White House Says Trump's "Calm Before The Storm" Comment Is "Extremely Serious"

Tyler Durden's picture

Following President Trump's "calm before the storm" comments last night, reporters tried to ask him once again what he meant today, to which he responded "you'll see." However, during The White House Press Briefing, Sarah Sanders replied to questions suggesting the President's comments were "extremely serious," however without offering an explanation.

When asked if Trump was referring to military action when he said "calm before the storm." Sarah Sanders replied "We're never going to say in advance what the president's going to do. You'll have to wait and see."

Then, in a follow up question "how seriously should America's public or America's adversaries take these comments", the White House press secretary said "I think you can take the president protecting the American people always extremely seriously. He's been very clear that that's his number one priority."

Earlier in the day, Trump continued the cryptic mystery: shortly after signing a manufacturing executive order, a reporter asked what he meant when he said that a gathering of military leaders at the White House the evening before was "the calm before the storm," U.S. President Donald Trump did not elaborate, and said again, "You'll find out."

And then he winked.

I am certain that the whole world waits with held breath to see what the mad American king and his court of tin-soldier jesters decides to bomb next.  U.S. foreign policy is the equivalent of a hurricane: create a cyclone of destruction at some point in the world; destroy the communications systems, infrastrucure, and homes; murder tens of thousands of people, and then disappear until the next storm is blown somewhere by the whims of the jetstream.  I have no idea how the U.S. has any allies remaining.  A foreign policy comprised of random bombings is not really a policy at all: just random destruction.

I say move Muslims to internment camps. Now. Also, put the screws to Canada and keep them pinned down as their PM is a Muslim who said the Vegas was don by white supremacists and whites are the problem. The Canada PM is an ISIS spokesman.

Brazen Heist's picture

Wrong diagnosis. We should be moving the Shadow Government of white collar criminal cowards to internment camps instead.

Stick 5 in there. Stockpile the cheapest dog food kibbles you can find to feed them. Say, 1 cup per day per person. Plus some cheap broth plus water.

Look back to the creation of the petro dollar. Who do you think has all the money. What do you think the deal was? ISIS=Islam=ShadowGov. Sure there are others, but all is controlled by money. Bought and paid for. The love of money is the root of all evil.

I stand by my diagnosis.

If this was December 8, 1941, but with the forces at play today the newspapers would have us convinced that in a rare fluke, multiple lone wolf crazies, probably deranged church alter boys, with airplanes bombed pearl harbor. Then demand the President shut down churches and call upon massive boatloads of Japanese to help rebuild.

Americans can't see what their country has become. America is now the evil empire raining death from the skies and issuing dire threats every day. We live in a world of continual fear , instability and anxiety waiting to see who gets bombed next.

Now we have a totally irresponsible mad man winking and grinning his way into the next slaughter.

At home it is looking more and more like Blade Runner with the streets a battle ground.

I see no way back.

The rogue US regime, Pentagon, CIA are behind most of the terrorists they claim to be fighting.

The "war on terror" is a canard.

There is just greed and blowback.

Sure, "ISIS" did it.  That's just an arbitrary label the regime has placed on their army of proxy terrorists, so I suppose you're right in a sense.

The brink of god knows what and the Dow falls 3 points. A true testimonial to the fact that:

1. The markets are fixed and being run by someone wise mouth is a cock holster for trump, or

2. The markets are absolutely sure that the president is an embecile and they don’t believe a f’n things he said are true.

No other options. Under any other president, the markets are down 10%.

Harry Lightning's picture

Because the markets know that if the shit hits the fan with Korea, it will be over in about 30 minutes.

If you realy want to know if something is going to happen in Korea, keep track of the prices of the Iodide pill manufacturers. I would think they should be getting some huge orders in advance of any hostility.

I wonder how many people in the US would actually cheer if D.C. were wiped away.

I guess Trump's rhetoric about draining the swamp and being against the establishment is bullshit.  Not to mention, the "fake news" he loves to bash is one of the reasons he won.  Their seeming overwhelming opposition.  It's now seeming more like reverse psychology, where a popluation sick of the "establishment" and their propaganda were jewed just the same by flipping the script.

On thing I think we can say for sure is that the a-hole from CNN will be the last person who finds out about whatever Trump has planned. He'll be hearing it from Fox who got it from Breitbart, after which time he'll be giving it to NBC. I am surprised the White House still allows reporters from CNN, NBC, Wapo and the NY Times into the building. I wouldn't.

I am not at all happy with the smugness of Trump when talking about this being the calm before the storm. A leader should never exude overconfidence before leading his troops into battle. It sets a bad tone for the troops, and gives the enemy a reason to get fired up. Cautious and quiet resolve is the face a leader shows before the fireworks begin.

historian40's picture

"A leader should never exude overconfidence before leading his troops into battle."

He won't be "leading" shit.  When did they become "his"?  When did the Legislature declare war, which is the only time the Executive may act in the role of Commander in Chief.  It's not a permanent title.

"It sets a bad tone for the troops,"  You know what really sets a bad tone?  When the Executive usurps the power to declare war, and treats these men/women who joined to defend the nation off to fight a war of aggression that is without Constitutional legitimacy.  Especially since each and every one of them swore to uphold and defend the Constitution.  How many have to come back and feel so guilty they kill themselves before people realize they're not really "supporting the troops" by allowing this.

Trump may find himself in an electric chair or on a firing squad alongside the rest of the despots who have been violating the Constitution and leading the US into desolation.  Better yet, since the jews consider beheading the most humane form of capital punishment, perhaps we'll go with that.

Okay, down-voters, would it finally get through if the despot tore up the Constitution or took a steaming shit on it?  It's what might as well be happening as is, but I guess you can't see that.

Five white conservative cops executed during a peaceful BLM march in
Dallas. Lone wolf no explanation ever given. Conservative white
congressman shot during baseball game. Lone wolf no explanation ever
given. Now ~600 white conservatives shot by lone wolf during country
music festival in Las Vegas. No explanation given. There's a lot more
going on here than our very corrupt government wants to admit.
And now they want to disarm the evil conservatives?

I have a simple tip to reduce media induced piss-offs. I find it useful and a time saver.

Derive the subtext of the article first. That is, how is the article trying to manipulate you (sure and it's rarely intended to actually inform you).  Imagine it as an actual print header over the article.

Only then decide to read it or not.

I.E.:

Those Bastards (HATE)

Those Greedy Bastards (HATE)

Those Rich Greedy Bastards (HATE) (ENVY) (OUTRAGE)

Those Bastards are Fucking us (ANGER)

Vote for Me and I'll keep the Bastards from Fucking Us (HOPE)

Those Wacky Nazis (HATE)

Those Wacky Gays (OUTRAGE)

Those Wacky Arabs (HATE)

Those Wacky Democrats/Republicans (OUTRAGE) (ANGER)

Those Silly Yurps  (OUTRAGE)

Those poor Negroes/Mexicans/Poor People (GUILT) (OUTRAGE)

Read This if you Want to Live (FEAR)

Labcoat says Stuff is Bad (FEAR)

Labcoat says Stuff is good (HOPE)

Give Us Money/Votes or Bad Stuff will Happen (FEAR)

Michael Moore/Hillary says Something (NAUSEA) (HATE) (PITY) (SLEEP)

And ignore entirely any article containing the words "Trump" or "Gun". It is without content.

Et cetera.

You see the concept.

Actually you can further distill it down to just Those Bastards, the weather report and cute dog/cat stories.

We need an AI app to actually insert these in news reports as a header. I'd buy it. It'd make a refreshing wabsite.

You know what needs to be done.

This technique has revealed to me that actual news/useful data, as opposed to manipulatory crap, is perhaps two percent of the Media flow. If that.

...

It works. Try it. It will help preserve your sanity.

Such constant vigilance is required to prevent garbage ideas from filling your head.
