Explosion At US Embassy In Ukraine After Device Thrown Inside Compound In "Terrorist Act"

Tyler Durden's picture

Shortly after midnight local time on Thursday, an unknown attacker threw a device in the U.S. embassy compound in Ukraine's capital Kiev which exploded. Nobody was injured, according to Reuters. Authorities have called the incident a terrorist act.

Authorities in Kiev said in a statement that the incident occurred at 12:05 a.m. local time, and occurred at the U.S. Embassy compound in the Shevchenko district.

The small blast didn't cause any injuries or structural damage

"It was determined that an unknown assailant threw an unidentified explosive device onto the grounds of the diplomatic mission. Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Art. 258 (Terrorist Act) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine," the statement read, according to The Mirror. The U.S. Department of State issued a travel warning in 2016 for U.S. citizens in Ukraine according to which "the situation in Ukraine is unpredictable and could change quickly."

Police sent a rapid response unit and explosives experts to the attack site and are still hunting the terrorist.

No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the explosion, and the investigation has been handed over to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), which is responsible for investigating crimes including terror acts.

it looks like a flaming poop bag bomb........looks like it almost killed some grass.

Haus-Targaryen's picture

Funny, given how walls and fences don't do anything ... why do we have one around the embassy there?

ParkAveFlasher's picture

Europeans can't throw, is my chief takeaway here.

07564111's picture

they can't make decent IEDs either.

peddling-fiction's picture

They can but they did not. False flag?

CheapBastard's picture

Looks like a cherry bomb to me. Can't even injure a squirrel.

Looks like US cruise missile damage in Syria.

HowdyDoody's picture

The Russians, Syrians, Iraqis, Turks, Qataris, Houthis, Egyptians, Libyans, Greeks, Philippinos, Chinese, North Koreans, South Koreans, Venezuelans and Brazilians did it.

Looks like someone tried to set up a Molotov like false flag. Next, US accusing Russia of a direct terrorist act because well the name Molotov is Russian /dark sarc

AllBentOutOfShape's picture

They'll blame Russia for supporting the act, but first blame Donbass for carrying out the act.  They have been trying create a pretext for an all-out invasion of Donbass for a while now, and this could be the first false flag in a line of several more false flags to come in the next few days and weeks to create the pretext they're desperately needing.  They cut cell service in Donbass just the other day and then turned it back on today.  Donbass thinks it was a dry run for a possible all-out invasion.  They would definitely have to cut cell and internet service before launching any full-scale invasion.

ZATO spec ops are probably assembling in Galatia as they self-escalate this puppet show.

The picture of the bomb(?) in the grass looks like a knife handle or maybe a paint scraper. Watch out the bombs got a knife! I,ve made bigger explosions with black cats when I was 8. Some terrorist threat this guy is, phhst.

I am a former MSG, that was stationed at a couple of different Embassies. Fences are perimeter security. Just like a lock, it keeps an honest man honest. Practically, a wall will provide some reaction time to respond to a threat. If the wall is sufficiently constructed, it will be a vehicular barrier, largely preventing VBIEDs.

Walls and fences are just another layer of security.

Haus-Targaryen's picture

Understand, I was poking fun at the leftish schtick in the US and here in Rainbowland that walls and fences to keep illegeals out of your country don't do anything.

Sometimes I don't pick up sarcasm via text. Normally I am a super-cynical bastard with gallows humor, but it still escapes me at times. We need a sarcasm font. :^)

Gen. Ripper's picture

Did you by chance have an MSG instructor by the name of MGYSGT Northcott?

Jethro's picture

No. I went to Quantico in late 92, early 93. Our State Dept dude was Mr. Kninicke (sp?), and our main USMC dude was Top Dussalt.

LOL! Thanks. I am probably on the spectrum...having an engineering degree, it's pretty much a requirement.

The fences are to stop democracy being expressed directly, particularly the closely-slatted metal kind of fence. Normally there is a higher identical inner fence to ensure that democracy flies safely over the roof at an upwards angle ;)

Justin Case's picture

Our current fences are invisible. They are called laws, but as time progresses, we will get used to the physical fences that will slowly herd the sheeple. Just watch Palestine, it's the largest open air prison on the planet. Israel is the only country in the world that is allowed to shoot prisoners without protest from international laws.

You should be asking why we have American politicians running their government and why Hunter Biden (Joe's son) moved in to sit on the board of a major Ukrainian company. Also let's ask Ukraine where their countries gold went or why a know American asset (according to wikileaks) became leader of their country......or why the telephone call with Victoria Nuland about how they were going to divide up the Ukraine and who they wanted in power was ignored by the press.....or why the leader of that country gave George Soros a recognition award for his mercinaries....uh help....with the country.

Looks like Victoria Nuland and co needs to give away more free bread to the hungry crowd.

A passing-by ant is in serious but stable condition.

Don't they have some security cameras around the fence perimeter?

Or it was mostly un-surveyed like the west wall of the Pentagon?

Maybe they need more tax money to improve security of US embassies?

Luc X. Ifer's picture

That is not going to work out well, on the CCTV it shows it was planted from inside :)

Luc X. Ifer's picture

On CNN they just released the news that the unfortunate ant just passed away due to the horible injuries caused by explosion, actually only the head made it to emergency still moving the claws that's why the personal at the embassy thought the ant was in bad but stable condition. The ant would be granted post humous US citizenship and such its death would fit legally the terrorism act.

merica just created another shit hole of a country on an abandoned initiative. Once Russia saved Sevastopol, the merican's had no use for the Ukraine. The plot was to cut off Russian navy quick/easy access to the Mediterranean. Ukraine and NATO? Just another angle to surround Russia.

They will let Ukraine rot now. Ukraine should stop the suffering for the people and join Russia and forget hopes of prosperity joining the west. They were shit on.

Ughhhh. Sucks to be a Marine Security Guard there today.

And guard no. 3 needs to hoist his britches up a tad, but at least he is famous now.

That is a local guard. An MSG doesn't look like that.

Maybe the Embassy needs to hire some gopniks in Adidas track suits to do some Slav squatting/drinking around the perimeter? Payment in vodka/and or tracksuits might be a great recruiting tool.
