Anonymous Hacks Greek Ministry Website, Demands IMF Withdrawal, Threatens It Will Wipe Away All Citizen Debts

Tyler Durden's picture

If there is one war that Greece could not afford to join, that is with the global computer hacking collective known as Anonymous. Yet as of minutes ago, that is precisley what happened, after Anonymous, as part of what it now calls Operation Greece, took down the Greek Ministry of Justice ( While the pretext for the hacking appears to have been an arrest of the wrong people, is seems to have angered Anonymous to the point where they have left an extended message of demands on the Greek website, warning that unless the IMF withdraws from the country and the government resigns, all debts of Greek citizens will be wiped clean.

Translated from the Greek:

     Citizens of Greece

     We are Anonymous.
We watch every day your government abolishes the constitution and institutions of the country.
We see them leading you closer and closer to poverty.
We see them pass laws that deprive you of any right to dignity.
We see them and deliver the country to the IMF and the bankers.
We know about the soup kitchens in schools,
for people who are left jobless and now wait in queues for a plate of food.
We know that your country voted ACTA in your effort to silence and other Greeks.
We know everything ...
The Republic in Greece has died.
He died while a government that has not been elected by the people.
And for this reason that the time for discussion came and went.
Not negotiating anything with any of those who murdered him.
Can you hunt as you like, you can even capture some of us,
When you attempt to silence us ...
But for every one that will capture 3 others will spring up. There are 5 or 10 or 100.
Now the Greeks are all Anonymous.
We are millions against you and the 300 in this war tear gas will not help you.

     Occupying Government of Greece
These days are going to vote for a bill that will be the last nail in the coffin of the Greek.
A bill to return the country to a totalitarian rule.
To bring the country and its people in absolute poverty.
We will not allow another misery to the Greek people.
We demand your resignation immediately, and elections.
We demand not paid a cent to moneylenders 'friends' you.
We demand the immediate withdrawal of the IMF from Greece.
The Justice Department was only a small sample of what we're capable of doing
Even you have not seen the full wrath of Anonymous.
For each article of a bill that would shame the vote,
we will shut the system and deleting an Inland Revenue debts of Greek citizens
Debts which requires them to fascist pay.
Can the demonstrations of the Greeks to their encounter with incredible violence,
anexelekta hitting, but the internet is our field. And I love this war.
We are many and we will be brief.

Citizens of Greece, Anonymous is now fighting on your side ...

Government of Greece, let us wait ...

Maybe after unloading the debt, adding a few thousand euros to every ones accounts? It's all play money anywys, right?

breakyoself's picture

By any means necessary. Anon is not to be fu'd with.

The fact that someone is at least trying to be a modern-day Robin Hood delights me.

What saddens me is that these are the only guys who've even tried to stand up to the bankers.

Dismiss it as useless if you will, but I sure hell don't see anyone else doing anything.

instead of Barak these folks should have won a noble peace prize.

Hack into robosigned paper. Nice.

What, BO is not enough of a hack for you?

This is the best news I've heard in a very long time.

It is clear that the powerbrokers care nothing for their victims, and their plan for domination gathers speed, and strength.

Do not forgive the tyrants.

Good luck.

old news i looked online and seem to have been hacked back on feb 02 2012

I really hope they uderstand that you really can't just make a threat like that - after all, they just declared war on cybersecurity - you think Iran is an 'existential' threat; aAnonn just became public enenmy no.1 - just the hope factor, that someone could stand up to the Oil co.s and the Banks, without cash, even the police won't back the regime, this threat cannot not be disregarded

That's what I worry about. Is Anonymous psyops? If they had the capability to wipe out the debt why not just do it ? All this does is creates a boogie man like Al qaeda so the Feds can crack down on the web.

john39's picture

or to goad and provoke actual uprisings.   don't assume that the bankers don't want greece to fall into to chaos shortly.  I can think of a few scenarios where this would make sense from the cabal point of view.  keep an eye on this...

Anonymous sounds very much like "John Galt"
In fact, Tyler(s) does as well !

Da plane, Da plane!!!!

Good Lord that would be hillarious if they did that. I doubt however that they have the ability or I think they would have done it by now and ended the suffering. Maybe as more people join they can gain that capability. I'd love to see the looks on the bankers faces if that happened.

blu's picture

Maybe as more people join they can gain that capability.

This is probably the better play. It would not be too hard for Anon to mount a murmur campaign or flash mob kind of thing, to get a lot of people to jointly repudiate their debt in one huge leap. Meaning, just not pay it. En mass, all at once. If they could activate 10% of the middleclass to pull the debt plug at once it might be enough to nuke the entire system of debt rehypothecation.

And if I can think that far into it then someone else certainly did already.

We shall see.

Thats because you arnt the one dieing in it.

"Killing a man is a hellava thing, you take away everything they have and ever will have."

Thats war; In a nut shell.

I was speaking of this spirirual war humanity is going through, and I feel that ZH has allowed me and others space to rally likeminded people.  I was shellshocked before I found this place two and one half years ago, and I needed this outlet.

I have had family members and close friends in combat and I have heard their stories of being in shootouts for weeks straight yada yada so there is no need to be patronizing.

I've always wondered why ZeroHedge was created. Ads are probably making them real money now if my back of the envelope calculations are close but Tyler and friends put in quality and quantity research time for quite awhile before it was big enough to make a decent profit. For a time I thought it might be a place where some of Ron Paul's surplus campaign funds went four years ago but the timing is wrong. Whatever, it is unique as a source of non-propagandized info and as grit in the gears of the global ponzi machine. Tyler, may you and your tribe prosper.

"you really killed the hell out of him kid"

adr's picture

One of my grandfathers killed 5 men in WWII up close and personal during street battles in France. Near the end of a firefight he shot two soldiers and was shot in the leg by a german officer. His next shot killed the officer and he took the officer's luger, dagger, and badges. Items my father has now.

He always said there were only a few men among boys in the war. Most were too afraid to shoot their gun. My grandfather wanted to come home so he shot his rifle. He never claimed any remorse because he was doing his job, either he killed or he would get killed. He also said the French soldiers were tough as nails but their commanders were pansy weaklings that couldn't manage the simplest tasks. The French soldiers would always talk about killing their own commaders if they saw one for giving up Paris so easily.

War is hell and most soldiers never actually take part. Like the American revolution it is left to a small minority to actually make a difference for all.

My Uncle did special ops in Vietnam and Cambodia.  He was a black beret before there were black berets.  He told my dad one story after he came back one night at a bar.

He was flown close to a village at night, alone, only armed with a dagger, and was told to kill one man and leave.  He did his job, and slit the mans throat while he slept.  He asked my dad if he wanted to hear any more stories.  My dad said no.

Sounds a little like my pop - who I lost 30++ years ago.

These men would never believe what is happening to the US of A.

We inherited their legacy and we owe them - do we not?

God rest their souls.

Up or Down Vote Mr Lennon Hendrix here. That tic with the quote thing makes it so that I can't vote on his comment.

My vote is up.

Could they do that here (USA) too, please?

This is a delaration of war.

The more you depend on electricity the more you depend on those who understand it.

If Anonymous keeps this up they are going to get classified as a terrorist group.

q99x2's picture

Anonymous. I am non-opinionous about the whole thing.

GCT's picture

They got some gonads.  However follow thru is lacking.  Think for a minute why announce this if you could just do it.  Too many seervers in Europe to actually hack and screw up.  It is one thing to threaten it is another to follow through.  Now the backups all over Europe are running overtime and will be pulled out of the systems so they cannot be hacked.

Chump's picture

Good point.  This seems the sort of thing they would be better off doing and then taking credit for in the aftermath.  Time will tell, but too many more grand threats with nothing to show for them and Anonymous will go the way of Assange.

Seer's picture

They're giving the parliament a chance to repent.

Unlike GW Bush who gave Saddam 24 hrs (or whatever it was) to give himself up before the "invasion," only to find out that at the very moment he was blathering this to the teleprompter troops were already on the ground in Iraq warming things up.

Well, OK, in a way I see the point about just "doing it."  I suppose that the idea is to not be like THEM...

Santa turned out to be a fake. So did The Easter Bunny.

Many grew up to figure out their parents' marriages were fakes too.

I grew up and found out my government was evil and resembled nothing that was discussed in my civics class.

I loved my civics class and so did most of my peers. We were so fucking wholesome, real believers.

But the shroud has been pulled from my vision and now everything is coated in a film of cynicism.

Dripping cynicism.

I sit and watch and hope you are real. I fear you are full of shit.

I'm willing to lead, but only a few will follow. It is not enough.

I watch. I wait.

There is no critical mass, yet. Thunder clouds are forming, an energy is rumbling out there, but...not yet.

If there was a chance that these fuckers could be brought to justice, man...

That believer is inside me still. She weeps. She watches.

Virginia is not asking about Santa here.

Stir our imaginations.

It sucks feeling this helpless.

I am so fucking sad.
