AAPL Unhalts Red (Under $580)

Tyler Durden's picture

After hitting $605 in pre-market, and halting at $599.32, we see AAPL reopened at $580 -down from Friday's close. Volume is relatively low, so we can assume AAPL is not buying its stock just yet. More importantly, could this be the start of rotation from hedge funds to dividend funds? Those who wish to join the Apple call can do so at (877) 616-0063, passcode: 592016. As a reminder, and as updated on the call, of APPL's $98 billion in cash, $64 billion is offshore - this means that $34 billion is available for immediate distribution and so to cover the $45 billion program, we assume some healthy repatriation will occur? In this context, Apple admits it has has spoken to Congress and the administration about tax issues relating to cash repatriation. One can imagine the plot layout.

As the call began, AAPL had inched back up to $592

Unloading to granny. Dividend allows for mutual funds to invest. Granny holding the bags while fraud st. sells. Sooner or later apple will go down due to competition, the next hot thing, and margins.

If the Bernank & Crew have assumed retail Joe & Jane 6 Pack are not coming back in no matter what, this would be an opportune time for The non-Federal Reserve-less bank to expedite its true mission of popping one of the most recent bubbles it has created (in equities), in order to get its members paid in convertible fiat (while the converting is good), and maybe have the ancillary benefit of boosting the simultaneous bubble in 'risk off' assets such as treasuries, which have lost several key buyers of significant impact lately.

Ben Bernank blows bubbles.

Nice gas bubbles too, $3.20 to $4.20 just in a week here. The last time we had 'Irrational Exuberance' gas cost $1.30 DOW was 14,000, now we've got a depression, $4 gas, yet its all 'good times', uh huh yea we'll see how long that lasts.

Well I dont know anyone myself who bought one. Hey as long as Bernanke says he wants to create 'irrational exuberance' again with gas at $5, its all good. $600 stocks all the rage, while businesses shut down left and right.

Was in the mall this weekend (travelling for business and thunderstorms ruined the tourism plan).   Yes the stores were PACKED.   Facebook was also packed with fanboys and girls posting pics of their new ipads.

So yeah, they are selling them.

HEY!  Didn't you know that the "new IPAD" (not IPAD3 - lol) is the inflation fighter?  Although it costs the same (or more) the DC whizbangs have it lowering inflation about 12% due to "increased technology".   NOW you can understand the absurd inflation rates reported.  (I love my IPAD2.)

In a non-manipulated, non PPT market, I would place some short positions as the apple falls from the tree. But knowing how things really work, I doubt the Apple will be allowed to experience Newton's law and I have no doubt my investment dollars could be turned into mincemeat pie.

Newton's first law:

Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it.

The external forces will actually keep the Apple object going up as long as it is intheir best interests.

Newton's third:

III. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Keep printing money, gold goes upwards. Think I'll stay with my PMs and mining shares!

It is not that Apple is invincible. Their future success comes from a continually  expanding offering of products almost that have captured the imagination and are almost guaranteed to be hits.  99% ff other companies (I almost said countries) would LOVE to be in Apple's shoes since a "drop" of 100 points still leaves it near $500 -an incredible price.

Discounting is a bitch. $2,65 per Q implies $80. share buyback is ~2%, inconsequential. So for this stock to keep flying cf needs to rise at an unbelievable pace. Priced to beyond perfection.

Apple embodies everything that is wrong with this country. Apple is suing Samsung and Motorola Mobility (Google's Zoom) attempting make their respective Android devices illegal bc in a free marketplace Apple cannot survive against Android or any other non-DRM protected junk-by-design.

It's the S Apple P 500, not S&P anymore, and its the NAppleSDAQ. It's the only stock that matters anymore. 4% of the SAppleP. 12% of the NAppleSDAQ. This is retarded. I admit I rode the wave and made a butt-load owning this stock, but I just sold because this recent move is just ludicrous.

Same whiner crew that has lost their shirts owning gold and silver since 2010 and shorting the E/S - AAPL is a wonderful company with many, many years of growth left. My 22-year old daughter tells me that it is "uncool" to using anything BUT an AAPL product. That won't change any time soon.

for sure apple may be better served issuing a 3yr note yielding 2%, but then again, they can just do an Interest Rate and Currency based swap with some other foreign national company that needs foreign currency loans, swap yen, euro, pounds whatever for dollars back home and pay for the divvy, I am sure GS has some great deals for them....Repatriation means taxes, IRSwaps and CurrencySwaps do not.  Great job the FED has done, when companies can borrow for less money then a national treasury.  Then again this is about keeping status quo and continuing the rape and pillage of all commoners.
