Pre-election America Reads In Red And Blue
If the following "heatmap" of readership political bent by state from Amazon is any indication of the votership inclination in the coming election, then Mitt Romney, more natural disasters notwithstanding, has nothing to worry about. Then again in the world of oxymorons, there are few quite as potent as "America Reads" (with the exception of the occasional money-losing Kindle for the aspirationally cool reader).

I have a friend who proudly proclaims that he doesn't read fiction. But he will watch fictional tv shows and movies. Seems to be a strange kind of snobbery when reading can only be confined to "facts." But of course facts are often spun, sometimes to the point of fictionalization. And fiction, as a representation of the author's views and those of his audience is simply a different kind of fact. Huckleberry Finn was fictional but Twain was real. Twain is still real. And I could swear that I just heard Huck tapping on my window to ask if I'd like to light out for the territories with him.
Fuck your toy-ass Ayn Rand--Heinlein is God.
and what's more-His prescience seems to have no limit. Name ONE thing you read in Atlas Shrugged that has ACTUALLY HAPPENED...tick tock...All done? PS:*( The only way Romney can carry anyplace that's not Utah or Massachusetts is to airdrop a weapons-grade nanoparticularized heroin/psylocybin/soma compound from a fleet of B-52s over 93% of the continental US --ten minutes before the polls open. the only one who could pull any kind of shit like that off--is OBAMA.) Romney can forget about any KIND of a sweep, unless the Big O drops dead in the traces the night before. oh, and just because people READ about fucking vampires, doesn't mean they ACTUALLY want to fuck them. (they're dead-- and probably quite smelly.)
(*Private citizens-no matter how wealthy--just don't have the military clout to act unilaterally inside the US. Sorry,Cock Brothers.(yeah, I KNOW that's not how it's spelled. You're welcome.)
oh, and {"LINK?'} I don't have to. read a goddamn book; do your OWN fucking homework for once.
80% of Americans read no books at all in 2011. Draw some conclusions for yourself. We are now a demented sugar addled nation, 50% overweight and of the 50%, 50% clinically obese. Sounds Red State doesn't it?
Care to revise that asstimate? About 1/3 of Americans were enrolled in formal school in 2011.
93% of Americans have internet access. That would be everyone except the loonies & the convicts. The internet is text based... what you're doing right now.
What do you mean "we", Chemo-Sobe?
Or the Blue readers are checking out the books for free at their local Public Library, or borrowing them from friends. Red readers don't have those options.
Forget fiction.
Obama has until September 6 to replace DeMarco with a recess appointment, and he has to do this if he wants to buy 30 million votes with massive mortgage forgiveness. My bet is that he does the deed on Sept 4 or 5. If he does it, he will be unbeatable.
Poor people, younger people, uneducated people, and a large % of minorities do not read. The vast majority of these people vote democrat.
Bill O Rielly, thats what the zombies read? geez... Zerohedge needs to start a TV station... maybe during commercials people will flick over and get the antidote to the Tvirus...
Just because a book was purchased, doesn't mean it was read.
Big difference between readers and voters.
Readers = Republicans.
Non-readers = Democrats
