RNC Pulls Financial Support From Roy Moore

Tyler Durden's picture

The Republican National Committee (RNC) has pulled its financial support from GOP Senate hopeful Roy Moore by severing official fundraising ties, leaving Moore "increasingly isolated as he confronts charges of sexual misconduct with teenagers." According to Politico, the RNC is terminating a joint fundraising agreement it had with Moore and is also canceling a field program it had set up ahead of the state’s Dec. 12 special election. The committee had about a dozen paid canvassers in Alabama working for Moore. It will no longer transfer any money to the race.

New documents filed Tuesday with the Federal Election Commission show the RNC is no longer listed alongside other groups involved in the joint fundraiser. The two parties now listed on the documents include “Judge Roy Moore for US Senate” and the Alabama Republican Party. According to The Hill, the initial FEC filing, dated Oct. 24, included both the RNC and National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) . The new filing does not include either of those groups.

Practically, this means that whereas a donor could have given up to $521,200 per year to the joint fundraising committee when it included both the RNC and NRSC. Now that they have pulled out, a donor can only give a max of $12,700 per year to the committee.

The severing of financial ties comes as the GOP intensifies its effort to pressure Moore out of the race. On Monday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell called on the candidate to “step aside.” McConnell, whose view was also echoed by Paul Ryan on Tusday, also said he believed the accounts of Moore’s female accusers, who told the Washington Post that Moore pursued them when they were teenagers and he was in his 30s.

Moore, a former state Supreme Court justice, has denied the allegations and has vowed to remain in the race. "We’ve said this before and we’ll say it again: Judge Moore is an innocent man and has never had any sexual misconduct with anyone,” his campaign said on Monday.

“The person who should step aside is @SenateMajLdr Mitch McConnell,” Moore tweeted on Monday. “He has failed conservatives and must be replaced. #DrainTheSwamp.”

Meanwhile, Even if Moore were to exit, his name would still appear on the ballot because state law prevents a candidate from withdrawing from a race within 76 days before an election.

One possibility being discussed is waging a write-in campaign. But with just over four weeks until the election, such an effort would be a long-shot. Strange, who Moore defeated in a September runoff, has expressed little interest in being a write-in candidate, according to three people with direct knowledge of his thinking.

I see this as a bonus. The RNC did everything they could to sht on trump too. How'd that work out?

All but guarantees a win for Moore.

If the other party opposes you, you are establishment. If both parties oppose you, you're the real thing.

Gardentoolnumber5's picture

And once again we should take this opportunity to remind do not donate to the RNC. They will almost always back a big govt collectivist candidate over a constitutional limited govt candidate. Donate directly to small govt constitutional candidates directly even if from other States than your own.

RNC Pulls Financial Support From Roy Moore

My response: The DEEP STATE is pulling out all the stops!!!

The PROLIFE community is really upset based on the emails I am getting over the last week.

While I don't know if these women are truthful, I do know that to come forward after 38 years of remaining silent just before an election raises all kinds of red flags.

This MARXIST PROGRESSIVE LIBERALs may have new strategy hatched from the PIT OF HELL. If they want to ruin someone's chance for office, we will just charge them with sexual harrassment. (Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals dedicated to Lucifer)

The Lord looked and was displeased

    that there was no justice.

He saw that there was no one,

he was appalled that there was no one to intervene.

Mark my words, this will NOT end well for anyone.

I think it important to point out that dating barely legal girls, or sister-fucking for that matter, are more likely to garner more votes than less in Alabama.

So this might really backfire on the libs.

IH8OBAMA's picture

The best idea I heard was to make Jeff Sessions a write in candiate.  That way we get him out of the DOJ so Trump can appoint someone with some balls to the AG position.

Honestly, it sounds like he picked the right one and lived a happy married life.

These accusers sound like miserable old cat ladies who are jealous they're not by his side.

What happened to that woman who said, during the election, that Trump raped her when she was 14?

Adullam's picture

This all-out attack by the establisment Reps and Dems is going to backfire on them. This battle is just getting started. It is moved out of the political arena and is now in that of good versus evil, light against darkness.

I don't know Roy Moore, but from everything I've read on him he is a man of strong, moral convictions and will stand by them even when it is not the popular thing to do. That alone sets him apart from 99% of politicians.

Also, according to Breitbart, this is an orchestrated attack from Mitch McConnell to show Steve Bannon up. If that's the case, things are really going to get interesting.

Miffed Microbiologist's picture

I don't know. The more things that are coming out about this guy I'm starting to believe he's a pontificating self righteous hypocrite and if he graced my door I'd slam it in his face. I have no desire to be by his side if he were the last man on earth.

However, I admit the timing is wrong and all of this should have been dealt with long ago so the blame is not only with him. Also, the idea of Doug Jones taking that seat makes me nauseous, that is no choice.

So,with all things considered, I say elect another lying hypocrite to the swamp. He'll be right at home.

butchtrucks's picture

Agreed. He might be a child molester but he’s OUR child molester. Besides, at least his pedophile aciltivies aren’t organized out of the basement of a pizza joint in DC.

Jeffersonian Liberal's picture

Please try to remember your history.

The Democrats ran Teddy Roosevelt to split the Republican vote. That put Woodrow Wilson in office.

McTurdle suggested Sessions as a write-in vote to split the Republican vote and to ensure a Democrat win. More Dims in the Senate means that McTurdle can act like opposition knowing that no legislation that would help the American people and make Trump look good will ever pass.

Fuck write-ins.

Fuck this obvious frame-up smear job by the treasonous fuctards in the DNC.

Get Moore elected.

If the GOP tries to take his win away, they deserve to be hanging from lampposts.

MAGA by destroying the Establishment Party.

The uniparty is really joined together in trying to keep Trump suporters from gaining any senate seats. I fucking hate the rino's more than hildicunt, as they are the enablers.  I think Trump has been givin the JFK speech and probably mentioned his family too. Otherwise sleepy sessions would have had a door print on his ass.

Karlus's picture

Think Trump has not booted Sessions because he cant get a new guy confirmed. And I also think the JFK speech is a real thing. Kid could also have an accident.

That said, The Donald is no punk

Establishment GOP will pull this shit on every true conservative that dares to run in 2018. This is the Bannon/Mcconnel dick-swinging contest being fought by proxy.

johngaltfla's picture

The funny thing is that a poll from ABC Birmingham, AL taken on 11/13 now has Moore up by 8%!!!! This is going to be fun to watch.

TheObsoleteMan's picture

The Senate is already suggesting they will refuse to seat him. There is a procedure for this, but IT HASN'T BEEN DONE SINCE 1862! It is telling that they had no problem with allowing Obama into the Senate, even when there was credible evidence even then that he was not eligible to serve. This is their play ground, they do as they damn well please, and if they must, they will just change the rules to suit them. Not even King George III was this treacherous, and his actions started a revolution. But of course, that was back when people were moral, and actually gave a shit about such things. Americans today just want their toys, perversions and drugs. They will soon get their just reward. Be strong Roy Moore. The forces of Satan have been against you before, you know what their goals are.

Bullets will settle the Washington bullshit in the end.

No they're now called the Wizards. It's been a while too. They played in Landover just outside of DC for decades. Area libs were offended by the "Washington Bullets" moniker, since it, to them, seemed to sanction random violence, so they changed their name to the Landover Bullets, but there was a misunderstanding or something. Now they're the Washington Wizards.

Roy Moore in his thirty's wrote on a 16 year old's yearbook, " "To a sweeter more beautiful girl I could not say 'Merry Christmas.' Christmas 1977. Love, Roy Moore, D.A. ... Olde Hickory House.".   I am glad you are willing to vote for a child molester.  It says a lot about you.

Dancing Disraeli's picture

So that constitutes smoking gun evidence of pedophilia in 2017?

Adullam's picture

I posted this elsewhere on ZH. It is worth repeating for those who may not have read it on a different thread.

The latest attack on Roy Moore is turning into a real boondoggle.

1. Check the signatures. They don't match.

2. Yearbooks don't come out at Christmas. They come out at the end of the year, or at least some time near the end of the school year.

3. The restaurant name is wrong.

4. The handwriting of the date and restaurant name is different than the rest.

5. If you look at the writing, the last part from "Moore" to the end is even in a different color of ink.

This is going to blow up in the faces of the establishment trying to get Moore out before he gets into the senate where he can do some real damage to the swamp ... maybe more than Donald has so far.

Can't wait to see the citizens of Alabama do a big FU to the establishment in DC.

The First Rule's picture

That's exactly what the Establishment GOP is terrified of.

If this comes to a vote they are likely screwed.  Last poll I saw yesterday had Moore +10.  People Hate the Establishment GOP so much.

That's why they are using every underhanded trick in the book to try and get him to drop out.

The establishment seems intent on making this a bigger and bigger blow to them.
