Roger Ailes Dead At 77

Tyler Durden's picture

Media giant Roger Ailes, who resigned as chairman and CEO of Fox News amid sexual harassment allegations last year, has died at the age of 77. His death was first reported by the Drudge Report. No cause of death was given.

The statement shared by his wife Elizabeth Ailes read as follows:

I am profoundly sad and heartbroken to report that my husband, Roger Ailes, passed away this morning. Roger was a loving husband to me, to his son Zachary, and a loyal friend to many. He was also a patriot, profoundly grateful to live in a country that gave him so much opportunity to work hard, to rise—and to give back. During a career that stretched over more than five decades, his work in entertainment, in politics, and in news affected the lives of many millions. And so even as we mourn his death, we celebrate his life...

Shortly after, Fox confirmed:

Brian Kilmeade, a Fox News host, said on the channel that Ailes “helped build Fox News Channel into the powerhouse it is today.”

Ailes founded Fox News and helped shape the modern cable news landscape in the process. For the last 15 years, the conservative outlet regularly trounced its arch rival CNN in the ratings.

But his time with the network and his association with Mr Murdoch ended in disgrace last year when he was fired following an investigation into claims that he sexually harassed Gretchen Carlson, a former presenter.

Ailes resigned as head of Fox News in July 2016 after 20 years leading the network, amid allegations that he sexually harassed Gretchen Carlson, a former presenter.

Anyone else ever noticed that those fighting the globalists are constantly dropping dead every third week, while the likes of Soros, Greenspan and Kissinger et al seem to live on forever?

If you only knew what I know.

This BS about "I've been here longer" doesn't really tell the whole story.

Oh, I've only been registered here for a couple years, tho' I've lurked longer than that.

But I'm sick of these under-one-month leftist trolls threadshitting all over the place, so I like to call them out. FrozenGoodz is another example of a pathetic little worm who isn't here to offer any sort of intelligent counterpoint view, just to fling its fetid shit all over the walls.

he/she also only comments on Trump, never a comment on anything financial related.

I am in no way defending who's-his-face up there.  However, I have only been a registered member for a short time.  OH yeah, I've been lurking for forever.  Why didn't I post sooner?  The people on here are some of the smartest and most informed I have ever come across any place.  I well remembr fight club, and for somebody like me who isn't much with the quick quips and come-backs, to say I was intimidated would be an understatement.  And no, I doubt you'll see me making many comments on the financial stories because that is the reason I'm here.  When my husband and I decided we were in no way prepared to handle his 401k, I started out at Market Watch trying to educate myself.  Luckily, someone there mentioned this place, and I never looked back.  The education I have received here is priceless.  I still have no clue what the VIX, bps, or any of the charts mean, but thanks to you all, I know it doesn't really matter any more.  Our 401k is empty, we have a nice stash of PMs safely in the muck of our lake, and I can find the Ukraine on a map.

Just sayin'.  Please don't lump all of us short timers together.  And I really miss Fonz and Trav and Cougar and so many of the guys that were here when I started.  The night of the nailgun suicide, you had me laughing until I cried.

I've been lurking and learning here for years also.

Just joined the other day.

Glad I'm not alone in that.

What I am saying is that many of these 2 week people are in fact long time posters, (including the one you singled out).

Like Francis Sawyer for one. His name was Francis Sawyer, and HyBrasilian, and Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, and....................Tyler boots him off about every 2 weeks. Just when I recognize him it seems. He has a thing for movies.

RIP, a good man that didn't deserve what happened to him. Lying bitches.

RIP Chris Cornell.

With his powerful, nearly four-octave vocal range, Cornell was one of the leading voices of the 1990s grunge movement with Soundgarden, which emerged as one of the biggest bands out of Seattle's emerging music scene, joining the likes of Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains.

Formed in 1984 by Cornell, guitarist Kim Thayil and bassist Hiro Yamamoto, Soundgarden's third studio album, "Badmotorfinger," in 1991 spawned popular singles "Jesus Christ Pose," ''Rusty Cage" and "Outshined" that received regular play on alternative rock radio stations.

Cornell also collaborated with members of what would become Pearl Jam to form Temple of the Dog, which produced a self-titled album in 1991 in tribute to friend Andrew Wood, former frontman of Mother Love Bone.

Three years later, Soundgarden broke through on mainstream radio with the album "Superunknown," which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and was nominated for a Grammy for Best Rock Record in 1995. It included hit singles "Spoonman," ''Fell on Black Days," ''Black Hole Sun," ''My Wave" and "The Day I Tried to Live."

What if Ailes was talking about going to form a new media corporation and cable news network or some such thing?

Now that it looks like all the harrassment dustup was an evidence-free fabrication. Just more of the globalist left taking apart any perceived opposition.

If I had read this comment when I first started on ZH many years ago, I would have thought you were a looney toon.

Now I read this comment and think to myself "yeup, that guy is totally awake."

Amazing how access to information can change your perception of things.

Hey, remember that rumor about Al Gore traveling with a suitcase of blood to keep him young or to treat his disease.

Haus-Targaryen's picture

Never heard that, but I have been convinced beyond a reasonable doubt that a good chunk of those running the Western World dabble in the Occult at a minimum, and are full blown Satanists at worst.

BarkingCat's picture

If you were to take what's in the Old Testament as truth the Satan is not the bad guy.

Exactly whichmain character in that book asked for sacrifices, led his peoole to attack others,  destroyed cities, caused plaques and femine that resulted in human and animal suffering and death??

Which one flooded the world?

strannick's picture

Which One died on the Cross?

Mr. Universe's picture

You kind of got ahead of yourself a bit. Which main character decided that he should be God over the creator? Caused sucha ruckus as to be cast out and then when God creates Eden, what did Satan do?

Just remember Barking Cat, there's a lot of, uh, well, badness in the world today. I see it in court today. I've sentenced cats younger than you to the gas chamber. Didn't wanna do it, but felt I owed it to them. The most important decision you can make right now is what do you stand for, BC? Goodness... or badness?

Dame Ednas Possum's picture

I hear you.

ZH has certainly shaped my thinking over the past few years. I don't always agree with the stories or the comments... but they certainly provoke deep thought and the development of well reasoned opinion.

Including the former prime minister of Malaysia. At the age of 92 he is still fighting very hard to get rid of the sitting prime minister who is the world's most corrupt prime minister. The FBI is probing him and DOJ named him as MO1 (Malaysia Official No.1). He claims he is Trump's favourite prime minister and goft buddy. Mr. Trump are you going to protect him?
