"Bannon Declares War On The GOP": Key Highlights From His 60 Minutes Interview

Tyler Durden's picture

Steve Bannon appeared on 60 Minutes Sunday night in his first-ever TV interview. The full interview, which Charlie Rose defined as the one in which "Bannon declared war on the GOP", can be watched, with a full transcript, below (link):

Here is Charlie Rose's introduction:

Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, during his brief tenure in the West Wing and his few months as CEO of President Trump's campaign, earned many nicknames among his admirers and his ever-expanding list of enemies. He was the "great manipulator," "Trump's Svengali," "the Grim Reaper," "Propagandist-in-chief."

He describes himself as a "streetfighter." And he proved it in this, his first-ever television interview.  Bannon is back running Breitbart News -- the website where the alt-right and conspiracy theories meet conventional conservatives. The streetfighter, shiv-in-hand came ready to brawl, and not with liberals or Democrats.

... but with the "Republican establishment." For those pressed on time, courtesy of Axios, here are Bannon's most notable quotes, starting with his war with the GOP: "The Republican establishment is trying to nullify the 2016 election. That's a brutal fact we have to face."

  • On 'the establishment': "In the 48 hours after we won, there's a fundamental decision that was made. You might call it the original sin of the administration. We embraced the establishment. I mean, we totally embraced the establishment ... Because ya had to staff a government."
  • On his relationship with the president: "I think I'm a street fighter. And by the way, I think that's why Donald Trump and I get along so well. Donald Trump's a fighter. Great counter puncher. Great counter puncher. He's a fighter. I'm going to be his wing man outside for the entire time, to protect [Trump]" and "to make sure his enemies know that there's no free shot on goal."
  • On Trump's Charlottesville remarks: "I was the only guy that came out and tried to defend him."
  • On the "Swamp": "The Republican establishment is trying to nullify the 2016 election. That's a brutal fact we have to face."
  • On Gary Cohn's critical interview with the Financial Times: "If you don't like what [Trump's] doing and you don't agree with it, you have an obligation to resign."
  • On Republican criticism of Trump's national security strategy: "That's the geniuses of the Bush administration. I hold these people in contempt, total and complete contempt ... They're idiots, and they've gotten us in this situation, and they question a good man like Donald Trump," Bannon said, naming Condoleezza Rice, Brent Scowcroft and Colin Powell.
  • On Economic Nationalism: ""Economic nationalism is what this country was built on. The American system. Right? We go back to that. We look after our own.""
  • On the Russia investigation: "It's a total and complete farce. Russian collusion is a farce."
  • On Trump's tweets: "He knows he's speaking directly to the people who put him in office when he uses Twitter ... [General Kelly's] not going to be able to control it either because it's Donald Trump."
  • On campaign discussions following the Access Hollywood tape's release: "Trump went around the room and asked people the percentages he thought of still winning and what the recommendation. And Reince started off and Reince said, 'You have two choices. You either drop out right now, or you lose by the biggest landslide in American political history.' ... And I told him as he went around, I was the last guy to speak, and I said, 'It's 100%. You have 100% probability of winning.'"
  • On the Catholic Church: "Because unable to really to come to grips with the problems in the church, they need illegal aliens, they need illegal aliens to fill the churches."

*Sigh*

Yet more proof that the R-Team is compromised too.  It looks like...:

"Be your own .gov, buy gold!"

Of course the RINO'S are compromised,  McCain and Ryan are obvious Globalist with others intrest in mind.

What fantastic TV tonight by CR and SB.  The 60MinutesOvertime is just as good btw.  SB's stock just went 20% across the country among Trumps base.  And he might have been able to bring in some new blue libs on board.  He also stuck the wedge deeper between Sanders and Dems on Overtime.

Just a great moment of TV for once. See, a little truth can get you real far in America.

greenskeeper carl's picture

Apparently Bannon is the guy we all thought we were voting for, not trump.

Giving in to the establishment because 'ya gotta staff a government'? Please, how fucking hard are most of those people's jobs? Take one look at the dickless incompetents the 2 previous regimes put into office, and tell me you couldn't grab a semi competent middle manager from any business in the country and expect as good or better job out of them. Half of those jobs don't even need to be filled, anyways. They are just payback postings for supporters and cronies. Why bother filling them? And many of the rest are done by lifelong govt bureaucrats, which you KNOW we could do without just fine.

new game's picture

trumps only mistake(and bannon) was to try a negotiate(appease) with the enemy. the rest is now history. the swamp is vast and well vested to stay in control. it is hopeless imho. i admit i'm on the loosing team. the team with morals and principles. the team that posts hear and denounces the swamp.

but in reality they are winning the fight for the last of the middle class and liberty. sad ending coming as the empire dies when the petro dolla dies. an orchestration by the very psychopaths that rule the swamp.

and they want it all and they will end with nothing.

a glimmer of hope is the repeat of 1789...

GHC… man crush

..if we were only both faggots……

..of course, he would be on top

..just kidding..  but I would be looking to retire if I was illegal’s Ryan, Bitch McConnell, Gramnesty, McStain and their cohorts.

They might have some strings to pull, but Bannon has hawser rope.

Charlie Rose...not journalism, that's advocacy.  Very obvious.

The 1790s were the same game, this time around there are nukes involved. I will say this. I believe there that God exists. I think there will be  a second coming. And like Hemmingway said about how bankrupcy comes about,"Gradually, then very quickly" is how I suspect God may be in the throes of returning for the Apocalypse.  The whole world is completely messed up.  This doesn't end well (even) if you've stacks of silver and gold coins.

I just don't think it ends well with everyone holding hands and singing "Kumbya"

Poor Bannon,

The Families are going to break that guy's heart. The Reset will break America.

Rose got a good smack down from Bannon.

Imagine a vapid fop like Rose trying to lecture anyone about history.

They don't even realize how stupid they sound because they think the whole country defers to them.

The MSM flies into one tizzy after another like cranky old ladies -- arsnic and old lace.

"Pearl clutching media" -- hahaha!!

That sizes them all up.

Rose tried to compensate for his lack of depth by putting on MSM airs and graces, but Bannon would have none of it.

Rose and his MSM playmates need to pull their socks up.

espirit's picture

They need wedgies right before being 'nail-gunned'.

fleur de lis's picture

They need to do some actual research on the subject matter instead of always chanting the NWO script like hypnotised MSM zombies.

Someone like Bannon triggers the MSM hypnotic effect and they start chanting their lines without realizing or hearing what they are saying.

Son of Loki's picture

Rose cheered both Bush and Obama on as they slaughtered millions of innocent people overseas. He never said a peep.

How does he not choke on his own hypocrisy?

fleur de lis's picture

Rose is poorly read and the only reason he is still yammering is because his ilk are just as stupid and therefore do not recognise the need for correction.

Back in 2013 Rose interviewed Assad.

That should have been his easiest interview ever because the MSM and their Swampite handlers had completely smeared Assad, and the audience was conditioned for more official lies.

Even so, Assad came off like a competent, articulate, and coherent professional, whereas Rose was like a baffled schoolboy trying to remember the questions and answers he briefly reviewed the night before.

Like most MSM celebrities, Rose should stick to terra firma and talk about leftist ideas.

At least they might look smart.

Even if they're not.

HardAssets's picture

I could only stand watching & listening to globalist CFR member Rose for about 10 minutes. The guy's tactics are obvious. Another hit piece attempt. I just did a quick read of the transcript instead.

fleur de lis's picture

Rose is overrated.

He talks like the average college protester and just as ill-read.

It's just that he does not scream and carry on like a snowflake.

His genteel image compensates for his lack of knowledge.

He puts on the same air that stupid academians use when they try to convince us that they are smart.

It's all airs, nothing of any substance.

They should all be in Hollywierd.

Freddie's picture

Charlie Rose is tribe.  A named used by Rothschild carpet baggers in the south after the "civil" war to loot the south.

Steve Bannon is a pretty good guy.  I am not neo con pro mic but he was a naval officer and some of those guys are good guys.

I voted for Bannon not Jared Kushner-Soros and his wife.

fleur de lis's picture

Bannon's straight talk is like kryptonite to hypnotized MSM chanting.

Rose held on to his hat fairly well. but most of his MSM ilk would have lost self control.

If Bannon ever went on "The View" his mere presence would turn the women into frantic, screaming, jumping house cats.

If would be worth watching for that alone.

bigkahuna's picture

Their skin would melt off - fangs and claws would show - bony wings would burst out, a portal to hell would open, and they would quickly fly in - screaming all the way down.

fleur de lis's picture

Most MSM yappers are conditioned to the point that any divergent thinking becomes a threat and they react accordingly.

Instead of calmly refuting with facts or well thought out opinions, they get all upset and emotional, lash out and call names, and refer to questionable percentages from their allies.

None of them have a grasp of history other than the NWO version.

If they did any real digging they would find information completely different to what they were told.

At that point they would either

1) have to rethink what they were told

2) retreat into the safety of denial, ignore the new information, and keep chanting the NWO version.

StarGate's picture

Had previously liked Rose.
Now realize he is a charm version (for pseudo intellectual TV watchers) of Big daddy Geo H Bush Sr who is the real version of kiddie hypnotist "Mr.Rogers" (Neighborhood).

TV describes Mr Rogers:
"From the moment he changes into his cardigan and sneakers, youngsters are enthralled. Add in the puppets and marionettes from the Land of Make Believe, and you've got a children's classic."

HRH Feant2's picture

I watched. It was stomach churning. Lispy NY liberals that live in a fucking bubble. Clueless. Absolutely clueless.

The thing about living in NYC is it is infested with rats. The entire place. Imagine Charlie eating at the local NYC place. What happens at night? Rats piss and shit on every counter, crawl through every crack.

Living the nightmare in NYC.

Bay of Pigs's picture

My take? Rose is a fucking hack who would be chewed up and spit out like a common troll by most of you veteran ZHers.

II wonder how many tank divisions field marshal Bannon commands. This is all so rediculously overhyped you'd think it was The Weather Channels coverage of hurricane Irma.

greenskeeper carl's picture

What makes you think he needs any? This cold war right now is mostly being fought with ideas. Ideas which the establishment is trying desperatly to bury, which is a losing battle.

HRH Feant2's picture

Yep. The harder they crack down the more people wake up. Shutting down Twatter and Utube accounts for no reason. Demonetizing accounts. People are waking up to the reality that the assholes in Silicon Valley do not give a fuck about them. Commiefornia and Silicon Valley are filled with the exact same totalitarian filth that infested East Germany and which allowed the Stasi to terrorize an entire country.

If you have not seen an older movie, "The Lives of Others," please do. Highly illustrative of how people lived in East Germany under the Stasi. What the NSA and Silicon Valley have now would make the Stasi drool.

The more the technocrats crack down on people the more people wake up.

I try to stay awake, aware, alert. Hat tip to you! Stay safe!

BobEore's picture

This cold war right now is mostly being fought with ideas.

You are correct/

Ideas, however, do not 'take wing' without considerable "backing"... and backing Bannon is a phalanx of moneymen whose short n sweet description can be accurately summarized as ...

Srael-firsters. Err... that kinda rules out "America firsters" fanboyz! A FACT which most all die-harder MAGA(or "MAGGOTS" as they will be fondly remembered)Munckhins here try very hard to forget/overlook/pretend not to exist. Reality, however will continue to "storm surge' over their fantasy island, blowing showers of random facts bout Breitbart and its' financier, sionist wingnut billionaire Robert Mercer, for instance... of whom I warned, before he transferred from Cruz to Drumpf backer...

"Cue Robert Mercer - whose daughter Rebekah serves on the board of Breibart's Government Accountability Institute - a group which serves up the stories which will support, or derail, the campaigns of many political hopefuls. There is some serious money behind Breibart and it's growing ambitions - some say $10 million of Mercer's money is already invested."

Which makes the pathetic attempts on these pages to somehow separate Drumpf...Bannon... and the "alt-right" from their sionista backers and controllers an every greater farce than most would already realize...

having cottoned on to the fact that Bannon(the Goldmanite who was graduated from financial to political operative and pretend opponent of the mothership)took over and remade Breitbart as a direct media voice of Nuttyahoos' foreign policy directives and culture war mouthpiece.

And the zheeple lap it all up, eager to re-pin the hopes that even they know now were misplaced upon the shoulders of Roy Cohn protege, & Epstein good buddy Drumpf onto the new messiah Stevie ... blind to all reason, self interest, self-preservation even...

a ship o fools dying to get drowned in the hurricane of sionist agitprop as blown around by 'alt-media' sites whose owners and creators mysteriously always seem to be tribalists underneath all the trappings.

But at least they haven't "lost their buttons." Yet.

TO YUR BUTTONS MUTTONS! INVADER! aTTaCk AttAcK!

Adore him. He grew up in integrated area. That means government forced section 8 and FHA housing on whites without the means to fight it. Only done to white neighborhoods, never Jewish.

So he called out upper east side (Jewish and Wasp) and Hamptons (Jewish) and pointed out their reality not same as his. He was in military. How many people who attack him ever grew up as he did, seeing his neighborhood destroyed.

I saw that growing up. It changes you. Makes you a race realist. And a realist in general. As does foolishly joining military and learning they could care less if you live. And that trannies and incompetent affirmative hires put in positions of power means more than a white mans life.

No more Mr. Nice Goy

BarkingCat's picture

What do you mean "forced section 8"?

As far as I know,  the landlord has to sign up his property for section 8 and the live by their rules.

I have a rental property and after it sat empty for about a month my property manager suggested we get it into section 8 (because he had a possible tenant that was section 8).

After reading all the details, I decided against it. Not worth the hassle ....especially when you consider the caliber of clientele.

......but being forced into section 8??  Seems unlikely to me.

IntTheLight's picture

It's mandated in some locales. And once forced busing started, whites pulled kids out of schools. Everyone can't move at once as housing collapses, so it is forced through basic economics. You can't sell the home so you are forced into taking section 8. And they will sue if you won't take it.

But as I said, some places mandate you must take section 8.

If you haven't seen your entire neighborhood, then surrounding neighborhoods fall, you won't and can't understand. And count yourself lucky.

Love Gays -
However,
when Obama placed a Gay man with NO military training or experience in charge of the US Army...
Looked up his Facebook account - as he suggested.
Had a pic of him in cheerleading outfit with Pom-poms.

The paragraph for the pic discussed Obama's goals for the US Military:
Chief goal: "Add more Transgenders to US Military"

Chief goal...
Now USA's Navy can't outrun floating barges.

I knew not much more than his name about Bannon.

I actually turned on the TV to watch Charlie Rose's tainted 'interview'.

Wow, Mr. Bannon is a genuine force.

I am totally on his side, agree with everything he so expertly espoused.

In spite of the hurricane shutters Rose tried to erect, he was destroyed.

Rose's alcoholic elitist/controlling/socialist babbling was pathetic.

I'm glad I watched, I know know of a genuine "good guy".

GO BANNON!

Ah, maybe I misunderstand, but I don't think that the Republicans kill their political enemies...  At least to the same extent as the Democrats do.
