Geopolitical Tsunami: Pax Americana, Petrodollar, & The Coming Crisis In The Gulf

Tyler Durden's picture

It’s easy to get lost in all things Middle East, especially concerning the chaotic events that unfolded over the weekend in Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.

Three days after the most stunning purge in recent Saudi history - which was really a countercoup, that led to the arrest of dozen of Saudi Arabian royals, ministers and businessmen to further the control of the Kingdom - Saudi Arabia called Yemen’s missile launch on Riyadh an ‘act of war’ by Iran, and also played victim by saying Lebanon has declared war against the Kingdom.

How to make sense of this all?

An author on twitter by the handle Black Pigeon Speaks beautifully outlines today’s events in an easy to understand video titled: PAX AMERICANA, PetroDollar & the Coming CRISIS in the GULF…

The author of the video focuses on the Middle East and says a perfect storm is gathering upon the horizon, as the whole world is changing and the only way to change it for the better is to understand the world around you.

The video opens up with a brief understanding of the stunning purge in Saudi Arabia and how it has cleared any potential obstacles for King Salman’s son ascension to the throne.

This was done by a widespread arrest of royals, ministers and businessmen who have large sums of money and control key parts of the economy and parts of the military. Such an unorthodox move is bound to force internal conflict with-in the country that could very well spillover.

In the next section, the author says “this comes all at a time of seeming change for the Kingdom”. Allowing women to drive was merely a window dressing event and the real issue is the country’s economic transition away from oil. The problem resides around the world’s most generous social welfare systems of which most citizens do not work. The money transfer from state to citizens is similar to the United States social programs, but the objective in Saudi Arabia has been to sedate the populace from expressing any collective opposition to the kingdom. It is easy to understand how fragile the house of Saud really is….

Moreover as what was highlighted by the recent arm sales via the Trump administration. The country is armed with the most technological weapons in the world, as it has completely abandoned the line of succession through a stunning weekend purge.

The idea that Saudi Arabia is trying to cement a new era for the kingdom at the expense of those who have been purged could pose serious problems. And how the author puts it, “you have a recipe for civil war– for two reasons:

  • Those who have been purged will claim they’ve a legitimate claim to power. These individuals are very wealthy and have the means to buy mercenary armies to fight for their claim
  • Breakdown of the social welfare program

The outlook for Saudi Arabia is bleak and in our view, the conditions are perfect for a civil war. The probability of an expansionist war also increases as the kingdom has Iran and Lebanon in its crosshairs.

Salman the "Zionist" will have BiBi doing his fighting and bidding for him as a cover up. Please understand, the Saudi army is mostly Pakistanis and paid mercenaries in the name of Aloha Akbar.

“the objective in Saudi Arabia has been to sedate the populace from expressing any collective opposition to the kingdom”

Awshit… the US has solved that problem since they displaced the Taliban who outlawed poppy production in Afghanistan over 15 years ago.

It's considered an epidemic in the US now… but it could be exported to Saudi to sedate the restless populace.

Things have taken a turn for the WORSE in Saudi-US relations since Congress passed that stupid Sept 11 Bill to please Israhell.

Hence, the coming tsunami with the death of the petrodollar, made in Israhell.

I've been saying that, on here and elsewhere, for a long time. The moment they are unable to afford their lavish welfare state with crumbs from their table, their heads all wind up on pikes. The arrogance and laziness of most saudi's is a sight to behold. The Bahrainis are the same way. None of the Sunnis work. They import foreign slave labor from poor countries to do everything, treat them like shit, pay them next to nothing, and then send them home. Enough of them getting sick of it could be a problem too.

Socratic Dog's picture

None of the Sunnis work?  Indonesia is the most populous muzzie nation on earth, all Sunni, and I doubt very much you could accuse those buggers of knowing nothing about work.

Gulf ayrabs are a different breed.  The curse of mineral wealth.

Sokhmate's picture

I saw more capitalism in Indonesia than in Murica. Everyone and their mother, literally, run their own business, no matter how humble or puny. Happy people Masters of their destiny

Socratic Dog's picture

Yep.  Same in Africa, funnily enough.  You want to learn about true capitalism, go visit a 3rd world country.  Usually known as shitholes on the Hedge.  We could learn from them.

I found the Bahrain guys to be completely different from the Saudis, at least that was my impression.

In Bahrain their engineers actually worked, they were not figure heads sipping tea like accross the causeway.

I worked in KSA several years. What we said about the Saudis was "you could put one of them in a lockled padded room with two ball bearings. He's lose one, and break the other." Sure, they might have pissed away billions buying the best weapons ever designed and built. Fat chance they'll be able to maintain or use them.

uhland62's picture

That's my impression of Arabs, too, and that's why Iranians give you a hiding if you take them for being Arabs. But Saudi will obviously buy soldiers of fortune. I cannot them bombarding Yemen themselves, they just ring the US base in Qatar to send a plane with Saudi markings and a bomb with Iranian markings. There are millions of unemployed adventurous young males everywhere who have no livelihoods and have no trouble killing other people including children.

PAX AMERICANA???? That died with the Iraq invasion. 'Mission accomplished' they announced - how ironic  that they thought killing Saddam was the mission when we now know that the mission had a life of its own 'Mission accomplished - PAX AMERICANA ended".

as reported on ZH before:

(From a Lockheed employee in Saudi Arabia). "During the pilot transition program with the KV-107 and C-130 with Lockheed, we found that most Saudi pilot trainees had very limited night vision, even on the brightest of moonlit nights.

Their training retention rate was minimal including maintenance personnel. Some had dim memories and had to be constantly reminded of things that were told to them the day before. An American, British or any other western instructor is burned out pretty quick. It actually took Muslim C-130 pilots years before they could fly in the dark safely and then would be reluctant to leave the lights of a city.

Disastrous Results of Muslim Inbreeding: Nikolai Sennels is a Danish psychologist who has done extensive research into a little-known problem in the Muslim world: the DISASTROUS RESULTS of MUSLIM INBREEDING brought about by the marriage of first cousins. This practice, which has been prohibited in the Judeo-Christian tradition since the days of Moses, was sanctioned by Muhammad and has been going on now for 50 generations (1,400 years) in the Muslim world. This practice of inbreeding will never go away in the Muslim world, since Muhammad is the ultimate example and authority on all matters , including marriage.

total BS!!!

i travelled alot in the ussa and saw stuff?

for example: in the early decade of 2000 i stayed at one 'MOTEL' that lodged 75-100 Pakistanian pilots --- they would eat breakfast in selected [rank and purpose] groups with superiors close by in Uniforms? They never talked, never laughed or conversed--- strictly military business on the QT. there was a strategic military airforce base just a few miles away to which they were bused. pickup was quick with buses arriving in fifteen minutes scheduled intervals [as was in the evening]. until all were gone for the day.

mind you, this was of interest to me? after finnishing my breakfast and following their departured, i queried the 'Innkeeper' (whom by the way was the owner of this particular franchise chain) who ironically happened to be Indian... and asked quite bluntly who and why these Pakistani Flight (emphasis added?) Tranees were. He chuckled and aswered with full discloser saying,--- they're being trained and certified as pilots for [arial] aircraft, being Cargo (C-) Planes, Fighter (F-) Planes, Flight Refueling that are 'State-of-the Art - Logistic & Warcraft' by the USSA Gov't.!  My next question he must have anticipated when i asked how often do these [?new?] foreign military traiinee recruits come to this particular [emphasis added location?] location? Oh,... about every two to three months. They stay as a unit for [~]  min/max stay of three/four weeks and always have the top two floors reserved for their discretion via secrecy. Once in the 'MOTEL' they stay in their {?quarters?]?!? til the next morning. i did notice their superiors in the lobby with USSA military personal in casual dress (these casual dressed ussa military personel would be dressed in Uniform the next day monitoring their exit and arrival). Remember i bumped into these guys in the lobby and frequently on the elevators with one staying next door to me always opening up and closing his door several tymes during the night.

My room for this visit was on one of the floors they all booked? How i got the room on their floor still surprises me. the reason i mention this as on business i would go in and out down to the lobby and always back to my room noticing the forementioned USSA Military personel scurring about on the elevator visiting various rooms of interest (no eye contact longer than a second?). hmmm....?

[this], i found out happens all the tyme in every state where training centers are set-up for this very purpose with 'ALL' nationalities from all nations, 'ALWAYS' within a mile or so from siad destination (few miles maximum, ya know?) of Startegic Military Bases[!], being trained for our military incursions.

my finding this out by accident fifteen years ago was alarming to say the least,... [why],.... we train our enemy of our enemies [as] our friend???

the arabs are [NOT Dumb]! in fact the Saudis are extremely intelligent an business savvy. Note:  fact is the average saudi population age is  barely thirty years of age, [which]... should make you ask some questions as to why?!?

Watch the video for a full update on Merriam-Webster's definition of "crock of shit".

Some 3:20 minutes in, Black Pigeon has the audacity to claim that "Saudi Arabia... is the home to a very fundamental interpretation of Islam... but any legitimate scholar of Islam would call (them) muslims that follow the teachings of the Qur'an..." without offering any substantial evidence to support his blabber.

Ha! Spoken like a true CIA propagandis... err, I mean, scholar of Islam.

I see no middle ground here; women either have rights or they don't. If women have rights, they leverage those rights into total control of society and squander its wealth on competitive status-signaling (cf. the Oppian Laws). They also refuse to marry anyone who's not a billionaire CEO with rock-hard abs and lots of free time, so the non-welfare-dependent population collapses.

If women have no rights, they're married at 12 and produce so many babies that constant civil war is required to cull the surplus population.

CRM114's picture

Allow me to describe the middle ground. Whilst many women want Billionaire, etc, they tend to settle for less when their baby clocks start ticking loudly at 30. This has always been true. The problem is that currently they can get pregnant without marriage and the public are expected to pay for it, or they can get pregnant within marriage, get a no-fault divorce, then expect the father to keep paying for it. Both of these are the actual ruinous factors, not womens' rights. With rights must come responsibilities, and it's with the lack of the latter that the problem lies. Women talk about committment, but that's an entirely one-way street at the moment, so what other behaviour would you expect of the irresponsible?

And besides, if they leverage those rights into the collapse of society, one must ask who is responsible for that. Do not the males who vote for that share responsibility? One must also ask what will happen as a result of the collapse, and for a rock-solid certainty womens' rights will go out the window.

fbazzrea's picture

wow... y'all must run with some winners.

DaveA's picture

Female brains just aren't wired to understand the concept of "responsibilities", so they are sure to abuse any rights given to them. A woman's feelings are always more important than any promise she made in the past.

As for collapse ending women's rights, that's true, but the process usually involves the nation's men all being killed or castrated, and replaced by foreign invaders.

Koba the Dread's picture

Women are hard-wired to get the best deal for their offspring. In wimp-world, a man's role of protecting those offspring for their women is voided. In wimp-world, proxy alpha males such as divorce lawyers, judges, etc., are substituted for fathers in that role. In wimp-world, most men are not morally capable of providing the protection those offspring need.

Socratic Dog's picture

Womens' rights, whatever that may be, will absolutely go out the window when TSHTF.  Along with a shitload of other pampered minority rights. They are all a function of a terminally decadent declining state.  Are you going to take woman's shit from your wife when the kids are starving and you're shivering in the dark?  I didn't think so.  She will pretty quickly learn to get along with you.

how_this_stuff_works's picture

" A woman's feelings are always more important than any promise she made in the past."

The problem is, neither men nor women respect those promises. There's an outward symbol of marriage; it's called a wedding ring. No one should come onto anyone who's wearing one.

Somebody complained on a posting within the last week about women who'd had 100 women or more. I think one response was, "What's a guy got to do to get laid?" Well guys, leave it in your pants and that won't happen.

If you want to get respect, you have to give it.

DaveA's picture

It matters if women remain chaste until marriage and faithful to their husbands thereafter. If even 30% of women decided to do this, decent men would be lining up around the block to court them.

In fact, that's how Rome went from pagan to Christian in a few generations -- the Christians rescued unwanted baby girls, fifteen years later their churches were full of sweet, innocent young maidens, and young pagan men were suddenly really eager to get baptized and marry them, what with pagan women being hypergamous, clapped-out, egotistical sluts.

Whereas if 99% of men decided to be chaste, women would just fuck the other 1%.

Right! Every other time it was "different" too. The only possibility of union (and it's probably fantasy too) is a restoration of the Ottoman Empire. Turks get the job done. Arabs, no!
