The H-1B "Scam" Exposed

The federal H-1B program is intended to allow foreign workers into the US to do high-skill jobs for which employers can’t find qualified domestic workers. In reality, it’s a way for US employers to lower their labor costs, ignoring the large pool of fully qualified (but more expensive) US workers in favor of cheap foreign labor.

This isn’t a small program, either; in 2014 there were 124,326 new applications approved and 191,531 renewed. Since this is a three-year program with one possible renewal, the total number of H-1B foreign workers in the US is triple that, or close to a million lower-wage workers in positions that should otherwise go to US workers at much higher wages.

Where are those workers coming from? According to a recent report to Congress, in 2012 most – 64% – come from India, with no other country sending anywhere close to that many (China came closest at 7.6%).

Given that so many come from India, and that they’re coming under the pretense that they are significantly more qualified than their American counterparts, you may be stunned to learn just how poor the Indian training system when it comes to computer programming.

According to a 2017 skills assessment of graduating Indian software engineers conducted by Aspiring Minds, an Indian skills assessment company:

  • Out of the 2 problems given per candidate, only 14% engineers are able to write compilable codes for both and only 22% write compilable code for exactly one problem.
  • Only 14.67% of engineers are employable for IT Services company, while a worryingly low percentage of 2.47% are observed to be employable in IT Product company.
  • Amazingly, just 2.21% of candidates are able to write functionally and logically correct code.

This is the labor pool from which we’re pulling the majority of overseas workers, who our US staff supposedly cannot compete with.

Around here, they have taken over whole apartment complexes, and the local schools are almost 100% Indians. 

Are you telling me that Americans couldn't be found to do this work? In a pig's ass. We know that. It's a racket. Another sign of America's decline. 

Someone above mentioned how grinding it is to hear the political and educational types going on about STEM training. I second that. These self-interested fuckers leading American kids into believing that if they invest 100k and years of hard work into preparing for an IT career are vomit-inducing. The Mafia couldn't run a racket this well. 

If this house of cards ever collapses, it's gonna be quite ugly. If Americans ever get angry about what's been done to their country, it's gonna be quite ugly.

One of the most infamous importers of low rent IT labor is Disney.

Having interacted with them on several occasions, and across several past employers, I can say unequivocally that Disney runs a Mickey Mouse network, and are surely suffering the karma of hiring substandard staff.

From mismanagement of servers and potential data loss, to allowing the escape of the latest "Pirates of the Caribbean" film into the hands of hackers demanding ransom, these low rent staff are paying dividends for Disney, if by that you mean "payback's a bitch!"

As for software engineers, junior staff, regardless of source, need to be carefully vetted and mentored before their code can be allowed out of captivity, otherwise, never mind re-inventing the wheel, these whizkids will reinvent bugs which have been beaten out of mature code years or decades earlier. Experience costs, but not as much as ignorance!

Yeah some of the worst coders are guys that are really fast but shitty. They can do a lot of damage because of their speed and managers sometimes give them more influence than they deserve.

TU +100. You could replace "Disney" with many other household names and the story would be the same. I've been personally dealing with this H1B crap for decades. The Asians are great in certain roles. They typically care about their work, they are honest, and they try very hard, but they have a tough time with creativity because that culture really pounds down any nail that sticks up. Creativity has been beat out of them from birth. Those GD f*cking Indians are another story. The labor cost saving is a farce when you consider that it takes five of those lazy turds to produce the equivalent of one US worker (assuming you pay someone to browbeat them relentlessly otherwise they'll produce nothing) and the end result is virtually guaranteed to be inferior. Not to mention they'll steal you blind like the Disney case you mentioned.

Name one innovation from Microsoft that they didn't steal from someone else. Good luck. Big doesn't equal good. IBM was once "big". IBM was an early adopter of McKinsey's third world cost saving plan. Fast forward 20 years (try as they might, even the ivy league inbreed CEO's can't screw up a good company overnight) and now they're getting exactly what they so richly deserve for f*cking over their US employees back in the mid 1990's. Microsoft will get their comeuppance in due time. So will the spy kings at Scroogle.  Cisco (another H1B abuser) got a good (and long overdue) shellacking today thanks to losing out to competitors.  Don't worry. All of these f*cker companies are going to reap what they sow, but they can ride on the past genius of US engineers for quite a while before the deceit comes home to roost.

This is how it really works: manager which decides hiring of an IT development team for a project gets a bribe ranging from 10k to 100k depending on a size of a contract.

Tale telling signs: manager goes for a short trip to India to "sign contract papers" comes back completely supportive of whatever shitty developments and turns the project takes.

Bribe enables blackmailing the manager if manager's to cause any trouble.

It greatly helps if the manager is also from India.

Law is not looking into this for whatever reason...

Thank you for enlightening me to this obvious explanation. Of course! In India bribing someone is second nature and part of daily life. And I always thought it was some kind of nationalistic organized nationalistic attack when it is just greed.

AIG (signed outsourcing deal in 2007 in Europe with Accenture Indian frauds, collapsed in 2009)

 

AirBus (Qantas plane plunged 650 feet injuring passengers when its computer system written by India disengaged the auto-pilot).

U.S. airport shutdown when they used a short int instead of a long int

 

Computer Associates - Former CEO Sanjay Kumar, an Indian national, sentenced to 12 years in federal prison for accounting fraud.

 

Deloitte - 2010 - this Indian-packed consulting company is being sued 

under RICO fraud charges by Marin Country, California for a failed 

solution.

 

Dell - call center (closed in India)

 

Delta call centers (closed in India)

 

Fannie Mae - Hired large numbers of Indians, had to be bailed out. Indian logic bomb creator found guilty and sent to prison.

 

GM - Was booming in 2006, signed $300 million outsourcing deal with Wipro that same year, went bankrupt 3 years later

 

HP - Got out of the PC hardware business in 2011 and can't compete with 

Apple's tablets. HP was taken over by Indians and Chinese in 2001. So 

much for 'Asian' talent!

 

HSBC ATMs (software taken over by Indians, failed in 2006)

 

Intel Whitefield processor project (cancelled, Indian staff canned)

 

JetStar Airways computer failure brings down Christchurch airport on 

9/17/11. JetStar is owned by Quantas - which is know to have outsourced 

to India, Inc.

 

Lehman (Spectramind software bought by Wipro, ruined, trashed by Indian programmers)

 

Medicare - Defrauded by Indian national doctor Arun Sharma & wife in the U.S.

 

Microsoft - Employs over 35,000 H-1Bs. Stock used to be $100. Today it's lucky to be over $25. Not to mention that Vista thing.

This shit started in around 1999. So the the numbers in this article are way understated. I imagine over the years there were millions and millions that when their visas expired they just stayed.

Larry Ellison and that cunt Carly Fiorina were amonst the original engineers of flooding these people in. Bank Of America and Lucent were others. Recruiters and staffing agncies like Modis IT,  Robert Half, Volt,  etc played a big hand in it as well. Now with all the companies it is just standard of procedure.

I worked in Systems and Networking for about 6 years, always as a contractor. Between affimative action, outsourcing and the flood of H1b and L1 visas, it was pointless and hopeless to stay in the industry especailly in high cost of living area like the Bay Area.

I would like to see the jeering cocksuckers like Bill Gates and Zuckerburg kick their feet wildly with a piece of piano wire around their neck dangling from a lamp post.

I had a taste of that myself and wondered why I ever got into that racket. 

Like I said, if this house of cards ever collapses, there's enough pent-up anger in America to make the San Andreas look like a minor jiggle. 

When has there been such open contempt for the majority by the elites like Gates and that other ugly fuck. Like someone else said, Disney might have had his flaws, but at least he was mildly patriotic and committed to producing quality. Today's elites openly despise middle Americans, particularly the traditional White male producers of the past. They don't even bother to hide it.

Witness the asshole who said White rural Americans should rightly die off and be replaced by immigrants if they can't adapt. In other words, if you won't work as cheaply as an Indian peasant, get the fuck out of the way. 

Is it any wonder they keep their private jets all gassed up? You can't print your way out of 22 trillion of debt, and when it blows, there's nothing holding this country together anymore. It's gonna blow someday. Only question is when.

Like I said before I am a former Microsoft employee, and I live about 5 minuts from the main campus. The entire area is nothing but indians, indians and more indians. Now you know why Microsoft writes shitty software.

Well the Article is True to an extend. Our schooling and culture failed to educate the kids with Mathematics & Critical thinking skills. Our kids are busy having fun drinking, smoking and looking for pussy; nothing wrong about it but most of them lost in it most of their teen years and stayed too dumb for these Jobs.

Michelle Malkin of all people wrote a great book about this called "Sold Out".  So she is hot and has a brain (probably a negative).  H1B is tip of the iceberg, there are half a dozen other programs, like continuing work visas after graudation from a STEM program in the US.  Another problem with all these immigration visas is that they give jobs and green cards to the wives of the H1B holders as well.  So they aren't eliminating one job, they are eliminating 2 jobs.  While microsoft, google, facebook and apple tend to pay premiums for immigrant labor on average $125K per year, the indian body shops pay $70K, such as Tata, Wipro, Cognizent and the many others that have in many cases been sued for fraud etc.  

Citibank had that episode where they offshored wealth management back office work to India.  Though the Indians work in clean rooms, they can't bring in pens, papers, pencils, cell phones, the guys working there had high IQs and photographic memories.  They made off with tens of millions in dollars in stolen savings from customers.  

The issue isn't qualification as they aren't.  The issue is that their culture sucks in general and they bring it here to the US.  Most of the country doesn't have running toilets.  They are inherently classists or highly stratified and hate that about the US.  They will tell any lie to avoid moving back so they lie like crazy.  

One Indian guy I knew had a shitty arranged marriage.  He had gone to a good MBA program and his wife was hot and bitchy from an upper crust Indian family.  Meant they had a bathroom and not an outhouse in India.  She used to arrange 3 dinners a night in NYC and then decide the night of, which couple they were dining with was most important and cancel the other 2 dinners.  Totally unAmerican, though it may be very New Yorkish.  Didn't matter, he got fired from his job at a bulge bracket bank because though he was a braniac, he was a dick..

Most of these comments are sour grapes from people who, at best, cannot complete or at worst, are racist. I don't discount the cultural issues (spitting, smell, etc.) but there are enough of those with all races. If H1-B holders are so terrbile, how is it two of the biggest companies in the world, Google and Microsoft, are led by Indians originally from India (ie. the came on some visa)? Not to mention the THOUSANDS of Indians in management (Director, VP, SVP, CxO, etc.) throught US companies. 

There are many losers in globalization and that includes much of middle America. Yes we were sold out by our government and the H1-B program is a scam but that does not necessrilty make the beneficiaries stupid or unqualified across the board.
