of the truck is gasping for breath supposedly but does SHE get oxygen? No. Priority is to FILM her, and do nothing for her.

Why are people racing into supposed hospitals with limp children? For ineffectual treatment?

You see victims hosed down but most appear dead. Wouldn't atropine do more good than hosing off long after the damage has been done? Where is the evidence of bowel snd bladder voiding? Not one instance.

With the millions available to MSF, the SAMS, the White Helmets, etc. why have none of them laid in atropine? SAMS talks about awareness and training programs? What evidence is there that that's anything but talk? The medical and WH types appear useless.

And every bit of it in areas that are jihadi controlled.

land_of_the_few's picture

And Sarin doesn't cause respiratory distress like in some of the footage. I.E. it is not an inhaled corrosive substance that damages the lungs and causes mouth frothing. It causes loss of control of bowels, paralysis and death. A face mask alone is pointless, covering exposed skin is the main point. So clearly the "first responders" were just the usual degenerate hired fakers.

Ace006's picture

That girl gulping for air is odd and I am skeptical of her.(Sorry. No link.) It's too trite, if that's the word. No one else in the back of the truck is moving but she is. Plus her face is red where sarin victims are cyonotic and thus have blue skin.

I understand that chlorine damags the lung tissue and it would make sense that lungs would produce fluid as a response. Sarin induces nasal secretion and tears.

The White Helmets seem to have three things in their script: breathing difficulty, oxygen mask, and the words "dilated pupils."

Come on George.

No one gives a crap about the ME barbarians,

They drown people in cages, burn people in cages, have massive beheading events.

These people are barbarians. Nothing more, nothing less.

Simply nuke the ME and after the radiation levels die down, use their oil to benefit the USA and our allies.

Stop the cry baby BS!

The problem is that the ME has been bribing our politicians (and EU's) for the past 20 years with their oil money.

The other question should be to find out who is controlling/funding CNN?

President Trump if you are going to bomb anyone, I propose moving DC and CA to the top of the list.

s T e v o's picture

The way I see it, Trump is justified to bomb Syria.

Syria is supposed to have given up their nerve gas weapons and yet they still have them, or some camel fuuker over there does.

Trump needed to send a message to the Bashagging al-Asshat that gassing people is not an option.

Trump had to do it because the United Nations of Pussys is nowhere to be found.

Even if Asshat didn't gas his people, he needs to find who did and if he can't, well then Trump will just have burn Hillarys next election slush fund to bomb Asshat again.

Sirius Wonderblast's picture

"or some camel fuuker (sic) over there does". (Some problem with parental controls on your ISP, or just with spelling?)

Maybe some camel-worrier does have chemical weapons. Maybe they don't. That is no reason to bomb Syria, a sovereign nation which is engaged in repelling insrgency. It doesn't matter which side of the fence you sit, that is the fact of the matter. Existence, let alone use and by whom, of chemical weapons is very far from proven.

Seems you don't like Assad cos you're told not to.  Try thinking for yourself.

Postol seemingly implies a course of action by the perpetrators or sponsors of any attack (if any actually took place) that one can imagine might well be attractive to persons seeking a premise to draw an actor in, or to be drawn in.

Ace006's picture

Whoa. Five seconds of my life completely wasted. Gone. For nothing.

tangent's picture

"...or some camel fuuker" Yes, look up 2013 ISIS sarin gas. Then you'll know who the "camel fuuker" is who has the WMDs in Syria. Do you spend all your time attacking crime victims, or just most of it?

not dead yet's picture

So just go bomb someone for the hell of it is what you are saying. If you had half a brain and actually followed events you wouldn't spout such bullshit. Supposedly some people died from gas so they deserved to be bombed but yet thanks to US meddling and supporting asshats there is a humanitarian disaster in Sudan and Yemen especially dead and starving children. Yemen where the US is bombing alongside Saudi Arabia and where the Saudi's are targeting innocent civilians while destroying schools, hospitals, and infrastructure. Yemen, one of the poorist countries on the planet that isn't much more a desert full of rocks. How is this a danger to US security. Or where were you when Obama's, and now Trumps, drones have and continue to kill thousands of innocent people. Or Libya the most prosperous country in Africa working hand in hand with the US in the terror war now a failed state chock full of Al Qaeda and ISIS where there were none previous to the US and it's lackys turing that country into a failed state.

"By Clarissa Ward, Waffa Munayyer, Salma Abdelaziz, and Fiona Sibbett, CNN"

Clarissa Ward is based in London.

Salma Abdelaziz is based in London.

Waffa Munayyer is based in Atlanta.

Fiona Sibbett is an editor/producer and does not leave the office.

No credibility here. They source their news from the White Helmets and other terror groups.

Arwa Damon is another reporter who reports from afar.

"...she bit 2 medics in drunken rage..."

Arwa Damon is a violent alcoholic who happens to be "...the granddaughter of a former Prime Minister of Syria [Muhsin al-Barazi] who was assassinated in a 1949 military coup." Strong indications exists that the coup was planned/funded by CIA.

Her reporting on Syria has come from the relative safety of Iraq and Egypt. She has spent a few hours in Syria.

Everyone who spends any serious time in Syria (49:34) says there is no civil war, that people support Assad, and that rebel mercenaries use chemical weapons, not government forces. You can tell the difference because they don't refer to the government as a regime.

Two credible reporters who have spent time in Syria are:

Eva Bartlett - her blog here

video about MSM myths here (18:34)

Vanessa Beeley - her blog here

Syrian Free Press is also credible - site here

The thing that sucks is that you will only see those kinds of interviews/statements here, where people already knew something was fishy.

The masses will never see something like this. They will see dead baby photos and the constant drum of "analysts" who state we need to do something to stop this.

(((They))) own and run the media, so whatever (((they))) want to be shown will be shown, much to the detriment of many clueless but generally good people.  Most people cannot entertain the thought that the news they hear nightly is tightly controlled and scripted to craft a certain mindset in those who watch it.  They simply cannot deal with the thought that maybe the USA is not that beacon of light shining on the hill.  To think otherwise causes much pain from the cognitive dissonance.

So the world rolls on, with a small percentage of people who will not accept the narrative, and a great majority nodding their heads in approval with every freedom bomb dropped.

We may not always agree, but for the most part I think you come from a good place.

I don't remember Jesus ever promoting or condoning violence of any kind.  However he did not have kind words for people harming children, something the current and past POTUS's are guilty of with their collateral damage and hospital bombings.

What did all of this get the USA?  Respect?  I don't think so.
