Roy Moore Denies "Completely False" Teen Sex-Abuse Allegations, Has "Evidence Of Collusion"

Tyler Durden's picture

"It never happened... If you abuse a 14-year-old you shouldn't be a Senate candidate. I agree with that," Moore said. "But I did not do that."

In his first interview since the Washington Post published the explosive allegations regarding his sexual misconduct with a 14-year-old girl in 1979, Moore - the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate in Alabama - appeared on Sean Hannity's radio show Friday. The former Alabama Supreme Court justice told the host that:

“These allegations are completely false and misleading,” Moore said.

“But more than that, it hurts me personally because, you know I’m a father. I have one daughter. I have five granddaughters. And I have a special concern for the protections of young ladies. This is really hard to get on radio and explain this. These allegations are just completely false.”

“I don’t know Ms. Corfman from anybody," Moore said.

As The Hill reports, The Washington Post also reported allegations from three other women, who said they were underaged when Moore pursued romantic or sexual relationships with them, and another woman who said he provided her alcohol when she was underaged. In the interview, Moore did not deny the possibility he dated women who were younger than 18 when he was in his 30s, but pointed out that most of the women in their accounts to the newspaper do not claim inappropriate sexual behavior.

“Obviously there was never any sexual activity ... the behavior was altogether appropriate according to them,” he said.

Moore acknowledged that he remembers two of the women named in the report: Debbie Wesson Gibson, who was 17 in her account, and Gloria Thacker Deason, who was 18 at the time of her alleged relationship with Moore.

He said he does not remember whether he dated either of them, but does not recall "specific dates."

“This was 40 years ago and after my return from the military, I dated a lot of young ladies," he said.

When asked if he remembered dating any woman who was in her late teens while he was a 30-something, Moore said, “not generally, no" and that it would be "out of my customary behavior."

“I don’t remember that, and I don’t remember ever dating any girl without the permission of her mother," he added.

“I knew her as a friend; if we did go out on dates then we did, but I do not remember that," he said of Gibson, who called her relationship with Moore “inappropriate” in hindsight to The Washington Post, due to their age difference.

Deason “believes she was younger than 19,” the legal drinking age in Alabama at the time, when Moore would order her alcohol on dates, she told the newspaper. Moore disputed that.

“As I recall she was 19 or older,” he said.

“I remember her as a good girl.”

Intriguingly, Moore then told Hannity that they "have some evidence of collusion" but are not ready to release that to the public just yet...

Following the interview, Moore released a full statement:

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — On Friday afternoon Judge Roy Moore issued a statement responding to the Was hington Post's baseless attacks on his character:

"Yesterday. I made a statement that the allegations described in a Washington Post article against me about s exual impropriety were false.

"It has been a tough 24 hours because my wife and I were blindsided by an article based on a lie supported by innuendo.

"It seems that in the political arena, to say that something is not true is simply not good enough.

"So let me be clear

"I have never provided alcohol to minors, and I have never engaged in sexual misconduct. As a father of a daughter and a grandfather of five granddaughters, I condemn the actions of any man who engages in sexual misconduct not just against minors but against any woman.

"I also believe that any person who has been abused should feel the liberty to come forward and seek protection.

"I know that a lot of people wonder why this story was written. Why would women say these things if they are not true? I can't fully answer that because as much as I have disagreed vehemently on political issues with many people over the years, I cannot understand the mentality of using such a dangerous lie to try to personally destroy someone.

"As a former Judge and administer of the law, I take the protection of our innocent as one of my most sacred callings. False allegations are gravely serious and will have a profound consequence on those who are truly harassed or molested.

"I strongly urge the Washington Post, and everyone involved, to tell the truth.

"That is all we can do. and I trust that the people of Alabama, who know my record after 40 years of public service, will vouch for my character and commitment to the rule of law."

Finally, AP reports that the Alabama Secretary of State has confirmed that it is too close to the vote for the Moore's name to be removed from the ballot.

This does sound a bit fishy

The RINOs could not come up with something crazy like a pick-up with a Confederate Flag and  Roy Moore sticker on the bumper running over Mexicans, Muslims and black kids.

Fake rape or assault charges are the next best thing.

bigdumbnugly's picture

yep, going with whatever is currently in the news cycle.

Elsewise the sheep won't pay attention.

Aw heck…..

We all abused teens in our yutes….

Especially the Bezo’s WaPo folks……………………………..

bigdumbnugly's picture

yeah, i'm dam glad i didn't get into politics (or the movies for that matter).

Though it would be nice to see how they all look nowadays...

Dutti's picture

They only waited 38 years to come out with a story which they expect to lead to the result that Judge Roy Moore will lose against the Dem. nominee.

The Dems and the establishment Repubs would be happy to see the guy who is supported by the anti establishment (Steve Bannon etc.)  go down in flames.

However I hope that the good people of Alabma will see through these shenanigans and vote for Moore even more forcefully.

Gap Admirer's picture

Back in the 1990's, I believe, Barney Franks (D- Mass) was caught running a gay prostitution business in his D.C. residence.  He won re-election after that.

I believe that last second allegations against Judge Moore are false, partially because this is standard democrat playbook. The double standard is mind boggling.  I guess if it was a man accusing Moore of sex with him as a minor 40 years ago the Post would be praising him?  "Yea Barney Franks!!"

IH8OBAMA's picture

“... and I don’t remember ever dating any girl without the permission of her mother,"

What?  Who asks a girls mother if it's OK to date her daughter?  It's hard enough getting a date with a pretty girl for most of us by just asking the girl!

If Moore double crossed Bannnon he will be so sorry.

Dancing Disraeli's picture

If this out of the blue 40 year old unsubstantiated accusation successfully defeats this candidate, then one would assume it will be utilized EVERY single time a Bannon-supported candidate runs for office.

No big deal. They all just kissin’ cousins anyway in those parts.

Apparently there are recordings of one of the WAPO propagandists offering another woman $1000 to accuse Moore.

Supposedly going to the Etowah county DA with this info, not the FBI because they are completely compromised.

We'll see how this pans out:

Yeah, I really want to hear that recording if it exists.

Roy Moore Denies "Completely False" Teen Sex-Abuse Allegations, Has "Evidence Of Collusion" Republican Senatorial Committee Cuts Off Roy Moore's Funding

My response: These charges against Roy Moore are PURE and UNMITIGATED BULLSHIT!!!!

Planned Parenthood and deep state (IC, RINOS & DEMOCRATS) probably behind this CRAP.

Roy Moore is an honorable man above this sort of stuff!!!!!!

The DEEP STATE DESPOTS are a bunch of GUTLESS WONDERS who should be put out of business permanently.

SATAN and his DEMONS are working OVERTIME.

Escrava Isaura's picture

Easy there cowboy. Satan doesn’t exist.

There are all kinds of lies. Your posts ‘exaggerations’ are good examples.

In the case of Moore his lie is to save face.

Moore is in a tough spot.

And, most likely, actually, very likely, these women are telling the truth.

Gap Admirer's picture

"In the case of Moore his lie is to save face."

So you are claiming to have been there to witness what Judge Moore did? You know that he is telling lies?

Escrava Isaura's picture

Ironically, because if it was a Hollywood actor facing the same accusation, you and 99.99% of the Hedgers would call the actor a pedophile and his mother a whore, if not something worse.

But, on the politician case, you and 99.99 of Hedgers come to his defense.

Defending a politician? It doesn't get sleazier than that, honey.

I don’t trust either, but, if I had to pick between the two, I’ll take the actor.

At least I’ll know that he’s lying because the actor will change the subject. The politician will keep trying to convince me that he’s innocent.

PrintemDano's picture

This accuser is a hard core leftist, worked for Hillary and other demonic democrats.  She has motivation to lie.  The actors and actresses are going off on their own ......wake up.....

So let's see, guy's in public office over 40 years. Running in various elections, opponents always looking for dirt, nothing comes out. Nothing comes out until the establishment, both Dem and Rep, feel threatened. And you believe it. I can't believe anyone would believe it. But you believe it. Unbelievable.

Escrava Isaura's picture

I am not saying that Moore and Spacey are bad people. I don’t care, and don’t know them.

The issue here is that this situation feels too abstract, because we don’t know the details. And we might never know.

By nothing knowing the details, most humans have a tendency to create what they believe happened. And that’s stupid, because now they’re introducing all kinds of biases.

That’s the problem of talking abstractly, we never get to a conclusion. Then, if the facts surface later on, they’ll either be disregard or they’ll be abused.

Don’t take my word for it. Read Miffed Microbio... post below. She touched all these matters in four paragraphs.

ggm's picture

So far none of the Hollywood perverts have denied the allegations against them.

The timing is what makes this particular claim suspect. The October surprise sex smear is an age-old campaign tactic which is why the accuser will be more heavily scrutinized now than if she had come forward 6 months ago or 6 months in the future.

Sanity Bear's picture

How much more obvious does it have to be that this was made up out of whole cloth? Are you that stupid, or do you think others are?

Gap Admirer's picture

OK, I accept that you were not there so you have no idea whether he is lying or not.  As a good, honorable, socialist, you may retract your "he's lying" statement now.

ScratInTheHat's picture

Never call anyone “Honey” while you have that Marxist dildo up your ass! It’s FN disgusting!

robobbob's picture

when you make your career out of swimming in a cess pool known as the entertainment business, when you have a constant murmur of creepy sleaziness surrounding you, when the accusers have nothing to gain, or perhaps much to lose from coming forward, then yes, the accusations are easy to believe

when you spend a lifetime in public office, living and espousing the highest of ethical standards, willing to be fired, censured, and removed from office for standing by your principles, having provided decades of ample opportunity for wronged persons to step forth with their accusations, then yes, 11th hour finger pointing at a moment of the greatest crises for the establishments crumbling power structure would love nothing more to destroy this man, then yes, it is easy to have serious doubts about the truth of the entire story.

the US is in the death throes of a fatal corruption. this is one of the people fighting to loosen that grip. do you not find it amazingly convenient that these charges have appeared out of thin air just in time to save the Establishment from a humiliating defeat?

AnyaArisohn's picture

Of course they’ll convince you they’re innocent. I mean, if constituents were dumb enough to vote for the BS heard on the campaign trail, then it’s safe to say you can pretty much convince them of anything!

Actors, ACT. Their job is literally ‘fooling’ the audience to portray someone else. And they do it very well.... So much so, that you’d pick a professional liar to trust over a politician? And write a comment admitting it...

I know, I know. Low hanging fruit... lolz

The Jaguar's picture

You are the liar, you always have been mr moocher. Why does your weenie liberal brain find sadomasochistic pleasure from being constantly laughed at and made to look a fool on here dolt?

Oldwood's picture

Where has there been ANY such claims made of his behavior in the last thirty years. If this was his character, do you not think there would be contemporary cases? And you are convinced that these are factual claims ONLY after they have been made TWO WEEKS before a vote with NO chance of adequate rebutal. Even if it were true, this is some evil manipulative SHIT and given those circumstances and the relative tame charges made...((.asking for a date?) Where's Woody Allen?) I would vote for him regardless.

There are no bounds for the evil these progressive fucks will do....we must END THEM. VOTE THESE ASSHOLES OUT!!

Escrava Isaura's picture

The same can be said of Kevin Spacey.

It sounds like that both Spacey and Moore didn’t have sex. I guess both knew that they were doing something wrong so they never had the guts to really push it.

In any event, it’s embarrassing because these are TV personalities. And illegal because involved minors.

Also, because it happened in the US. US is a very religious nation.

If these were to happen in France or Italy, they would be laughing about. What? Politicians and actors supposed to be angels?

pippi68's picture

No loser, Kevin Spacey is a different deal. The Roy Moore story is one unproven allegation from 38 years ago. Kevin Spacey has them piling up from the set of "House of Cards" and substantiated from multiple witnesses and victims. And was a visitor to Epstein's private statutory rape island. Your being disingenuous. Anyway why should any of us care about the laughter from idiots in france and italy? The EU has become an islamic rapist's paradise. So yeah, no wonder sex with children is tolerated there.

Oldwood's picture

Spacey has a long history of this crap going back decades....well known.

Moore, no one has heard anything about this for forty years until two weeks before an election?

You try SO hard to sound intelligent and credible in your constant learned recitals of progressive dogma and then you totally blow it with this ignorance and transparent politic.

Miffed Microbiologist's picture

I agree. The timing is completely inappropriate and if there was something to be resolved, it should have been done long ago. At this point it should be left alone.

I'm very conflicted on this whole issue. I had a relationship with a 32 year old man when I was 15. It was not sexual, just hand holding and kissing. He wanted to escalate it but I said no. I was a virgin and wasn't ready for that. He eventually asked me to marry him. His mother told me she loved me as a daughter and if I accepted, she would be honored to have me as part of their family. I was way over my head. He was a good, decent man but I didn't love him. I really didn't know what love was.

The terrible part was he worked for my dad. When my mother found his letters to me she insisted he fire him for inappropriate behavior. She accused me of having a sexual relationship with him and didn't believe my denials. It all went to hell. I was given an ultimatum. Go with him and be disowned. My mom insisted we move to Spokane in part to get me away from him. The funny thing was I met Mr in high school in Spokane and he asked me to marry him when I was 16. I agreed at 22 and his mother promptly disowned him for doing so. I guess I was just destined to be off the market soon but Mr had more courage than I.

I think judge Moore did these things. He flirted with a line but didn't cross it. I give him a pass. However I believe now that he has daughters he can see how difficult it is for a young girl to have such attention from someone so much older. You have a physically mature body but the mental maturation just isn't there yet.

Miffed

Oldwood's picture

It's a dodgy line that has moved a lot over the years.

What is so odd to me is that I grew up in the free love sixties and seventies and saw NONE of the blantant sexualism on display today, yet we somehow claim moral outrage at an older man making relatively passive advances at very young girls and the world is in shock. How long ago was it that Woody Allen married his adopted daughter? And then we have IDIOTS comparing Moore to Spacey. Incredible.

I believe all of this is a sham by the progressives. Political Correctness elevated to a full blown weapon.

We saw it begin with women's rights, advance to blacks, then illegals, then sexual deviancy and now ANY sexual act that can be interpreted as "inappropriate".

I listen to news broadcasts today where they refer to Moore accused of at least FOUR sexual assaults, when at best you could only consider one an assault. I don't think consensual kissing, or asking their mother if he can have a date is assault.

And OT a bit, but what's up with sexual assault? Is it intercourse, groping, touching, leering, unwanted phone calls? WTF is it?

Ms No's picture

Woody molested his other 7yo daughter before the one that he married.  Being that pedophiles don't change, he must be really unhappy with this.  He deserves to be unhappy.

SheHunter's picture

The truth is that most of us did some stupid crap at some point in our lives.  So maybe Roy dated a minor and they boinked with mutual boinking agreement...WTF.  Show me one of these self-righteous accusers who never ever ever did anything a little on the edge of our society's norm.  frickin' hypocrits.

Ms No's picture

I try to look at things from all perspectives.  Now reverse your youth situation around and imagine yourself at 32 prowling around highschools for a 15 year old boy to date?  Gross huh?  You would never even consider doing something like that.  Who does shit like that?  Could you imagine how you and your husband would respond to some 32 year old co-worker of his coming and asking to date your daughter?  Ewe....  serious ass kicking time.

Miffed Microbiologist's picture

Completely agree. Our eldest was prowled by a 30 year old neighbor when she was 15 ( boy was I reliving my past but this guy just wanted a young girl to seduce) . We explained to her to NEVER be alone with this guy.

One day I came home and Mr explained he gave " Daniel" the Talk. He explained to him when a rose is covered with aphids you don't get a judge and jury to decide their fate. You crush those motherfuckers with your fingers. They are destroying your rose and must be dealt with immediately. Daniel protested he had no such intention and Mr miffed said that was fine but once a line was crossed he would not be shown any mercy. For 10 years until he moved away, Daniel was an exemplary neighbor.

There is no way at 30+ I'd go for a 15 year old boy. At 56 if I lost my husband I wouldn't consider dating anyone under 50. Just simply not appropriate. That is simply someone at a different life stage you should respect.
