Retired FBI Special Agent Blows The Whistle On The Real Robert Mueller

Tyler Durden's picture

Authored by Mike Krieger via Liberty Blitzkrieg blog,

Shortly after former FBI Director Robert Mueller was announced as the special counsel for the Russia investigation, the screeching hordes of America’s “always wrong about everything” punditry class cheered in near unison, lauding the man as some sort of second coming. This sort of thing should always be seen as a red flag, and thanks to an excellent article written by retired FBI special agent Coleen Rowley, everyone can now know exactly why.

But first, who is Coleen Rowley?

Coleen Rowley, a retired FBI special agent and division legal counsel whose May 2002 memo to then-FBI Director Robert Mueller exposed some of the FBI’s pre-9/11 failures, was named one of TIME magazine’s “Persons of the Year” in 2002. Her 2003 letter to Robert Mueller in opposition to launching the Iraq War is archived in full text on the NYT and her 2013 op-ed entitled “Questions for the FBI Nominee” was published on the day of James Comey’s confirmation hearing.

It’s important to be aware of that background as you read the following excerpts from the excellent post published at CounterPunch titled, Comey and Mueller: Russiagate’s Mythical Heroes:

Mainstream commentators display amnesia when they describe former FBI Directors Robert Mueller and James Comey as stellar and credible law enforcement figures. Perhaps if they included J. Edgar Hoover, such fulsome praise could be put into proper perspective.

Although these Hoover successors, now occupying center stage in the investigation of President Trump, have been hailed for their impeccable character by much of Official Washington, the truth is, as top law enforcement officials of the George W. Bush Administration (Mueller as FBI Director and James Comey as Deputy Attorney General), both presided over post-9/11 cover-ups and secret abuses of the Constitution, enabled Bush-Cheney fabrications used to launch wrongful wars, and exhibited plain vanilla incompetence.

Well of course, that’s how you get promoted in America.

TIME Magazine would probably have not called my own disclosures a “bombshell memo” to the Joint Intelligence Committee Inquiry in May 2002 if it had not been for Mueller’s having so misled everyone after 9/11. Although he bore no personal responsibility for intelligence failures before the attack, since he only became FBI Director a week before, Mueller denied or downplayed the significance of warnings that had poured in yet were all ignored or mishandled during the Spring and Summer of 2001.

I wanted to believe Director Mueller when he expressed some regret in our personal meeting the night before we both testified to the Senate Judiciary Committee. He told me he was seeking improvements and that I should not hesitate to contact him if I ever witnessed a similar situation to what was behind the FBI’s pre 9/11 failures.

A few months later, when it appeared he was acceding to Bush-Cheney’s ginning up intelligence to launch the unjustified, counterproductive and illegal war on Iraq, I took Mueller up on his offer, emailing him my concerns in late February 2003. Mueller knew, for instance, that Vice President Dick Cheney’s claims connecting 9/11 to Iraq were bogus yet he remained quiet. He also never responded to my email.

Beyond ignoring politicized intelligence, Mueller bent to other political pressures. In the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, Mueller directed the “post 9/11 round-up” of about 1,000 immigrants who mostly happened to be in the wrong place (the New York City area) at the wrong time. FBI Headquarters encouraged more and more detentions for what seemed to be essentially P.R. purposes. Field offices were required to report daily the number of detentions in order to supply grist for FBI press releases about FBI “progress” in fighting terrorism. Consequently, some of the detainees were brutalized and jailed for up to a year despite the fact that none turned out to be terrorists.

For his part, Deputy Attorney General James Comey, too, went along with the abuses of Bush and Cheney after 9/11 and signed off on a number of highly illegal programs including warrantless surveillance of Americans and torture of captives. Comey also defended the Bush Administration’s three-year-long detention of an American citizen without charges or right to counsel.

What’s not well understood is that Comey’s and Mueller’s joint intervention to stop Bush’s men from forcing the sick Attorney General to sign the certification that night was a short-lived moment. A few days later, they all simply went back to the drawing board to draft new legal loopholes to continue the same (unconstitutional) surveillance of Americans.

The mythology of this episode, repeated endlessly throughout the press, is that Comey and Mueller did something significant and lasting in that hospital room. They didn’t. Only the legal rationale for their unconstitutional actions was tweaked.

Mueller was even okay with the CIA conducting torture programs after his own agents warned against participation. Agents were simply instructed not to document such torture, and any “war crimes files” were made to disappear. Not only did “collect it all” surveillance and torture programs continue, but Mueller’s (and then Comey’s) FBI later worked to prosecute NSA and CIA whistleblowers who revealed these illegalities.

Neither Comey nor Mueller — who are reported to be “joined at the hip” — deserve their current lionization among politicians and mainstream media. Instead of Jimmy Stewart-like “G-men” with reputations for principled integrity, the two close confidants and collaborators merely proved themselves, along with former CIA Director George “Slam Dunk” Tenet, reliably politicized sycophants, enmeshing themselves in a series of wrongful abuses of power along with official incompetence.

It seems clear that based on his history and close “partnership” with Comey, called “one of the closest working relationships the top ranks of the Justice Department have ever seen,” Mueller was chosen as Special Counsel not because he has integrity but because he will do what the powerful want him to do.

Mueller didn’t speak the truth about a war he knew to be unjustified. He didn’t speak out against torture. He didn’t speak out against unconstitutional surveillance. And he didn’t tell the truth about 9/11. He is just “their man.”

Not good.

Over the last couple of days I have become convinced we are way beyond "DRAINING THE SWAMP"! The President needs to 'EMPTY THE SWAMP"! It is time for MASS firings and a complete reorganization of the Federal Government!!! Apparently we have reached a point where NO ONE CAN BE TRUSTED!!!!

But if they are not like snakes, but instead are like Plants that grow multiple branches with new blossoming buds from where they were pruned, then we may have a larger problem that can ever be dealt wth.

The only way to be sure is to uproot the damned plant.

Gee, what a surprise... these self-righteous, self-promoting, upstanding paragons of impeccable character are actually amoral, Machiavellian, self-serving Deep State lap-dogs.

I'm shocked , SHOCKED to discover these creatures from the swamp are swamp creatures...

And, I can add over a grand to my account each week if I want to blow homos over at the local fag bar. tempting as the EZ money sounds from the spam  trolls..

I prefer not to stoop that low.

Hey, thinking of stooping low… I wonder if the fags would  pay in Bitcoin… now there is a business opportunity.

An extra few Satoshis for a reach-around?

And… the chubsters at the massage parlor could keep everything under wraps if they just took a silent transfer on their sticky smart phone…

At least that is what I surmise.

It was Mueller's directives that ordered all US Attorneys to ignore the reports of Islamists training to fly, not land, aircraft in Florida and elsewhere before 9/11. This asshole is a globalist piece of shit who wanted the Patriot Act (or worse) and will stop at nothing to destroy the desires of the people and their Constitutional rights in exchange for lining his pockets.

First of all, Mueller only became the director 2 months before 9/11, so that can't really be laid on his doorstep.  But let's give Mueller due credit for his greatest success - the cover-up of the 9/11 Israeli and neocon inside job reality.

goober's picture

Good observation. It remians to be seen exactly what tactics Mueller will take, but rest assured he is a deep state monster. He will try to appear fair and just while steering evey nuance and narrative PRAVDA/MSM creates and the DEMs sponsor. He will likely create some himself along the way. It will be very interesting to see how Trump reacts in his dealing with this new arm of the deep state. It is just another leg of the same garbage that has been ongoing from day one. I wonder how many private cionferences Mueller has had in the alst few months gearing up for this adventure ? Many of which were likely illegal given what was discussed and planned. I must say much of the teeth of the DEM deep state narrative were pulled with the Comey charade being fully exposed. Only the die hards will remain on the team as many DEMs not in power (citizens) see it is all bullshit and insane, like Dershowitz and others.

I am not entertained by the insanity at all, as I realize how serious all the underlying issues are for everyone of us, as well as how and why it has all come to be.

Weed is bad for you, don't you know? Almost 10 years to the day I got flattened by a bolt of lightning, almost had both legs amputated, and hardly slept one good night since then. Medical experts sell me poison with names that wrap half way around the bottle and make me sick. I flushed them down the toilet. Throw seeds on the ground and grow something that helps me sleep?

Oh fucking no, cocksuckers come with guns and toss me in prison and take my house because I'm no good. They'd better hit me real hard or kill me because I get back up, no joke.

I've come to the conclusion that medical experts don't necessarily have the desire or drive to fix issues.  There isn't money in it.

goober's picture

Nope, no money in any of it. all you need do is know how to grow your own remedies and learn what herbs are beneficial for what ? Sometimes weed works but it is not a cure all as some seem to think. There certainly ios a far better way than the standard doctoring thing and what we here in USA call health care ? What a fucking serious bad joke it all is and most are begging for more and willling to pay for it .

Trump really needs to go Roman and clean out the WH staff at least, followed by the other uppity cliques.

He has every right to fire Obama holdovers as security risks.

After all, Obama himself has been undermining Trump at every opportunity so why would his underlings be in any way trustworthy.

There are lots of military personnel and even ordinary Americans like taxi drivers, miners, grocers, and others who would be delighted to work for Trump even if only on a day to day basis.

And they would be far more trustworthy than the DC Swamp residents and professional .gov employees.

There is no shortage of Trump loyalists in America who only have to be identified and a space cleared for them.

The Deep State screwballs are a threat to the existence of America and should be considered traitors unless proven otherwise.

Bigly's picture

I said this months ago. He is stuck in quicksand until he purges. He has not. That will be his downfall, not the stooge msm

Manthong's picture

“Trump really needs to go Roman”

Et Tu, Comey?

Oh gosh yes..

Roman Emperors in the last few centuries of Rome were comparatively short-lived…

..except when they were vicious and had some semblance of purpose.

I do not condone some of the behaviors then…..

Bit damm, we could use some of that now considering that democrats, RINOs, and letist Facist SJWs are the barbarians at the gate.

fleur de lis's picture

One of the reasons Rome was so powerful and lasted as long as it did was that they simply did  not tolerate threats to the State.

The Gauls/French invaded and sacked Rome and they responded by taking all of Gaul/France.

We all know what happened to Carthage after 10 years of wars with them.

They were much more open minded than most people realize, but there were very clear limits.

Social order was paramount, so rebellions were put down harshly and the leaders publically executed.

Treason at the government level was punished swiftly and everyone knew it.

There was a huge rock outcrop in Rome called the Tarpeian Rock, and traitors were sometimes hurled off.

We have lost our ability to identify traitors ever since we were sold by WWilson to the Federal Parasite Reserve, and ever since we have been ruled over by traitors with a smaller controlled group of American loyalists.

At this point we very much mirror Rome's twilight.

Having infested all the nooks and crannies of power, scurrying the back channels of self serving policies, and staying well away from publicity and accountability by lurking in the shadows, we were drawn into two massive world wars on the strength of DC lies, funded foreign revolutions, civil wars, and coups on the strength of DC lies, had a President cut down in broad daylight, saw 3,000 Americans killed in a matter of minutes on 911, endured non-stop false flags, and got drawn into never ending Middle East attacks on the strength of DC lies.

Now we have a President who is putting America first to the best of his ability and the DC liars are spinning their webs again, fearful that they might lose the power that was never rightfully theirs to begin with.

There are too many of them to be fumigated, but those in the WH and in close proximity to it have to be trustworthy beyond question.

Tall Tom's picture

He cannot purge the US Senate and the US House of Representatives.

President Trump was not elected Dictator.

You...IF YOU could have voted out your representative last election....Yeah...You know...The same Representative that chose to vote to have Paul Ryan as Speaker of the House., one of the biggest Swamp Creatures to have EVER BEEN SPAWNED.

Oh. But the other guy had a D behind his name and that made him somehow worse than your guy WHO VOTES TO PUT THAT SWAMP CREATURE INTO THAT POSITION OF POWER.

The hypocrisy on these pages digusts me at times.

Never One Roach's picture

Trump should have fired Comey on Day#1.

He is a total slime bucket and a disgrace to both the fbi and Americans.

Tall Tom's picture

That guy is a insignificant drop in the bucket.

Trump's son in law, Kushner, is OWNED BY SOROS to the tune of a Half a Billion Dollars. And then Trump has him in the White House, advising him. And then Kushner takes advantage so that he can sell US VISAS?

And Kushner needed to be the first person that Trump needed to release.

And then Trump brings in the Goldman Sachs Bankers?

At times President Trump is his own worst enemy.

And the sad truth is that the President does not seem to relaize it.

This is so messed up on so many different levels.

And there are no political solutions to this unfolding nightmare.

opport.knocks's picture

Oh the President realizes it, but he/they are counting on you not realizing it. Both teams are wholly owned sunbsidiaries of the same J-mafia. And all this (Comey, Russia, etc.) act is just David Copperfield political theatre until you realize the Statue of Liberty really has disappeared

I think that you know  better than that.

You know that I am not painting with a wide brush and I am tearing into those who buy into that bullshit Red Team/Blue Team Rah Rah Rah Paradigm.

I am using that to create that mental state of cognitive dissonance. Maybe they will snap out of their TeeVee induced trance if they become too uncomfortable..

Personally writing...

I will not waste any money on this as it is throwing good money after bad money.

I'd allocate funds for preparations for the inevitable, as I have no excess funds to donate to causes which will not be effective or beneficial. I am not rich and especially not that rich.

Of course if you must insist then go for it. I will not tell you how to spend your capital. You are always FREE and have the LIBERTY to do as you please in my book.

goober's picture

I agree with much of your analysis, but also realize the DT admin is likely a last hope event for anybody who beleives in any form of liberties left in USA ? I fully recognize he is not the perfect guy and that there is no perfect guy alive today in the red/blue false paradigm. And DT is not a GOPer. No question we have a lesser of evils event and choices to make. All I know for sure is that I am very thankful and glad Hillary was defeated and made irrelevant. I support him for these reasons that I consider quite obvious given the events of the last 10 years or so. Everythng else is just historical information that is past tense. I know it all goes well past that time frame, but I am living in this current time frame of the present and the events that have taken place and led us up to the current extreme events. We all now know the depth of the massive corruption within our government and that should be our guide and focus to defeat. Beyond that I have no agenda except maintaining my own health, fitness and overall well being via my own training techniques and thinking !

I don't really give a fuck what some think as I know what works and what doesn't and who is who in this zoo we call America today ! It is little more than a giant criminal enterprise funded with our own tax dollars used against us in a myriad of ways 24/7/365 !  Way past time to reduce it all down to the most simple and common denominators and focus on those for any success.

I have said it before and will repeat, many here at ZH get side tracked in their own egos and minutia of distractions, and quasi intellectual dumb shit that passes as sarc ?  just saying what seems beyond obvious.
