And Back To Slovakia, Where EFSF Vote Is Imminent
Refuting the previous update from the WSJ of a vote delay, is the latest rumor-cum-pseudo confirmation that the Slovak EFSF vote is due at 10pm local time or 4pm EDT. In Gasparino's immortal words the situation is fluid. That said, here is a live feed from Slovakia where it can be watch in case it does take place.

AH yes...the US fraud markets are closed, so safe to resume EFSF vote.
PS....Sell T F News!
They were just buying time to make sure everyone's been bought out.. either that or their families threatened.
Ah yes....but actual PASSAGE of this means Europe has then lost the 1 good trick they had, talking about rumors of planning plans...so now what?
implementing the plan... rumors on that could buy months...
No, the only 'good news' is if someones talking about printing money....after they actuall do it, its bad news again, and immediately priced in. Sell the news.
There is no good news. Its the old deck chairs/Titanic situation. While they are voting, they should probably do some stress tests as well as announce plans to make a plan. A rumor that Soros is shorting gold and going long Netflix would probably really add something. Lastly, some bullish comments from Wells Fargo's James Paulson about European equities couldn't hurt. When all is said and done, the Euro is toast. What that means for the rest of the World is such an interesting question.
Wow, this is a really nice spot to settle into. I like the "arguing over the bar bill on the Titanic" anaolgy.
obtw, Paulson is Wells Capital Management not WFC.
even if i fail the stress of the test will have been well worth it
Merkozy will be on the phone @ 10.10pm local time and coordinate statements to be given next morning. They will conclude that the actual 4.8 billion Euro from Slovakia are but a laughing matter and that it would be best to annexe Greece to Southern France while the Germans will receive Alsace Lorraine again. All will be happy as of Thursday!
Sky News just said that they have voted 'NO' (for now)
The shakedown continues.
Democracy is overrated
Anarchy is under-rated. Catalonia 1936
Democracy is an illusion created by the kleptocrats to fool and lull the masses into an ignorant sleep.
I am going to occupy zerohedge until I get some answers on Nic Lenoir.
He's now working for GTS Securities (was working for ICAP,) and I'm guessing he's not allowed to post on blogs.
Update: GTS Securities is an arm of Citigroup. There's no way he's posting on ZH.
Thanks for the info Sanch. Much appreciated.

Is there not one political party on this planet who says "niet" to solving a debt crisis with more debt? Come on Slovakia, light the fucking fuse under the Eurobomb.
It's nyet. There is one. Iceland said fuck you and is doing quite nicely.
+1
Someone eventually will have to grow a fucking set of balls and tell the bankers to take a flying fuck at a rolling donut.
It sure as hell won't be the spineless pussies in Congress, so it may as well be Slovakia.
Muthafuckas 'bout to go Carpathian on Greece's ass..
Irrelevant posturing, we all know they'll pass it eventually. I don't see why ZH or anyone else is making such a big deal about this?
Maybe you are telling the truth.
But we must ensure a proper coverage when somebody around the world is, at least, trying to stop the circus.
OK I can understand that and also support it but what bothers me is the tone in which ZH and everyone else is reporting this in. I mean sure it's important to point out those who want to do the right thing, but why also act as if it matters. Why ZH reported that "beware of their rejections, cause then, OMG all bets are off" when we all perfectly know, nothing will happen and they will eventually pass the meassure.. Why be so silly and dramatic? I can't stand it.
Well, as I always tell my friends, this ZH web, and some few other places, are great to get information..., but use your own brain to get the right opinion.
All votes bought and paid for....or else it would be delayed until then.
long live prostraterity!
STEP OFF Slovakia I don't want to see you...

We had too much debt, Slovakia voted no...yadda yadda yadda, the Euro is dead...
Soon all congressionsal business / government functions deemed to be "risky" will only be allowed during evenings and weekends so as not to disturb the fragile markets...
Why are we making such a big deal out of it......because we still have hope.....that somone might do the right thing
Show me one example, just one small example where someone did the right thing in the last 5 years. I don't have any hope anymore, I'm sorry.

I mean by a government of course.
Oh, well for that you will have to give me more time. :)
I guess Iceland? They are all a bit nutty though, having to pronounce those 8- in- a- row consonant words.

Maybe the slovakian self destructive eurofanatics received the banker/insurer blueprint how they want to be bailed out by the monster cdo/debt insurer/bank recapitalisation vehicle/fire wall/liesman SPV/primary market PIIGS buyer/secondary market PIIGS buyer/... and had such a hard on they couldn't wait for another day to get this deal sealed. I mean even Krugman is probably cumming honey somewhere on the planet debt.
Problem is, bailouts now only have a half life of 1 day. So whats next now that the rumors of rumors are no longer around to drive news headlines and churn algobots?
Got to have headlines about rumors to drive algos into action.
Indeed my friend. The headline figure in these "plans of plans" keeps growing every day and with a half life of 1 day the central planners need to add 1 trillion into the rumors of plans of plans every day going forward. Gotta feed the churn machine...
I can't understand a friggin' word of that gibberish so it must not be that important.
Here we go....
<----- Bloomberg "Stocks Advance as Euro Crisis fears ease after Slovak vote"
<----- Bloomberg "Stocks Tumble as Euro Crisis fears grows after Slovak vote"
The only news that matters is that a fat ass from NJ endorsed a hairpiece from Mass/Utah/Mich...
They voted no.
On the proposal, or the proposal to vote on the proposal?
I knew Europe wouldnt relinquish the only thing they have, carrot and stick.
They'll sell out like a American president. Just wait and see....
oh why limit it to the President.. "They'll sell out like an American politician.."
Vote is not "imminent", they just decided to resume the debate again instead of voting at 22:00 as planned.
This suggests to me that the ruling coalition think there is a high chance of losing the vote, want to have another go at persuading No votes to change their minds, judging by emotive language.
Chance that they decide to flip the vote to tomorrow: I'd say 30%.
Markets currently open: Sydney, Australia - any others? Here in London I can still get "out of hours" dealing in EUR/USD, Gold and most major stock indices including DAX, Eurostoxx and the US indices of course.
Its either a 'sell the news hard' or 'tank the markets bigtime'...theyre in a bit of a bind.
Nevermind
If they had enough yes votes wouldn't they have taken the vote during market hours?
vote it down!
'nie eurovalu'
guess the euro has no value
who is vlade?
Vlade is an impaler, probably
Vlade Galt, John's Slovakian cousin.
I think this is another live shot

They voted no but nobody gives a shit, it's earnings season
And it will be a shitty season with the dollar up 7% or so since last go around.
Well hmm, breaking news always hard to find. This just in from MSNBC
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/44864356/ns/business-world_business/
"Slovakia's government lost a confidence vote Tuesday called on a plan to bolster the euro zone's EFSF rescue fund, but the package was expected to go through in a later re-vote because the outgoing prime minister planned to ask for help from the opposition."
I don't get it, why did the euro go down when it will go back up later on the second vote that will pass.
It would be epic if opposition said no after PM gets kicked out
think about it ..... in the democratic way ...... this obviates the need for 'revolution' .... a governing coalition in one country will be history over this vote. Sure there were cynical vote-trading schedmes going on ...each one of you do this every day with your spouses or kids or relatives or biz associates ...
but Greece, a country that had no right to come into Euro under the Treaty terms .. has croaked another government ... is there no shame down there - no self-respect??
Wow .... am sure they are exhasuted in Bratislava (good beer there by the way ... just about as good as the Czechs who are much better than the vaunted German brewers .... see Pilsner Urquell and its very very good brethern Staropremin, Czechvar ... which was the orginal Busweiser etc
