Graham Dares Trump: "Holy Hell To Pay if You Fire Sessions"

Tyler Durden's picture

Threat, promise, or red flag to a bull?

After a few days of non-stop tirades against current Attorney-General Jeff Sessions by President Trump, increasing numbers of Republicans are coming out in support of the "beleauered" AG urging Trump to stop.

As Bloomberg reports, a number of Republicans have called White House officials - and even Trump personally - to warn against removing Sessions, according to a Senate GOP aide who asked not to be identified discussing the private conversations. Their message has been that Sessions is universally liked on Capitol Hill and that removing him would be one of Trump’s biggest mistakes as president.

But, just in case the message from senior Republicans was not getting to the President, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina told CNN on Thursday morning...

“If Jeff Sessions is fired, there will be holy hell to pay.”

Graham described as “chilling” a tweet posted by Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley late Wednesday in which the Iowa Republican said there was “no way” his panel would consider the nomination of a replacement for Sessions.

“There will be no confirmation hearing for a new attorney general in 2017,” Graham said.

Graham also warned Trump against any efforts to remove the special prosecutor appointed in the Russia probe, former FBI Director Robert Mueller.

“Any effort to go after Mueller could be the beginning of the end of the Trump presidency,” Graham said on CNN.

Over/Under on Trump's tweet response to Graham's 'threat' is currently 90/120 mins.

The Attorney General is appointed by the President of the United States and takes office after confirmation by the United States Senate. He or she is subject to summary dismissal by the President and impeachment by Congress.

Am I mistaking or does not everybody in the Department of Injustice serve at the pleasure of the POTUS?

It is my understanding that if the President canned Sessions or Mueller and even another 100 Hillobama moles , senator graham cracker’s only recourse would be to try to convince the House to start impeachment proceedings.

..and since firing the whole DOJ is within the purview of POTUS, graham cracker would be SOL.

There are 3 branches of government for a reason.  Why does congress, the one branch that is the least effective at doing what they actually should be doing, think they have the right to influence/threaten the executive branch?

Fuck them.  I was on the fence about Sessions, but if war-monger Graham  is for him, then I'm against him.  Fire his useless ass.

Give Me Some Truth's picture

Sessions can't catch a break these days. There are plenty of well-known fairly well regarded Republican senators who have publicly defended him, but the one senator whose support and quotes grab the headlines is Lyndsay Graham - The one who makes almost everyone outside of SC want to gag.

El Vaquero's picture

While I have no proof, and thus, this is not an allegation, Lyndsay Graham gives off some serious pedophile vibes.

MANvsMACHINE's picture

You don't need proof and you're not alleging anything.  If he gives off these vibes to you, feel free to express it.  These are your personal feelings and are allowed to express them without fear of crossing any legal lines.

He's not catching a break from me, because he is proving to be useless.

Sessions has all the power to actually clean the swamp.  He was delegated that power by Trump, who was delegated that power by me (and you).  You, me and Trump have done our jobs in handing the power to fix this cesspoool to Sessions, who has instead,  fiddle fucked away on bullshit like bitcoin exchanges in foreign countries (BTC-e), drug websites in foreign countries (AlphaBay) and more drug war shit.

I do not have the hard-on for the war on drugs that Sessions has.  I need swamp cleaning.  If he won't do it, Graham's gnashing of teeth should not prevent his replacement.

DRTexas's picture

That's Miss Lindsey Graham to you.

I'm with you Kafir on this one. DEMs and REPUBs are running scared that "one of their own" is about to be fired. THEY ALL SUCK! #TERMLIMITS

Who gives a shit about Lindsay Graham and what he says these days.  He's a non-entity, a jealous infant, angry that a guy like Trump took him apart in the election.  Graham is classic Establishment, they all pat each other on the back while they do a circle jerk.  Trump is a change agant and a man of action.  If one of his appointees turns out not to be the same, they wil be replaced.  Lindsay and his crowd of losers can scream all they want about Trump firing Sessions, or even Mueller, but in the end, if they impeach him his voters will have their say and it won't be prety for RINO's or Dems.

NotApplicable's picture

If you think he's a non-entity, then I think you're forgetting about which branch of the Graham family he's from.

Then again, you sound like you believe that politics is real, given your belief in the power of Trump voters.

At best, you're gonna get a civil war. At worst... who knows what level of collapse they can achieve while blaming it all on Trump and his supporters.

Good luck with that!

Graham Dares Trump: "Holy Hell To Pay if You Fire Sessions"

My response: The DEEP STATE is really sinking their CLAWS of OBEDIENCE into President TRUMP. Unfortunately, this will NOT END WELL.

Lindsey Graham is a DUMB ASS with SHIT FOR BRAINS who is about to unwittingly unleash HELL on America. This GUY needs to STAND DOWN, SHUT UP, LISTEN and LEARN or RETIRE.

Maybe AG Jeff Sessions is a DEEP STATE PLANT (SPY) placed in the TRUMP administration to sabotage the President's agenda. This potential scenario might be why President TRUMP is upset.

My question to AG Sessions: How are you doing on the SETH RICH and HRC criminal investigations? If you want my support and trust, we better see something in these two areas by the end of 2017 assuming you are still in office.

I agree.  Trump should not be intimidated by Congress.  Actually, his approval ratings will go way up if he defies Congress.  There is no reason to play scared for Trump.  He is backed in a corner and his best path is to make ballsy moves whether the Congress likes it or not.  He has nothing to lose and everything to gain.  BTW, I hope he makes good in throwing the transgender crowd out of the military.  As a former Marine, I see no reason to have a bunch of transgender scum in there fucking things up.  If some dude wants to be a girl, then let him do it on his own dime.

as a former air force: one of our standing jokes was from a navy pal, a medic guy. he used to tell us that after three weeks at sea the jarheads would be looking to get something up their butts and the squids would want to blow him. both branches would ask for no kissing, cuz they were straight. "I see no reason to have a bunch of transgender scum in there fucking things up". project much sweetie?

A careful study of FrozenGoodz composition, vocabulary, grammar, syntax, structure, consistency of content, length, the inability to carry out long-form reasoning (The Twitter Effect), and speed of posting says:

A data base and algorithm to discern the likelihood that a poster is really AI is being developed from the information gleaned from handles such as FG and others, which are being compared to see if the statistical probability of a human poster to create copy in a 97% consistent format with all the variables mentioned above, PLUS end up nearly 100% within the first 5 posts - meaning a nonhuman attention to the repetitious refreshing needed to be within a minute or two of the new ZH article going up, points with near-certainty to conclude:

Yeah, the law got thrown out a long time ago. This is a coup, plain and simple, and the coup supporters obviously have no intention of returning to the rule of law once they're done with Trump.
